Every Ten Minutes Finn smirked. He hadn't honestly been sure on what kind of answer he might be given considering how poorly his visitation time earlier had ended. But it seemed like Ripley was willing, if not (gasp!) hopeful, and Finn hung the clipboard back into it's position on the end of the bed before moving back around to the head, leaning down to lay a soft kiss against Ripley's lips. "Get some rest." He murmured, straightening back up. "I'll be back to check on you again, later." ------------------- Exactly ten minutes after Finn had left the first time, he came back. "Wake up."

Friendship"No." Ripley decided, only because between them there really wasn't a paradise that wasn't in the heat of the moment. "He's pledged to make my life hell until I'm better." If he wanted Chel on his side, he imagined he would have to let her in on the current going-ons as incentive. "Which is counter-productive." Because interrupting his healing process with stress and lack of sleep will only keep him here longer, he was fairly certain of that.
"I'm worried he'll take them." And hide them somewhere until he was better, leaving him with nothing to distract him from his own misery.

Every Ten MinutesThe kiss, however soft, made him feel a little better. It was contact he had been craving, and in his current state there wasn't much to give or receive. But a kiss he could manage, and he did get the chance to lift his least injured arm, curling it to brush cold fingers against the back of Finn's head.
"Alright." He breathed out lightly, a little too trusting of this sudden behaviour change...or maybe he was just too eager to go back to sleep.
He did just that and rather quickly.
++++
When he woke next, it was with a start.
He shifted, the motion drawing an uncomfortable hiss, and he looked around blearily, trying to figure out how later it was.
"What time-?"

Every Ten MinutesFinn frowned slightly, and then even though Ripley likely could barely see it, he reached into his pocket and made a show of checking his phone, before his gaze raised up to the clock on a nearby wall, and then back to his phone. "Well s**t, look at that, I'm early! So sorry to disturb you. I'll be back later." He gave the other man a half smile, something that might have even been apologetic looking except his eye remained as cold as ever. "Want another kiss before I go or are you good?"

Friendship
The rubik's cube was pocketed, as Chel had more important things to address now.
The legs of the chair touched the ground and she leaned in, face twisted something ugly. "What the hell," she asked. "I mean seriously, what the hell. You're ********' injured. There better be a reason or I'll ******** sock him."
Ripley had thus far made one mistake; Chel was not on Finn's side and she would never be.

You've Been Winchester'd
"A lion?" Ian repeated, sounding aghast at the very concept. He frowned at Ripley, absently tugging at the plastic bag as he tried to figure out what the actual heck a lion was doing attacking his friend, then realized it was something to do with the Halloween creatures, which then led to an inner monologue about how he needed to pay more attention to those damned things so that he wouldn't be caught off guard by them.
But Ripley playing along with his whole Supernatural joke made him smile, even if it was cheesy. Ian relaxed a little. "I only went for a few minutes so I could get some for Shiloh, since he had to work late," he replied, grinning. "And I may or may not have snitched some from a certain green haired friend of ours, but to be fair, he did give me permission."
Ian shifted a little in his seat, looking somewhat like a little boy. "Um," he said, "Well, there's been, uh, a few awesome things happening, but I'll tell you later," he said quickly, beaming at Ripley. "It's better to focus on you getting better, just know that I am like, totally good right now."

Every Ten MinutesRipley managed to keep the suspicion off of his expression, but then again, it was unlikely he felt it to begin with; all he could focus on was how tired he was. It was like he had been mauled by a -
Wait.
"I'm good." He decided anyway, because sleep was the most important thing he could think of -
Well, if he could think. He was back out pretty quickly.++++ Friendship"Incentive to make me stop landing myself in the infirmary." Ripley replied easily, almost distantly, as if his thoughts were elsewhere; Chel's ugly expression was lost to him, and though he had managed to turn his head to try and face her, he wasn't looking at her. His gaze was somewhere over her shoulder, pondering.
"But. I can't stay mad at him." He admitted rather airily, trying to sort through the fuzzy mess of his thoughts. "He's pretty when he doesn't speak."++++ You've Been Winchester'd"You know. Paws. Claws. King of the Jungle?" Wait...Queen, maybe? Shaheen certainly had the anatomy of a female but hey, at this point, who knew for sure. "Lion." He repeated anyway, lamely, for Ian's benefit...though probably for his own too, as he blinked a little more rapidly for a moment, and lifting his least injured hand to wipe at his eyes.
"I'm glad you're, like, totally good." Yes, he meant to mock his friend. "I was worried about you for a while." His arm dropped and his words tapered off into a heavy, tired sigh. "You're a good guy, I'm glad you didn't permanently ******** up. Like dying. Or maybe demon contracts." Because the realm of Supernatural was feeling all too real. "Tell me later, for sure." He tacked on belatedly in regards to the whole awesome news bit.
But there was still a very long pause, almost as if he were thinking about what he had said, before he added one thing:
"I think I might permanently ******** up one day."

Friendship
"Riptide are you hearin' yourself? Do they got you on meds?" Her fists clenched into balls, and she stood up, not really sure what to do with her anger. "He's abusin' you. That ain't somethin' you do to someone you care about." She was hardly one to talk, but she did know that what was happening to Ripley was making her angry. "Hurting you isn't ..." She stumbled, "It isn't- ..."
She sighed and flopped down in the chair. "I need to know what I can do." Chel always looked for instruction from others. "I want to go kick his a** right now, but I ain't gonna get involved if you don't want me to." This only made her clench her jaw. "Just ... just tell me how I can help okay? Please? I can't just sit here knowin' that he's doin' this."

