Rilind
Keen Blades Stats
HP || 30 (+5)(+2)(+15) = Total Hp: 52/52
Attack || 36 (+7)(+6)(+2) = (+15)
Defense || 31 (+6)(+2) = (+8 )
Magic || 7 (+0)(+0) = (+0)
Speed || 36 (+7)(+3)(+1) = (+11)

Rilind is using Full Defense this turn.
Def Modifier x 2 next round and 2 rounds of half damage.

Rilind gave a bit of a sighing sound as Yaholo slid his way in front of him, acting like some sort of brutish hero type. No matter, it made things easier for him he supposed. Not as though he was really hard up to get into a battle against the Obans when he really felt a disconnect from this battle. He supposed if they caused any harm to Yaholo then he would see about drawing his weapons and fighting against them.

For the moment though he meant only to remain on the defensive, feeling it was best that way. Not as though the other members of this rag tag army wasn't already going through the ranks of the Oban vanguard as though they were children. The real concern was instead the big beasts behind them, like nothing that Rilind had ever seen before. Those were what they really had to watch out for and he meant to be prepared for when they showed up.

Shifting himself to the side so that he could look around Yaholo, who seemed determined to be a better door then a window, he followed the movements and approach of the giant beasts. They were as terrifying as they were impressive, though he didn't say as much, instead he merely said, "Best that you keep your eyes open, Yaholo, worse things then just these soldiers are on their way."

                  Aedelric wasn't exactly sure why he was here fighting, but knew it had something to do with the fact that the captain was a little off his rocker and forced all non youngling into formation with a weapon in his hand. He had been handed a lance which was something he had never worked with before. The Vanguard was in front of him, but they weren't doing so great. He saw a beast as magnificent, well, almost as magnificent as one of their own and the one riding it was different, yet familiar at the same time. That would be his target. But, the untrained prentice got his legs tangled around his lance and ended up face planting. He was just glad the ones around him didn't start laughing or running over the top of him.

Defense || 33 (+6)(+2) = (+8 )
Magic || 21 (+4)(+0) = (+4 )
Speed || 11 (+4)(+1) = (+5)

Needs 20 to hit.
13+9 = 22 - HIT

(11+9)/2 = 10 + 3 (Downward Strike!) = 13 dmg!

Downward Strike Cooldown = 0/3 Rounds.

Shalvesta was in a battle - a battle in which her side was, inexplicably, losing. True to his word, the man who captured her released her at the edge of camp - and true to HER word, she remained behind, staring after them, livid. So when she learned they were chasing after their captured, Shalvesta didn't hesitate. She found her blade (which had been dropped by the flailing leaf earthling who took off with it, and carried it into battle.

Her rage almost helped her forget that this was a BATTLE. ... Almost.

Everywhere she turned, the vanguard was being struck down - the prentices who tried to attack the huge creature couldn't land a hit on the large beast. And even Shalvesta, with the skill she had slowly accumulated over her brief training period, had trouble with it.

But eventually, as she slashed and darted away from the swipes of the creature's tail, Shalvesta hit it - somehow, her blade sinking into the flank of the beast with as much power as she could put behind it.

And yet it still wasn't enough, was it?

Action: two half actions. Move halfway to the vanguard and power up!

BarAmal was tired and sore but there was death coming yet again and yet again he found himself hauling off to fight in it. He didn't have his mother bow but had been given a worn simple bow to use. Darting forward he moved to face the Oban forces and ready himself to attack.

Vanguard
HP || 0/150

Previous Round Damage: Takoda, Ceyede, Gaddok, 10 dmg to each.

Perhaps the vanguard had assumed the Tendaji Resistance would be distracted - or, perhaps, the small force had been an attack to buy time for the Arwa to get close unscathed. For here they came, advancing steadily, their huge tails trashing until they made it to the battle line, dangerously close as it was to the Tale camp. This time, there were two Arwa - massive and intimidating. And yet in places they swayed, as if affected by some unseen power - poison. For while in the Oban camp, one prisoner had risked capture and punishment to sneak many crafted poisons into the Arwa's food. They did not look horribly affected - but it was enough that their attacks were just that much weaker, their scales somewhat softer under the blades.

Yet they are still worthy adversaries, and not to be underestimated. ... Until, of course, one Arwa makes a wild dash forward, its tail swinging and clobbering the other Arwa, which roars in outrage and begins to charge as well. Their handler - or, rather, the assistant handler, as the previous one was now deceased, fought to control them, but they were too enraged to react skillfully.

Another link in the chain of bad luck the Obans seemed to be suffering.

