Chance let out a thoughtful hum. "Or maybe you're just special," he said, sliding a teasing smirk across at Finn. "But in all seriousness, that's a plausible explanation. I obviously didn't inherit anything from my mother, or if I did, she never told me."
He laughed, shaking his head. "At the very least, you're an interesting human being, Finn Connor, whether well-adjusted or not."
He was still holding his glass; and when Finn turned to look at him, there was hardly any space between them. Chance raised his eyebrows, his expression remaining mild, but there was a flicker of something else in his eyes, a look of amusement, perhaps, of curiosity.
"Oh?" he answered lightly, his eyes falling half shut, and if he moved forward, there would be no space between them at all. Still, he remained where he was, a smile playing at the corners of his lips, curving upwards until it was something not as vague as it usually was, until it was something sharper. "Well, do enlighten me."
And then Finn's mouth was on his and Chance had known it was coming; it was pleasantly warm, heat spreading over him, and he leaned into it, a hand coming up to wrap around the back of his neck and hold him in place. His other hand let go of the empty glass, and it rolled off of the bed and onto the floor, clinking gently.
"Hmmm," Chance hummed, and leaned back, just far enough to consider Finn's face. He shifted, sliding his hand down Finn's chest to curl his fingers loosely in the front of his shirt. He tilted his head thoughtfully and grinned, tilting his head up to press a light kiss back to Finn's lips, lingering. "Is this your proving to me what you were good at? You make a pretty good argument, I've gotta say."

Special was one way of putting it. Interesting just another. They were nice but completely misleading ways of saying what Finn already knew about himself, though he felt no need to correct the other man, as he was sure that it was unnecessary to do so. He'd been fairly open, regarding a great many things, and if there was one thing Chance had proved from their first meeting, it was that the he was quite good at reading people...even if Finn hadn't bothered to hide much. But all of that was barely a thought in the moon intermediates alcohol warmed brain right now. Instead he found himself focusing on raw need and desire, the kiss he'd pressed against Chance's mouth only starting out gentle, until lips parted, the kiss deepening, becoming something much more hungry, though far from desperate, when the other man reciprocated. When Chance leaned back, Finn's lips twitched up just slightly, his eye studying the other mans, waiting to see what he would do next, and how he would react. The second kiss was welcome, though Finn added in a small n** to the other mans bottom lip followed by a light chuckle. "I don't need to prove s**t, and I'm good at a great deal many more things than just this." He still had one hand with fingers tangled in Chance's curls at the back of his head, the other had lifted to grip on to the other mans side. "I could show you..." His voice had gone low, his head tilting down, teeth grazing lightly against Chance's jaw, moving towards his neck.

Finn was all sharpness and raw heat, something that Chance appreciated; and though he didn't easily get drunk, the alcohol gave him a pleasant warmth that only magnified what Finn was currently doing. It was simultaneously interesting and inviting, and a low growl escaped Chance's throat at the n**, reverberating against Finn's mouth before he leaned back. It was rather nice to feel this comfortable with someone else; and maybe they weren't close, maybe they were still getting to know each other, but regardless, he felt good, and Finn apparently felt good, and that was all that really mattered.
"Good point," said Chance, and he lifted his free hand as he shifted a little closer, sliding his arm around the other man's shoulders as he tilted his head, giving Finn more access to his neck. "Proving things is overrated, anyway. I'm all for just learning by example, wouldn't you say?"
One leg slid up as Chance leaned back into the pillows, pulling Finn with him. The hand at the front of the other man's shirt tightened a little, a smile playing at the corners of Chance's lips as he nudged Finn's face up again so that he could look at him.
"Showing is an excellent way to learn things," Chance said, and dragged him into another kiss, deep and hungry and curious for more.

Like Chance, Finn was far from drunk. A little warm, yes, with perhaps an edge of fuzziness. Mostly the alcohol had taken the chill off from being outside, and had maybe, just slightly, made him a tiny more bold than he might have been otherwise, though with Finn he generally took what he wanted with or without the help of inebriating substances, so even that much was difficult to determine. And it did feel good, the kissing, the heat. The low growl that Chance gave in response to the small n** was exciting, and only served to spurn Finn on, though without knowing Chance's full restrictions or, daresay, kinks, he was at least unwilling to venture any further down the pain for pleasure trail. Kisses were brushed along the other man's neck, and more grazing of teeth, not really meant to hurt, hot breath and a light chuckle at the other man's words and question trailing against Chance's skin until he was moving, and taking Finn down with him, their mouths soon finding each others once again. There wasn't really time to think about the rights and wrongs of this situation. Somewhere deep inside perhaps there was just the smallest tinge of guilt, or maybe even regret. It would soon fade, however, buried beneath throes of pleasure and passion, though likely to resurface again after it was all said and done. But it was what he and Ripley had agreed on, after all. They weren't tied to only each other, not required to be one hundred percent faithful. The fact that Finn had been (save for what had happened with Chelsea) all this time since his agreement with the other man had been struck may have all just been coincidence. They spent a lot of time together, most nights, in fact, and the thought of seeking out more had never really occurred. Until now, at least, but this was more like taking what was presented right in front of him, which had occurred through a freak chain of events that had begun when he had woken up too early that day and had decided to go about his daily routine despite the rain. He hadn't sought out Chance specifically. He hadn't been planning this from the moment he first met him. The flirting and offers had been like a force of habit, something he was unwilling or perhaps even unable to stop himself from doing. The kiss Finn gave in response was just as eager, one hand used to prop himself up just enough for his other to roam, the kiss breaking off long enough just for the moon intermediate to growl "Take your clothes off." Apparently conversation, at this point, was just as overrated as proving himself.

