It didn't sound like anyone that spoke was unwilling to die for the cause. Sad as that may be it made her feel better. They were all willing to give this their full measure of courage, their last breath. She nodded at Lyonesse who spoke very strongly. She agreed with that sentiment and that courage.

The kitty spoke again and she actually afforded a smile and extra scritches around the ears.

Scylla sparked her interest and made a fair point. It wasn't enough to have leaders within little striking groups but they also needed to make a coordinated effort as well. As much as she hated to admit it the set up the Negaverse had worked. Pawns united under a knight who united under a bishop who answered to the King or Queen. They could have small groups answering to a leader. Those leaders could answer to tacticians, a council.

But first...

"We need to split into groups - We need to know who is willing to fight and who is willing to kill and then we need to know what each of our powers can do."

She nodded to Scylla, not caring is she turned out to be a bishop or a pawn. The point was that she got to fight against the tyranny of the Negaverse.

"I propose we elect a war Council. Those elected can coordinate the war effort and help organize the smaller groups and concert their efforts. It shouldn't be very large but we'll need support leaders, like Camelot, and offensive leaders as well to make it effective."

When Paris spoke she turned her head sharply and frowned. There was a difference between knowing you would die in an effort and purposefully walking into it with very little to gain. Metallia would be heavily guarded and though she didn't know the senshi she knew no one could go against the Nega leader and their immediate guards alone and hope to win.

"If that is the choice you want to make we need to make sure you aren't throwing your life away. A lot of us have attracted the Negaverse's attention." She for murdering some of its members. "We can't afford to be cavalier here. Every life counts."

A bitter laugh, Castor's wings unfurled as his body shook. He tried to control it but it was a lost effort, he was forced to brace himself on the wall as they kept talking. He wanted to hit Camalot. Hit him because he was so painfully blind. So ignorant to Castor. So damn idealist in a world that was so very lacking.

"You think we can pick and choose at this point? Those of chaos are not the ones from years past. They are now sheep, raised and surrounded to think as they are told to think. Even so, we find someone who wishes redemption? We can no longer afford that. The second we royals risk our lives we give chaos forces the advantage. They know of the weak soft hearts, they PREY upon those feelings. Gods- how blind do you have to force yourself to be? You're asking us to save what? A handful? Just so they can die? So we can risk hundreds of others? Jesus-" His eyes were fixed on the knight commander who was weak. Pacifist. Idealistic. "Face the music Camalot. Your earth is corrupt. As much as it pains you the fact will not change, Earth is lost." His face soften when the other earth knight spoke. Families, children. Things he didn't have. Likely, would never have. He was cruel. He had to be cruel. He had to be cruel because that was all that was left for him.
Yet he still wished it wasn't like that. He wished he still didn't care enough to make himself be cruel.

"I am sorry, but you have to face the realities. In this generation, in this lifetime, earth has become corrupt. We have lost. In the future? Perhaps earth will be free of Chaos's influence. But there is no future for your families on earth. There is no life free from the corruption that has seeped so well into this world. They indoctrinate any and all. I am not ignorant, Scylla," He hissed at the senshi of the kracken, "Chaos will always move. But we can't simply focus our energies on a place that is lost. A brave warrior might fight until his last breath which frankly, some of you all seem to happy to do, but a smart warriors knows when to retreat. He knows when he is defeated and cannot win."

He was no longer laughing, smiling, or even expressing his usually pissed off at the world expression. There was simply sadness.

"When we die, we die leaving behind a world that will be consumed. Those are facts that will not change. All we can hope for is to slow the process at best."

"I cannot say I will fight a lost battle, knowing that is will make no difference. Tell me how dying here will somehow make a difference." He challenged.
"Explain to me, how a fast death will protect the future. If you cannot? Then I leave." He would hate himself. He already did.

"I will leave and spend my days planning for a battle that we will win. Make no mistakes, I am not white moon." He could feel his brother. Feel his warning- and he ignored it.
"I am Castor, and I will never bow to your queen Serenity. I have no reason to die for a world that is lost."
He did. He had dozens of reasons. "Give me a reason."