Arwa 1

Defense || 22 21 (+4)(+4) = (+8 )

Defense || 15 (+2)(+3) (+5) = (+10 )
Magic ||48 (+8 )(+8 ) = (+16)
Speed ||45 (+8 )(+2) (+5)= (+15)

(16+8 ) = 25 = HIT.

(16+6)/2 = 11 dmg

Attacking Arwa 1 using ACID SPRAY.

The vanguard scattered in the wake of the approaching Arwa - that is, what was left of the vanguard, limping and retreating behind the lumbering beasts, horrified by the decimation an apparently conquered people had done on a 'highly trained' force. And some of these were prentices!!

Naria found herself beaming in pride, shouting approval to the others, then she hunkered atop her Yaotl and pat its external gills, whispering a word that only it could hear. Immediately its mouth dropped open, an a sound akin to a gurgle or a choking noise erupted from it - until suddenly what looked like a ball of bright green liquid shot from its throat, slamming into one of the Arwa, where the acid stuck and began to dissolve the thick, plated armor.

The hit, however, was still too shallow to cause any lasting damage to the armor plating - but it was still a hit on the massive beast, and Naria counted it as a victory.

On the horizon, she could not see an army - just the outline of the Oban camps far off against the twilight sky. Was the rest of the army hiding ?Or were they waiting to see the outcome of this fight, startled by how quickly their vanguard had been obliterated?

Gyuri attempts a counter against Arwa 1.

Gyuri needs an 18 to hit.

Roll to hit: 20 + 7 = 27, hits
Roll for dmg: (13 + 7 )/4 = 5 x .5 (crit) = 7.5

Gyuri went a bit wide eyed at the big beasts that were coming his way, preparing himself to dodge... when the creatures suddenly seemed to go out of control a bit. The way that they charged forward, flailing about a bit, made it a lot more difficult to read as well as get out of the way of what was coming his way. He found himself getting clipped by one of the Arwa's tails, something that sent the big man stumbling and he hit the ground with a grunt of surprise. He lay for a moment, stunned with the breath knocked out of him. It took a moment but he forced himself to sit up despite the pain he was feeling, then dragged himself to his feet.

He glanced around from side to side, wishing that he knew exactly where the rest of the troupe was at. He couldn't spot them in the chaos, something that made him more then a little worried. He would have to keep moving, do his best to battle with these creatures, at least until he could figure out where the others had gotten off to. Lunging forward toward the big beast, drawing back a fist, and slammed it into the creature's leg with as much force as he could. The things were tough though, weren't they? The moment he hit it he could feel that it was all muscle under it's thick, scaly hide. It was going to be tough to take these things out but they would need to do just that if they were going to protect the camp and all those in it.

"Please be safe, Borra." He murmured to himself, taking a couple quick steps back, lifting his fists up, and prepared himself so that he could attack again.

Jacin's HP: 64/64

Jacin is attacking the Arwa 1.

Jacin needs 18 to hit.

Jacin is using Blind Fight.

Roll to hit: 14 + 14 = 28 + 5 (from BF) = 33, hits
Roll for dmg: (17 + 14 )/2 = 15.5 + 5 (from BF) = 20.5 dmg

US CD: 2/5
BF CD: 1/5

The Vanguard went down quickly, something that Jacin wasn't too surprised about, but there was no time at all to celebrate since it was a small victory. No, they still had a lot to worry about in the form of those massive beasts that the Obans rode around on. He reached into his quiver for some arrows, taking a careful aim, before loosing them to fly forward out of his bow and into the throat of the Arwa. It did some damage though not nearly enough. This wasn't the first time that he'd fought with these things, he knew how dangerous they were, not to mention how tough. It would a good number of arrows to take the beasts out but he would be sure to do it, he would protect his family no matter what.

The problem with that of course being the fact that as the creatures came charging in that he'd lost track of his mate. Looking around from side to side he called out, "Takoda! Where are you?" He wasn't certain, he didn't see him anywhere, and he could only hope that he was alright... a shiver went through Jacin but he forced himself to focus, going for more arrows, and started forward toward the Arwa, looking for more openings. He would continue to do his best, looking to hit the creature in its soft spots, and to do all the damage possible. Now... if only he could peg the riders, they would likely go out of control without someone controlling them, right? It might even cause them to go trampling over their own people. That thought in mind Jacin set to searching those people out, hoping that he might spot them and, if he were lucky, get a shot off at them.

Chal's HP: 64/67

Chal is attacking the Arwa 1.

Chal needs 18 to hit.

Chal is using Heavy Hitter.