The alcohol had served its purpose - namely to taste good and add to the heat already existing in the room. Chance let out a hiss of breath between his teeth as Finn's mouth moved down his neck, and then back to his mouth, warm and hungry and almost demanding, but not quite.
He was unaware of Finn's arrangement with Ripley, unaware of anything at all except for the fact that Finn was comfortable to be around, that he was easy to talk to, that he was attractive and sharp and here. It was an entirely unplanned circumstance that they were both taking advantage of; a situation in which they had both silently (or maybe a better word was wordlessly, since their hands were doing a better job of it) accepting this path. The heat from Finn's mouth and his hands were very appealing to Chance, very encouraging, and Chance arched into them, hands clenched in the front of the other's shirt to hold him in place.
A smile curved his lips upwards, still pressed against Finn's.
"So demanding," he said teasingly, kissing him once more before pulling back and reaching between them to find the hem of his shirt. A few seconds later, he'd managed to get it off, his jeans still on but unbuttoned as he dragged Finn back to him, looping one lazy arm around his neck and tangling his fingers in his hair to press a warm kiss against his throat and then his jaw and then back to his mouth again. His other hand slid beneath the hem of Finn's shirt, rested in the waistband of his jeans.
Clearly he wasn't much for conversing at the moment either.

There wasn't much room left in Finn's mind for thinking at that point, and words were going to be few and far between, hopefully soon to be replaced by moans of pleasure. It was quite pleasing to see how readily Chance accepted this, both of them apparently on the same page when it came to the physical attraction between each other. He hadn't been sure that anything was going to happen, he was almost never sure of anything, no matter how much he wanted to pretend he was, but it felt good to have made the right choice in this matter. Finn smiled against Chance's lips in return, but it was small, and short lived, a murmured. "You're damn right I am. Now strip." The only reply the other man would get. He backed off just enough to let the other man pull his shirt off, and he took in the sight of him, this time up close, eye dragging over the contours of his muscles with a small smirk. It was short lived, however, his attention dragged back to Chance's face, his lips, his hands. Finn stayed propped up enough on one arm to let his free hand work downward, tugging against the undone top of the other mans jeans before working lower. He thought that he should tell him that this wouldn't mean anything after they were finished. He thought that would have been the smart thing to do, in case there were any expectations. But Chance didn't strike him as the type to have expectations. It was risky, but it was a risk he was willing to take, at the moment, not wanting to ruin things by stopping now. At some point, Finn had become liberated from his own shirt, either by his own hands or Chance's. At some point, not long afterwards, the rest of his clothing followed. He was eager. They both wanted this. That much had been made more than clear, and there was really no point in dragging out the inevitable. ------------- The worst thing about the island was, even when it was pissing down rain, it was too ******** muggy. Finn's body, exhausted as it was, felt far too hot, and he was covered from head to toe in a sheen of sweat, his hair damp, his breathing hard as his heart continued to race for just those few moments longer before it began to slow. He was naked, collapsed on his back in Chance's bed, his eye closed. His face was expressionless, no smile, no frown. And arm was brought up, a wrist pressed against his forehead. "So." He finally breathed out, eye opening as his head twisted to the side to look at the other man. "Guess my snarky mouth wasn't the only thing about me you liked. You tired yet?" A teasing tone, a small smirk, and then. "I should probably find my clothes...." He didn't really feel like getting up yet, though. kuroopu hope a fade to black was okay if not I can edit~

Fortunately for Finn, he didn't need to talk about expectations, or strings or anything of the sort. Stopping to ask would have only made him snort in exasperation, so it was perhaps a good thing that Finn just continued on the way he was. This moment in time was meant to be enjoyed; they were both physically attracted to each other, and for now that was all that was needed. It was warm (very warm), and Finn was both very hot and very talented in terms of pleasure, and therefore Chance so no reason for either of them to deny themselves something that they would both enjoy.
Sometime during their little tussle, Finn had lost his shirt; Chance ran his hands along the toned muscle of the other man's torso admiringly before gripping his hair again and kissing him forcefully.
He would have said something, but words weren't really necessary, so he settled for other forms of communication.
--------
It was humid. A combination of the rain, the overall muggy atmosphere of the island itself, and the sweat currently pooling in the hollow of Chance's throat as he lay beside Finn, one arm beneath his head, the other resting on his stomach. The corner of a sheet was tossed over part of his right leg, but the rest of him was bare, and the sheet wasn't helping much.
He turned his head to look sideways at Finn, a grin tugging at Chance's lips. "Your snarky hands are pretty nice, I'll admit," he said cheekily, and then laughed, a low, slightly rough sound. "That really depends on your definition of the word tired, but yes, I'm pretty pleased right about now. A little worn out, I'll also admit; you're pretty damn intense."
It was meant as a compliment, Chance lifting his gaze to the ceiling. He didn't particularly feel like getting up either, and stayed where he was, exhaling a short breath.
"You weren't lying; you are very good at what you do," he added, with a slight smirk.

