July 12th, 2017: Lanzer Star x Apple~ FeaturesGuilds. What can we expect to see with the upcoming guild update? So far I have heard that guilds are a top priority which makes me so happy as a guild leader but I don't have any idea what kinds of things are being implemented aside from likely updating the guild forums to the public forum format with tipping etc. We're sinking all our time on the new currency project and the mobile app at the moment. Guild is am important feature on Gaia, and it's something I wish to revamp sooner than later. Though when the time comes I'll solicit Gaians on what they would like for me to add or change.

July 25th, 2017: Zero Omega Dogoda Features Recently I found that I was ignored by a person because I could see people quoting them in the forums but I couldn't see that person's avatar. I could only see the quotes in quote trees. Keep in mind that I wasn't actively looking for this I just happened to notice it. Come to find out that same person was in one of my guilds that I own and run as a captain. I ended up checking the member list because the username sounded really familiar. Of course I removed said person from my guild because it doesn't make sense to keep that person in a guild if they ignored me. This leads me to make a suggestion. If someone ignores you then if they are in a guild that you own and run as a captain they should automatically be booted from said guild, because if you can't see the posts unless a person quotes them then it opens the door for potential drama. After all, not all guilds have a huge crew list. Sometimes it's just ran by a captain and a guild mule, this is more common with smaller guilds. Sometimes with bigger guilds not all the crew members are active so they might not catch what's going on. Plus some bad eggs out there could also put the entire crew list on ignore for the sake of stirring the pot, if we can't see the posts it makes it hard to make sure that everyone is following the rules. sweatdrop Would you consider doing this please? emotion_kirakira We can take down the suggestion and see if it's something we want to implement.

I understand the Platinum currency is new and still being worked out but my question is: the guild sub-forums have skyrocketed in price (from 2,500 G to 25,000,000 G) to accommodate the 2 Platinum it now costs (in that currency type) for each, however, from my understanding the Guild purchase deductions were to remain as is despite currency preferences -- so is this a bug/glitch or is this a permanent change in sub-forum cost? That's not a glitch. If you switch over the platinum you will be able to pay for those features very easily. We don't mean to change the experience for Gaians with gold currency, but some changes need to be done to avoid exploits, and there's very little reason to stick with gold at the same time compared to the benefits of switching over.

Please fix and give me my platinum back or put it in my guild, thank you. I try using quick reply and it tells me to log in then if I try making a regular post after attempting to use the quick reply option it says that I'm posting too quickly. Uh oh, didn't know I broke quick reply when adding tipping. Story of my life. I'll fix it tomorrow [ FYI, this was not yet fixed when I did this By Subject update. -Platonix]

November 21st, 2017: Lanzer StarIore FeaturesCould Gaia add more meaning to the tip system in forums/guilds by giving gaians the option to include a reaction or tiny message with their tips? People tip posts for various reasons beyond just saying I like/agree with your post. I have a tendency to tip to tell people I read their post and I intend on replying later or to say thank you or I got you. It would be nice if tips came with either a special emote or a pre-written message that could communicate something to the recipient with minimum effort which would be immensely helpful for mobile users like myself who have a hard time making quick forum responses. I see, I'll see what I can do to make a tipping history page.

I know it was possible to set guilds to be free to join in the past (it even says in the site's official guild faq - which, to be fair, is pretty out of date - that it's the discretion of the guild captain whether or not to charge an entry fee), but when creating a new guild now, the entry fee field automatically defaults itself back to 1p if you change it to 0, and there's no checkbox or anything to disable the fee - and on top of that I noticed today that a guild I'm currently co-captain of that has always been free to join now shows a 1p fee on the settings page. Sounds like a bug! We can fix it.

I am the leader of a guild and im trying to learn the best way i can, what is the best way i can improve the guild and attract new members? ( heart If I have time to manage a guild, I will probably add more content such as news and images, depending on the topic, much like how I started off with posting Waffles pictures. The favorite system actually can mark guild posts as favorites. I'll be enabling that feature later.

Right now we can only buy sub-forums. it will be cool to have more options, so donating could be more useful or even funny. Just let me know which features you want. I wish to port over the features in forums to guilds, though that might be a bigger undertaking than I can take on.

Also, guild posting has a post style called Honey that doesn't actually work, and also is not shown in forums. We need to port the new forum system to guilds, but for the time being, I'll look into the other post styles.

May 8th, 2018: Lanzer Vigilia FeaturesA while back, probably like, last year, I had asked about updates to Guilds and Lanzer had said it was on the list. Are there still plans to update Guilds at all? Sometimes I have come across issues in guilds, but when i bug report it, it gets no attention. I'm hoping that Guilds aren't going to get ignored completely, since I still use them and I think updates can help them become a more user-friendly and well used feature of the site. A complete update to the guild system is a lot of work, and is not slated until much later, but anytime there is a bug or problem please point me to the problem as I might have missed it.