Her heart certainly ached for the Prince who stood in front of them all, his body shaking. Elzo- no, Castor- had lost so much in the fight against Chaos. Then again, so had they all. "Friends, lovers, husbands, wives, children. The loss of them is more than enough to make anyone bitter." she said aloud, her eyes meeting him dead on. He had spoken to her, after all, but this- it felt like so much more than bitterness, and she couldn't let this darkness go unopposed anymore than she could let Chaos go, not anymore. "You're right, they aren't sheep anymore! But you- did you listen to what you said? You just made the argument for why we- why you- have to stay and fight!"

Her voice rose, and she was blissfully ignorant of her aggression. "If we flee- You're asking us to save what? A handful? Just so they can die? So we can abandon millions of others? Chaos will always move. And what happens when it does? It comes to worlds populated by one. Our words, planets, wonders- they can't provide us all the sustenance we would need to live out our lives. They won't all provide shelter, won't provide mates, to breed, to continue a line of senshi. Our starseeds, when we die, will be born here. In the heart of Chaos!"

Her hand went to her stomach, shaking with fury. "When we die, alone and forgotten on our planets, cursed by the people we abandoned and betrayed, we die leaving behind a world that will be consumed. A world that will be nothing but fodder." She shook her head at him, lip curled. "You want to know what you have to fight for, Prince Castor? Family! Friends! Vengeance, if it helps to warm your bed at night. I think a better question- is what DON'T you have to fight for!"

The short hand squeeze from the other powered-down transcended gave Ida heart and some of the lines of stress on her face eased.

There was so much talk from so many different people about so many different routes forward from here... but all seemed agreed that this was The End. Their last stand... but truly, what would be left after they all gave their lives in one last glorious fight? This camp was full of non-combatants... people who would be waiting for the people here to come home to them. People who would be left with nothing but heartache and their own slow death to await. And for all the people here, there were hundreds more in the city, in other cities. How many unawakened powers remained? Would they abandon them to their fates as well? Dying here, or fleeing... both would leave this place to the whims of the Negaverse, and yet she could not see a clear path to take.

Ida was not a strategist... she was, at heart, a healer despite how many years she had spent on the field. Nothing came into her mind as the proper course to go from here, only thoughts of the loss they would all suffer when the people that fought for them fell. She felt... helpless to do anything. When they all went out to fight this last battle, could she even justify going with them? There would still be people here who would need caring for, protection... Her heart squeezed at the thought that she might have to accept standing on the sidelines and watching the death of everything because of the chain of responsibility she had forged around her own neck.

"I agree with those who urge cutting the head off of the snake." She said finally, lifting her eyes to look around at the others. "If this is to be our end, then make it count... As Castor said, prepare the way for the future. If you take out the top of the Negaverse, they will be left in disarray and it will give those of us who are left time to regroup, to grow stronger. Others are right... there are too few of us to take on the enemy in a straight up battle. Strike instead at the heart, like an arrow. Metallia should be the target... Maybe there is a way to reach her."

Which... brought up a curious idea, actually. Ida fiddled with her orchid-marked bracelet, pondering. Her eyes shifted to Castor in slow study.

"If you need a reason to stay and fight, Prince... think of all the people you will leave behind if you flee. There are still innocent people, people worth saving, on this planet. Its the center... the turning point. If this world falls, all of them will. Why else were we brought here, of all places in the galaxy?"

Gods, she wished she were better at this... but she was forever so frustratingly less than she wanted to be.

Fai looked up to Sabina, taking her hand and squeezing. "I wish it were under better circumstances my friend." The hug was also returned, with enough space for her stomach, though really it wasn't THAT big, she was just nervous and jittery about it all.

She sat back and listened to all that was said, and when the call was to separate themselves, she was the first to get up and move to the side that wouldn't fight. Mostly because she couldn't, but also because she wouldn't. Her arms crossed under her chest and her chin lifted just a bit. Not in a bit of a snobbish attitude but because the things thrown around were always the same.

