Heidi watched him, and even though he finally gave her that dimply smile she loved and kissed her forehead she was still worried. He said he was trying but..she never saw any progress.

She squeezed his hand. "I know," she said with a nod. Heidi stepped closer, guiding his hand to put it around her shoulders so she could slip her arms around him and nuzzle her face against his chest. "I know you are."

He leaned down just enough to press a kiss against the top of her head before pulling away from Heidi.

"Next shift should be here soon. You want me to walk back with you to the dorms?"

He pulled away from her and Heidi frowned, reaching out to try and stay close to him. No, stop running away from me.

After a moment's consideration she nodded her head. Of course she wanted him to walk her back. Perhaps she could even get him to stay awhile. Heidi missed spending time with him.
