Dyakida – Alkidike Artisan
Resistance, Tale Camp, Captive Tent: With Peyla and the Prisoners – any prisoner may post to her!

Most of the voices were in the healer's tent, but... Dyakida suddenly had an idea. Take me to the prisoners, Peyla. I wish to speak to them.

Triumphantly, the sprite led Dyakida to the captives tent. It wasn't hard for the sprite to find, being in the center of camp and being as guarded as it was.

Peyla jeered at the prisoners. Bad Obans, so tricky with their sparkly orange gems. Well she was onto them. They were bad. She wasn't bad – they were. HA!

”So.” Dyakida said, hovering just outside. She could feel the guards nearby, their wary movements registering as vibrations to her antennae. She wanted her staff to lean on, but it wasn't there – the Obans had taken all of her things. She hoped to get them back. ”What is it like being in a cage yourselves?”

"You are wounded though! Why would you risk crippling yourself to fight? " As she spoke, she realized the answer. The show must go on... she knew of dancers who would dance while their feet bled or actors who went out with broken bones because they had to finish the show. Guess he had more common sense than the actors and dancers....

"Oh! I'm fine! Nothing's wrong and I'm not hurt... so .. all will just.. be okay." She said with a bright smile. She was among the wounded and had barely a scratch on her; she would not complain! Even if she didn't know where her husband was, why he had left on the eve of battle to go 'help his family' and leave her at Neued, if he'd joined in this fight and was out there right now, where her family was. She hadn't seen them in the prisoner's camp and they and been on the same caravan with leaving Neued while the warriors tried to hold back the Obans... But that had been attacked and she wasn't sure her mammu Shilea or family were okay or unharmed or if they had made it someplace safe....
She shook the thoughts away. She had to stay positive!

She pulled out some bandages and a rag to clean off his scratches. "Here, let me at least clean and bind those smaller scratches you got from the escape." His chest and arms bore quite a few gashes, but since they were not life threatening the healers had moved on to other more dangerous wounds.

"To cripple myself just to fight in one battle when a day of rest and I can safely go out and fight, hopefully, is not worth the risk. While they say one fighter can make the difference... you actually need a lot of fighters and one only makes a difference if they are the first to run or the first to charge and lead the others. And I am confident we can last at least one day so I will rest as much as I dislike being idle while a battle rages. " Practicality; he'd been raised where rash actions usually meant pain or death for the Jungle was not kind to stupid rash actions.

He shifted so he was sitting up and mdd a space for her to sit on the pallet. "Thank you. I was going to clean them myself, but help is appreciated." Once she got to work he thought over her retains. She was putting on a brave face, trying to be positive. A nice attitude and one he could respect.. but it looked like her worries were getting the best of her.

"You shouldn't bottle up your worry. It'll just make it worse." He said softly. "I know you can't go out into the wild and just scream away the worry or beat up trees to vent frustrations like we could before the invasion... but at least talk about it. It'd be a sham to have you hurt yourself with worry." Hurt as he was he couldn't help the fight.. but maybe he could help another shifter who looked lost, lonely, and in need of a friend.

Lerin's brow furrowed as he watched the Ice girl depart to battle. He hadn't had an opportunity to respond, but even if he had, he found himself feeling speechless. Passionate because she was alone? How was that even possible? From his own experiences, he'd only ever been passionate about something he truly loved. And as much as he liked his home and the people in it, it just didn't seem so great a casualty to lose it. At least not one worth this much trouble over.

His gaze flickered to the edge of camp. Sounds of the skirmish reached him, and all he could do was fret over what the Ice girl had said and how it correlated to anything relevant and- His eyebrows pinched together and his cheeks warmed and suddenly his fingers were darting up to rub at teh edges of his flower. Doori must've sensed his newfound distress, because the bird cooed softly in his ear and nudged his cheek affectionately.

Not that it solved any of Lerin's concerns.