It was fight or die. or Die fighting. Or fight to Die. She wondered why none of them ever thought to ask if the Negaversers wanted to be free from the organization, without having to purifying.

She wondered why she was here at all. her no stance on fighting, her passiveness, the fact that she ran a refugee not just for white moons, but dark mirror and Negaverse deserters? She didn't fit here in the order camp with their extremes.

"Don't mistake my words," Camelot said gently, when he was able, "I will fight for my home, and I will do all that I need to in order to do it. If that means kill, then it cannot be avoided at this point. But I won't kill for the sake of it, and I will not lose sight of myself in the face of anger or pain. I know there are still those in Chaos that will fight with us, and for us. There are those that still want to join us and we can't shut that door on them. They might be just as vital to all of this as we standing together."

He looked at Shalott, nodded his head slowly. He heard her response and he understood it, though he knew that some of her passion came from a place of hurt, and a need for revenge. He listened to Faust and Lyoness as they spoke, then looked at Scylla.

"I will fight as hard as anyone here is willing, and I will lead, if that is what we need, one of the assaults. I am more than willing to use my power to stand forward if there are those that are willing to stand with me. As many have said, we need to know first who is here to fight, and who is willing to do what." He wanted to spare a moment to smile toward Dionysia and Hvergelmir, but he would have to find another time. He did look their way and offer them a nod.

He looked at Castor, then, and shook his head.

"I am not so ready to abandon my planet. Why have we stayed this long, if not to take it back? We have always had that hope, and now is the time to act on it. You find it foolish and you have your own valid points, but I cannot believe what you say. This planet is not lost. If you have somewhere else to go, then go to it. If you want to plan for your own battle, then do so. If we fail, then you will have your fight, and you will be proven correct, for all the good that does. I am not going to die here, not today, not any time soon. I am going to fight for my home, my planet, and I am going to win. That is all I know, and that is what I am willing to believe in. If anyone wants to believe in it with me, then they will stand with me."

He looked around the room again, catching his breath.

"I'm sorry. But again, if you don't think you can fight, then don't. If you want to leave, if you agree that fleeing and fighting again another day is the better option, then do what you believe in. We need a united front of soldiers willing to fight, of soldiers dedicated to that fight. We need your hearts and all the hope you have left. Whatever you can give to this last stand of ours.

I do believe a good point was raised, that Metallia should be one of our main goals. If anyone has more to offer on that, I would be interested to hear."

There was a lot going on, to say the least. Fortunately, Megrez was happy to see that people were fired up and willing to fight. She knew she could count on Faust to rally the troops, so to speak. However, prior to that, a certain Prince Castor had voiced a worrying sentiment: that everyone should just leave Earth forever, deem the blighted planet doomed and wait till the next reincarnation cycle to begin again. Megrez opened her mouth as if she was going to say something, but nothing came out. How many times had she experienced that very feeling, that feeling of wanting to take everyone off of Earth because the battle was lost? Many of those present seemed to disapprove of the idea, and it was both a blow and a boon to the egg senshi. On the one hand, it made her ashamed that she had ever thought such a thing; on the other, it reinforced her will and cleared away some of her doubts. The others would not let her wallow in pitiful fantasies of sublimation, and so she could not allow that herself either. The funk brought on by the incident with Sakuradite and Zircon and Penthesilea needed to clear now.

The Cosmos Knight by Hvergelmir (Dionysia) and the Earth Knight (Shalott) seemed to have similar lines of thinking in that Order should group up into those who wanted to fight and those who didn't. Megrez knew which camp she was in. "Let me say this: I will fight. I've been in this too long to just give up and pull out. Whatever role this new organization scheme we're developing calls for me to be in, I'll do it. I'm no leader, but I'm a good soldier. And I agree with earlier ideas that we should try to strike at their heart. If we take out even one General-King or Queen, it'll be a big step in our favor. Now is the time for action."

Maybe she didn't have much to contribute other than stating her position and willingness to fight, but perhaps that was important. Every person counted. Remembering that Dionysia had asked for people to reposition themselves depending on their stance, Megrez moved towards the side of the room with the map on it to make herself clear.

