TROUBLE
Team Members: Kursha Vidari, Byakko Mawiya, Rasali Panaka
Your Roll: Assaulting a filing cabinet. Byakko presses charges.
Current Stamina: 1 - 1 = 0

Kursha had directed his teammates back to the meeting room for another sweep. He was confident they were missing something—possibly lots of somethings. Despite their efforts to spread out and cover as much ground as possible, they had only uncovered a few clues. Definitely not enough to form the framework for any kind of theory regarding the defectors. So, they had to keep looking. Revisiting locations they had already searched was kind of a drag, but there was little else they could do. Unless they wanted to make wild, baseless accusations and hang the wrong troll, they would need to scour every inch of the rebel base for enemy tracks. It was too bad it was such a drag.

Kursha's temper was wearing thin. He had not seen any action for nights, and the tedium of the work was beginning to get to him. Not to mention his vendetta against Rasali had reached a dead-end. He had uncovered nothing he could use against her in passing conversation. On the bright side she had not proved entirely useless. She contributed to the group and between their individual efforts they had made some progress. He could not be too sour.

His mood could very quickly change though depending on whether or not this cabinet drawer decided to open.

Kursha gave another fierce tug on the handle. The piece of s**t refused to budge.* Two minutes. He had wasted two whole minutes on this garbage and what did he have to show for it? Nothing. In a fit of pique Kursha aimed a kick at the cabinet. With his foot. His sandalled foot.

Yeah, that was stupid.

Swearing, Kursha hopped around the room on one leg. “Seriously?” he exclaimed. “How ******** hard is it to design a drawer that actually opens?” His gaze went to Byakko, who was examining the bookcase across the room. “Legs, please tell me you found something before I take a charge of C-4 to this damn thing.”

*Kursha probably struggles with all kinds of childproof mechanisms. Be kind.

After spending a considerable amount of time furthering the investigation with his team, Zeffer had decided to take a break and go off on his own for a while. It wasn't that he was tired of their company, but it was good to spend a bit of time with his own thoughts. Doing so was an activity he took for granted, he supposed, because he certainly wasn't used to living in such tight quarters with so many other trolls. He'd begun to wonder if the base was a permanent community, or if the other rebels had hives outside that they returned to on occasion. He had his doubts about the older ones, but it would be something to ask Akko about later, as a point of curiosity.

While he'd originally planned to head out and see his lusus, his wandering brought him to the meeting caverns on his way, and he had decided to dip in and see if anyone else was around. It'd been at least a night or two since he'd had the chance to pester anyone outside his team, and the sight that met his eyes as he poked his head into the room made a grin crack across his features. There was Akko, inspecting one of the bookcases, and her greenblooded teammate on the other side of the room with his back to the door, ******** around with one of the metal file cabinets. He was about to say something to Akko, until Kursha spoke up instead.

Oh. The blueblood's smile grew considerably, and a wicked, mischievous light came into his eyes. He crossed the room as silently as he could manage. "My my. Addressing our leader so informally already?" Zeffer loomed up behind the greenblood, fangs flashing as he hooked his thumbs on his belt, hands hovering near his weapons. He had a mind to give the kid a good zap, for using the nickname he had bestowed on her. He hadn't really thought of the possibility of anyone else daring to use it, and he wondered if she even tolerated it from other trolls. Honestly, it pissed him off some, but Zeffer would ******** around first before bringing the hammer down, if it came to that. It was time to see just how big this kid thought his shame globes were.

"You ought to show your superiors a bit more respect." Zeffer offered a leering grin, and reached to shut the top drawer, which caused the mechanism inside to click and unlock the bottom level. His eyes then slid over to Byakko, knowing that she'd noticed his presence by then, interested in seeing her reaction to his words.

TROUBLE
Team Members: Kursha, Akko, Razzles
Your Roll: 6
Current Stamina: 2 - 1 = 1

She hadn't minded doubling back to look through areas her team had visited prior nights. Akko was all about scrutinous habits and behaviour, after all, wasn't that attention to detail essentially the entire point of the investigation? The rebel commander certainly didn't feel confident in their findings yet, and although they were slowly but surely collecting what seemed to be relevant information, her instinct was that there was decidedly much more work to be done. She was pleased Kursha was in a similar mindset. Despite his severe need of an attitude adjustment, Byakko saw the sound reasoning behind his decisions for the group. She supposed given the right nurturing he would make a fine member of the Initiative, leader material potentially- but oh my gog, that attitude. She ignored him as he punted the cabinet and cursed. Continuing to paw through the dusty contents of a bookshelf, she silently mused to herself that it probably served him right anyway. She immediately concurred that it most certainly served him right after he addressed her as Legs once again.

