Healing up his team again Simon decided to travel back to Viridian Forest to show off how Fennekin evolved. Heading back towards Mt. Moon to connect back to Pewter City. Climbing up the steps to the cave system Simon actually grew excited to catch and train Pokemon up like any other new trainer.

Soon Cerulean was upon him and Gio was exited to see it. But there seemed to be an issue with the path. It was torn up as if some kind of rock Pokemon had scraped through here. Gio wondered forwarded for abit before running into a trainer with an absolute beautiful looking Steelix. The trainer swore up and down the the Steel type was weak and that he didnt want it anymore. Gio offered to take it off the trainers hands because he loved Steel type. The other trainer more than willingly gave the Steelix to Gio and actually seemed to be happy to get rid of it. Gio on the other hand was more than happy to have it and he seemed to gleam at the ball. He planned on showing it off in Brock's Gym. By the time he made it to Jasmines Gym then it should be well full and strong.

Giovanni felt like the change in air was good for him. He wanted to go Challenge Misty right now and take on the Kanto League. At this point however he just needed to get to Brock's Gym and win like he planned on.
Up the road there was a Chansey playing. It turned to see whom was there and ran away on sight of Gio and his Lucario. It did however seem to leave something on the ground and Gio knew he wasn't just lucky to find it that it was actually a lucky egg. The first thing he thought of was giving it to his brand new Steelix. So just like that Steelix was outside its ball and using the lucky egg. Almost instantly the Steelix seemed to show growth signs and Gio was proud. Placing it back in its ball Gio made it around te edge of the city and on the final path to Mt. Moon.

Giovanni was abit upset that he had to come to a town and skip the Gym Leader. However he felt like he needed to beat Brock before hand. Now he was finally at Mt. Moon and more than ready to reach the otherside. Perhaps he would find a fossil of some ancient Pokemon from thousands of years ago. Maybe it was a Steel type and there was only one that ever existed. Gio wanted find out as soon as possible so he made the dive into Mt. Moon.

At long last Gio was in Cerulean once again. Unlike when he normally entered a City with a Gym he didnt charge straight to the Gym. Instead this time figured he would take his time to get there. Enjoy the sights for abit because it was a nice walk and he would be able to see the Cave that a super powerful Pokemon is supposedly hiding in.

Giovanni wondered if there was a secret to battling Misty. Electric attacks was clearly the answer. He had his Steelix and Lucario whom could do the job by he didnt really want to use his Lucario at all. Prehaps he would use his new Aegislash to have that Ghost Steel Advantage. Misty he believed wouldnt be to worried about his Ghost type. He might actually have to use his Lucario. Never the less, Gio felt like it was time to challenge Misty.
He stood in front of the Gym. Upon walking in there was a snake path that led up to whom Gio assumed was Misty. A ginger wearing a blue bathing suit with a blue wind breaker on. "Hey ya Misty, the Names Giovanni Versechi and Im here to prove Steel doesnt rust so easily from a little water. I challenge you!" he had decided to start with his Steelix and so it was the Pokemon that stood poised behind him

Water Pulse came and hit Steelix. It hurt, Gio could see but he still had a slight chance here. It just depended on his next move. "Alright Steelix lets go with a Thunder Fang!" the Steel snake lurched forward with jaws that were sparking. It clamped down on the water type and like back at Brock's Gym it showed Sheer Force on the chomp ignoring its other side effects.
He prepped his Skarmory's ball just incase his Steelix didnt last another turn.
(Steelix used Thunder Fang. 65 base damage at 1.3 due to Sheer Force. X2 for type matchup)

Goodness that pokemon was huge, and it knew Thunder Fang too?! Yikes! However, even though it's bite was strong the massive pokemon seemed really tired just from the single Water Pulse attack. Looking thoughtful for a moment, Misty decided to take the risk. "Not bad new face, but I think your steel snake is toast! Tackle it Staryu!" Misty commanded, the small starfish lurching forward and smacking into the Steelix. It wasn't a very effective attack, but it didn't have to be, the Steelix just needed a gust of wind and it could have toppled over, so this Tackle was more than enough force to finish it off.
Misty grinned, seeing the larger pokemon had fainted, and gave a little celebratory fist pump as she jumped a bit in the air happily. "Alright!!! Nice job Staryu~" Misty cheered, looking to Gio with a smile and her hands on her hips, seeing that he already had another pokemon in hand at the ready. He must've been expecting his Steelix to go down for the count soon. "Hm? What'cha got next for me hun?~" Misty gave Gio a flirtatious wink, but anyone who knew how tomboyish Misty could be would've been able to see that it was actually a taunt more than anything else. Though Gio was pretty handsome, Misty had to admit, mentally anyways.

