Glass, it always sounded like glass breaking to Abbi, and she hopped back a few good paces to put some distance between them. In a show of good faith she desummoned her scythe too, hands poised for a long moment in the air as it faded and Viveca grumbled in her head that she had been wasted for most of the battle.
The declaration that Claude's brother had been found made the small girl leap into the air, both hands clenched under her chin in the most extreme form of excitement. "THAT'S AWESOME!" Truly and wholly she was pleased to hear the story had a happy ending. Her own did not, it was always lonely and Abbi figured it always would be. But if someone else could be happy, if someone else could find someone they missed and had been searching for, that was a sort of small victory too. "Who is he? Is he doing well? He has to be, I totally bet he is. That's so cool, I'm so glad to hear it!"

This girl definitely had enough enthusiasm this one spar to last Claude the next five years. "Lex Jamil. Life Division." She replied. "He's fine."
More than fine really, that smug b*****d.

If Claude thought Abbi had enough enthusiasm for the next five years, she was sorely mistaken. Upon hearing that it was Mr. Cool Guy Who Promised Ice Cream Lex himself, Abbi nearly lost her mind, thus proving that she had enough enthusiasm for the whole Island of Deus twice over.
A loud scream, an altogether happy one, left Abbi and she jumped around in a high circle, clearly the kind of girl used to jumping given the height she was getting. "OHMIGOSH OMIGOSH OHMIGOSHHHH!! LEX IS SO SO SOOOOO COOL, HE'S TOTALLY BOSS! AND HE'S YOUR BROTHER WOW WOW WOOOOOOW THAT'S SO AMAZING!" Her hopping around ceased and she clapped her hands together, practically sparkling at Claude. "I've met him! He's really nice and we went on a mission together and he was super awesome and a great guy. You're probs really proud!"

Claude quirked a brow at her as she screamed. She almost sounded like a groupie...and the thought both amused and repulsed her at the same time, especially in regards to Lex. "It's a good he's not currently here." Claude drawled, hooking her thumbs into her pockets. "His head would swell hearing you go on about him."
Of course, being his sister, she had to be all tsundere about him. She agreed with everything Abbi said though. On the inside. Lex was pretty boss, and yeah, she was really proud.

Swinging rapidly from excited joy to excited astonishment, Abbi wagged a finger at Claude in reprimand. "Whaaaat?! That's not true at all! He's super chill, he's like... Totally the cool guy type." But she saw what you were doing there, Claude.
Like the true weeb she was, Abbi could sniff out a tsundere a mile away. With a grin she sidled closer to the girl, tilting to one side so that her pigtails swung out from her body. "He's older than youuuuuu and you're jelly~" With a hop she righted, her hair fluffing up and falling. "No need to be jelly! You are super capable and cool too! You almost beat me, and I'm Intermediate! Very impressive."

"Mn." Oh...if only Abbi knew. If only Abbi knew how much of an ego Lex had that could be stroked. Claude remained silent on the matter though. After all, that was to be kept between siblings, and not a matter to be aired out in such a public setting.
She then let out a soft snort, eyeing the girl as she came closer. "I'm not jealous he's older than me." By six years...she was enjoying being twenty, thank you. "Thanks, I suppose."

Super tsun. But Abbi was alright with that, there was only so much ground one could cover with a tsundere in one day. They were long projects, and she dearly loved a challenge. Rocking back on her heels the girl hummed happily, walking a wide circle around Claude before she spoke.
"Maybe not... But hey, you're a good fighter! That's super valuable on Deus." She hopped to a stop, saluting the woman quickly before she gestured randomly. "So you wanna go get a snack orrrrrr you wanna part ways as unlikely friends?"

Abbi complimented her on being a good fighter, and Claude felt like that couldn't be further from the truth. She had gotten lucky this time, she felt...but she did hang in there pretty long for a fight with an intermediate...
A talkative hyperactive one.
Instead of answering Abbi's question though, she asked one of her own, suddenly reminded of the girl's division. "Do you partner with a Sun?" She asked, curious.

This was not the question Abbi wanted to be asked, this was the exact opposite of things she wanted to be asked.
A deep, very teenager, combination sigh and moan left the girl and she waffled around, throwing her hands against her face in woe. Of all the questions, Claude asked this one. "Nooooooooooooooo!" For a few seconds she teetered on each foot, back and forth back and forth, until she settled and huffed, crossed her arms and continued to pout. "There are lots of cute Suns, but they all pair off with someone else... And none of the guys think I'm cute, and there aren't a lot of girl Suns who take someone else as a partner so... No." Forever Alone, the one meme Abbi actually embodied. Hashtag so sad.

