'Summer has come and passed, the innocent will never last~'

"I am!" Mikoto sprung to his feet suddenly, thrusting a finger in the air. "The one!" He flexed, smirking coolly."The only!" Finally he made a heart shape with his hands, winking through it towards Mirai. "Nyx's 'Storm of Emotions', Mikoto!" After that he remained silent for a few moments, holding the pose he'd last struck. If it felt a little awkward, that wasn't a huge surprise...and at last the dam seemed to break as he raised a hand to his mouth to smother a growing laugh at his own, silly pose.

"G-geez, saying it m-myself...aha...haha!" Mikoto felt like his sides were going to split, but in the end the best way to avoid feeling embarrassed and saying something dumb was to just...well, say something dumb anyways! Embrace the silly, young padawan! "S-sorry Ms. Konpaku, g-give me a minute...aha..." He wiped a tear from his eye as he turned to glance as his benchmate, knowing this was probably a little more awkward for her than before. He'd noticed her eying others nervously, and he got the feeling she was having trouble working up the courage for a conversation, but throwing one like this at her right away might just scare her off. And he was no stranger to being a stranger, since he hardly knew anyone in town himself...it was actually a bit refreshing to get caught up in something normal like this finally.

"T-that was rude of me. Snrk...and now I've shown you both a silly face like that. I'd better keep you from spreading rumors, or my reputation could go down the drain in no time! Think Mikoto! They've got you cornered now..." Mikoto put his finger under his chin for a moment as he thought of all the ways to 'bribe' the girls, before snapping his fingers excitedly. "I suppose there's no helping it, bribery is the only option! Well then, Konpaku, Ms... I guess I'll just have to agree to escort for the afternoon. I think I've just about got a handle on where the booths are now..." Mikoto raised a finger to his chin again as he looked down the hallway. That direction was 2-3, right...? "As long as I make it back in time for this evening, it should be fine. Makushima will understand...right?" He paused, mentally. W-well, Gin would understand. And Yuuya'd probably get it too. As for Makushima...t-they'd back him up on this one, right? Well, they had to, they owed him one!

"As long as your comfortable, that spot will be just fine." Being overly conscious would do no good, so as long as she was enjoying herself, he'd accompany Misaka for the time being. The truth was he had been stealing glances around them since exiting the GDC, and he now recognized this place. It was a school, and the banners proudly displayed the words 'Inaba Pride', meaning he was in the small town near Okina. Whatever power brought him here, it had covered quite the distance, but it seemed to be quite asinine otherwise. If he wanted to return home, he probably could without incident. Which meant there was nothing left to do but relax, and enjoy the tea he'd been offered by his pet-loving companion. "Blitzkrieg seemed to be quite the dedicated companion. A loyal dog is often the sign of a wise master...you must both be quite proud." The fact that the dog was wary of others was evidence of it's pride in Misaka itself, and quite a respectable trait in itself. As for the master...

"I'm intrigued, Ms. Misaka. Are you a student here, or a guest to the festival like myself? The people we passed seem quite eager for whatever festivities are waiting." 'Whereas you are taking things at your own pace', of course was also part of what he meant. There were merits in both approaches, but it was those who did things at their own pace that found the things they wanted actually getting done, and so he had a bit of respect for that sort of approach. Even as he stood beside the spot, waiting for the lady to take her seat first, Wei continued to ponder on the situation. She could have left in a fury at any time, and yet she was still willing to play along even in this situation. Most high schoolers had so little patience, would have ditched an adult like him by now through any means, and yet...it was truly fascinating.

Youmu Konpaku
Youmu was...more than a little confused at the boy's dramatic pose...before he quietly started reacting to himself, finding the thing funny. She shook her head lightly, but found the whole thing.....Amusing, at least. A small smile, a slight chuckle......She didn't quite understand what he meant by the 'Storm of Emotions'...But, it probably related to whatever he was a part of.
A team, maybe? she thought, as he then took it upon himself to offer to be her escort. She lightly pressed her fingers together, before shaking her head.
"N..No thanks.." she answered him lightly, moving to return the bowl. "I'm...not really looking for someone to escort me."
It was a nice offer, but she wasn't sure she could appreciate it as much as someone else. She hadn't been much for sports, save for Kendo...And if he was famous enough to have a fan.... "It was nice meeting you though, Hageshii-kun."
An easy rejection wouldn't be too hard to deal with.... would it?

