Having nearly stopped herself on the trunk, she turned her attention momentarily to the people below. They were all scrambling around, why? She wasn't really falling, just sliding! No harm in that, right? Besides, she was only six feet or so from the ground, now, still a bit to drop but at least not so deadly as before. "Uh, uh, you guys I'm fine, I swear!" Well, other than for her poor hands and feet, which were all scratched and scraped up and beginning to bleed due to her misuse of them while trying to get a grip on the tree. "I'm sorry for causing so much chaos..." Moaning softly to herself, she didn't look forward to facing the disappointment of her comrades, or so she feared, at least.
The cheetah couldn't help but stare as the purple creature almost...danced about? What was she meaning to do, anyways? And her sister, hm, how odd. Easing herself down the side a few more feet, she couldn't bear to hold on any longer. "Erk." With a loud plop she fell to the ground, landing on her behind, luckily, the most padded portion of her body! Sah really hadn't fallen that far at all, but she knew that she would still have rather distinct aches in the morning, and that her hands and feet would need to be bandaged. But it was over, so, time to find something new! "Okay, so, who wants to go for a walk or something?" Grinning, it was apparent that the cheetah didn't dwell, which was good, of course.

She was really okay! Anoki nearly cried from relief as Sahra reached the bottom, seemingly unharmed. He probably wouldn't have been able to do that, but she just slid down like it was nothing! She didn't even need their help, which was a little disappointing, but probably a good thing. "You m-made it! T-that w-was s-s-so c-cool!"
But then... she wanted to go for a walk? Immediately Anoki retracted, visibly shrinking into himself. He wasn't too sure he wanted to go walking with everyone. Indi was cool, and the other two seemed nice, but dealing with all of them together was a little daunting. The fact that it would probably be safer in a group didn't even occur to him, just that so many people made him scared.
"I d-dunno," he said, barely audible. With everything calmed down and no one in imminent danger, his adrenaline level was dropping, and his courage along with it.

"Ahh!" Indigo fell over smack on her tail in her haste to get back out of Sahra's way as the cheetah girl slid down the tree. She blinked once, suddenly afraid she'd let the other girl fall to her broken bones, before shaking her head and giving a twitch of her antennae. "--whoa. You slid down! That's really cool!" Surging back to her feet, she pattered over to investigate the cheetah. "You're okay, right? A walk--"
She paused, glancing over at Anoki as he demured and frowning, her antennae drooping. "Uhm," she stalled for time. Time in which she noticed the sound of birds chirping--several of them--rather frantically. Looking away from Anoki and Sahra to where the sound was, the velvet worm blinked once more, before her expression became one of dismay.
The bird's nest had fallen down with the wreckage of the branch, leaving the baby birds without a home and their parents fluttering around frantically. "Oh no," Indigo said, in a hushed voice. "Oh..."

Gabby was so surprised by Sahra's sudden and near perfect landing that all she could do was stare up in awe, still jumping from foot to foot. "Oh Sah-la! Das was so amazing!" She screeched when the girl was standing save and steady on the ground again and Gabby clapped her hands enthusiastically, laughing happily. "We didn't even have to catch you, so fast you went! You did it all alone!" She dove forwards, wrapping her little hands around Sahra's neck, clinging to the cheetah. She then turned her head, smiling brightly to the other two. "You two still haven't said the names! I'm Gabby!" She paused, eyes darting back and forth between the two.
The young lovebird finally let go again of her sister, landing on the ground with both feet, eyes widening when she heard the hushed 'oh no'. Gabby followed the purple girl's gaze towards the nest and jumped up when she saw the devastated nest, an expression of pure shock on her face. "...Oh no!" Galloping over towards the nest Gabby knelt down, calling back to her friends to come and help her. "We cannot leave them! It are birdies, just like me! We have to help!" Gabby felt as if it was her very own responsibility to fix the nest and make a new home for these baby birds. The bird in her knew that she had a lot of common with these little creatures and she ruffled her wings restlessly, carefully picking up the loose branches while making sure the babies would be okay.
"Don't worry. We will make you a new nest. An even nicer one. I promise..and if it won't work, you can always live with me and momi-eh." Gabby muttered to herself while thinking of a way to fix the nest again and restore the home of these poor birds. Everything had a solution; Sahra had just proven that by being able to slide down alone. They'd find a way to make this work as well! Yep, Gabby was sure of it, positive little thinker.

"No!" Anoki finally noticed the birds, and hurried over to the branch. They must have fallen too! They looked okay, but they were cheeping so loudly. Maybe they were crying, and he just couldn't tell. And if they were crying they were probably hurt. Hurt people had to go to the doctor, but was there a bird doctor?
"W-we should g-get a grown-up," he said firmly, then drooped a little. It would take ages for a grown-up to get there. Besides, the grown-up might think that they were bad for knocking the nest down, and then they'd all get in trouble.
There had to be something they could do for the birds by themselves. But what? One of the girls- who looked like a bird herself- suggested making a new nest. But another pointed out that they would have to get it back in the tree, and that would be difficult. Unless... "M-maybe we c-could m-make a n-n-new nest and p-put it i-in a s-smaller t-tree?"

