Thuraya listed as the other one spoke she eyed the few lions that had come from Kizi. When she had joined the pride she of course had heard all about the pride next door the gypsies. She was unsure of what to make of a pride like that and certainly would never have joined it herself. But that being said now that she had met a few of the members they didn't seem so bad. She of course hadn't actually spoken to any of them yet.
"I can't say too much about being lazy, my old pride flourished beyond what anyone could have dreamed of. Perhaps we all got too cocky and thats why we were taken down." Thuraya had thought a lot about what caused their downfall but had never really figured it out, why had those lioness' hated them so.
She eyed the big beast moving in to take another bite. In truth she wasn't even hungry anymore and if she kept eating like this she was bound to make herself sick, but she was enjoying being around the others it was the first time she had felt like she was home since joining the pride.

She pointed to Clea, frowning. "Come on, now, they were nice enough to invite us to their Ball twice now! They've taken nothing from us since the cub-napping incident!" Well, maybe the odd shell they wouldn't miss, since the sea gave them many... She pushed herself up, walking over to the stone-brown and fire-haired lion that had joined them. "Brother FireDog, welcome to the bounty!"
Siobhan found a spot down the whale's body, amid the receding waves, to gnaw on the tail of the beast. As she was eating her fill, she looked to the ocean, its waters pulling further from shore. She'd seen it happen time and again, as the tide went out for the time being. Indeed, if anybody would be eating this part of the whale, now was the time. She gave a most undignified burp, smiled sheepishly at nobody in particular, and then continued to eat.
With some effort, Natsu removed the stomach from the dead whale. Dragging it across the wave-soaked sand, he found a good spot and used his claws to open it up. Bits of something soft fell out, including tentacles. He backed away, not wanting to be touched by them. "I don't want to know more about its stomach contents now..." As he walked back to the body, he marveled at how much they had already eaten of it. Parts of the skull were visible, as well as a great bulbous... He wasn't sure what it was. Given what had been in the stomach, he didn't want to know what was in THAT thing. He found a new spot, settling to eat his fill.

Pattin had heard about the whale washing up on the beach and had tried his best to hurry to the scene. But all in all the healer was more focused on gathering his herbs and helping the other mwani with new poultices and ways to tend to a wounded lion. The idea of eating the strange sea creature actually was new to him and he was curious how it would taste. Even fish were an odd appetizer that he had taken time to get used too...so how would he feel about this one?
Now that he was finally arriving the large lion noticed his mate mixing in with others, "Causing trouble love?" He teased slightly though his gaze was also fixed on those from the neighboring pride. He enjoyed the idea of alliances and knew the K'Z's to have a good heart, but sometimes they did have shifty paws. But there was plenty of whale around to share so that was fine with him.

Thuraya felt like she had a bobble head as several lions spoke to the green lioness that she had befriended during the feast. She didn't want to get into trouble with the female but she wasn't willing to walk away either. She ducked her head down and took another bite of the whale. She was truly way beyond full now it was getting absolutely silly that she was still eating but it was fun to be a part of something.
"Hello" she said with a muffled voice to the male that joined them, mouth full of the food. She took him to be the green lioness' mate.

Pattin smiled slightly at Clea. He knew her grumpy habits, but the lioness had a good heart. He was just glad he made it before the whole whale had run out. Else he would have heard it from her later...the thought just made him quietly laugh. She would have probably found a way to sneak him some all while calling him slow and lazy.
It was an interesting taste though...
After swallowing his mouthful of meat Pattin glanced up, "Hello to you as well." His gaze glimmered warmly as he reached down for more, "Enjoying the whale?"

Thuraya smiled the male that joined the crowd of lions to eat the whale to be much warmer than his female counter part. "Its different and very different from any other thing I have eaten before." she answered the male.
"Do you like it?" she asked him in return. It seemed only polite to do so. Thuraya was always polite it was the way she was raised.
She took another nibble of the whale and took a step back to admire the skeleton of the whale that was before her, she couldn't believe how much they had eaten as a group.