Well this was interesting. Claude quirked a brow at her. She seemed to have finally popped a hole in that bubbly attitude with a simple curious question.
"...I woke up a new hunter. Goes by Ace. Sun. He's tall and he has a scythe for a weapon as well." Claude commented...and maybe offered to Abbi? Claude's brow fell, and her expression fell back into her usual neutral expression. "Are you good at defending?"

Clearly defensive, Abbi crossed her arms and looked the part of tsundere this time round, avoiding the woman's gaze and focusing more on the ground. There was a particular clump of grass her foot seemed intent on dislodging. "What's he look like? ...Most people don't go around the Island with their weapons summoned." She sounded pouty, but the opportunity was there and no one had wanted her before. It would be remiss to admit that she would have liked a partner, especially to someone like Claude, but even if this Ace didn't want a Moon ally, they could probably do with a friend. Especially so soon after waking up. "Not really." Here Abbi lost all the wind from her win, letting her shoulders slump and her expression fully drop. Maybe that's why no Suns wanted to pair with her, she focused on healing and attacking equally. An attack based ally wouldn't want someone stealing their limelight or someone who was too busy watching their own back to watch two backs. "My specialization is in healing, not really defense... In a battle I... I get more excited to fight than to defend... I can do it, its not like I'm bad at it... I just... I'd rather make sure everyone is ok and fight when I can rather than just to keep the enemy at bay... Yanno?" Not expecting a Sun to understand, Abbi still posed the question and hoped.

"Dark hair. Spiked. Bangs and ponytail are pink and blue. Wears clown make up. Paints his nails." Claude drawled. "There's another Sun who needs a Moon as well. Cameron. Also tall. Red orange hair. Aviator coat. Glasses. Always smirking." Also her room mate, but she didn't care to share that bit of information with Abbi. When Abbi came clean about how she really felt though, Claude quirked a brow at her, and was silent as she listened. The trainee shifted her weight to one leg, her thumbs still hooked into her pockets. When she was finished, Claude gave a nod of her head. Talking about duty practices, something logical, had the usually silent trainee speaking up more. "I understand." She replied simply. After all, just because she was a Moon didn't mean she had to pair up with a Sun for defense. It made perfect sense for her. "If that's your intention, why do you care to have a partner then?" Claude asked. "If you want to specialize in being an EMT, then having a partner you'd have to watch out for would only hinder you."

The dyed hair, the painting of the nails, Abbi didn't care about that. She wasn't one to judge what people did with themselves given that she freely gave herself over to The Feels and did things like cuddle with a three foot tall bear she kept in her room on a regular basis. But she did draw one line in judgement, and that was when general practicality was sacrificed. "Clown make-up?" Her eyes crinkled in confusion and both hands lifted as though she were going to put them against her head, but never got there. "That's so... That takes so much time! And it would get smudged in battle... Or melt off... I don't... Wha... How?" The mention of another Sun mostly passed her by, she would ask after him if she could figure out this clown make-up thing first. Blue eyes blinked in surprise and shifted to the woman when she said she got the girl's meaning. But a second later Abbi once again let any excitement over being understood whoosh from her, shoulders sagging before they jumped up in a shrug and righted out. "Just seems nice... Know somebody's got your back, know they're more than just a good friend." So maybe she was mildly confusing the term partnering, but at the same time she completely understood. Comrades were more than friends, after all.

Claude's unimpressed look spoke volumes in regards to Abbi's questions and confusion. Don't know. Don't care. To each his own. Clearly. It was here though, Claude gave Abbi a flat look. "You're sentimental." She told the girl. "Some Moon and Sun partnerships have nothing to do with being friends, much less more than good friends."

"I know that!" Abbi snapped back with a dramatic roll of her eyes, sighing heavily. "Still nice to hope for." She settled on in a quieter tone, a pout forming as she thought over a few things. But it wouldn't do her any good to show Claude that she felt lonely and, in an effort to regain her former chipperness, the teen hopped in place. "Thanks for sparring with me! You wanna go grab something to eat?" The offer would surely be rebuked, but Abbi felt it was worth asking.
