December 13th, 2016: lanzer Ozzy the Dreamer Features (Towns-related) So, Lanzer being back is hugely positive and exciting for a lot of us. My personal favorite staff member is codemonkey. He created my favorite features on the site, Towns 1 and 2! owo So I gotta ask, CAN WE HAVE HIM BACK SOON TOO? OwO I've been makin' lots of outfits lately, and that's nice and all. But I haven't felt motivated to take them to Towns because well... They've been the same for a while now. Without codemonks to keep things fresh and new, there's less excitement :[ I haven't paid much attention to his progress making games for Happy Place. Anyone know if he's hit a goal and can possibly return to working on stuff on Gaia? ninja For now it's only me, L0cke, and CP. There are others who would love to come back and join us, but first we need to make sure that we have the funds to add more members to our team. We'll get a slightly better idea once we pay our bill (fingers crossed) by the end of month.

December 20th, 2016: lanzer Geminai The Baby Paw FeaturesIs it plausable that Towns 1 could have its winter code enabled? For nostalgia mainly. I miss visiting it and hearing Carol of the Bells playing. Towns 2 is alright but a little heavy. I shall ping CodeMonkey and see if that's something I can enable. No promises though, I suck as all stuff Flash related.

January 17th, 2017: lanzer Akari Yui FeaturesWill future games, etc be more HTML based like Lake Kindred, because flash is very mobile UNfriendly? (I ask, because L0cke's nifty little forum preview for "live" forum interaction is based on towns and towns is flash based.) Everything we do moving forward will be HTML5, or in some instances, Unity. As we move forward, everything will have mobile access in mind. Unfortunately Flash is a thing of the past, and we'll either update and replace Gaia's flash features moving forward.

February 1st, 2017: Lanzer Juni Yosei Features when will we be able to accept adds from people on towns, towns2, and rally hollywood again? The accepting from flash space feature has been busted for years. Will have to wait a little bit as we don't have a flash engineer with us right now. Hope to save up some funds so we can start hiring again. sweatdrop We'll get there!

February 21st, 2017: Lanzer Excites ♡ Are you guys ever thinking about bringing back the old Rally? ♡ The one we have is old enough... biggrin Most like we'll build a new one that doesn't run on Flash. Lanzer The Noble Mr Bong Along Recently there has been something wrong in towns (technically towns 2) where the server will slowly lag out then eventually freeze for some users. At first I thought it was an internet issue until I saw the same thing has been happening with a few of my friends and everything else connection based working just fine. It happened to me twice already. It starts as slow chat lag, to horrible chat lag, then just eventually a full freezing of the client. Has the staff been informed of this issue already? Looks like a few servers need rebooting. I'll need to check on the servers to see what's going on. Lanzer Juni Yosei Features • I've been dealing with people randomly adding me over and over again after declining their request and even telling them please not to add me anymore even though my add request thing is off. This however; doesn't work in flash spaces. Is there a way of stopping that aside from filling up my ignore list? I can probably add a flood control, especially for those who don't get invites accepted. Will look into it next month.

March 14th, 2017: Lanzer Juni Yosei Other I was told by lanzer not too long ago that towns is changing from flash to something else and there would be a better chance at handling abuse of topics. I.E l 1. harassment and slander over the topics since we can't report the individual(s) responsible. 2. spam or abuse Is there a timeframe of when this might happen? I'd like to be able to download the appropriate things (If needed) onto my browser in order to continue access to gaia's better features. It'll take some time. Most likely after the summer. We are in the early stage of starting the mobile app but it's a long process.

There's a whole lot of abuse going on in them. ninja I'd love to assemble a task force of mods that deal exclusively with flash spaces, the problem I have right now is that we have very few mods on the team, and an even smaller number of users interested in being a mod. :c I implore you to accept applications again. I think you'd find there are more users interested than you think. I know I'm definitely interested! Those parts of the site get neglected, and I can't be the only one who wants to see change. 3nodding We're actually constantly accepting applications, it's just that the number of people applying is very low. We're looking at accepting a few people shortly. Zero Omega dissonances Interested users don't always meet the guidelines to be a mod though. :c Like, it's legitimately something that people are interested in, but can't really shoot for, since there's certain requirements. Not talking about the age one, but more the reporting content one. One could make the argument that if you're not reporting content (100 reports in six months is 1.8 reports a day), are you interested in helping moderate for the right reasons and help the community?

April 12th, 2017: codemonkey37179 Ms_Midnight_Killer Question Category features is there anyway we could get more places to hang out in towns 2/virtual hollywood/rally? i notice there are a lot of buildings that are just "decoration" but it would be cool to have access to those buildings and a lot of lag in certain areas cause people could fan out more (i.e screaming daggers in towns 2, the aquarium looking building towns 2, etc) Sorry not at the moment, but I hope to be giving some overdue attention to towns in the future.

While I would love to expand Towns 2, we need to transition away from flash to HTML5. I will be looking into Towns Mobile options in the near future. Does that mean we may get a new version of towns2 that runs on html5? will this also be available for PC web browsers? As far as I know, that is not the case.

Towns 1. At first i thought it was over-harvesting of bugs. Now it might be just wandering through too many frames, or, a time limit (ie bugs stop after x number of hours) No one knows for sure. Cause I can think of some pros and cons to this. Towns 1 being removed; pros; ○ No more harassment and attacking over anon town topics = less complaining from people like me XD (I'm a big one for the complaining about it ; x; since its mostly my friends and me being targeted) cause lets be honest.....being able to harass and shame someone anonymously is messed up....theres no way to defend yourself or report whoever's doing it. ○ topic spam being a thing of the past cons; people losing chances to hang around areas in larger groups without the horrible lag that towns 2 has. forcing us to use friendchats which only lets you post a limited amount of words per bubble. Basically i'm asking if we would have to rebuild by scratch or not and if we do have to will our gold be refunded to help us rebuild? Good question. Don't know. I have not yet started coding or even planning that yet.

My question is will we ever see a return of the movie theater in the near future by any chance ?.. I don't know. Upon my return to Gaia that question was asked 3 times in my first hour back. Summer Event, Mobile App, Halloween Event, Thanksgiving Event, Christmas Event..... But I really really want to put towns on the phone! While you're updating Homes (because it's apart of Towns), since people have requested being able to have their YouTube theaters back, why not tie it to Homes to give them more use. I think it's a pretty good idea.  So many people, including a lot of staff, have asked about the theater. I'm sure we will at least discuss the idea. codemonkey37179 leadweaver alice will rallys update to add more items and use for gaia cars again it seems now a days no one has incentives to race or play the mini game anymore? I know what you mean, and the spaces have always been my favorite project on Gaia. They are also the biggest project! We've got a lot to dust off, but we are getting to everything as fast as we can.

Do you have any spare time to make the latest be as compatible? Optional: Is there a way to have a Discord function attach to something like Chat? Firefox might be the browser to use moving forward for flash features.
