TROUBLE

Current Stamina: 2 - 1 = 1
Unlike the meeting hall's cabinets, which Kursha had yet to encounter, the intelligence office had drawers that functioned without unnecessary complications. Sliding the drawer open with a distinct lack of appreciation that could only be attributed to ignorance, the greenblood flipped through the files. Initially he thought he might have stumbled upon something good but the files were nothing more than an assortment of random trolls organised by blood hue. None of them seemed seemed particularly important. Making a sound of disgust, he forced the drawer shut.
Intelligence may have had a bunch of cool designs and gadgets, but the results of their information gathering were disappointing to say the least. So far his searches had turned up a whole lot of useless and nothing. How was any of this even relevant?
Moodily, Kursha went over to loiter by one of the work desks. He resisted the urge to rifle through the stack of papers on top. While there was potentially valuable information, he did not want to get kicked out. On second thought, if there really was valuable information there, it was entirely worth it. Casting a quick glance over his shoulder to make sure no one was looking, Kursha leaned in and began to browse through the documents.

TROUBLE Team Members: Kursha, Akko, Razzles Your Roll: 6 Current Stamina: 1 - 1 = 0 Byakko flipped through files she had read dozens upon dozens of times, hoping by some miracle, she would come across something she hadn't noticed before. As she pawed through some charts outlining the base's monthly sopor slime expenses, she couldn't help but let out a small dissatisfied sigh. While she certainly didn't have the best eye for dealing with bureaucratic paperwork, there really didn't seem to be much of a trail here. Byakko Mawiya was the kind of troll to relentlessly give it her all, 110% of the time- but she found it increasingly frustrating when she turned up empty handed over and over. She supposed the fresh minds on the case were the best solution she had, and while the rebel had faith in her recruits, the looming fear of failure still haunted and distracted her.

Stryke came back to the intelligence office in part because he'd left the area with less than satisfactory results. In fact, he’d gotten emotional over some OHC data he'd come across, and had left the room frustrated. The small kid and his lusus trailed in together, with the intent of pouring over some of those other logs he'd meant to look at before he'd gotten his nose out of joint.
Gently asking the same redblood as before if he could access logs, he was met again with a strange look. Yet the response was friendly enough, in her allowing him to proceed. Stryke thanked her politely as he dipped over to pick through some of the reports. Finding one of interest he planned to sit down and read in a corner, the young yellowblood felt his brows rise as he noted a familiar figure not that far from him.
As he approached a desk, he noted that Kursha looking rather suspicious as he cast a glance over his shoulder and picked at some stacked papers. Arching a brow at the taller troll, he quietly stepped beside him tipping his head back to look at him. "hey kursha." Stryke waved briefly at the other, his expression neutral.
"so, have you guys found anything useful thusss far?" He asked, genuinely curious and far from accusatory with the others rifling about. He'd tried giving the other space for the last few days, in hopes of trying to bridge the gap between them. Now was as good a time as ever in a small library like setting Stryke figured. It was risky, he had no way of knowing how the other would respond but the truth was simple; he was tired of walking on egg shells.

For once, Rasali was genuinely engrossed in the papers she was sifting through. Even if she was having a hard time understanding what was going on in these documents, they sure felt important. That was enough for Rasali. Besides, this was pretty much secret agent work happening right here. Whatever this stuff was, the empire would probably love to get their fishy hands all over it. Hell, the empire wished Rasali was their secret agent. Too bad, purple villains! Rasali had already chosen her side, and that side was justice.
Rasali blinked and realized she’d been flipping through the past few pages without actually reading anything. Whoops. Rasali flipped back to where she’d left off. It was something about shipments or shipping or something. Rasali grimaced when she couldn’t recognize any of the names on the page and ended up flipping even farther back to refresh her memory.
Someone else wandered into the office and Rasali looked up from her binder, grateful for the distraction from her own incompetence. Unfortunately the stranger seemed more interested in talking to Kursha. Rasali raised an eyebrow in mild surprise and turned back to the paperwork spread out before her. She wasn’t sure which suited Kursha less—engaging in casual small talk, or having friends.
The life of an agent of justice was an isolating one, but after spending as much time as Rasali had with Kursha, she couldn’t help but sense that personality may be a factor as well.

Kursha jumped like grease out of a frying pan. Whirling, his face paled. He was busted. More importantly, he was busted by Stryke. He was surprised to see that the yellowblood had the courage to approach him. Hell, he was surprised to see the yellowblood at all. He shifted uneasily at Stryke's question. His tone was friendly but there was no way Kursha believed it to be sincere. This was some kind of passive aggressive attempt to drive him mad... with guilt.
"Uh... Yeah. A couple things." Kursha said, distracted as he searched the room. His gaze settled on Rasali and he frantically waved to get her attention. "Hey Ras! Didn't you say you were hungry earlier? Since we've wrapped up here, why don't we head down to the mess hall." Turning, he walked away from Stryke without so much as a second glance.

Stryke felt his eyes fall to the floor in a downcast fashion as the other all but literally walked away from him without a single thing more to be said. He might as well have pretended like he hadn't heard him, or not have said anything. "oh...alright.." He muttered softly, reaching for his left dominate arm with his right hand. Rubbing at it a few times as he sighed.
He didn't try to stop him, nor call him back. Instead he let the other rush off in his hurry to put as much space between them as possible. fine. be that way. After everything that had happened, this was like icing on an already bad grubloaf. It was also the last straw, after all the detective work they had left to do Stryke would have to find the other, and confront him when he couldn't use his team as an excuse to rush off.
The kid wasn't even sure why he kept bothering, it was actually down right frustrating and pissed him off. He'd tried for what he thought was calm, if not down right pleasant but it might as well have been like trying to fly a lead balloon.
Gritting his teeth the kid spun on his heels storming away from the other in frustration, log books forgotten as he shoved them back where he'd retrieved them from. Stryke forgot to check himself, and even ignored his lusus's hissed warning about his outward display. No one liked to be ignored, especially so blatantly, his lusus could just deal with it.
