Cassandra paused to look at Iris. She listened, and then slowly, her gaze shifted to the floor just in front of her as she thought. The woman was trying to piece together what she had heard of the universe beyond and the reality she knew in her own.

After a moment, she lifted her eyes back to Iris with a frown. "What would cause such a catastrophic occurrence, that Earth remains the last planet of life in the solar system?"

"Lots of wars," Zia shrugged. "What was only a cold war and a severance of ties for us, from what I can tell, was a large war between the kingdoms in their world. There's a chaos driven faction called the Negaverse which probably causes more senshi to awaken as necessary to counter the infection. This is probably why knights exist here, since there is a greater need for an army versus the Black Earth where the Court provided suitable protection and the skirmishes with Chaos didn't seem to compare to our-- your--... Your political dealings with each other. Here the moon and the earth are both threatened by outside forces, so they are not in opposition," She offered her own explanation, giving half a gesture to Kairatos as if he were a representation of White Earth in spite of being a Mars Knight.

She ignored everyone's talk about Ares, quite deliberately.

Cassandra took in the new information with a ponderous silence. Thraen received the first answer, since it was the easiest. "I do not know where it is. It was ripped away from my sight when Alexandros and the dreamers were pulled from Tartaros."

"The coma epidemic in 2010, when the city went under quarantine for the sleeping sickness," Zia interrupted to clarify.

"I do not sense it, although that may in part be because the barrier is still progressively thinning. The Pyrite crystal is a greater crystal, divine power of the cosmos. It could potentially bring great destruction, for its power is in oblivion. Its location would be of great interest to me. But another matter," She shifted her shoulders and cleared her throat, mentally examining the information she was given before she formed her next question. "The 'Dark Mirror Court'... Parasitic souls? You sound like you're crudely describing the way our universe crosses in to yours. Although I would hardly call the pilgrims parasites. I believe every host was more or less asked politely to carry their starseeds safely."

She looked to Zia. "I would... I would be interested to know how my brother met his end, please."

Zia seemed equally uncomfortably, running her tongue through her dry mouth along grit teeth. She appeared grim, and finally answered in what she considered only half a lie, "He died in his sleep."

Things were already tense. There was no need to reveal Nehelenia had smothered him to bring relief to the coma epidemic.

"Corrupted souls, supposedly from our cauldron. When baptized through the Black Mir-- Or what I thought was... they absorb a soul from out universe to replace the old one. Ares has attempted to rebuild the Black Moon court in this way."

Cassandra raised on eyebrow, and without warning broke out into a haughty laugh. "That's absurd."

"They have-- I mean. They're crude, inexperienced versions, but they have our magic! No one else on this side of the mirror can use mirrors like we do! I can sense them! They've taken over and corrupted mirrorspace!" Frustration was evident in Zia's voice. It wasn't like she could bring one here and show her. "White Moon hosts, they corrupt and become like Ares and Gaia. They... I mean..."

"Cat. Or human girl masquerading as the cat, I don't care which," Cassandra gave a flippant wave at the address and continued. "Absolutely no souls have left this universe since Zirconia's. She was the last traveler, and no one has gone missing. Not even from the cauldron."

"But--!"

"I might not be a monarch over a great kingdom, but I tend to the expanse of dreams and nightmares in my realm. I am as attuned to this universe as any other cosmic power. If someone were stealing souls, surely I would have felt it. And beyond that, I most certainly would have felt anyone crossing the barrier to do so. Even here, in this small space where the barrier has thinned so slightly, I could feel the disturbance from across the palace. Absolutely no one from the outside has disturbed us since you left."

Zia's shoulders sunk, and she looked bewildered and confused. She knew better than to challenge Cassandra's knowledge of such things. She knew it was true, but that was further confusion. Confusion that had started as she tried to reason out the Black Mirror in mirrorspace and the presence of this one. Twins, but how could that be? There was only one. Helen's.

"But... they have our magic... And mirrorspcae--"

"I have no idea what this mirrorspace you keep bringing up is," Cassanda interrupted, staring at the stumbling Mauvian with her own measure of confusion.

Zia's hands moved to her head. Much in the same way she knew the mirror would be here-- or knew after she landed on the moon-- like she had unlocked pre-programmed information that was only there once she took the appropriate steps, information on mirrorspace invaded her thoughts. It was the space between mirrors. They always knew that. Cassandra would know that.

"You're not funny," She eventually whimpered through her migraine.

Cassandra stared for a moment, not certain if she wanted to show concern or belittle the Mauvian further. She settled on glancing away. "I want to speak to Zirconia, now, please."