Roll to hit: 1 + 11 = 12, misses and hurts himself. Smooth, Chal. lol
Roll for dmg: (13 + 11 )/2 = 12/4 = 3 dmg to self

SP CD: 2/5
HH CD: 1/3

Chal looked around at the vanguard who had been wiped out fairly quickly, not exactly something worth celebrating since he really didn't want to be forced to fight and kill in such a manner. He had always seen his skills as something that he was honing to protect others but what he was doing now, it was far different. Heknew that he was protecting them in a manner of speaking, by helping to fight off the Obans, but it was still more then he'd ever wanted to do. How he looked forward to this war ending he thought to himself before he lifted his heavy shield up, turning to face the Arwa that were getting closer to where he was standing.

He lifted his shield up, preparing himself, and starting forward toward one of them... only to stumble when the the two Arwa colliding with each other seemed to shake the very ground under his feet. Chal took a couple staggering steps back, before he was able to steady himself. He gotten a bit scrapped up by his stumble but at least he hadn't gotten stomped on. Seeing that as an upside he started forward toward the Arwa once more. What were a few scratches after all when facing something the size of this monster?

He'd survived a battle against them once before and he meant to do it again if possible, he just had to pus himself was all, and hope that Aysun would be able to forgive him. He knew his son loved creatures like this but there would be no peaceful solution when it came these things or their handlers. As such he had to fight them with everything he had even though he knew killing them would upset Aysun greatly. He'd figure out a way to make it up to him later after this was all over he told himself before he prepared to charge the giant creature.

Rishi's HP: 64/64

Rishi is attacking the Arwa 1.

Rishi needs 18 to hit.

Rishi is using Aggressive Roots.

Roll to hit: 5 + 16 = 21, hits
Roll for dmg: (1 + 16 )/2 = 8 x 1.5 = 12 dmg

LS CD: 2/5
AG CD: 1/5

With the vanguard defeated that left an even more powerful and intimidating enemy left to face, that being the Arwa that the Oban army rode in on. They had been a ways off to begin with but the time that it took the group to deal with the vanguard seemed to be plenty of enough time for the massive beasts to cover the ground and closed in on them. It was a sight to behold to be certain but not one that really shocked Rishima in anyway, not when he'd seen and fought them before. His mismatched eyes flickered from side to side, getting a feel for where Jerarda and Gerraden were at before he lifted his spear up, making a prayer to Aisha before he lunged forward toward one of the massive beasts.

His spear was able to hit home, the sharp tip of it burying itself deep into the Arwa's leg. Once there he gave his weapon a twist before pulling it free and bounced back a couple steps. The creatures were large and the steps shook the very ground they stepped on, it was something that he knew was going to take all of them to be able to take the pair of monsters down. It was something that had to be done or else the Obans would continue their bloody war, threatening all in their path. He didn't want to think what might happen if they reached the Chibale Isles where Aisha resided. No, they would have to stop the threat before that happened, they couldn't let them anywhere closer to the mother tree then they already were he thought to himself as he prepared to charge the Arwa again.

Makani's HP: 44/44

Makani's Spells:

Heal: 5/5
Life: 4/5
Lightning: 5/5

Makani is going to cast Life 1 on Gyuri.

Life: Significantly heal yourself or team member.

(20 + 10)/2 = 15, Gyuri is healed to full once more.

The shaking in the ground under Makani's feet, as well as everything that was going on around him, wasn't doing the blind mage any good. If anything it seemed to be throwing off even the magical version of seeing that he made use of. Being truly blind in the middle of what had exploded into a battlefield wasn't something that he liked, not in the least. In fact he would likely retreat if he had any idea at the moment which way would be the best direction to retreat in. He'd been prepared to play the part of a priest again, he hadn't really thought about actually getting cause in battle. This wasn't where he wanted to be, not when he had a hard time differentiating between friend and foe since the energy of strangers all felt the same to him.

The energy of friends though, that was something else entirely. It was why, when he felt the energy of a someone near and dear to him, that someone being Gyuri, as it flickered that he froze in place. His sightless eyes opened wide, as though he were straining to figure out where the big guy was, reaching out for him with his magical energy, seeking him out. It was sheer luck alone, or perhaps a blessing from Bergchi, that allowed him to locate the troupe's bodyguard. Once Makani had 'tagged' him with his own energy it made it easier to keep track of him as he gathered more power into his hands, using it to cast a powerful healing spell upon the big warrior. He had to keep Gyuri safe no matter what, the troupe needed him, the troupe cared for and loved him, and Makani would use his powers to make sure that Gyuri got back to the troupe!

He could feel Gyuri's flickering energy strengthen, telling him that the healing spell took, which made him smile a little, "Good, good..." Now, to figure out what he should do next. More healing, perhaps? Or should he actually chance trying to make an attack? If nothing else at least there was no way that he could mistake one of those giant monsters for an ally, the two were just far too different for that. As such it was an option, provided that others around him didn't need healing far more then they needed Makani to try to attack the Arwa.