Sayuri Misaka

Both Blitzkrieg and Sayuri seemed happy by Wei's praise. After taking a seat and waited for her guest for today to take a seat. "I just started school here today. It does seem to be very lively." She got one of the dog treats and gave it to her beloved doberman. Who happily ate it. "Thank you, though if anyone deserved praising it would be my old butler. He was the one who taught me how to train dobermans. Though he was only able teach me until I turned 9. He was killed along with all of my beloved dobermans. I was forced to watch it and told that I was the reason they were killed." That was the moment that changed her forever. She no longer became that weak little girl that would beg others to get her things. Taking a sip from her tea, she let out a happy sigh, though of course she added some sugar to her tea along with milk.

She was sure he found it amusing that a stranger he just met was telling him this. She didn't care that much though. He reminded her of her old butler. So he better not mind hearing her talk, though she looked around first to make sure nobody was listening. "Actually, was sent here by my relatives. It seems duct taping a baby's mouth shut and stabbing some people is frowned upon." She was ready for him to get up and leave her and add to that she needs to be locked up. That's how it was with her last few ex's. Well of course she tortured them after they called her a evil b***h. Well they were right in a way, she had embraced the darkness after all. She only saved her kindness for people that proved themselves and if her beloved doberman got along with them.

Her aunt and uncle may have taken her in, but they often called her insane, monster, and devil spawn. They even threatened to put down her beloved Blitzkrieg. They only didn't when she told them that if they did then she will make their life a living hell. Now, she was just waiting for his response, was he going to act like everyone else or ask why she did such things? Would he ask where were her parents when this happened. "Should probably mention that my father is dead. He killed himself when I was 9 years old. My mother went insane after finding his body and has been in a mental hospital since then." She thought it would be better to be clear with that, not that she cared much. no she did care. she wanted somebody to understand her and didn't really care on telling somebody what happened to her.

Wei Zhijun

'Oh? Quite the chatty girl. Most people would be less forthcoming after experiencing such circumstances.' Wei frowned as the thought passed, taking a sip of tea. Most people would have already packed up and left after...hell, even a few of the things she'd just mentioned. And yet, instead he merely gazed at the girl with a frown on his lips, as if he were somehow sharing in her grievances as she allowed him too. "It seems you've been through quite the rough life. Some of the things you say you've done can hardly be condoned, but at the same time, you've survived extraordinary injustice yourself. Most people who go through such harrowing ordeals can hardly return to society as you have. Like your mother, you mentioned." He wasn't judging, merely responding to her forwardness in explaining the matters. Though she didn't know, he had committed far more evil in his time than she could probably comprehend, and even the things she described seemed more like watermarks in her life than the actual contents of. Had she adapted to her downtrodden past so readily, overcome those things and, despite being warped by the events, retained a sound mind? Or was she the only one who thought she could still act normal after it all?

'She seems perfect.' 'Wei thought with a hint of excitement. He loved inflicting pain himself, but by no means did he envy those with suffering stories to tell. Life was wrought with them, so what he believed was important was how one evolved from their ordeals. It ultimately culminated in the idea that he enjoyed causing others difficulty, but he was just as enamored with how they survived it. When one survived with only a sob story to tell, hoping to garner sympathy from others...it disgusted him. She seemed brave on the surface, but there were a plethora of old wounds brimming just under the surface, causing damage that could not be undone. He didn't mind trying to help someone like that recover, and move on...but he would also love to pick at those wounds, and dispose of them if in the end all they could do was remember the pain that had been done.