"Zirconia's dormant, she has been for like a year."

"...What purpose, human, did you have to open this portal, then?" Cassandra glanced her way once more. "If your binding soul has gone silent, what benefit could you possibly have for interrupting us here as we try to pick up the pieces of our lives your queen and her suicide mission left in her wake?"

"To send Zirconia home! I mean... isn't that... Isn't that right? She can go home," Zia made small, subconscious gestures over her chest where she knew the dual starseeds sat, and pathetically struggled to articulate what was asked of her. "And I can go back to normal. And... I mean, isn't that...?"

She looked down at her empty hands and open palms, and up to Cassandra. Her ears folded back against her head and her pulse jacked a bit, feeling suddenly afraid and futile. "Please! Please open the gate..."

Cassandra would not look at her, and remained silent, leaving Zia standing there in wondering nervousness without an answer. "Please?"

There was quite little that the yellow adorned Princess could contribute to the conversation for a period. Rather than remain idle, she moved closer to Zia's new location while still attempting to casually gather the information she could. Some of the information truly was going over her head, but the mentions of the coma epidemic did manage to catch her interest.

So the whole ordeal had something to do with the Pyrite Crystal?

Iris might have held onto the power of a crystal, but it was by no means considered a greater crystal. Those were rare and fleeting, usually being the sort of power which legends spoke of.

She could not dwell very long upon the subject as the conversation grew more tense between Zia and the Priestess. Iris' face remained neutral as she listened, but one sentiment seemed to hit home with her.

"She can go home, and I can go back to normal."

Gold eyes fell upon the cat on her own shoulder. That's right. Zia is not naturally a Mauvian.

Blinking before turning back to Zia, the Princess stepped forward, placing a hand gently to the Mauvian's back. Running the hand up Zia's shoulder, Iris offered a faint hint of a smile.

"...I would venture to say it is not within her power at the moment..."

Dulling out her smile to something more dutiful, she looked back to the Priestess once more.

"Would I be incorrect in thinking that the Pyrite Crystal is a key component to all of this?"

Pyrite crystal huh? He didn't remember hearing about that one, so it had either been before his time, 'above his clearense' or... well... any number of options. But the idea that the current DMC weren't at all what they called themselves?

That really begged the question of what the hell that shimmering mirror coat was.

He was also begging the question on how long Iris could act so...

...Well...

It wasn't the her he was familiar with, and it sounded strange and somewhat insincere, when you were used to the girl who didn't seem to have the patience for anyone. Not something to call her on now though.

"Venture..." He snorted, under his breath.

"Can you not open it, Or do you have a reason not to do so?"

He wasn't sure what the actual structure was, but he thought he remembered ZIrconia's title being fairly flashy, and he wondered where it stacked up against 'Priestess'? Was it less a case of 'Can't' (or maybe only partially a case) and more a case of not wanting to loose her current power.

If there was one advantage to having a history with the Negaverse it was one that taught you a lot about people who could smile just as sweetly as this strange version of Iris, and lie to you while they sharpened their knives. He might be wrong but he sort of suspected a touch of... ambition... was involved, in spite of her lost brothers.

Were they brothers or "brothers" anyway?

'The moon and the earth are both threatened by outside forces, so they are not in opposition'....So the Black Earth and Black Moon were mostly alone in habitation and also at opposition to each other? Are or were? All the more curious if they were, that 'phoning home' for extra dimensional cats should reach a mirror on the Black Earth then? How comes that so? But it was difficult to gauge if anyone else was concerned or surprised on that specific point.

The information on the 'greater crystal', whatever that specific designation meant in the larger scale of things, was welcome. It was at least something that sounded more hopeful in theory of usefulness if they could locate it for helping the Zirconia soul go home and maybe ending the Dark Mirror court of ....whatever growing menace the explanation also threw into his own gut. There's no immediate answer to that question though. If the souls don't come from that universe, which was Zirconia's idea, then we're back to square one for exactly what IS going on with those starseeds. And if she can't 'feel' the crystal because of the barrier, its as much an answer that yes, it is on this side somewhere. Unless destroyed or gone on to some further universe. Cosmic destruction on large scale seems over-blowing any single thing anymore, considering the crystals of other royals failings. Maybe I'm just jaded of the strength of anything not Chaos.

