Ingvar and Cirano are both convinced that releasing Grumblejack is the right course. Ingvar made an attempt to pick the lock with improvised tools, but failed. Cirano can attempt to do so. EDIT: 12 +3 (DEX Bonus) -2 (Improv. Tools) = 13 Failed.

You only have +1 modifier for DEX. However, it doesn't really matter down on this floor. The guards are super lax at the moment, with only a few actually at their stations. So, long story short: Malphas is successful in proceeding stealthily towards the stairs. Feoric must refer to the main thread : )