Sabina's heart went out to Fai. It was right for her to move to the side that would not fight. There was no reason for her to risk her unborn child's life for this senseless war. She followed after her and bent to whisper, "I will fight for you and your family. I know who you hold dear." That was all. An acknowledgement that she knew how hard this must all be. A nod towards the fact that Sabina knew who she kept safe. This knight would only pick off the ones deserving of death. Sometimes, staying with the Negaverse kept families safe and within the circle of knowledge.

She offered a reassuring smile to Fai before moving to the other side. There had never been any question in her mind. Sabina had always been on the side that would fight. She would fight to the bitter end. Be it death or salvation that met with her in the end, there was no choice but this choice. Finally, all the frustration and anger would be let out. The waiting around in her bookstore, unable to fight back, would pay off. The Negaverse did not know she was on the side of Order. No, they thought of her as a bookstore owner. Her identity was still intact. The White Moon Court would win. She would make damn sure of that.

In a courtesy to the man who trained her, she greeted him. "Camelot, I don't know if you remember what I look like as a civilian but I will fight beside you." She offered him a smile too. One of hope for the future.

At the moment, she had no words for the rest. She knew where she stood and would fight with those also willing to give their life for this cause, a cause worth fighting for.

It wasn't often that Athene left the Guard perimeter these days, unless he was needed for a mission and it was an open secret that the dark-haired senshi generally had to be forced into taking downtime however for this meeting he had made an exception.

He hadn't been the first to arrive, a side effect of being on shift - one of his own rather than one volunteered - prior to the meeting's start, however nor had been one of the last.

He had come as he spent so much of his time these days, in his eternal form, but had picked a space that was somewhat alone.

He hadn't said anything for much of the discussion, but had instead listened in silence however at Camelot's words about knowing who would fight he had at last spoken, his voice quiet but despite that resolute "I will stay and I will fight" he said. "And I'll even kill if I must - although I would prefer not to." He looked at Camelot "Command's not my forte so I won't volunteer to lead unless you feel there's a need given that there are others amongst us who are better suited and my magic's better suited to support anyway, but you know my skills and I'll go where they'll be of best use."

If this was to be his end then so be it - Athene wasn't afraid of dying - not anymore.

((Liryn, Falias and Oort posts will be done when I get in from work tonight.))

Lithiasaur
feel free to have Camelot know of Athene's Prince status Lith, he prob'ly won't advertise it unless it gets brought up but I figure Camelot would probably be one of those in the know
PostPosted: Fri Sep 19, 2014 1:02 pm

Falias knew that he was taking a risk being here, but there were times when taking risks were unavoidable - the war had taught him that.

Besides he was already taking risks - he took risks when he arranged to have what he could smuggled to the Resistance, took risks when he visited Falias so what one more risk?

Whether this risk was one that would be one worth taking remained to be seen, but Falias still wasn't one for dilly-dallying about making decisions so he had closed up shop for the day and come anyway.

He too had listened to those who had spoken and had even managed for the most part to keep his tongue at least until the white haired senshi prince's outburst at Camelot. "With such a defeatist attitude, we may as well surrender to the Negaverse now" he snapped. "You say that we should retreat, that we should run away but what about those left behind? Are you saying that we should abandon them to the Negaverse's tender mercies?"

His green eyes were fierce "Well I won't, I'm going to fight." Not everyone out in the city was under the Negaverse's thrall - there were good people out there too - good people that had risked their lives - were still risking their lives. "Besides as it's already been mentioned - what's to stop them following if we flee?" Better in his book for them to to make a stand.

Shalott had never been so proud to be White Moon in her life.

She went to stand next to her husband and discreetly reached out to squeeze his hand. With his strong stance she needed to stand united with him while she could and prove both of their words true. They all needed to stand together. Maybe if she physically did it then more people would follow suit.

"Now, Castor is entitled to make his own choice, too. He has reasons to fight and he has reasons not to, like we all do. If he doesn't want to make the example we need to step up and make it for ourselves."

