Perhaps Ever should have attacked: defense at his back, and he had been hitting hard. But the nagging feeling in the back of his mind, Amory's frantic insistence that his charge was a good idea couldn't be ignored --
and so, pausing for a breath, Ever released it. And, really, it wasn't a terrible idea.
It just wasn't the best one, when they were so battered.
"I'll keep attacking."

"I saw my sisters......they're blaming me." The weeping voice explained out of responsibility. "I can't fight my own sisters, I can't!" Her head shook in firm reluctance. Yet, somehow deeply inside, she knew they wasn't them, her sisters would never hurt her, they always gave her smiles.
Dylon made a good point to enlighten the messy mind, she would never hurt her sister (and you did), but not other monsters. She ran to Ever and swung her hammer, leaving the ghosts of her beloved one behind and out of mind.
The legs still shaking, jaws quivered even she wasn't talking, tears left on her face crawled like the path left by nails. Luckily, she didn't do make up or else her face would be a messy color canvas, in a muck.
"Don't worry about it, Shu. Let's get through this as a team, okay?" Dylon assured her, switching from Ever back to defending the little one. "If you guys feel faint, let me know. I have one heal I can use." HP: 24/ 50 Defending Shu: 4 Charge: 3/3 [Heal is charged and ready]

"I'm a bit..." Ever was, actually, feeling a bit faint -- but even as he said it, he swung out at something in the mist and connected solidly. The contact brought with it a rush of energy, something that brightened his expression and then turned him determined, turning to fight whatever would come at him next.
"I'm fine." He wasn't, not really. But that was hard to realize with the buzz of a successful charge running through him.

Dylon was worried for Shu. She just didn't seem like she could handle a mission situation at all. Ever seemed to be okay. At least that's what he said.
So, Vahn's runes glowed a bright cyan as Dylon hovered an orb under his weapon over Shu's head. "This'll help. You can do this!"

This was not the best mission Ever had been on, and as he swung -- the last of the thrill from his charge fading away as his blade barely skimmed across something in the fog -- it finally clicked just how damaged his own shield was. He licked his lips, floundering a bit, trying to find another hunter in the fog.
"...maybe I should defend a bit." He sounded tired, now, blinking. He could swear the faces in the fog were familiar, now, though he couldn't exactly place them.
To Dylon's disappointment, Shu wasn't the normal cheerful Shu, she was indulged and haunted by the past. It wasn't her best performance, it was ashamed. She couldn't reply to Ever even she heard him calling, she could feel her sisters behind, staring at the murderer who took their lives with great prosperity.
The self-imposed conviction torn her mind down, malfunctioned. On one side, she knew she should brace up and protect her friends. On the other side, she was guilty she was still surviving while they were not.
The promise was buried under million tones of earth of culpability.
She bit her lips until it bled, pain could assist her to keep her sanity, yet she felt the hammer so heavy to lift up to deliver a strong smash.

Shu was a mess, and Ever was losing his strength rapidly. Dylon felt this mission was going to be lost.
"Okay." He replied to Ever, stepping away from Shu and assuming an attacking position. Maybe they could still do this.
<> Vahn grumbled.
Dylon swung at more apparitions anyway.

He'd been searching for Shu, yes, but when Ever found Dylon in the mist, that was just as much a relief -- a hand brushing against his shoulder, snatching away, and then realizing it was another hunter, not a ghostly apparition.
"I'll get your back for a bit." He looked bruised, tired, but the fog covered most of that -- and as something came toward them, he reached out quickly to knock it back.
Z was quiet, unusually quiet when Dylon was encouraging. He wasn't howling or cursing, he didn't say anything to the girl in agony. The two hunters left her, one attacking while another in the defense, Shu just continued to sit on the cold ground, doing nothing but crying.
It would be what's going on if a icy chill not stabbing her soul like a ice pole through her poor mind.
It was merciless and cold, she called: Z? There was no reply, only awkward silence. She called again, walking out of the misery. It was worried that the beast wasn't relying, it wasn't the noisy beast she understood. Z? Please.
<...Are you gonna let them die here? Like your sisters.> That was what she got after several attempts. The words hit her greatly, she knew the answer well. He knew she knew it, he didn't need to say more.
She grabbed her hammer up with a firm force, taking the empty space not filled with Ever. "Sorry" She apologized, voice as light as a fragile feather.
Dylon swelled with importance and purpose. His team members were relying on him, defending him. With his back being guarded by his team, he threw himself into the willowy and foggy fray.
"Thanks guys!" He smiled, slashing at an apparition that lunged from the murk.

"Shu!" he caught sight of her, briefly, through the fog -- and it made Ever blow out a slow breath of relief. Of course, then he saw her again in the fog, mouth gaping horribly as she came at Dylon, and he was forced to swat the figure back, with a long slow shudder.
"We're not doing great. Are you still alright, Dylon?"

"Mr. Ever?" She heard Ever calling her name, but she couldn't see the man through the densely distributed fog. They were like alive creatures, deliberately blocking her vision and thus hindered their reunion. The petite Death could only depend on the beast's sense of other FEAR, like smell, they were all slightly different. he huffed, but didn't refuse the sniffing job.
Thus, the monster coming to Dylon from her side was blocked, hammer collided with something making the grief seed bell rang, but nothing could be spotted. However, it was the only thing she could do at that time, her attack was weak and futile. "Are you two still alright?" she called out, hoping they could hear.
"I'm still okay! Don't over exert yourselves, okay?" Dylon wasn't a very good fighter, but he gave his all. He did his best to navigate the fog, slashing away at the figures he made contact with.
"You guys are good at this! I ought to take pointers."
