___Slither stood silently by as the girl woke up once more, refusing to move for fear of startling her should she be conscious enough to notice her surroundings. She noticed the woman was repeating the same word, and seemed to be consoled by the change in her environment. Was this house what the warrior was looking for all along? Or was Slither just reading into things too deeply? Sighing, she shifted in place and watched patiently as the healer summoned a table from some strange markings on the wall and set the stray warrior down on it. 'What a mess. Slither thought to herself as she chewed softly on her lower lip, pressing it gently between her teeth and nibbling oh so softly in nervous discomfort. She knew what she'd do for the woman were she alone, but the healer seemed to have everything under control and his magic was likely healthier for her, being built for handling creatures of the warrior's breed. At least, so Slither assumed. The warrior's wounds were still sealing shut and soaking up the spilt blood around them from Slither's earlier spells, and she was already looking considerably better off.

___Slither noticed the toothless old man smiling at her from the chair in which he sat, though he didn't seem to stir to help the girl they'd found. Slither smiled back at him and curtsied, lifting her skirt up and bowing gently, "Hello, stranger." She cooed softly before the healer told her to set his bag down on a table next to a bunch of medical supplies. Slither moved over to the table and set the bag down on an open space near the edge. "She's a strong one, this warrior." Slither purred, her silky voice ringing like chapel bells as she spoke, "I'm sure she'll make it through this, especially with the enchantments we've already lain upon her." Slither was trying to console the strange healer, who seemed disheveled and discomforted over the wounded warrior. He looked tense, and it made Slither nervous. Should she have just healed the Warrior out in the street and not relied on him? Could he handle an operation of this magnitude? "If you look closely, healer, you'll notice her wounds are already sealing."

Ethan blinked a few times, not really knowing what to say to that. She did answer his question at least, but from what he could tell him being part human was a issue with her. So he doubted she would accept his help willingly. He pushed himself up,now standing up again and he reached into his pockets saying slowly," I can give you some gold, and before you ask I dont want anything in return. "He took off his winter cold and sat it down. Before putting his gold on top of it. Not too much, just enough for food and a room. He calmly said," I should go and get some food now... My stomach will try and eat my insides if I dont." His bandaged arms were revealed along with the gauntlets he was wearing now. He was glad the girl had turned away from him now. But then again, with the way she was talking she probably wouldn't notice/care. He headed to the door, ready to get some grub.

Sadistic Fairytale

In the light of the house more of Lyre's strange appearance was visible. Her hair looked even whiter and her skin deathly pale. Her slightly revealing, tightly fitting clothes were tattered beyond repair, exposing much of her smooth pale skin. Every inch of her looked frail and she was so thin her ribs showed. She hadn't eaten in some time really and it seemed her body had been feeding off her muscles already. If she hadn't collapsed from her wounds and the cold she would have certainly collapsed at a later time from starvation. On her hip hung an empty sheathe, the sword lost somewhere in the snow. It was a plain thing with writing in her language scrawled on it. The letters were faded away except for the ones that spelled out her name and the name of the sword she'd once carried. One thing stood out above all, however. Under the tattered glove that covered her right hand and arm strange markings were visible, black against her white skin. Swirls and lines that seemed to be glowing with a very faint light. It was the Mark that had driven her onward, that had pulled her towards this place. A thing of legends, of fairy tales and lost history that was impossible there on her arm. Of course the same thing could have been said of Lyre herself.

Slowly Lethe turned to look. "You...you're like me aren't you," she called after him. "Most Humans...point out I am one too. They wouldn't do this. Come back and...get your stuff." The wolf dog snorted, telling her she shouldn't trust him but she silenced him with a look. It wasn't up to the wolf if she did or didn't. Truth was Lethe had never met anyone that was half anything like she was, like she even really knew what her other half was. A spark of hope glinted in her eyes. Maybe, just maybe for once she could talk to someone other than her animals. For the first time maybe she could have a real friend instead of just animals.

Maximus

Nodding slowly, Maximus did note the improvements. Speaking softly the spell magic flowed from his hand to her. Holding it directly over the wound the speed jumped up quickly. With closed eyes he focused on the flow and energy of the magic. To skilled eyes thin wispy lines of light magic could be seen, others would see nothing. Smiling more the old man spoke out a twisted and harsh language that couldn't be understood. Obvious to this fact, the old man continued on with his words.

For those that knew, he was a local man that milled about and begged for both money and food. The old man lost his tongue a long time ago and can barely do much of anything. His age and tiredness was etched into his face with the wrinkles, but his eyes still had a vivid spark to them. A mess of hair grew from his head that was gray and brushed sloppily. Maximus sighed softly and release the spell and the magic after only a few long moments. Weariness crept into him as he looked at the results and nodded slowly to himself. Looking over her clothes he shook his head slowly and walked to a set of double doors. Pulling them open revealed a large closet that was stacked full of various types of cloth and basic clothes for all. He grabbed a blanket that would keep her warm and cover her up better.

