Prompt Response: It had to be one of the most beautiful things that Stella had ever seen in her entire young life. She had seen puppets before, as there were many that came through to stay in the Orphanarium, but never like this.
This puppet hung from golden strings, and even the wood that held it up was painted purple and gold. The figure itself was made from wood too, but its eyes were made from glass, or so said the shopkeeper in passing. It was a puppet imitation of a Bolf. As Stella had never seen a real Bolf before, she was fascinated.
It was painted in bright blues, purples, and accented in gold and yellow, and how marvelous it looked! Its wings looked as though they had been patterned after the starry sky, similar to how her brother's wings reminded her of the moon. Oh! Wouldn't it just be so wonderful if she could take this prize back to her brother and Sofia and show it off? Surely they would love it just as much as she did!
Without much thought into how she would get the puppet down, Stella jumped forward with her paws outstretched towards the peg it hung upon. Unfortunately, her front paws became tangled in the golden string and soon both the cub and the puppet came crashing to the ground. She let out a loud exclamation as she fell and landed directly on top of the puppet. Its wooden snout jabbed her into the side and then see felt it give way a little.
Gingerly, she got up, for her flank was rather sore, and she pressed her wings to her sides when she saw the damage that had been done. Stella became very small as the shopkeeper rushed up to see if she was alright, and she slunk back as he saw the broken wing of the Bolf puppet. The shopkeeper didn't look entirely surprised, but it was clear he wasn't happy as he looked upon Stella, who couldn't bring her gaze to his eyes.
After no verbal apology was produced, the shopkeeper sighed and shook his head, helping untangle Stella's paws from the strings. He stepped back and turned around. He told the young cub to pick up the broken toy and follow him. When Stella stared at him in confusion, he added that the break didn't look like it couldn't be fixed, and he would show her how to remedy the situation. As an afterthought, he added that he wouldn't be able to sell the Bolf to another now, so if Stella came by to help him work for a while, she could bring the repaired toy home with her.
With glowing eyes and a warm tingling in her paws, Stella found herself needing no more explanation. She snatched the puppet up, careful not to get tangled in it again, and held it high, trotting after the shopkeeper with a new found spring in her step, the pain in her side gone.