Akko turned to reprimand the greenblood, low hiss vibrating in her throat, but to her utmost surprise Zeffer had slipped into the cavern undetected and beaten her to it. She baulked. W-was... Zeffer Siroco defending her? She hoovered near the bookshelf, dumbfoundedly watching Zeff grin ghoulishly in challenge down at Kursha. She had expected, without a doubt, that the blueblood would relish in the fact trolls had adopted his pet name for her- not get protective and berate others for using it. An unfamiliar warmth rushed to her scarred cheeks, accompanied by a lurch in the pit of her protein sack. Byakko rose a hand to her face... it was hot. Was she ******** blushing?! Ducking her head to hide her embarrassment, she prayed the present greenbloods hadn't seen the temporary flush of mutant pink dance across her face. What the hell was even happening to her?

As Zeffer effortlessly unlocked the cabinet Kursha had been struggling with moments ago, Byakko couldn't help but allow a crafty smile to creep across her otherwise sombre face. She wasn't sure if Zeffer was getting worked up over defending her per say, or the nickname he had coined- but regardless, she was... thankful? No, that wasn't it, it was his ******** fault it was even a thing to begin with. Relieved, maybe. At least she knew he'd jump at the throats of those who used it, aside from Aprife, and her fears of being known as 'Leader Legs' were pacified.

As Zeff's vision met her own she attempted to swallow her rare smirk down, but ultimately failed. Instead, she gave him a few short nods of... approval? Byakko's own gaze darted over to Kursha, eagerly awaiting his retort.

TROUBLE
Team Members: Kursha, Byakko, and Rasali
Your Roll: 3! Rasali clue get!
Current Stamina: 2 - 1 = 1

Rasali couldn’t decide if the meeting hall was more ominous with a waiting crowd, or empty and free to echo like the dark cave it was. The creaking wheels on the tables Rasali was pushing around sure were atmospheric. ’This place would make a neat haunted hive. Maybe if this place weren’t secret they could make some revenue off Terror Night…’

Rasali was startled out of her thoughts by banging and swearing. It was a hell of a lot more exciting than the tables. Rasali hopped over to investigate.

Ah. Just Kursha. Rasali was about to move on when the older blueblood from the opening ceremony appeared in the hall. While Rasali could certainly appreciate his badass sense of style, she couldn’t help but be relieved when he zeroed in on Kursha. She took a subtle step back from the situation. Those two seemed to have the cabinet covered pretty well.

Byakko, meanwhile, seemed more than happy to watch the scene unfold. Rasali allowed herself to feel relief on Kursha’s behalf. Mohawk-guy looked like he could punch Kursha right through if he felt like it.

”I’m just gonna… Clues…” Rasali mumbled while pointing the direction she was heading. The opposite of Kursha and Zeffer.

When an unfamiliar voice sounded directly behind him, Kursha very nearly jumped out of his skin—nearly, but not quite. Whirling, he turned to face his aggressor. It was the noisy blueblood from the meeting. Eyes narrowed, Kursha sized him up. He was older than Kursha, taller than Kursha, and higher blooded to boot. Not that any of that mattered. Kursha would stare death in the face before he so much as gave an inch.

Noting the blueblood's hands drifting dangerously close to his weapons, Kursha offered a smile. He crossed his arms, forcing himself to relax, or at the very least look relaxed. He would not be intimidated. “Just playin' around,” he said simply.

If Kursha had any sense he would have left it at that. Maybe tossed in a half-hearted apology if he was feeling especially smart, but otherwise let it go. To be fair for a half a second he considered it. That was the easy solution, the solution least likely to incur negative consequences. He quickly dismissed the idea; his pride would never allow it. He was better than that.

“Superiors, huh?” Kursha asked. He ignored the mechanical click of the top drawer as blueblood slid it shut, unlatching the one beneath. As far as he was concerned, that moment of foolishness had never happened. Additionally, he failed to notice the pink blush creeping over Byakko's cheeks, or even her embarrassed reaction at all. He was intent on the troll before him. “I was under the impression we were all on equal footing. What's it to ya anyway?”

Bring it, Mohawk.

Byakko's hiss hadn't gone unnoticed, clueing him into the fact that even she wouldn't have let it slide. When he saw the look on Akko's face, it was all he could do to keep from laughing as she granted him her approval. Eyes going half lidded, it was impossible for the blueblood to look any more smug than he already had before. Kursha was a tough little s**t, that much was apparent, and Zeffer had to admire that. But, no matter how much he was willing to stand up for himself, it wasn't going to get him off the hook. When the greenblood smiled, and claimed shenanigans, the stormchaser's grin sharpened. Smooth ********>. It could have ended there, and Zeffer would have dropped it himself, but of course, the little upstart wouldn't let well enough alone.