___Slither stared curiously at the pale warrior as she sat on the table the healer had lain out for her, her skin was soft and white, and looked appealing in the light of the room. There were strange markings all over her sheath and along her right hand/arm which sparked Slither's curiosity, she wished silently that she'd known the language they were in, but alas, it was unfamiliar to her even with her thorough education. Still, the mark looked familiar for some reason, its swirls and curves enticed the succubus' attention and she leaned forward at the hips to stare more closely at them. Was it a map? A blessing? It seemed to be the mark of a gift or enchantment upon the woman, but everything about it was mystery enough that Slither drew no conclusions.

___Then the old man began to speak. It sounded like gibberish, Slither looked over to him and noticed his tongue was missing, but wasn't sure whether she should chalk his nonsensical ramblings up to that or to being a foreign language. Slither politely nodded with a smile at the old man, before softly saying, "I don't know what you're saying, but it sounds nice." She then turned her head back to the healer to find he'd stopped his work, and the aura of light that had been coming out of his hands was gone. He seemed exhausted, Slither felt a touch of concern. "Excuse me," Slither began, raising one hand in the air as though waiting to be called on, "Do you need help with anything, healer?"

Ethan turned for a minute, not expecting that. To be honest he was used to being ignored and overlooked. He walked back and crouched again. Saying," Point out what? And I dont wanna take my stuff back. You need to get warm and have somewhere to stay after all. And I don't get cold that easily so I dont really need my coat. You do more than anything. "He gave her a kind smile, before looking up at the sky. His pointy ears were now revealed and were twitching at tiny noises.

Lyre suddenly came to life, coughing and sitting up. The mark on her arm was glowing brighter now. "Gods that burns," she muttered, rubbing at it. She wasn't exactly aware she should still be hurt or even unconscious, her wounds were almost healed after all. After cursing about her mark for a bit she slowly looked around, uncertain of where she was. "Okay where am I," she asked aloud. Sadly she was unaware that no one could understand what she said at all.

"You are half," Lethe said slowly. "I...I'm like you but I'm not half elf. I don't know what I am." She pulled her worn jacket tighter around herself against the bitter cold. By then she was honestly shivering from it. The wolf dog kept close to her side, doing his best to share his warmth with his freezing master.

Maximus

"I'm just tired. Half the town is sick and they all ask me to heal them." Maximus explained slowly to her as he looked at her curiously. Her concern seemed real enough but he'd seen similar acts before that were just acts. Still regarding her he opened his mouth to say something else but was cut off sharply by the old man that jumped up and shouting out, "Shiny! Shiny!" It was rough and high pitched but it was enticement and the only word that could be picked out of his brief sentence.

Glancing back at the old man then the glow came from the warrior which was where the old man was pointing. Maximus turned his head back to the warrior and stared at her as she sat up speaking her strange language again looking around.
'She should still be out cold. Another day or so and then she would've woken...Not this soon. Not like this. Must...be that glow.' His mind worked quickly to try and pin down the language and who in oblivion she was.

___"Just tired, huh?" Slither said, sweeping her foot along the floor daintily in a sort of nervous tick. She wasn't used to being around people; most of her encounters with others had required her stemming tides of violent ambition and guiding wayward warriors along dangerous quests, or the occasions in which she provided guidance and counseling to seekers and acolytes worried about future tides. She didn't pay much attention to the future, yet. "Well if you want me to cover anything, I can mend wounds and expel sicknesses rather well. I wouldn't mind helping you." Slither's voice was sweet and sympathetic, and carried tones of sincerity in wanting to be of friendly service; and not wrongly so. She wanted to help this healer for reasons she hadn't yet fully deciphered. He seemed like the decent sort, a good man in a rough world; and she wanted to know she'd paid him back for helping the warrior, whom she'd assumed as her responsibility in a modest sort of way. The old man leapt and screamed something, then, the warrior woke.

___Slither waved at the old man in a gesture of sign language saying to calm down. She didn't know if he understood sign language, but she had a feeling he was keen enough to get the gesture. The warrior's marking seemed to be glowing, and after a fit of what seemed to be swearing she seemed to ask a question. Slither had no clue as to what she said, so she couldn't answer. "Excuse me, do you speak the common tongue?" Slither asked slowly of the Warrior, then added as a side comment to the healer, "Why do you think her emblem is glowing like that? Most sigils I know of only glow when they're fully charged, perhaps it's a sign of her good health? I mean..." She paused and shifted herself, jutting her hip out to the side and resting her hand on her waist, "Hold on." She switched languages to Yorgish, the languages of wolves and of wolfbeasts in the empire of Lunaris, "Do you speak Yorgish?"