Friendship"Oh, Probably." That was what made the most sense, he figured; what he didn't realize was how much of them he was on. His injuries, though extensive, didn't bother him. He simply felt numb. But he tried to follow what Chel was saying, and finding it difficult to decipher the meaning behind her words. Specifically, the whole care about part, followed by the hurting. Those confused him, and he looked it.
"What? No, he doesn't care about me." He sounded confused. He wasn't upset. Far from it, actually...he was simply stating a fact, as if Chel was trying to tell him it was sunny out, though it was actually pouring rain. "That was our deal. No feelings. Just sex." And lots of it, really.
"I'm not good with feelings. I don't think I have them." He told the ceiling, having drifted his gaze to look at it while he pondered the funny implications of what Chel had been telling him.
"He's not hurting me, either. Just being annoying." For now, anyway. The idea that it would actually cause pain was something he hadn't considered, past the whole lack of sleep is counter-productive to recovery thing. "So...normal, for him. It's okay, you don't need to do anything."
"Except - Maybe come see me tomorrow?" He suggested, finally turning his amber eyes to look at her, as she seemed pretty upset. "Or the day after, either or." He was pretty sure he'd be here for a while, anyway. "I like your company."

Friendship
Chel's jaw set. She listened to Ripley with her own increasing annoyance. She was already building up a few choice words, but Ripley seemed to have his mind set. Having sex without feelings wasn't a foreign concept to her, but Finn and Ripley weren't without feelings. Regardless of aromance, they were still friends.
"Of course I will," Chel said quickly. "I'll come whenever I'm not on duty." Duty for Chel was nearly incessant. It meant she'd have to skip a few food breaks, but for Chel that was okay.
There was a heavy silence for a moment or two before Chel filled it. "You really think you guys don't have any feelings in it?"

Friendship"Thanks." Ripley managed a smile that actually looked like he meant it, which was fairly impressive. "You're good people." He reached out, as if to pat her hand, or head, or something, but he wasn't even sure if he raised the right arm. Well, at least he tried, he supposed.
In the heavy silence, Ripley started to doze off. It didn't take long, especially with Finn keeping him up like he was, but as Chel's voice filled the void, he came back. Her question was just as heavy as the silence had been, and he took a moment to wrap his mind around it, and think about it, and all sorts of terribly exhausting amounts of thinking that he could accomplish in his current state.
"I don't dislike him." He said at length. "And I'd notice if he was gone." Who wouldn't? It was like having a baby of any animal: silence was very, very suspicious. "But nothing else. Not outside of lust and satisfaction." He managed to shake his head, slowly, before humming. "-And whatever you call 'less lonely', I guess." He was having a brain fart. Was there a word for that? Or were those the words he was looking for in the first place? He couldn't recall, but it didn't seem to be important.
"I'm not good with feelings." Ripley repeated with a small sigh, unaware that he had already said this.

Every Ten MinutesIf Finn was disappointed, it didn't show. He stayed until Ripley dozed off again, glancing up at the clock, frowning just slightly before he turned and walked away, boot heels clicking against the floor. Exactly ten minutes later, he was back again. "Wake up." He demanded. "I've got to check your blood pressure again. I think I' got a misreading earlier."

Friendship
Chel noticed his fingers weakly twitching, and reaching out to put her hand on them. When she had been in Ripley's place she didn't want anyone touching her- but if he was trying his damndest just to move some fingers she would meet him more than halfway.
"It's called friendship, dipshit," she said with a grin. "Which is why I'm upset about it." A pause. "'Cause we're friends too."
She let him rest for a little while after that. She only opened her mouth to say, "It's cool to not be good with feelings, but ... it ain't a bad thing to listen to 'em too sometimes Riptide."
Mostly because she already had two unfeeling assholes, one of which she was in love with. If she could salvage a third, she would.

silence is golden
The majority of Chance's time in the infirmary was spent with the curtains drawn around his own bed whenever Ripley had a visitor, the headphones he'd managed to get Finn to bring him stuck in his ears to respect the other man's privacy. Unlike his white haired friend, Chance did not have a steady stream of regular visitors (he didn't really mind this, however), unless you counted Finn, and since he didn't, Chance was left to occupy his own time.
So far he'd managed to draw a pretty accurate doodle of knight!Ripley battling dragon!Finn and stuck it on the other man's bedside table while the latter was sleeping. A caption of "You're Finn-ished, dragon!" was scribbled shamelessly at the bottom.

Ian stared for a long moment.
"That's horrifying," he said, hastily trying to wipe away the imagery of a giant lion attacking Deus and using them all as chew toys. His eyes moved briefly to skim over Ripley's injuries before they flicked back up to the other man's face, Ian relaxing a little.
"...thanks, man," he said, and beamed a smile down at him. "I was worried about myself for a while, but...well, I'm glad everything worked out the way they did. And seriously, thank you, Sammy," Ian added, now looking downright pleased, because Ripley was a man of few words, which meant compliments and good thoughts were extremely rare, let alone normal conversation. He'd take them where he'd got them and -
Ian blinked, settling into his chair and raising a brow, a curious and mildly concerned expression on his face as he said cautiously, "What do you mean?"
