Houndour was just sweeping any trainer that he was going against in fact the next trainer was one of the gym ones. The air in the large gym was chilled but Brycen was away so the pair were allowed to train in here. Obviously he was going to use Ice Pokemon so this was a taste for the real gym battle.

Scratching Houndoom behind his ear Simon gave him the Mega Stone attached to his collar causing him to Mega Evolve before Simon returned him.

Entering the Pokecenter Simon healed the team up before sitting down on one of the chairs and opening his Pokenav. Maybe Blaziken wasn't the best Pokemon to raise unless they were just working with starters. Aside from ember and blaze kick she wouldn't even learn a new fire move for a long time. With that he decided that his team would start with Houndoom then Camerupt since they were both Mega Fire Pokemon. Noibat and Greninja would be not super effective but at the same time strong members to have. With that he decided to train Braixen to evolution and train someone else in place of Blaziken. Because he would evolve soon Simon traded out Blaziken for Yamask, then maybe switch him out with Tepig.