She could fight because of her passion, apparently, but he... He should probably just leave, since it was up to his own discretion now. But as he turned to depart, a familiar woman breezed by him. For a moment, he was actually moderately offended that she hadn't stop to say 'hello' or something of the like, but then... Dyakida was blind, and she probably hadn't even noticed him.

The guards allowed her into closer proximity to the tent with much less trouble than he'd given the Ice girl earlier, and Lerin reasoned that it was because the Alkidike woman had more training to her name and could probably handle one or two rowdy prisoners, unlike a couple of untried Prentices. But... as long as he was here, and she was here, perhaps he'd also be allowed to get a touch closer... With a 'shushing' pat to Doori's head, he slipped up behind her, giving Peyla a tiny nudge with his finger to draw her attention.

He'd been under the impression that, as prisoners, they'd be left alone, at least until the battle saw its conclusion. Surely everyone in camp had better things to do than taunt a few captured Obans. It was only reasonable- logical, that they'd spend their time preparing or actually defending the camp. Needless to say, when guards actually remained stationed outside the tent and the voice of some unknown native drifted to his ears, Xilarn only felt annoyance.

Probably female, by the sound of it, and Xil's first impulse was to snap at her. "If you have the audacity to waste your time with idle banter, you should consider making yourself more useful to your people," he bit out with no small degree of malice.

In hindsight, he couldn't blame her for being upset at Oba and its people. Gods knew he wasn't particularly a fan himself. But she was also one of the few standing between him and the only reason he was here to begin with. If anything happened to the person he lov-

The word couldn't even cross his mind before Xil stiffened in startled confusion, his brows furrowing and his lips pursing together to create a thin pale line. The person he- what? He didn't know. Did it matter? No. The actual point was that he was stuck here being useless while his... friend... was fighting for his home and his life and it wasn't fair that Xil couldn't even tell what was happening. With a muted grumble, he hunched down and glowered at the ground.

Dyakida – Alkidike Artisan
Resistance, Tale Camp, at Captured Tents: With Peyla, Lerin, Prisoners

Dyakida rarely felt strong emotions, and rarer still showed them when she did. So the surge of disgust and loathing that surged through her at Xilarn's words was not something she was accustomed to feeling.

”You...” she growled, feeling her face grow warm with fury. Yes, why aren't I? she thought, hating herself with equal fervor.

No. she thought, struggling to return to her usual calm, He is manipulative slime, trying to push you into doing something stupid. her mouth twitched in a wry smile, And, very clearly, he knew just what to say.

Dyakida wondered if he could see her. She wondered if he knew. She hated him – whoever and whatever the Oban was – all the same.

”Ah yes.” she said, her voice clipped, ”The voice of a yapping beast. It wasn't long ago that we were behind fences and guards. We barked too... quietly. But you don't have the guts to do what we did, do you Oban?” she taunted, ”You're stuck in this cage, Oban. Are you useful to your people here?”

Initially, Peyla was startled and frightened by the poking, letting out a cacophany of shrieking chimes. She turned in the air, scolding and angry, but soon calmed when she recognized who it was.

Her little voice rang with delight. It was black-hair orange-flower boy! She chimed happily in greeting and proceeded to play with his hair.

Dyakida turned around in what she hoped was a dramatic manner – she didn't want to give the Oban in the tent another opportunity to strike home with another comment – and her ears were suddenly assaulted by screeches and shrieks.

“Peyla?” she called out, concerned, reaching for the dagger that was not at its usual sheathe at her leg. She briefly panicked, before remembering that there were guards, and if there was an issue, they could handle it. ”Peyla, what is it?” she asked, gentler.

The battle waged on, both sides wearing themselves down. The Oban forces were dwindling, but the general and her men pressed on; to the death was all she could think about, and her men had her back.

Naria circled around the resistance forces encouraging their efforts to drive out the opposing earthlings, but something had caught her eye. Was it more reinforcements she saw advancing from behind the enemy lines? No… It was a band of men, royals, towing the royal seal and a flag of white.