Goo smirked at Misty because of her comment and because she used a tackle to finish off his Steelix. He wasn't sure if she was flirting or mocking him. Never the less the battle had to continue on. "Alright Misty, if that didnt shock you, lets just find out how high those water Pokemon can get. Go Skarmory!" he said as his Skarmory flew from its ball and soared around the Gym and the pool.
It had been a long time since someone had taken one of Giovanni's Pokemon down and while it wasn't a complete shocker he was a bit surprised he didnt take down at least one Pokemon with his Electric attacks. After all that was all it took when he faced Faulkner. Then again this was a different region and a different League all together. "Dont think that all my Pokemon will be taken down that easily, Jasmine taught me better than that" he said with confidence as he tried to plan out his next Pokemon just incase

Misty eyed the Skarmory that they were now up against. Staryu was looking pretty tired, and she didn't know what exactly the Skarmory had up its sleeve... Er... Wing. Whatever. "It's gonna take a lot more than a little shock to bring us down. Steel types are durable but so are my water pokemon!" Misty chuckled as Gio boldly insisted that she shouldn't go thinking that all of his pokemon could be taken down as easily as his Steelix had been. "Duly noted. In that case, we better replenish our health. Staryu, use Recover!" Misty commanded, since with Gio's Skarmory flying around the gym, Misty didn't want to risk a shot and missing on a moving target. Staryu glowed fainly, it's red core shining brilliantly as if it were about to evolve, but the light dimmed and the Staryu was still there, but it was looking less tired and ready for their next opponent.

Recover, that would be a moe that could hurt him in te long run Gio thought to himself. "Ok Skarmory hit that Starfish with a Swift attack!" almost at the exact same time Gio commanded it the bird Pokemon paused in mid flight and shot bright yellow stars at the said Starfish.
Gio knew it wasn't much, but to make a sculpture you need to chip at the rock. "So Misty, what other tricks are hiding under you sleeve?" it was simple banter and not even said in a mocking way for once. Giovanni just wanted to see what his opponent could do. The situation was looking grim but if he lost he would come back seven fold

Staryu took the swift attack fairly well, but it seemed like a deliberately weaker shot, like there was still something more. Misty's attention went back to Gio as he asked almost honestly what else she had up her sleeve, and the water specialist grinned, clearly welcoming the friendly banter. "Silly boy, don't you know? A magician never reveals her secrets~" Misty chuckled and turned to her Staryu. "Hit it with a water pulse Staryu!" Misty commanded. Staryu aimed carefully as the Skarmory continued to fly around the gym, but it's aim was true, smacking into the Skarmory hard and accurately, the Skarmory even seemed to be quite dazed, wobbling now in it's flight. Perhaps they had managed to confuse the bird as well?! Misty looked rather excited at the prospect.

Gio could tell his Skarmory was dazed by the Water Pulse. It was showing in the way it was flying. "Ok Skarmory try for another Swift attack". Skarmory heard the order but slammed itself into the wall in confusion. Gio frowned. He knew what had happened. "Even the best of magicians are exposed eventually." he gave a look at his Lucario. Letting him know it might be his turn next. Giovanni didnt really want to use his Lucario but he didnt see any other options except for withdrawing and he didnt plan on doing that.

Misty couldn't help but give Gio a small sly smile. "Exposed? Perhaps, but only when it's too late to do anything about it." She nodded her head to his poor Skarmory as it slammed itself into a wall in confusion. "Time to knock that bird out of the sky Staryu! Water Pulse!" Misty insisted, Staryu having an easier time hitting the Skarmory squarely when the steel type was forced to fly slowly in order to see straight. The move hit and Skarmory couldn't continue flying around, falling towards the water. "Oh shoot!" Misty cried, looking to the other swimmers watching the battle. "Nets! On the double!" She ordered, and the crew wheeled out bouey weaved nets to catch the Skarmory before it fell and sank itself into the water and drowned. Seeing that it was safe now, Misty sighed in relief. "Phew! Sorry about that! Guess we could have aimed better...." Misty ruffled her hair. Sometimes she got so into the battle that she forgot about the terrain.
