Moot Moose

I had the same problem with "adult" specific RP sites.

Same thing happened when I joined a general RP forum, the one I was on had a large pre-teen / teenage membership and I never fit in. I ended up making like 8 different accounts and trolled myself in their live chat until they banned me. I would run each account on a different browser and just watch people pick sides depending on which account persona they liked better! >D It was glorious, a few of my friends from that site just loved watching the train wreck I would create! XD

The site I mentioned before you know about it, good old wtf! >D

LORD that makes too much sense lmfao.
I kind of dropped off the face of that one. The format never really appealed much to me, to be honest.

That and we lost a couple of the old crew (due to time and the likes).

It sounds like a ******** hoot though. Man, I wish I had stuck around to see that. Though, from the looks of it now, its pretty dead.

Oh the trolling thing was on another site rpnation. Lots of 13-17 yo kids on that site, lots of stupid kid drama. They have a built in chat on the site, it's horrible for drama and it makes it EASY AS ******** for mods to ban people (because people just talk and they are so strict about their rules that almost anything someone disagrees with can get you in trouble). So I trolled for the sake of it because there was nothing else to do on the site. I am horrible.

On WTF I was the cause of the mod/user fallout. One of the users started a personal attack against me and I left. Once things cooled down a lot of people just left, the atmosphere of WTF was different by that point.

I like WTF's system, like adore it, like I want it on ALL rp sites in some shape or form because I think traditional static forums just aren't dynamic enough for roleplaying . . . we totally need better forum systems in place for RPing.

So... I'm Prince (or Jing) and I'm bad with writing introductions (too lazy to try too much)... Sorry.

Anyway... I'm looking forward to writing with everyone!

The rpnation site I was on tried a similar system, but it was more like Gaia guilds in a lot of ways. Lot of threads, no real layout in place to organize stuff . . . it was an attempt, but not quite there.

Then the person who original wrote the code for the system was found guilty of attacking the source site where he sold the code . . . and people were advised to stop using the code because of a glitch he wrote into the code (******** with the host sites code or some jazz).

So they had to drop the system anyways and return to traditional forums . . . so that sucked.

Then I got banned because of aforementioned trolling and the fact that the site owner had a bit of a sore spot for me and like 8 other users . . . we were all eventually banned! >D

Ahhh, all right, I see now.

The one particular thing that I liked at WTFrpg was the ability to make character applications that could be applied to any (potential) role play. Like a catalog.

I'm so used to how Gaia runs through forums(and by extension, in similarity with tumblr), that its difficult to find a handle on it.

There just isn't that community for 'mature' and 'serious' role players, at least not from what I see, and certainly not on Gaia (not to say there aren't, but certainly not to the extent which I'm sure we're accustomed to, regarding the age restrictions).

That is also to say, its difficult, at least from my experience, to find thought out and engaging role plays that don't die before they're born.

For it's finding people that just mesh well with me.

Most of my RPing of late has been pretty feel good, someone gets laid, character driven sort of stuff. Preferably with a group that just gets along, has fun, talks OOC, and generally meshes well.

Fairly reminiscent of how I use to RP back when I started Gaia in 04.

Like it's serious, in the sense that people are dedicated, but not so serious that it becomes a chore.

Feel good RPing because we want to RP and like each other as people.

I really liked the setup of WTF (yeah, I'm just gonna creep into your convo, lol), but I wasn't a fan of the community. Even before the drama, the scene didn't click with me. So, not that broken up when I left... the second time, haha.

That as well, definitely. I've only really had a handful of partners to role play with that I have a lot of fun/mesh well with. (Hence me coming back to Gaia in particular, since this site is my roots yah)

I really miss group role playing as well. Most of the stuff I do now-a-days is one on one (and mostly slice of life which becomes rather tedious). That is to say, I'm really excited to be getting into a community based on forums again. At the least, its open for more interaction.

@FSP: I know what you mean the community was never much . . . but the system, that damn system I want it wherever I roleplay . . . I just loved how organized it was and how things laid out . . . just ARUGH.

I've been on four sites that have attempted it, after leaving WTF, and none of them hit the mark . . . makes me danm sad.

Yeah last group RP was the domestic gangster one on WTF.
It just sort of died because players disappeared, as usual.
Tika stuck it out, we sort of took it and made it into a one on one.
Not as fun anymore though, like we had a great dynamic going . . . but
dunno just not the same.

Otherwise yeah I do one on ones, it's hit or miss. Every year or so I catch a good partner, we go strong for a month or two and then drift off.

I pop in and out of Gaia . . . I don't really do the group thing on here . . . i usually try to take it offsite, just to avoid the PG13 thing.

I've always been tempted to try a thing on skype with multiple group conversations for scenes and s**t. Make a dedicated RP-skype account for the RP! >D

But I doubt anyone would even bother . . . QQ

I guess I really just want different systems besides threads. I just find them so blase tbh.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 02, 2015 9:29 pm

        @ MOOSE :

For me, Gaia is just where the heart is.

Even if it lacks a sophisticated role-play system, it's where I first started role-playing. Plus, I grew up with the site; there's sentimental value littered everywhere... Sort of, lol.

Also, it's hella weird to write "moose." Totally not use to it, haha.

The PG rating is a b***h and I completely understand.
I'd do skype but I find it more convenient to do shorter replies rather than go into detailed paragraphs, since Skype's built to be for simple exchanges.

That and it'd require me to make a separate account and idk how I'd feel about logging in and out ;P (that and I tend to forget group rps on Skype exist oops).