“General Talia, call off your men. Retreat back to the camp and wait for my command.” called one of the men adorned with a great many metals; suited in fine battle garb and armed with an ornate weapon; both functional and fashionable.

Much to her displeasure the general called for her troops to fall back, as the royals advanced forward undoubtedly announcing their surrender.

Naria couldn’t help but feel the savagery still brewing inside of her; all the years of enslavement these people had caused her own to suffer… It didn’t seem fair that they could just fall back and let diplomacy run its course. Raising her spear she called out, “We should not let these monsters get away with what suffering they’ve caused us; caused us all!” She pointed her spear forward, “Chase them down and let us never have to live in fear of the Obans causing another uprising!”

There was a bit of hesitation as the resistance soldiers continued their advance, but the royals parted to reveal two familiar figures; Besian and Freya.

“Tendaji, I implore you; please stop this. We have made our point… And we believe it was well received.” Freya spoke loud and firm to the soldiers, while turning a glance to her husband.

“Now is the time for diplomacy. Let us show the enemy that we are strong yet compassionate. The Oban’s will be held responsible for the grievances they have caused, but we are making no advances by furthering this blood shed… We can end this, but not by the tip of our swords or the blunt of our hilts; we will end this with quill and ink. We will make this right for all and restore tendaji to the peaceful lands we have come to know as home.”

There was a still across the resistance lines. Freya and Bestian held the eyes of Naria, could see her pain, and finally she relented. Lowering her spear she pulled back on her Yaotl’s reins, “Tendaji… Fall back to camp… We shall hear out what these men have to say.”

The battle has ended, and the warriors are returning from the battlefround triumphant - accompanied with a small band of royal Obans, as well as the returning Freya and Besian.

Loyalists may choose to accompany these Obans into the Tale camp, or return to the Oban Camp (still roleplayed here). This is your last opportunity to earn VP points!

Rilind Knight

Location: Outskirts of the Tale Camp, snoozing in the shade

Post: N/A, he doesn't have enough for VP

The battle couldn't have ended sooner for Rilind as his old wounds were starting to act up, the one in his shoulder especially. He flicked his blades off of the blood that clung to them, sheathed them, and started to walk back toward the Tale Camp with the others. What happend from here, honestly he didn't care. So long as Yaholo was happy with the results then Rilind would be happy, that was really all that mattered to him. Upon reaching the camp he gave Yaholo a glance, then started away from him, leaving him to deal with his family on his own. He had sons that had been fighting after all, not to mention various other family members, quite a few of them, that he'd probably want to check on them. Rilind would leave him to the task.

The red head found himself a nice, shady spot a little ways away from the others, lowering himself down to the ground, and gave a hissing sound as he did so. Lifting a hand he rubbed the heel of his hand against his shoulder, feeling the ache there in. He was going to have to see about checking in a healer... later though, no reason to bother them now. They were sure to be up to their necks in real patients with real wounds, Rilind would get aid for his wounds later. For now... he was just happy to get a chance to rest. It really had felt like forever since he'd last fought and for once it wasn't something that he'd wanted to be a part of.

Now that it appeared thtat the war was over he'd rather like a break from battling if it was at all possible. He might spend time with Yaholo if the other guy was alright with that he thought to himself before allowing himself to slump back onto the ground, all but disappearing into the tall grass. He'd rest up here for a while, then, when he was feeling better and more alert, he'd go and see what Yaholo was up to. It was the last thought that went through his mind before he was snoozing in the shade.

Jacinthus Ranger

Location: Tale Camp, looking for his family

Jacinthus didn't much care for how things had turned out, with the missing elders reappearing and calling for the end of the fight. As though putting a quill to a piece of paper would so easily fix what the Obans had broken. There was no such magic in the world that could fix what they had done, nor was their such a powerful magic that would cause him to see them as anything but war mongers who weren't to be trusted. He'd never turn his back to one of them, that much was for damn sure... but it wasn't really his place to decide, was it? He might be of high rank among his tribe but he wasn't an elder. Probably for the best, given his opinion of them being so dismall he wasn't really the right man for the task at hand as it stood. If they wanted to try for peace, so be it, but Jacin just wanted to gather his family and go home. He was sick of war, sick of the Obans, and he was just tired.