Zeffer was glad that wasn't the case, really, because that route would have been boring, and he could tell Kursha wasn't a boring kind of troll. Inwardly delighted when his assumption was fulfilled, he tapped his dull claws against the metal, wild eyes returning to fix Kursha with an uneven gaze. "When it comes to blood, of course we are." He leaned his elbow on the cabinet as he explained, casting another quick glance back at his blackcrush. "But you know this isn't a matter of blood." Zeffer sneered at the younger troll, once again admiring his craftiness and quick response. He'd been close, but the excuse wasn't good enough.

"It's more of a...seniority issue, y'know? Can't be pissin' off the leadership right off the bat." He rolled his shoulders slowly, huffing a laugh, because he knew it pissed her off. Therein lay the problem, because only he was allowed to do that, it was his name for her, not something for smart asses to go spouting when they felt like causing trouble. Zeffer wondered if Kursha would allow it to escalate, and didn't care either way, because posturing in front of Akko was quite the thrill. As much as he could see himself liking Kursha, the kid served as a fine tool, for the moment. "Besides, only I'm allowed to call her that. If she doesn't end up kicking your a** for it, I will." He was still grinning (albeit in a sinister way), as if he hadn't just laid down a direct threat.

Was he really going to try and pull that "seniority" s**t?

A muscle in Kursha's neck tightened. Talk about a cheap move. It was a near sure fire win, and unless he thought of something quickly, he would have to concede and back down. But every comeback that sprang to mind sounded petty and childish. Kursha studied the blueblood a moment, searching for some kind of vulnerability, a weakness that he could exploit. It was not easy. If the scars on his face meant anything, he was a tough piece of work. He had a history. More worrisome than the scars though was his expression. He had the power and he knew it. His idiotic grin exuded confidence.

The ******** b*****d was probably getting off on this.

With that realisation, any small chance there was for Kursha to back off went out the window. He did not care if that fell exactly into Zeffer's plans. He would make this a*****e regret not taking him seriously.

“First I'd ever heard of any... special circumstances like that. Why don't we ask the boss herself?” Without his eyes ever leaving Zeffer, Kursha called over his shoulder to the mutantblood. “Oi, Legs! Any merit to what Mohawk says? You really let him call you that?” Though the grin had returned, he was watchful. At the slightest move from the blueblood he was prepared to grab his gun and start a little hell.

Byakko's flickering smile waned as Zeffer and Kursha's bickering grew more heated, unsure if she should step in and intervene before the sparks grew- but she silently enjoyed the show nonetheless. It was amusing in a sense, watching the two challenge one another with their sly little comments, and Akko couldn't help but wonder how the two would ultimately get along. While her blush had long since faded she continuously watched Zeffer preen, given Kursha had his back turned to her, brows raised as she rubbed sheepishly at the hotness stinging the back of her neck. This was different.

"E-eh." Akko let out a small irresolute mumble at first as Kursha addressed her, simultaneously calling Zeffer's bluff. "I can't say I let him call me that..." trailing off, she shrugged at the blueblood unapologetically. She couldn't grant Zeffer that much leeway. It might have been a cute nickname in his opinion, but she wasn't keen on anyone using it, period. "But I suppose the a** kicking part holds some merit." The smirk briefly returned as Byakko's eyelids slitted pointedly at Zeffer. While it had just dawned on her that she kinda liked the nickname in some sort of shut-up-or-I'll-rip-your-face-off-blackrom way, she sure as hell wasn't going to inadvertently grant him permission to use it. If he could preen, so could she. "The same goes for you too, Zeffer, don't forget." She added the threat in more for Kursha's sake than to make a point to her blackcrush; he knew first hand what repeatedly calling her Legs resulted in, after all.

"How about no one uses that name?"

Of course it was the first time he'd heard of it, because who could have known aside from the two of them? Zeffer could only laugh as Kursha turned back to check with Akko, fingers drifting closer and closer to one of the batons on his belt. He itched to give the kid a zap for his trouble, but refrained for the moment, grin deepening as Byakko addressed the issue. "Of course she doesn't let me." He hissed, a dark chuckle rumbling in his throat as Akko confirmed it, meeting her gaze with an amused look of his own. It wouldn't be worth defending it if she did, and as she went on to threaten him playfully, his voice rose in another gruff laugh.

"Yeah, that plan sounds fine to me, Legs." Zeffer bared his teeth down at Kursha, tearing his gaze from Byakko long enough to fix the greenblood with a manic smirk. "Unless you wanna test your luck." Zeffer's eyes narrowed as he baited the kid, eager to see how he'd respond.