He said none of this of course, simply maintaining the passive face from before and sipping his tea. In the end, he found her story quite amusing; but instead, he merely had to display the opposite of that. She wanted someone to pat her on the back for returning suffering to her assaulters, but anyone who did that would be displaying how truly insane they were. He may not have felt that way, but he would have to hide it for the time being.
"If you want a normal life, I suppose this school offers a place to find the peace you've been denied so far. It seems quiet, even in such an energetic time. But for some people, peace is something is like an allergy. It's not better, or worse, but they need a more exciting existence. Do you think you'd prefer to become a normal high school girl? Or do talk of clothes and one-day crushes bore you? I'm sure you'll find your answer in time, but...you have to be willing to accept the person you truly are. Whichever way the pendulum should sway." He wasn't insinuating she was one or the other, and he wasn't making suggestions. Merely addressing a truth she'd come upon, some day. His own feelings on the matter were irrelevant, as he simply wanted her to consider what she might do, for the time being. And her answer...well, that had some bearing on his own decision, he supposed.

She blinked and got a sweat drop, having a feeling that he was implying that she caught and tortured the ones who killed her dogs and butler. " Um, I never did caught them. I just tortured those that pissed me off. I'm not looking for them, why waste the energy when I know it won't bring the things I lost back. Thank you for listening, Wei-kun." She smiled, though he must notice by now that she was acting like when it came to telling the story she was like that 's**t happens' and casual about it. To most people it would seem like she probably made it up to get people to feel sorry for her.

Then a amused smirk came upon her face "I have a question, Wei-kun. How would you react if it turns out my true self loves torturing people?" She had a feeling that finding a boyfriend would be more than a little hard. Not that she really cared, she only had interest in guys that were strong in will and in power. That won't run away at the first sign of trouble. Taking another sip of her tea, she smiled softly. She was going to wait for his answer first before going on talking. She wants to know more about him anyways. Still what if her true self really enjoyed torturing people to the point of them begging her to kill them? Who would date a girl like that?

No, she can't let that show, she has to be strong. Not weak, if she becomes weak then it is all over. In this world it's the strong live and the weak die. If you are weak then you are worthless. It's simple as that in her mind and she has grown to be distrustful of most people. So far though this man, even telling him that she enjoys causing people pain, he isn't leaving or running away. 'What is he up to? All of the guys I met before would've run. That stupid machine can't be right.'

Mirai Hatto

The ugly years of being a fool...
User Image
Dot. Dot. Dot.

For a moment, there was this moment of silence, violet eyes staring at the awkwardness going on in front of her. Was this was what second-handed embarrassment felt like? Definitely.

Still, the girl giggled, perhaps sounding just a little stiff. This had been too much for her to fake entirely, one of her arms rubbing the other, a bit awkwardly. Who would have thought a rock star of his magnitude would act this way? Then again... he was still a teenage boy, so... being stupid was part of it, right? Mirai regained her composure quickly, shifting her weight from one leg to the other, one hand brushing her hair back. "Oh, Mikoto-kun... Can I call you that?" She giggled. "And you don't have to worry about rumors... my lips. are. sealed." A playful wink was sent his way, before she cleared her throat. "Oh, this is rude of me. Hatto. Mirai Hatto. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Eyes shifted to the other girl as she refused the offer, her lips pursing. What was she supposed to do now? He was going to pay for everything, right? Besides...he wasn't bad-looking. Perhaps, if she were to stop him from being awkward... she could have a nice time. Maybe. "... Sure. I'd love to."

Sayuri Misaka

Sayuri looked bored now and finished off her tea. She didn't mind the quiet guys, but this quiet was just rude to her. She was starting to feel like there wasn't much left for them to talk about. Maybe she should've went with the regular topics. Whatever, she'll find something else to do. "Forget it, that was a stupid question. Here's my number." She had wrote her number down on paper and placed it in front of the older man.

Maybe she'll try again on that stupid date game. Why did she have to get her hopes up for something like this? She was mentally scolding herself, but had a slight frown on her face. "Thank you for joining me-" She was about to excuse herself when she noticed her doberman, gave her a look on that meant that they should stay longer. She looked at him and sighed. "Actually, what kind of things do you like? What are your hobbies?" She hoped this would make her dog somewhat happy. Though she somehow doubted it.

She looked down at her dog with a slight scowl, mainly to see the pleased look on his face. 'Stupid mutt' She thought annoyed with a lot of people today and now her doberman seemed to be joining in on the action. Now was the matter on how will the quiet man across the table from her will respond.