Stalking forward he didn't say anything to anyone, barely even looked at them. All that mattered to him at the moment was figuring out where Takoda, Keilana, the twins, and Korra were at. Once he'd gathered them up he'd get them heading toward Yera, wanting to put everything else behind them. This wasn't where he wanted to be anymore now that things were 'over' because there was the chance that he'd come across more Oban. Truth be told at the moment he didn't trust himself to be around them, he might very well find himself tempted to punch one of them in the face which might cause an incident. He had to think about things from a less biased stand point, as well as think of his rank. He couldn't act like a little prentice anymore, not at his age, so it was best that he left sooner then later.

Once he found his family he'd put distance between himself and this place he said over and over, doing his best to keep himself calm. While calm was far from what he was feeling it was what he had to act like, peace was the best thing that they could ask for, even if it meant possibly having to play nice with the Obans in the future.

Chalcedony Fortress

Location: Tale Camp, looking for his sons

The battle was over it would seem, something that Chal found himself a bit torn by. There were those that seemed to think that now as the time for peace but he couldn't help but to wonder if there would really be a chance for such a thing. It had been a long, hard battle, there had been a lot of people that were taken captive by the Obans, how could there really be peace? If such a thing was to come into being he was certain that it was going to take a lot of hard work, something that he was going to leave to those in charge. He'd gone to the Oban camp, let himself get caught, and helped in aiding others to escape, and then fought in the battle that had promptly followed. At this point Chalcedony was exhausted and felt that there was nothing that he wanted more then to get a nap.

Not until his found his sons and checked up on them though would he allow himself the rest that he needed. He'd seen Aysun during the battle, knew that he'd been fighting but Chandra he was uncertain of. Had his older son been fighting as well? Had he been able to avoid the fight? Was his injured? Was he alright? He wasn't certain but it was something that he meant to find out. His sons were what was most important to him and as such they were the ones he had to find first, after that he would seek out their mother, make sure that he was alright, and then he meant to retire back home to Jauhar for a spell. He didn't know about everything else but after fighting for so long he was tired both physically and mentally, knowing that the Obans had been dealt with would help him to finally get some real rest instead of having to keep one eye open at all times.

Spotting the first of his sons, Aysun, who was still clinging to the spear that he'd been given by the quarter master Chalcedony hurried over to him, dropping his shield so that he could wrap his arm around him, dragging him close, "Aysun, are you alright? Are you injured anywhere?" He asked, instantly looking his boy over to make sure that he wasn't wounded or in need of a healer's attention.

Aysun prentice

Location: Tale Camp, with his father

Aysun looked a little startled when he found himself dragged into his father's arms and he gave a bit of a sigh, happily letting go of the weapon as he was. The spear hit the ground and was completely forgotten as he leaned his head against his father's chest, "I... huh? Oh, no... I'm alright." He said, watching as his father looked him over for wounds. There had been some close calls but he had, surprisingly enough, come out of the whole thing unscathed. He just hoped that the same could be said for the rest of the family, "What about you? Are you alright? Have you seen Chandra? What about mom?"

He hadn't seen them during the battle, everything had happened so fast and then everyone was dragged into fighting against the Obans, he wasn't sure what had happened or where everyone was at this point. All that he knew for certain was that their side had come out on top, winning this most crucial battle somehow. It was a relief but he really didn't think that he'd be able to relax until he figured out where his twin and his mother were, he wanted... no, needed them. He had to find them!