Finn snorted. Snarky hands? What did that even....He let out a low chuckle next, rolling onto his side and scooting to the edge of the bed to give them both some much needed space in all of the heat. "But it wasn't enough to help you get some sleep? I must be losing my touch." Slowly, and with a small grunt that suggested he'd really rather not, he sat up, legs swinging over the edge of the bed. "I guess I can't take all of the credit. You weren't bad yourself." His eye scanned the room, as the dim light of early morning dawn began to lighten the still gloomy and grey horizon. "Now, as long as we can both agree that this wasn't anything more than just sex, I can call it a fantastic morning and go about the rest of my day as normal." He cast a glance over his shoulder, smirked, and leaned forward to grab for his jeans, and underwear, which were thankfully nearby and both within reach.

"No, I'm pretty sure I could sleep damn well now," said Chance lightly, as a small wave of displaced air ruffled between them as Finn shifted away. "Like I said, you're a very talented man, Finn Connor. Your abilities are quite pleasing."
He lifted a hand and rubbed at his brow before sliding his fingers through his sweat dampened hair, pushing it back away from his face. "Thanks," he said, sliding an amused look at Finn's back. "I like to think I have a certain amount of good skills in certain areas, so it's nice to hear that they're appreciated."
Chance debated sitting up and then decided against it; it was too hot and he was extremely worn out. "Yep," he answered and smiled. "Fantastic sex is all it needs to be, and I'm totally good with that."
He blew out a breath, ruffling his curls, and smirked in Finn's direction. "Thanks, by the way. For helping me with a much more appealing method to falling asleep than just reading a boring book, I mean."

Slipping the bottom half of his clothes back on, Finn stood up, buttoning and zipping up his jeans before doing his belt back up. He listened to the compliments, drinking it all in, and of course it made him feel good to hear it, because who wouldn't have liked to have been told how good they were in bed? "Glad to hear it." He said, turning around even as he reached towards the desk where he had left his cigarette sitting from earlier. Placing it between his lips, he moved to pick up his t-shirt next, but didn't bother putting it on, or the boots and socks that he gathered up next. He wasn't exactly in a hurry to leave, but once Finn got himself up and moving, he was pretty much ready to go. He appreciated that Chance was good with it just being sex and nothing more. He didn't want things to turn messy, didn't need some little puppy dog following him around and needing attention. Chance had not, by any means, struck him as that type but....stranger things had happened. "Good, because...." He debated mentioning he was with somebody else...however loosely the term "with" could be used. "...I'm really not interested in more than that." He was near the door, leaning against it, a smirk still playing on his lips even around the cigarette. "Don't mention it. I think I got about the same amount of enjoyment out of it that you did. And like I said, you can always call me if you ever need help again." Not that Finn could guarantee that he would answer that call, but he had put the offer on the table earlier and he saw no reason to retract it now.

Chance stayed where he was as Finn moved around, too tired and worn out to do much more than just lie there and stare at the ceiling (though his eyes had flickered to watch as Finn had gotten dressed, because why not enjoy the show while he had it). One of his hands was still in his hair, idly sifting through the damp curls.
He wasn't sure what time it was, but since today was his day off, he didn't really care. Chance turned his head again as Finn spoke, the other man already leaning against the door. A smile played on the corners of his lips as Chance finally pushed himself upright a little, one leg falling off the side of the bed (unlike Finn, however, he had little intention of putting actual clothes on, it was still too hot in the room for that).
"Neither am I," he said lightly. "Fun is fun, sex is sex, doesn't have to be much more than that."
A small laugh escaped him. "You're a generous man, Finn," said Chance with a grin. "If I ever need some help falling asleep again, I'll give you a call."
He had trouble falling asleep every night, but he had no desire to be ringing up Finn every single night, and neither, he suspected, did Finn. But he had thoroughly enjoyed the night, so it was good to know that it could be a possible option in the future.

It didn't have to be much more than that.It didn't have to be, but Finn knew, in some cases, it was nice to have it be just that little bit more, just enough to make it feel like he did actually belong to somebody, that they cared, to some extent, and appreciated having him around. That's what he felt like he had with somebody already. Everybody else who let him in their bed was just an added cherry on top. Finn scoffed a laugh, ducked his head a little to look down at the floor as if thinking about something, and then looked up again, typical cold smile still in place. "See you around." With that, he reached behind him with his free hand, and opened the door, slipping out into the hallway and out of sight, the door closing behind him as he left. The bottle of whiskey was left behind. kuroopu it feels oddly like he left a calling card or something. or like a book mark just like MARKING THIS SPOT WILL BE BACK LATER don't touch my whiskey in the meantime. :T