She followed what Dionysa suggested and thought where she and Camelot were standing was good enough for their stance.

"I'm willing to lead and I'm willing to follow here. Whatever needs to be done I'm happy to do it. We need to know where people stand. Those that are willing to fight should gather on this side of the room with Camelot and I. Those that want to play support roles only can gather across from us."

Of course, at the moment she was doing more guiding than following but as a mom she just couldn't help but be a little pushy sometimes. She smiled at Falias and made a gesture for him to join the correct side of the room. She was proud of him, proud of them all that were willing to make a stand.

Castor could not help it. He couldn't help his own emotions. And despite his brother near, he couldn't help but lash out.

"Then die like the stupid, nearsighted fools you are!" His words came out with bitterness and hate. "Die trying to defend a world doomed to die! Die in the fires of your selfish actions! Let the world be consumed and every life lost to chaos because you fail to even grasp what disaster looms on the horizon!"

"I am tired of fighting a war we cannot win. Of trying to save a planet so deep in the gasp of darkness that the second we die all light will vanish. You will fail. You will die and you will fail and every life shall be lost. Your justice, your revenge, your nobility is a farce. You walk into a trap laid before you years in the making. I am sick of playing to the hands of the Negaverse. Into the hands of your white moon." There was a crackle of power as ice cracked along his face. What tears he had has frozen. His heart had broken.
"I am sick of pandering to your foolishness and willingness to give them what they want. Years you tried to reason, to be greater. You're nothing. No better than moths to a flame. Your white moon is the same as it was a thousand years ago."

He spat out the word like a curse. "Weak. Die crying for your dead princess to save you white moon. Die and doom your peoples to the darkness." Another crack, the ice along his body, a thin membrane shattering and falling to the ground. Behind him, Pollux stood. Silent, eyes focused on his brother. The brother he loved beyond mere blood. The brother who shared everything with him. The brother who would as it were-

Pollux had not henshined in years. Yet in his arms a child not even a year old was wrapped in a soft yellow blanket. Two other children staring at their uncle, more worried than afraid. Where as the prince of hail had been childless, his brother had been blessed. Handing the newborn to his eldest, Pollux faced his brother. "Take them." What fury in Castor did not ebb. It remained, crackling as ice formed against his body and broke off in fragments.

"Wait for me brother." A single moment of anger as Castor lashed out at his sibling. A cut digging into his chest and red staining his suit. Yet Pollux remained unfazed. "Take them, and wait for me."

Again, Castor lashed out, this time, to punch Pollux in the jaw. A crack, froze did not moved as hail went for his nieces and nephew. Words remained unspoken and Castor simply grabbed the children, and vanished.

Where Castor left, Pollux remained.

"This doesn't change our fates. Nor the fates of those who will remain when we die."

Just what the hell was Wafflefries doing here in the first place? Tactics. That's what they spoke about. Tactics, strategies, all sorts of crap that went straight over his head just as much as mentions of interplanetary space travel. That cat that woke him didn't say much. The damned thing kinda was bothered by the fact that he had chased him all around, shouting about wanting to fight. And now he had that opportunity but beyond fighting a youma he had never actually came into immediate fighting things with a REAL member of the Negaverse.

The only reason he was even here today was because he happened a bit earlier with Faust, having followed the cat here and hadn't really bothered to go back home. Hell, he didn't even know how to get home from here. And now they talked about a decisive move in war efforts and he was MORE than happy to engage in a fight but everyone here was so much more powerful than he was. They whined about losses and how extensive damage was to their personal lives and bull like that but sitting around whining about it wasn't going to get s**t done! More to him it was all 'revenge revenge revenge' kinda crap going down.

He wandered a bit closer to the 'adults' who seemed to be arguing about all of the fighting and stuff. Speaking up a bit to voice his own opinion.