Following the conversation further had further oddities. Why would someone through the mirror not have a conception of what 'mirrorspace' was, specifically if it was intrinsic to the world and part of the histories of their enemies or allies of the Black Moon? Is this the actual Black Earth we speak to, or a construction of some other magic? There's lies somewhere, or misunderstandings...but something isn't right either in Cassandra, in this mirror, or in Zirconia. Well, the last one for certain since we started this. But who wouldn't be a little mad.

Iris' then weird tenderness towards someone she'd not twenty minutes before been treating a pissant was more surreal lighting on the problem. He didn't trust the weird softening of her manner compared to every other instance he'd seen her, even if it was something Zia could need in the moment. But Iris and Kairatos had given questions already, so Thraen held his peace on any of the subject angles he considered himself and waited for the outplay from Zirconia and Cassandra both.

"Bulls**t it's not in her power!" Zia nearly snapped back at Iris' small gesture and pulled away, but the expression on her face was that of a cornered and confused animal with feverish eyes looking for some hope of survival to grasp to. Her voice cracked into desperation as she shook her head insistently at Iris and then looked to the priestess who was avoiding her gaze.

"You can bridge us with Tartaros. Open up the dream world. I know you can. Your brother did it with the crystal, but it's your ******** realm!" She stopped herself and harshly bit down on her lower lip when she realized her voice had edged into a shouting volume. But tears were welling, her breath quickened and pulse raced. This couldn't all be for nothing. Years and years of risks and sacrifices and gambits and lies for no relief from the condition of invasion and mental duality. How could stories end that way? Where she had given up hope and fallen into quiet acceptance of her fate to have this breakthrough of universes and lifetimes dropped on her, only to be flat out denied once she had completed her task?

Cassandra was silent and still as stone in contrast to Zia's despair. When she moved, it was to subtly raise her head a bit before speaking. "You called it the coma epidemic of 2010..."

"What?"

"When... all of those souls from the White Moon were trapped in Tartaros... There were quite a few. The kindness of not suffering oblivion by the Pyrite crystal at my brother's will. What happened when they left my sight? I presume that's when he... you said he died in his sleep..."

"Oh..." Zia deflated all over again. She very badly did not want to talk about the way Tartaros ended. "Yeah. He died. The kickback from his crystal took Helen from me, and then people started waking up. I mean, not all of them but most of them..."

"I see," Cassandra said, heaving a sigh. She right her stance so she wasn't appearing to recoil so much, doing her best to stand tall. "It is within my power," She answered Kairatos harshly. "I could indeed ferry passage into Tartaros and converge with you, filling the gap left by the barrier. This mirror in our sanctum was a gift for my brother, from the Moon Queen who stole his heart and doomed him. I would presume its full potential will always be lost to us with her dead, but I have my own power. However..."

Her expression took on a flavor of outright bitterness as she focused on Zia. "There are two great crystals, the one of the earth's kingdom and the moon. I assume you have lost track of the Marcasite crystal, and from what you've told me, my brother's crystal was destroyed when he was. Because we have suffered such a devastating loss of both earth's heir and it's beacon of power, I think it would be ill advised to expend my own power on the likes of this," Her words dripped with a new element of disgust as she made a sweeping gesture to the entire opening.

Kairatos received his second accusing point of the evening. "You yourself admitted to being awakened into Chaos, and you, Mauvian," Although this Mauvian in question was *********, "Speak of Chaos born beasts and organizations. This asteroid princess has said that the universe's many worlds have died off leaving only one planet in all of the solar system sustaining life. On top of that, whoever you are who houses Zirconia," She lowed her hand and settled for scowling at Zia, not bothering to hide the hatred, "Have brought news of despicable acts of your court senshi, senshi who were yours to guide. The Chaos of this world has corrupted Sailor Gaia, Earth's own senshi and my distant cousin, and the viciousness has devoured my brothers. I would not bridge the gap, for I would not waste precious magic to expose my divine realm to the corrupted hell this universe has rotted to. It is bad enough the travelers who dared to venture there suffered such horrible fates. You, cat, if you're still in there somewhere, deserve your confinement to such a wasteland where evil roams so prevalently. I wish nothing more than to allow you to wander this purgatory you have found yourself alone in for the rest of your very long years. Please excuse me as I take my leave; I must tell my ailing father the moon has truly taken his sons from him."

With a sweeping wave of her arm, the mirror went dark, and then returned to its normal, reflective surface, leaving them in silence.

Silence that was cut through by a sudden and heavily grief stricken wail from Zia, who rushed to the object to try to touch her hand to it and open it again. And again, and again and the most she achieved with all of the effort and magic she forced forth was the occasional, glimmer of a ripple. The struggle felt like trying to force a door open that someone much stronger was holding shut, but her frenzied actions rendered no results as she murmured constant, whispered pleas.