Turning his attention to looking around he said, "We need to figure out where they went... not to mention Uncle Jacin, Uncle Takoda, and Korra... I was supposed to watch her but I lost track of her when the fighting started." He hoped that she was alright, that she found a good hiding spot, that she hadn't gotten lost during the fray. So long as she was alright that was all that mattered he thought to himself, unable to help but to fret until his father hugged him again, helping to calm him. He needed to be calm, if he let his imagination get the best of him then he would only have a panic attack. If he was going to find the others he needed a clear head, something that the hug was helping him to achieve, "Ahhh... sorry, thank you." He murmured, clinging to his father for a moment before stepping back, ready to accompany him on the search for the others.

Rishima Amazon

Location: Tale Camp, looking for Gerraden and Jerarda

So it was finally over Rishima found himself thinking, leaning against his spear as he looked over the camp first and then turned to look toward where they had been fighting until not all that long ago. The battle was finally over, with their side coming out on top. It was more then he could ask for at this point, knowing that peace was finally going to be restored. He had been wanting for this since the Obans had first appeared, wanted to know that they were going to finally be safe. It meant that he would be able to take breaks from his patrols as well, not to mention he would be able to sleep at night again. How long had it been since he'd actually slept for an entire night?

Giving a bit of a sigh he lifted a hand, rubbing it against his face, his antennae giving a twitch. Rest would be nice he thought to himself, wanting nothing more then to lay down for a nice, long nap, possibly while using Gerraden for a pillow again. Before he'd be able to do that though he would need to find Gerraden, not to mention Jerarda, and the rest of his sisters who had been fighting alongside the rest of the members of the allied army. So many people, so many tribes, all united to fight against the threat. Now that it was over he wondered for a moment what might happened, but decided that was a worry for another day.

For now he just wanted to sleep, before he could sleep he needed Gerraden and Jerarda, rather liking the idea of napping in the sun with both of them. A day or two of sleep alongside them might be enough to actually allow Rishima to feel truly rested. So long as they were both feeling up for it of course. During the battle, when everything had gotten messy and so much dust had been kicked up, he'd lost track of the two of them. He could only offer up a prayer to Aisha at the moment, hoping against hope that they were alright, before he set to searching for the two of people who meant the most to him.

Gyuri Guard

Location: Tale Camp, being healed by Makani

Gyuri wasn't really the sort to complain, not out loud at least, tending to instead complain in his head. Speaking up, making things known, it just wasn't his style unless it was something that important... which a few bumps and bruises just weren't in his opinion. He had been injured while fighting but he couldn't really complain, not when he thought about what he was fighting. The fact that he had just been scraped up a bit was a miracle, a blessing upon him him by Bergchi. He saw no reason to complain when others were likely injured worse then he was. No, all he wanted now was to herd the troupe back together, make sure that they were alright! That was his job, something that he'd been unable to do because the Obans had attacked so suddenly. They had messed up his job, dragged him away from it, and he could only hope that Eira didn't mean to fire him he thought to himself.

He was just starting forward when suddenly someone was grabbing hold of one of his arms. Turning he found himself starring down at Makani who was looking none the worse for wear at the moment, just a bit dirty, with his hair askew. Good, so he'd found at least one of them, something that caused him to smile before he lifted a hand to pat Makani on the head... something that got the little blond complaining at him. Even so he couldn't be anything but happy to see him. Here was to hoping that the others were as easy to find he thought to himself.

Gyuri was only able to take a half step forward before Makani pulled on his arm, a weak sort of pull given their size difference, but he relented never the less, turning back to the blond and asked, "You alright?" Maybe he was injured but Gyuri just hadn't seen it? Something that had him giving the blond a once over, just to make sure.

Makani Mage

Location: Tale Camp, healing Gyuri

Makani sighed a little after finding Gyuri, able to tell even without being able to see that the man had gotten injured again during the battle. Here he'd hoped that he would only have to heal the man once but it would appear as though he wasn't as lucky as all of that, was he? No, somehow Gyuri had gotten hurt a second time and yet despite knowing that Makani was cabable of using magic the man wasn't even asking to be healed. No, instead he'd given Makani a pat on the head, seemingly happy to have found him, before he just turned to try to walk along on his merry way!