"Fighin' is good and all, but what about those kids still stuck in the city? There ARE people there who would be caught in the crossfire if there's an attack going on. I mean, yeah, fighting is fantastic, rip those ******** negas to shreds, I say! But there are still kids there. People who are just suckin' it up just to make sure they aren't going to get killed in the middle of the night. Are we just, you know, forgettin' about those guys?" Wafflefries took a moment to think it over and to try and remember just exactly they had said before. It was all so quick being said that he had trouble keeping up. History and tactics were never his strong suit. Waffle was 100% a run up and punch in the face kid.

"Aw, hell, what do I know, ya'll might have already mentioned it. I'll fight tooth and nail, man. I'll fight as much as I need to to make sure we win or atleast make some sort of difference."

His eyes wandered over to the man who seemed to be freaking the hell out and he just seemed like the biggest baby of them all. Like holy hell did it seem like he was losing his mother flippin' mind! Waffle just took a step back, shaking his head. It was the first time he actually saw just how scary the war could be on this side.

It seemed more and more he had no right to try to calm things down. His family gave into the Negaverse and that allowed for him to be raised peace. He knew nothing of loss or the pain that showered all over this camp.

"Crap, man, if you were so tired of it all, why did you keep tryin'? It just seems so stupid and pointless. But whatever, I guess you can do what you need to do. What do I know, I've probably only been part of this for a month. Ya'll all have suffered so much more than what I can complain about, so if you want to fight, i'm down for it, just say the word."

Tsui had heard enough, really. She had been sitting, quietly, from her 'perch', listening to everything being said and keeping her patched eye pointed at the rest of the group. It might have been considered rude to them, but Tsui had no interest in learning names and faces now. There were voices she recognized, others she hadn't. Some old acquaintances, those not abducted or destroyed by the Negaverse, had gotten stronger in the past five years, which would have probably made Tsui jealous once upon a time. Now?

She found it hard to care.

The Eternal Senshi of Tigers listened in on everything, but cared little for what was being said. She didn't need anyone else spouting out words of inevitable death and destruction- she had seen enough of that, hadn't she?

Her sister was killed. Her girlfriend was stolen from her, forced corrupted before her very eyes and had stalked her endlessly. Old comrades, ones she cherished and looked up to... dead, or puppets of the Negaverse. Who knew the fate of the rest of her family?

For Tsui, what was left to care about? The idea of retreating, though... no matter how marred she was, no matter how scarred, and hopelessly hopeless she felt, she knew that there was no where to run. Not anymore. Where did Castor, or anyone, think they could hide? Even if they retreated to their home worlds, most held no life. Die fighting a hopeless battle, or die a slow, agonizing death completely alone and feeling just as empty as she did now?

For Tsui, there was only one option.

"Just point me in the right direction and I'll see how many officers I can take down with me." She said aloud, finally shifting her head in their general direction, before looking away again. "My claws are still sharp and my teeth are primed."

If he were to be completely honest, he wasn't at all thrilled that a meeting had been called. It meant something was about to happen, and usually something serious. He could almost feel how much loss they would suffer again after whatever plans made came to fruition, and the steps he took toward the meeting place were heavy. Too heavy, in fact, that he even hesitated entering the headquarters for a moment.. but in the end he stepped inside and took his place among the White Moon that had gathered.

Ashur kept to the outskirts of the group; standing in the back with his arms crossed and leaning against a beam, that was how he usually was when he attended such meetings. One by one his comrades spoke up about it finally being the time for action, to "end" the reign of Chaos. When it became clear that there seemed to be two sides -- those who would fight and those who would run -- he receded into his own thoughts. Pondered what he had at stake, what he could lose and who he would leave behind should the worst happen. In the end all he succeeded in doing was guilt-tripping himself about actually wanting to fight.

All the effort, all the loss thus far. It felt like everything thus far had all been done in vain if they ran now...

So he made his decision in silence, at least for the time being. His own thoughts were being said by others anyway, and when time came and the troops gathered he'd be among those willing to take their last stand on the side of Order. He could make considerations as they came, but for now he opened his eyes and listened to the discussion play out, already planning the conversation he'd inevitably be having with the key people in his life...

Brooding broody brooder, though if anyone wants to poke at Ashur for whatever reason please feel free.