Wei Zhijun

Well, it seemed like she had no intention of leaving. He thought perhaps she'd simply stayed for a bit out of curiosity, since he'd appeared out of nowhere. But when the opportunity presented itself for her to leave, she hesitated...and he highly doubted it was truly because she couldn't live without knowing his hobbies. "I've spent my life serving others. If you truly enjoyed hurting others, I'm not entirely sure it would be my place to intervene. Though, I think...there are enough sad people in this world as is. Increasing their number won't help anyone. You can't draw enjoyment from something that has no pros, perverted or otherwise." Wei set the cup down, thinking for a minute. It was part melodramatic nonsense, and a grain of truth. Harming someone without reason or recompense wasn't torture...it was simply lashing out in violence. The source of joy was reason and purpose...even if you had to invent one. In truth, Sayuri's own sorrowful story was laying the groundwork for his own plans even now. Had she simply said 'Goodbye' at the Group Date Cafe, he never would have gotten to know her as well as he did now...and he never would have taken an interest, either.

"There are people, on the other hand, who no one will miss. People who, in the masses' eyes, deserve whatever fate they suffer, and those who dole it out rarely receive scrutiny. There are no villains in this world, Ms. Misaka, but that doesn't stop people from pretending there are. Take the Revenge Killings in Iwatodai a few years back. A group called Strega offered to accept cash, and in return they made people's dreams of vengeance a reality. To some people they're heroes, while to others they were simply people seeking to cause others pain. And when they disappeared, no one went looking for them. Because deep down, they knew how apathetic they truly were about the people who were harmed. They were thugs, street urchins, dropouts. Even if they didn't deserve what happened, lawfully, in the end no one batted an eyelash that it happened." Wei lifted his right hand, which was covered in a few bandages, and slowly pulled back the medical tape. As he exposed the skin a long, thin cut appeared, one he must have tried to stop the bleeding for earlier. But it seemed it didn't take, and a small trickle of blood began slipping down his skin as he reached into his pocket with his other hand for a new bandage, the source of his wound unknown. "Hopefully it's not the case, but if you did enjoy causing others pain, I hope you would think about it wisely. It's true that our impulses sometimes get the best of us, but it's in controlling them that we make ourselves human. Most people would only lash out at those close to them, and cause harm indiscriminately. But there are ways to curb one's instincts, and at the same time turn it to a positive notion. Not everyone would approve of such a thing...but then, in this world it's rare that you can even please anyone. What you choose to do, how you do it...only you can decide. And that's enough, because in the end, other people's approval is a passing thing. Only you must live with the consequences of your actions...it's foolish to destroy yourself trying to change into what you can never become." Hail Hydra! Wait, what-

"Drats." Mikoto snapped his fingers when Youmu oh-so-politely turned his offer down, though he quickly turned his head to listen to Mirai's 'promise'. He caught her wink, and felt a smirk reflexively tug at the edges of his lips. "I heard that the Haunted House was extra scary this year, so I was hoping you'd tag along Yoyo. Buuut if not, I guess Mirai and I will just have to go alone." Mikoto put a thumb into his chest as he explained his bold dare to bravery, smiling confidently. Ah, the test of courage! A High School tradition, a bond forged in the vestiges of darkness itself! By surviving a horrowing with your comrades-at-arms, you opened up a- ah screw it, who was he kidding? Operation Up-Close and Personal, begin! If he could get a cute girl clinging to his arm by the end of it, then whoever the hell the Student Council President was, he'd personally go up to him and shake his hand, and probably say something like...'This Festival was a success!'. Only, you know, more original. He'd work on the phrasing later. Now then! "Besides, how scary can a Haunted House in a little school like this be? Their booth should only have like, one or two rooms to work with, right? It should be fine." To the untrained observer, it may have seemed as if Mikoto was just rationalizing it to talk the others into going. And to be fair, he was.

He was also just remembering the last Haunted House he'd been to, and how he hadn't talked to Gin for like, a week for taking him. But...this one was probably much lamer...right?

