Harland laughed. "Naw, those'll steal yer soul," he said, with a sort of simple smile. He totally was kidding, Cee.
He blushed at the compliment, and rubbed the back of his neck. "I coulda drawn it now if I had my stuff," Harland said, "It doesn't take me much time at all." Harland handed her his phone. "Add yourself? An' when I'm done I'll text to drop it off," he said. Unless she didn't really want the sketch, which she should probably say, because Harland was serious.
"Maybe," Harland said, "It was like that once. It's not 's bad as it seems, I'm not comfortable with people knowin' too much of my personal life anyway. Happy t' talk about him, though, because it makes me smile," Harland said. He was, in fact, smiling a lot more sincerely than he had been for a lot of the fight.

Cee took the phone and tapped her info in, resisting the urge to snoop through his messages and contacts and photos. She'd behave. It was given back with a grin. "Well whatever makes you happy I guess. I gotchu on'at though. I don't talk about none'a my personal s**t wit anyone." Her phone buzzed and she checked it, chuckling at whatever it was, and texting back. Her social life was entirely sustained by the tiny device.

There was literally nothing interesting on Harland's phone-- except for, in fact, one very telling photo of Alistaire standing with his back to the skyline of Galway at night, fireworks in the back. Their first, and very elaborate, date. Harland didn't do casual very well.
Nevertheless, he was curious to see if Cee was nosy. She had resisted, if she was, and that meant a lot. He beamed at her. "Should probably lock mine," Harland admitted, accepting his phone back and sending her a quick text so she had his number, too.

Cee shrugged at the comment. She had all kinds of scandalous things on her phone but none of it could be blackmail or otherwise, she just didn't give a ********. There was a quiet as she filed him away swiftly. "Well tha fight was a bust.. unless you wanna start up again?" She smiled, fingers twining in the grass. "Whadda they call it? Tha old college try er somethin?"

"Never heard of it," Harland admitted, with a grin. "Do ye mean now? Or after some food an' maybe strategizin' on how to approach those whips o' yours?" he asked, shaking his head.

"Right now!" Cee popped up and patted her butt off. "Now we got our questions outta the way. Maybe the break was like a ********.. refresher er'whatever." Since they hadn't really rested, Snap's FEAR capacity was still where it had been before, a fact she made a point to tell Cee in a rare moment of dialogue. "Let's flip fer it." He really wasn't. Harland stared at Cee blankly, trying to remember why they were fighting.
Oh right. Two whips, they were so cool.
From across the field, he'd had a fangirl moment. Well, he may as well lose fair and square-- even if he didn't really feel in the groove much now.

With head and tails, he'd won but Cee had sidestepped his weapon and struck back instead. She lashed out with both whips, once and then twice. Yep, better this time. HP: 31/40 Dmg: 5 Charge: 1/3

Every time those whips with metal like living blades struck him, he winced. They were beautiful to behold, it was true, but for the first time he had met a weapon which his really didn't have a strategy to combat.
Too fast to catch them, too thin to block them properly-- he was left trying to brace the worst of it on his gauntlet-clad hand so that at least he felt it less with his shield still intact.HP: 19/40 Dmg: 2 Charge: 1/3

"I spend a lot o' time developin' tactical procedures for it," Harland said, glad to talk about the weapon while they fought, even if he was a** at defending against Cee's.
"It'd be tough, but yeah, why not? Your reflexes'd have t' be off th' charts though, dependin' on what ye wanted t' block-- mine's straight forward enough. Use the cable to deflect projectiles, an' use the gauntlet in melee."
Harland beamed at her, good-naturedly, "Unfortunately for me, your weapons're both melee enough an' fast enough, an' since there's two and I've only got th' one gauntlet, odds'r against me," he said.
Which made this fight more valuable, really.
He aimed his hookshot at her legs. The last thing he could do was destabilize, which could help even in these situations.
HP: 16/40

"Never even thought about it," Harland admitted, laughing, suddenly very grateful they hadn't gotten tangled, indeed. It would be quite a mess to sort out the razor-wire cable and the living metal whips.
"Maybe desummonin'd fix it," he wondered, aloud.
He realized he was getting really tired, and his shield was running out fast. He didn't regret continuing the battle after their conversation. He would carry on until he really couldn't handle it any more.

Cee's whips were pulsing and glowing hungrily. "Hey ya mind?" She held them up, "My weapon's doin'at thing again.." She started to lash them like a wild woman. The whips streaked and spun with runic light as Cee came at Harlind like a whirling dervish. She didn't have qualms about knocking him down when she knew they were safe within the barrier zone. ------ HP: 22/40 Dmg: 14 Charge: 0/3