It took everything that Makani had to hold him back, though even then he had gotten dragged forward a couple steps before the giant Mammu of a man realized that Makani had dug his heels in. Then, to his growing irritation Gyuri seemed to think that something was wrong with Makani himself! He even asked him if he was alright! Giving a sigh Makani lifted a hand up, rubbing it against his face, before pointing at Gyuri, "You! You are the injured one. So sit still and let me help or else!" He left the threat as one of those open ended sorts before he set to work gathering up magical energy to his hands. Once he'd gathered enough of it he set to work tending to Gyuri. The giant of a man likely planned on tromping all over the camp, gathering up everyone in the troupe one by one, and Makani meant to get him healed up before he did that.

"Just stay still, I will heal your wounds for you. After that we will see about finding the others but not until I am done with you, got it?" He said, giving Gyuri the best disapproving look he could muster before he continued with his work, hoping that the man would stand still and behave himself for the duration of the healing.

Eira Dancer

Location: Tale Camp, looking for her troupe

Eira was glad to see that the soldiers were starting to arrive once more, a lot of them seeming to be arriving under their own power. Not to mention that they actually seemed to be rather... pleased with themselves. It took but a moment of her chatting with one handsome fellow to learn why, it would appear as though the war was over. There was no better news that Eira could have heard and as such she'd rewarded the soldier with a kiss on the cheek before she'd headed on her way. If the war was over that meant that her troupe was finally free to do, well, whatever they wanted! They could travel safely again, perhaps find a nice spot to set up the inn she'd been dreaming of, they could settle down, enjoy themselves, it would be grand!

The tough part being that she would have to find them all. Her brother, Gyuri, Borra, Sinny, Vive, and Natsu! They were all around, somewhere, and she meant to gather them up so that they could decide upon what their next move was. Eira wanted to be anywhere but Tale at the moment. Nothing against the place, it was nice enough, but the weather wasn't exactly the most ideal. She knew for certain Tale wasn't where she'd be setting up shop, neither was Jauhar, it was too hot and sweaty there. Now Sauti, that was a place she could get behind, nice weather, lovely people, close to home, and toward the middle of everything. She'd have to talk it over with the others though. After asking for help and direction from some other soldiers, giving them her best smile, she was pointed in the direction of at least two members of her troupe.

Starting in that direction she spotted Makani working on healing Gyuri, something that made her smile, before she set to looking around. She knew where they were, knew that they were safe, now where was everyone else?

Zahra Youngling

Location: Tale Camp, up a tree

Post: N/A, she doesn't have enough for VP

Zahra was sitting amongst the branches of one of the trees that was nestled within the Tale Camp, watching as people started to file in from the battlefield. From her perch she'd been able to see some of what had been going on out there, had seen the giant monsters that the soldiers were fighting off. It was all quite interesting if you asked her, quite the spectacle to behold. Now that it was over though she wanted nothing more then to go with her twin to find everyone. Were her cousins alright? Had Uncle Yaholo used his giant hammer to knock one of the giant monsters in half? How many Obans had they each taken down? Inquiring minds wanted to know!

Falling backwards, so that she was hanging upside down from her perch she squinted her dark eyes, seeking out anyone familiar, "Hmm... let's see now! Where is everyone?" She mused to herself, her mismatched antennae twitching slightly out of sync from each other as she sought out familiar faces in the crowd.

Nuawahn – Wind Healer (Conscript)
Loyalist, Oban Camp: Confused and frightened

As the retreat was sounded, Nuawahn's supervisor cracked his whip again, enraged. “You...” he growled, but he could find no reason to do anything more than glower and threaten the boy. “Get.” he said, shoving the wind healer back towards the camp, “To the camp with you, to tend the wounded.” another shove, “Get!”

Nuwahn got the picture. Everything was confused and scattered, and he just wanted it all to be over.

He just wanted it all to be over...