The brown haired male blinked a few times before saying with a calm look," You are? And you should really go inside. Or at least put on the coat I sat down. It could help keep all of you warm if you let it."He looked to the wolf and the eagle in the sky before lowering his head back down and saying," Halflings..Are always looked down upon I know.. Or worse."he rubbed his left arm with a frown on his face, before saying," You dont know?"

None of what the demon said made sense to Lyre. "What's going on here," she whispered. "Where's Soren? Kira? Saria? Where is everyone? Where am I?" Nothing made sense to her, especially the absence of her friends and fellow Mark bearers. This wasn't the world she knew, this snowy cold place. "Where are the deserts? The rolling dunes? Where is home? Why am I in this cold place? Soren? Soren where are you! Come explain what's going on! Please!" Fear filled her voice now, fear of the unknown. She scrambled off the table onto shaking legs. Her glances around the room became more desperate. "Come on this isn't funny!"

"Lethe and no I don't," Lethe said slowly. "I won't take your jacket. What if you need it? I don't take from those that can't replace it."No matter how he insisted she'd continue to refuse so it was pointless. As she spoke, her stomach growled, making her other need known. She hadn't eaten in a few days but she could manage a few more, she always could.

Maximus

Maximus watched the warrior talking in her strange language and it looked like she was about to fall. Holding his hands out like he would to calm an animal as he slowly said, "You should rest more." He knew that she'd probably wouldn't understand him, but Slither didn't seem to be having much luck talking to her either. 'If I can find the language and the spell, then she'd be able to understand us. After we get her to calm down.' Racing through his thoughts he again tried to place the language. It sounded very familiar.

The old man quieted tho he was staring at the warrior. His lips in a semi smile as he watched the two women. However his eyes danced over the damaged clothes of the warrior more than Slither. A soft light glowed in his eyes as his mind raced along dirty trails and paths. Twisting what he saw into what he wanted to see.

___Slither watched with curiosity as the warrior started whispering, then snapped her fingers, 'A listener's charm! That's what I need!' She snapped her fingers twice again, and a light coiled loosely around her neck, starting at the nape and snaking around to the top of her sternum before decreasing in intensity down to a faint glow. It was in the shape of an amulet. Then Slither heard it, language ignored as a barrier and meaning extracted out of all spoken words. She could understand what the warrior was saying. It was mostly jumbled nonsense, panic, if you will. Slither decided to clue the healer in to what was going on. "She seems to be worried about being separated from her friends, and she came here from a desert. The cold is strange and foreign to her, and-" Slither was cut short as she felt a sudden pulse of lust from the old man in his chair.

___Being a succubus left one with an innate draw into being able to perceive the desires of others, oftentimes whether or not one wanted to. She could feel the old man's imagination curling around the tattered clothes of the warrior and shaping images of her nude in his mind, begging for him and pleading in lust. It was a bit of a distance from the healer's sincerely good intentions. Slither burst out laughing, then turned to the old man. "You better cut that out right now, old man. That is completely crude and inappropriate." She said, shaking a finger at him as though she were his mother, which she was more than old enough for. Slither sighed and turned back to face the healer. She held out her hands and wiggled her fingers. "If you let me, I can place a charm around your neck that will let you understand her, and if she lets me get close enough, I can do the same for the warrior by letting her understand our language; but you have to be within arm's reach of me. Are you ready for that?"

The brown haired male just shook his head saying,"the only thing I need it for is the pocket room. And..."He blinked a few times when he heard her stomach growl. And then smiled kindly,"I take it Im not the only one hungry. I can get you all some food too. But please, put on the coat. I dont really get cold unless I get wet. And snow doesnt really make it that way. " He scratched the back of his head before saying," That and I can always make another one. Its not like its that hard.."

The second Lyre saw the healer she threw herself into his arm. "Soren oh Soren," she sobbed. "What's going on? Where am I?" She clung to him, trembling. Where the mark touched him it glowed brighter. "Where's home? Where are we? Why is the war still going on?" She turned her face up to him, waiting for answers and still not seeing the truth. The man before her looked just like her closest friend. "I...guess it all doesn't matter though since...I've finally found you," she whispered before kissing him, right on the lips. Not once had she even given him or anyone else a chance to explain.

Slowly Lethe nodded and pulled on the coat. "Thank you," she said quietly. "People aren't...normally nice to me at all." She didn't look at him as she spoke. It was because of her past that she'd rather forget completely. It always seemed to follow her however.