At her question Pattin paused before slowly nodding, "It's not bad." The lion chuckled softly, "But as you said it is different." The lion swallowed another mouthful, "I'm still getting used to the fish around here." Shark was good, but he still missed the tender meat of a gazelle...the lion sighed. Still herds would occasionally come nearby so he would get the taste of the life he once knew before the ocean.
Even with the fish he did love it here after all.
"Doesn't look like it'll be left for long though." Pattin laughed, "I never saw so many hungry lions ready to dig in like this before."

Clea frowned at Athena and rolled her eyes. To take their neighbors in after incidents like that without questioning them was just ignorant to her. If they did it once, who was to say they wouldn't do it again? Clucking her tongue she made it a point to avoid the lioness to keep tensions stable.
Turning her head back to Thuraya she found her mate as well. Curving her lip into a frown, she bumped his shoulder with her own and settled back into a rhythm of carving out fresh meat. She was burrowing through the tissue like a maggot, searching for the purest meat to eat.
"Fish is good, but I still don't think this is fish." She commented dryly. "Either way it's gettin' closer to bein' finished, so it's a good thing you got here when you did Pattin. Just means I won't have ta be feedin' yer lazy butt later." Even as she said it, though, she let out the rare smile. The small flower adorning her mane had fallen off and was now stuck in a clump of muscle.

With all the help from the lions of both prides and the other creatures, the whale was looking impressively slim. Bones made up the majority of the whale now, with meat sticking here and there, and some of the internal organs left over. Kicheko sat back, completely full, and licked her lips. That had been some good eating! Watching the others pick the bones clean, she wondered how many dens she'd be able to help fortify with these. There were certainly enough to go around...the question was, how were they going to move them? They looked heavy.
Seeing most of the whale was gone, Hiss quickly took a few more bites just to help out. The Bahari had been such good sports at the Mummers Ball, even though they were fairly unfamiliar with the Kizi way of living, that she just couldn't sit by and let good food go to waste. Plus it seemed they wanted the bones to help strengthen their dens. She didn't blame them!

Feeling the bump on his shoulder Pattin just grinned. Despite the frown he found the movement to be loving and the lion couldn't help but to smile, "If this was fish then I'm afraid of fishing now." He commented slyly, "I think this thing would have fished for us instead." Gods knew that the thing was big enough to house a den full of lions let alone be killed by one? What a task!
He chuckled at her teasing, "Maybe I should have lingered then?" Smiling lightly towards the green lioness he purred, "I like it when you feed my lazy butt, makes me feel loved." She might smack him for it but the lion was still happy with the good meal. It had been a while since he had interacted with so many healthy lions that it felt nice. Rather than seeing a broken pride or sick ones there was just a normal social gathering with good food.
Reaching out for the flower he moved it slightly hesitant about whether it could be saved or not...he would pick her a beautiful one later to replace it. For now though he would focus on what was left of the whale.

Thyura moved away from the others a little. More than full the lioness looked up at what was now just a giant skeleton. She couldn't believe the size of the bones that were before her it was absolutely amazing.
She was happy she had come out to the beach today and was able to partake in such a group activity and finally she had managed to talk to a few of the other pride members.

As the lats bits of meat that the lions could get were removed from the whale, Athena walked over to admire it. There were still bits here and there that the lions couldn't reach, for sure, but that was what the baboons were for! She grinned up at the remains, then turned to the rest of the lions gathered. "Well done, everybody! Now it's time for the baboons!"
Covering her mouth to keep from burping, Siobhan sat back, waves lapping against her tail tip. Ooooh, she was full... The tan lioness looked up the skeleton toward everybody else, before getting up and wobbling her way along it. So much meat... She felt like she'd never have to eat again! Truly, this was good pickings!
Soon joined by his mate, Natsu walked up to where the grass became more plentiful against the sand. As he flopped down under a tree, he watched Athena go in, before she walked out, joined by a troop of baboons. The bent-tailed apes had soon covered the skeletal remains of the whale, picking at any meat they could get and picking up any small bones they fancied. It was a sign of peace to the creatures, a truce if one could call it that. Any shore birds who got too close were quick to join the whale in becoming a meal, too. As the nimble-handed creatures enjoyed their free meaty treat, the brown lion soon passed out, letting out quite a snore.
OOC: And so concludes the first part of our mini-Meta! I'll round up a list here shortly and roll winners! heart And then in a day or so, we can move on to part 2 - The SKELETON!