"Oh, Sahra, your hands--!" One thing after another. Indigo's lower lip trembled as she looked between the cheetah girl and the fallen-down nest. Of course Sahra couldn't climb back up the tree, and it wasn't really her fault, anyway. "--besides, it's not your fault! You didn't mean for the branch to break." Clear-cut case, right? So was... Indigo's expression of dismay turned into one of determination. Anoki's arm was hurt, Sahra's hands and feet were all cut up, and Gabby was too little to fly. That left Indigo.
"I can do it," the velvet worm said, stepping forward and kneeling down next to the nest. "I can climb up there! I've got four hands, I don't need to use all of them to climb." She looked over Anoki as he spoke up, her antennae drooping suddenly. "You think so? I mean, you think we should get a grown-up?" That would take forever. Indigo chewed at her lower lip, looking back at the nest full of squeaking baby birds.
A smaller tree did sound like a good idea, though. "Would the parents still be able to find them if we moved the nest to a littler tree?" she asked aloud, looking over at Anoki. "I mean, it would be easier for me to climb..."

By the time the others had had their say, Anoki was convinced that going for an adult was a bad idea. He definitely didn't want to get yelled at, and he didn't want any of the girls to get in trouble either. "F-fine," he nodded. "N-no gr-grown-ups. B-but c-can we d-do it b-b-by ours-selves?"
Apparently not. Even though Indigo was volunteering, and Anoki knew her to be surprisingly resilient, he was reluctant to let her do something like that by herself. The bird-person was too hyper to really focus, and the other girl... was hurt. Looking at the scratched and sore paws with dismay, Anoki looked for something he could do to help. He didn't have much on him, other than his clothes and food. The paper bag he had packed his snack in wouldn't help much. And even if he wanted to take off his shirt, he couldn't do it by himself because of the cast.
There was one more thing he had, though. Anoki tugged at the fabric around his arm, finally pulling the knot that held his sling together loose. Getting it over his head by himself would have been next to impossible, but luckily Mahou didn't tie it tightly. The sudden slack caused his weighted arm to drop fast, pulling Anoki down several inches, but he recovered and tried to see how it felt. Without the sling, holding up his arm was difficuly, and a bit uncomfortable because of the way the cast bent the limb. But it didn't really hurt all that much, and the other girl could probably use the cloth more.
"H-here," he said, holding out the sling with his good hand. The ibex was tipping to the left a little, but otherwise didn't seem to mind giving up the fabric.

While the others rallied around Sahra, Indigo--at a loss for what to do after her firm declaration of action dissolved into indecision--bent down to retrieve the nest, cupping it carefully in her uppers. She couldn't help but peer down at the cheeping baby birds, who fluttered wildly but couldn't do too much to get away from the giant face looming over them. "Oh," the velvet worm managed at length. "You're all so...tiny..."
Anoki's question of whether they could do it by themselves made Indi look up from contemplating her handful of birdsnest, face set in an expression of determination. "'Course we can! We're big kids--it's not like it'll be hard!" Seeing that the others were otherwise occupied (and therefore couldn't stop her), she turned to look for the nearest easy tree she could find. No, not that one, the bark was flaking, nor that one, it didn't have any easy branches in reach...
"Ah!" she exclaimed, before marching over to a big knotted oak. Carefully as she could, so not to drop one of the little birds, she transfered the nest to her lower hands. Then she looked up the tree, gray eyes narrowed with concentration, before she began to climb.

Mostly ignoring Gabby's looming over her, Sahra's attention was fixed on Indigo. Watching her every movement, wanting to be ready in a moments notice if she should have to suddenly spring forward to help. What was she doing? Just going up without even saying anything? What if something happened to her, what would she have done in that situation had everyone been preoccupied and not paying attention to her? "Ack." Twitching nervously, the cheetah scooted herself along the dirt a few feet towards the oak tree Indigo was now in.
Refusing off Gabby, she didn't want to get up unless she really had to, and that meant only in an emergency, of course. "Mrrr-rur." Mewing, she cocked her head back towards Anoki, seeing the piece of fabric being offered to her. She stared in question, ears flicking slightly, tail wrapping around her legs. "You don't hafta give me that!" She tilted her head, quickly calculating that he was standing on an angle, which meant no good. "I'll be fine~!"
And then she realized she had done what she hadn't wanted to; she took her attention off of the purple girl! Twisting her head back around to again view the oak tree, she saw that nothing had gone wrong, yet, and she hoped it would remain that way.

It was hard to watch Indigo climb the tree, and while Anoki wanted to look away, he couldn't. He was afraid that if he stopped watching she would fall or drop the nest, or worse. Luckily his attention was slightly diverted, so he could keep an eye out without paying too much attention. First there was the bird-girl, who was steadying him. Anoki gave her a smile of gratitude, but it dropped when the hurt girl didn't take his sling.
"It's ok-kay," he insisted. "S-sorry I c-can't wr-wrap f-for you." He gave a apologetic look, stepping closer to Sahra. It was okay, in his mind at least. He was only slightly off balance, and he managed those few steps without trouble. More worrisome were the scratches and welts covering the girl's hands. And of course, the velvet worm that inched higher and higher up the tree.
That snapped all of Anoki's attention back to the tree, and he joined in the cheering with a slightly worried call of his own. "B-be c-c-careful!"
