Dear Diary,
Please excuse my lack of journal entries lately. Everyones been so busy! Well, weve completely moved into the Dale residence now. Its so wonderful here. Ive posted some pictures on the previous page for reference.
Fray and Lavender have been changing, too. Fray took his first steps! Can you believe it? I was so angry I didnt have a video recorder. Oh well, I suppose there will be many chances in the future! Fray and Lavender have both gotten a deal bigger. Frays actually quite tall for a toddler. However, check this out, as Fray and Lavender have been growing so has the whistle.
I suppose its inappropriate to call it a whistle now, isnt it? Its actually a pipe, now. Forgotten are so puzzling.
Anyway, hes grown into his original set of clothes. I can actually see his fingers now, how about that! Still he refuses to let go of that scarf and he absolutely hates wearing shoes. That silly boy... He still hasnt cried. Its worrying me, actually. I once knew someone whose tear ducts were closed when he was born and he was unable to cry. He had an operation and I would really hate for Fray to have to get an operation. Just the thought of it makes me shudder.
Some other weird points Oh yeah! Lavender is doing aerobics now, and Im not even joking. Shell jump on the wall, climb up half way and jump amazing distances. This isnt normal behavior for a rat. Considering how much she is attacking the cats, those kitties better sharpen those reflexes. Shes gotten awfully aggressive lately. I dont suppose theres a Rat Whisperer I could contact
Important Points: - Fray and Lavender are everywhere around the house now that theyre mobile. Fix that. - Fray sometimes has this eerie aura whenever he plays his pipe. More details later. - Lavender. Needs. To. Calm. Down.
Until next time! Raya
p.s. Picture for reference!

“Fray,” Dale kneeled up to the fairly tall toddler, staring him straight in his lavender eyes. “Yeh need ta stay here, ya here? Mommy n’ Niobe are out workin’ and I need ta stop by the library for just a bit, mkay kid?” The middle-age stay at home writer usually was endowed with the subtitle of babysitter, but he was scheduled for a book signing at the Decrean Library within the hour. The british man ruffled Fray’s hair slightly as he took off.
“Be good, Fray!” Dale c alled before shutting the door firmly behind him.
Now, this hadn’t been the only time Fray and Lavender had been left at home alone. Of course, it was the only time they had been left alone with the back door open and with the capable use of legs.
Point and fact? Mobility made Fray and Lavender a dangerous pair.

As Uncle Dale left the house, we were a little confused as to what to do. I know Lav wanted to chase the kitties, but Loki had become more and more angry at her whenever she stole his milk and Ravi has just acts mean to us all the time. I don’t really like when the kitties are mad at us, so I try to make Lav stop. My flute whistles as I press on a few notes. I’ve been trying to make a few songs but I don’t have anything I like quite yet. A lot of the songs on Mommy’s radio are a bit out of tune, but sometimes they’re arranged nicely. Mommy likes to listen to lots of different kinds of music while she’s drawing, so I get to listen too.
‘We need to do something’ Lavender told me while she itched herself. I was perfectly content playing my whistle in the middle of the floor, but Lavender likes exploring. I do too, sometimes, but because it’s summer the bees are out and I worry they will sting my feet.
‘Maybe we can go upstairs and read, Lavender,’ I suggested, thinking about Dale’s library. Dale has a small library where Lavender and I read lots of stories. Some of them I don’t understand, but some of them I do. I like to imagine the stories playing out like music in my head.
‘We’ve read every book in there three times. Lets go hunting.’
I frowned. Lavender is very small, but she scares big birds and the neighbor’s dog. Sometimes Lavender is very angry and scary, but I don’t know how to make her stop. She made a little girl cry on the street once, and I felt very badly for her. So, that’s why sometimes I’m scared of going outside with Lavender.
‘I don’t really want to go hunting.’
‘Fray, just go outside!’
‘Do we have to? There’s a lot of things to do inside here. Can we watch the TV?’
‘No! Lets go outside!’
Lavender ran to the other side of the room, and it was getting uncomfortable being so far away from her. I followed, but I wasn’t happy. She scratched on the glass door that lead outside to the backyard. When I looked outside, it was hot and the flowers were very bright. I liked that the flowers were happy, but I liked it better when it snowed.
When we went outside, it turns out I was right. It is very hot outside. Lavender ran through the grass and I adjusted my scarf, loosening it a bit. Mommy says I should take off some layers during the summer, but I really prefer my sleeves on always.
SQUEAK!
I turned around quickly to look at Lavender and I got confused. Two Lavenders! There was Lav, and then another mouse a little smaller than her. I squinted.
Lavender pounced.
