Euphemia

The two males, especially the one with the bright blonde hair and flawlessly tan skin, refused to give the book to her. Lamia had said the book's name, Demonaria, but what exactly did it have in it? Euphemia would have gotten up to witness the event up close, but right now the demon had her pinned and the pain immobilized her anyway. A part of her wanted to help the innocent vampires because she believed their words are true and that the book is no longer with them or never has been in their possession. Another part of her is scared to death of Lamia, and doesn't want to fight her knowing that she will die. Being a hero wasn't an option with her minimal fighting experience so she'll accept the vampires hating her for being a coward.

She wondered how long the men would put up this ruse, if there was one, until the witch gets what she wants. From the sounds of it, Karuso, the really pale one, would bleed out if Zien didn't do something quick. Lying to Lamia wouldn't be the smartest idea but whatever they chose, she hoped that they would make it out safely.

____Lamia Tzench____
"Hell turned me down - in fear that I would kill them again."

Lamia's Lair

She gasped and rolled her eyes at the obvious lie, as if Zien's false truth was poison to her eyes and made her flinch. Though she had to admit the spectacle of seeing the elemental get all flustered and bothered was enthralling. She could have begged him to charge some more sparks or throw a rock or two if it weren't for the current situation. "But you obviously don't understand - I always get what I want, and I know you're lying!" Lamia unfurled her whip from her side, its length dangling and curling along the grass like a venomous snake, "you know I've not tested this since I put the Dagger of Power's blade at it's tip..." she teased.

Karuso however was hissing as Zien tried to carefully change his grasp, he felt the soft touch of Zien's hand on the hilt of the blade, he wanted to yell at him to remove it, but it would cause more bleeding even he knew that, but he would do anything to stop the pain. He knew what he had to do, knew what he wanted, what he thirsted for but not now - not here. The memory of Zien's boiling blood running down his mouth and into his veins was the only thing stopping him from giving up.

Zoltan watched carefully, his eyes were like daggers following every slight movement of the pendant - then his eyes narrowed on the same spot as it had the last five times. Gritting his teeth together and pulling his hands into fists caused several maps on the edges of the table to crunch and fold. "We're.... leaving" he whispered through his clenched teeth. He raised an arm and to the side opened a black portal, it tore through the reality of time and space and once alive it whispered to them, begging them to walk in. With the image of the map and the supposed location in his head he pushed away from the table with such a force that it moved across the floor a few inches. He didn't stop before the portal, he walked in immediately.

"GIVE ME THE-" Lamia couldn't finish, the sound of space and time ripping itself open interrupted her, she followed the sound and was whipping her head over her shoulder. Not far from them was a black abyss the shape of a standing oval, it swirled and whispered, a darkness reaching out to them. Lamia scowled, it was not often she didn't know what was happening and she didn't enjoy it even now. From it emerged two figures, both darkly dressed, one with tan skin the other with pale to mirror his jet black hair. He looked tired, whilst the other one looked like a mixture of satisfaction and confusion. Lamia turned to face both Zien and the newcomers, forming a triangle out of the three pairings. "Are you a rescue party?" Lamia irked, but Zoltan blinked, as if dazed, "a rescue party?" he asked, looking to Dorian, baffled. But then Dorian's pendant caught Zoltan's eye, like a sparkle in the corner of his vision as it suddenly began to raise and point directly at Lamia. He whipped his gaze at her, and there was a moment of realisation like a gun shot. "You have... the book..." he said, to which Lamia scowled again, "what- no, they have-" she was gesturing at Zien and Karuso, but the same realsation hit her too. She blinked once, her eyes turned red and her demonic vision that she used to hunt down the items began to play at her vision. Through it, all she could see was a bloody crimson glowing from the two nameless figures in black. she blinked again and completely turned away from Zien, "I'll deal with you later" was all she had to say about it. For now, her attention was turned to Zoltan. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" she cooed, her old antics of wit and charm up to scratch as ever before. Zoltan smiled, much of his better judgement was gone from countless hours frstrating himself over this damned thing, and now he could have it! But he surprised even himself, explaining "you take me for a fool if you think I'll summon it in the open". But the witch had only one answer as she looked from Zoltan to Dorian in one slow, smooth motion.

"You would be a fool not to"

Karuso could barely hear the commotion, he was trying to speak, but all he could manage was "Wh-o... wha-tskk- Z-Zien, p-ple...ease..." as he stared into his orange eyes. Karuso knew Lamia had been distracted, and truth be told - he wanted to get out of here, he wanted to survive.

And then suddenly, as if by magic, Lamia, Zoltan, Dorian and Euphemia were gone. Lamia, with her Diadem, summoned a magnitude of magic to transport the four of them with the blink of an eye to another cliff she saw far off into the horizon. Karuso and Zien's home was further than the eye could see, and the four of them were alone.