"You're right," Who would like a person who liked to torture others? Majority of the time when she does it, it was often planned before hand. She rarely did it on the spot. Also why didn't he tell her of his hobbies?! Instead of yelling at him, she couldn't take the sight of him bleeding and got out a small first aid kit and opened it up to get some disinfect pads. "Let me see." She wanted to make sure that wound will get taken care. What happened? She'll find out later. His words, she knew what he said as true.

Still though, she still has a lot of hate in her heart and it is a struggle to let it go. Can she let it go? "I believe I asked you on your hobbies and what you like to do. What you said, it's given me something to think about." She got up after getting the first aid kit and went over to Wei's side and knelt down. " Let me take care of it." She gave him the look that said 'Let me help you or I will end you.' Really sending mixed messages now. Then again that's what he gets for bleeding in front of her.

Iofiel, the Angel of Love

On the corner of the rooftop, a rather attractive young lady dressed in slightly unfashionable normal clothes quietly slapped her hands against her cheeks. "Okay, Io, you can do this!" she said. They'd resolved the issue with Zagan, and now she'd come here to meet with her... with her father. Oh, by every celestial realm, why am I so nervous about this!? He's a good guy! I know he'll smile and accept me, but... Well, coming clean was hard after so many years of just not mentioning it. She had family that didn't even know existed. She'd fought evil, challenged the forces of Law, jumped through time... her list of personal achievements was actually rather impressive, so this shouldn't have been anywhere near as difficult as it was. Of course, what 'should' have been didn't dictate was actually was, and she took a few more deep breaths as she tried to calm down. It didn't do much - she kept fretting.

The ugly years of being a fool...

"The Haunted House, huh?" A smirk curled at the corner of glossed lips. He'd be very disappointed if he believed things like this scared her. But then again, it could be fun seeing what the class had come up with this year. Last year, the Haunted House had been so boring... but a good spot to hide away from peering eyes and spend a good time with a special someone. But that wasn't here nor there. "You won't try to take advantage of a girl's frail heart in there, will you?" Mirai teased, before she started walking towards said booth. "You will at least protect me from monsters, right?" She giggled though as she turned her gaze back to the green haired boy.

When her gaze returned back to the path in front of her though, the playful smile disappeared. Monsters... She'd seen some of them...and she had promised herself she would take care of them on her own. She wouldn't let anybody take advantage of her like that again. Not Jezebel... not anybody.

The girl shook her head though, and returned her focus to the matter on hand."Unless... you want to go somewhere else? Perhaps that Dating cafe thing? Hmm?" The girl was back to her teasing self, her hands clasped behind her back as she walked.

'I hold my head up just enough to see the sky~'

"Oh, hoping for an escape? You're not afraid of ghosts, are you?" Mikoto smirked as Mirai brought up the Group Date Cafe, perhaps in a bid to wriggle out of the Haunted House. Which he probably should have accepted, but his own wicked side was getting the better of him. "My dear Mirai, I'll have you know there's not a spook in Japan that scares me. I'll make sure that nary a ghost lays a hand on you. Besides, I think a Group Date's something you only go to when you're not with someone already..." Mikoto noted poignantly, considering they were already hanging out.

He started moving down the hallway towards the Haunted House in the meantime, adding a bit of physical nature to his teasing. Each step brought them closer to the fake blood and practiced, 'undead' moans that awaited, and he was sure she'd crack anytime. That's what girls did, right? It's not like she'd seen actual monsters or anything, because those didn't exist...right? For a second a foggy image came to mind, and he raised a hand to his eye as he tried to remember, only for it to vanish. In a bid to not make things awkward, he then quickly used his hand to pull his hood back and let his unkempt green hair fall about, to try and make it look like that was what he'd meant to do in the first place. "So, which one of these is your homeroom? Wouldn't want your friends to see us together and get the wrong idea. Or would we?" Mikoto tilted his head to look at the signs as they passed, then pulled a 180 as he gave another "killer" smile to Hatto, complete with a wink. He didn't know much about her personally, but that was what first meetings were for. And after his attempted greetings with Minori...and Nix...and Boudica...and Youmu...a-and a lot of other people, he could stand to have a fairly normal day for once. Maybe now that he was hanging out with Mirai...5th(ish) time's the charm?