((Okay, i've split everyone up now, Zien and Karuso alone at home, us lot elsewhere, i'll quote you guys in my next post in the new area. You guys can reply to this in this thread. And you love me really Nemo :3 But one question, do you think I could break my habit of not truly killing off a character?.. but which will it be? muhahahha))

"I'm not lying" Zien snapped loudly. "If you're too stupid to know that then that's your problem; not mind!"

Course Lamia would make it his problem with the threat of being both whipped and sliced by the Dagger of Power. The whip was menacing enough without the powerful tip but with it far worse now. Zien shuddered remembering what it felt like to have claws ranking down his back; still had teh scars to prove it even. His those were removed from the dagger to hold Karu's frame closer, if Lamia followed through, Zien would use his body to make sure his vampire knight didn't get hit. The dagger in his chest would have to wait.

Zien weight for the strike anticipated the pain, but nothing came for they were interrupted by two dark strangers. "Who the hell are you two," exclaimed the elemental, but he was ignored which he wasn't bothered about and rather focused on Karu. "Come on, stay with me. This dagger isn't normal I can tell that much, but need help here...I don't know what will help or just make things worse..." But instead Karu was asking questions and he shook his head. "Later, lets worry about you first alright...tell me what I have to do to help then we're getting out of here."

Entering into a new area following behind his master, Dorian and Zoltan came upon a very interesting situation. There was a lull in the energy as both parties were surprised, however it wasn't lasting as his pendent identified the blonde woman as the barer of the other half of the book. Zoltan noted it too and Dorian mentally bleaded that his master mental stability was clear enough not to fall pray to her words and traps.

Leaning in slightly to murmur in his teacher's ear, he uttered a warning. "She oozes deceit Master Zoltan...we mustn't take her lightly."

Euphemia

The admiration Zien showed to protect his partner was impeccable. The blonde women unfurled her whip that snaked into the grass and was ready to strike by its master's command. She threatened that she always gets what she wants and that Zien's pleas mean nothing to her. He sounded genuine in not knowing the location of the book and he won't willingly sacrifice his partner to protect some ancient text, would he? She couldn't see him cradling Karuso, but their crackling voices and resistances to interrogation was more than enough. Lamia took the situation to far, and Euphemia couldn't stand her brutish nature. She wanted to speak out or even create a distraction by minimal movement, but the demon forced as much weight on her as it could. Basically crushing her small body and warping her fragile mind in the attempts to fully knock her unconscious. But even with all its effort, the girl found the strength to stand up and lean against a tree trying to comprehend what was happening through blurred vision.

Shockingly, Lamia was interrupted, even distracted by a familiar noise that cause Euphemia to remember that she had traveled using portals once before. The swirling black hole provided an entrance for two mysterious men, two men that she vaguely knew but couldn't connect their faces with a name. As her vision cleared, she examined the thin male with jet black hair and menacing golden eyes to match his slimy personality. The apprentice next to him looked relevantly similar, but he was seemed more logical and cautious. Her buried memories resurfaced and she remembered encountering them once or twice in battle. The leader and his apprentice contained unworldly powers and unleashed them as a last resort so she made a mental note to stay clear. The demon within could even these memories as well, but left them be knowing that their alliance should reside with Lamia. The cocky witch assumed that they were their to rescue the vampires, however, their motives are more selfish and devious than anything.

Zoltan whipped around and looked to Dorian's dangling pendant for guidance until he released that she possessed the other half of the book that he was also searching for. When he bought this to Lamia's attention, she was confused for a moment and accused the vampires of having the book. She soon discovered that he meant her half of Demonaria making Lamia activate on of her many powers. A crimson glow illuminated from her eyes as she scanned the two men while ignoring Zien, telling him that she will return regardless. Making somewhat of a mutual understanding, she offered to show him hers if he showed her his. The terms were classified so Euphemia had no idea what they meant, but knew deep down that it was trouble. She reached out her hand shakily trying to stop them but the demon was quick to silence her by inserting pain onto her already weakened body. Cringing and doubling over, she heard Zoltan refused and boost how he wouldn't be fooled by her tricks. Thinking he had outwitted her, she reassured him that his pride was pointless and his decision could cost him his life.

Suddenly, summoning one of her artefacts, Diadem; Lamia, the two men, and her appeared on a vacant cliff side. The change of scenery felt so familiar even though she didn't have much time to take it in. There was no tree to support her so she fell to the ground like a broken doll coping with the eminence amount of pain. Her struggling movements beckoned Lamia to save her from this hell she was enduring.