It wasn't long until she was out of energy to perform such magical tasks and she sunk to her knees, still giving the glass one last pound with her fist while she screeched, "Cassandra! ******** you!" Because it was all she could do not to cry at being shut out.

Fingertips still on the glass as she stayed on her knees and rested her forehead tiredly against it, the feline ears on her head raised just a twitch as she tried in her heavy need to think of some plan, some contingency. The barrier had thinned. That couldn't have been for nothing.

Though Zia lashed out against Iris' gestures, the princess did not seem to startle or show any sort of hurt expression. Injured animals couldn't be held liable for their actions in such a trapping situation. The blonde woman did not shift from her position as things got progressively louder.

The little furry lump upon the princess' shoulder puffed up slight and her ears pinned back.

As the accusations began to fly (yet again), Iris lowered her gaze, bending her upper body slightly in a respectful gesture to the Priestess. In a sense, Cassandra was correct in her assessment. This dimension was indeed an absolute mess. Chaos now inflicting those claimed by the Negaverse and fellow Senshi under the guise of the Dark Mirror, and the extinction of many worlds were solid facts against this dimension.

There was no room to retort, as the connection seemed to get closed from the Priestess' end. Perhaps it was for the best rather than to continue arguing pointlessly over hypothetical scenarios. The woman straightened herself up, watching as Zia attempted to reconnect with Cassandra in vain.

Rather than attempt her gestures again, the woman once more scooped up the tailless Mauvian, though this time she lifted her up to set her gently on the ground.

It was merely instinct which caused the manx to scamper over to Zia's side, attempting to rub up against the dark cloth of her dress. It would probably have her pale fur show on it as a few stray hairs stuck to it.

In a gentle tone, the true Mauvian coaxed "...I know it seems... difficult at best... but... at least we have a starting place now... right? It might take some work... but we can figure this out..."

********* might not have been able to contribute much, but she could at least offer an optimistic outlook and a helping paw.

Iris still remained silent, but she looked at the mirror itself critically. Cassandra was now gone, and her wings seemed to finally relax enough into folding up against her back in a more restful position.

So... this greater crystal, the Pyrite crystal...it has been destroyed... lost?

It was another loss for Order that they had not even known was a loss until now.

Turning to the men in the room, the princess asked "...so... now where do we go from here?"

"Well that was... FUN." Kairatos rolled his eyes sarcastically as things closed up. He was not well versed in the Parallel universe, since Zia didn't talk much about it, and found the difference between "Moon" and "Earth" to be a pointless difference without further detailing. Just an excuse, as far as he could tell, for Cassandra to pretend her home universe had nothing to do with their Moon Queen and their (as far as he could tell entirely worthless cavaliers) popping in, and then wreaking havoc of both the well intentioned and... not... well intentioned variety.

"So basically 'sorry we sent you a care package that was actually a time bomb but it's really your fault for signing for it'?" He noted to Zia.

"What the hell do we do now?" Some crystal destroyed, some...other one missing like the surviving Cavaliers. Mighty warriors clearly, if they'd all ******** off when things turned sour. He wasn't even aware there had been one from their own dimension, but he didn't think much of them either, if Knights had stepped in to take their place.

Another disapproved romance hinted at between a man of Earth and a woman of the Moon. The Will of the Universe has a sick sense of humor. Or is very, very uncreative.

" Freedom is something to work for. Freedom for Zia- though if the only other outlet is into that Black Moon's room, I don't imagine Zirconia's soul will find hale welcome. " If that is what this was all about, Zia? You were looking to be free? Should those with the least information about all these matters really be the ones spit-balling what move comes next? Well. Maybe. Zia's in a wreck at the moment. A fresh perspective- what can you see, if you were Walsingham and adviser. There was little point in asking her the direct question just yet at the height of her despair.

"They may be variables we don't have knowledge of, but right now, if an effort was going to be made to send the last pure soul back home there is the other mirror in the throne room of the Dark Mirror Court, the one Zirconia said Ares and Leto were awakening new mirror souls with. Regardless of....whatever those things are, since it is not actual mirror souls if we assume that Cassandra is a reliable source of information. This mirror here opened to one on the Black Earth...is there no door or person to answer on the Black Moon at a mirror in their Throne? No other relatives of Helen to have talked to? If Zirconia is from the Black Moon, that would be a better place to turn this to if it were possible. There's the Pyrite crystal. Cassandra said she couldn't feel it at all, is her certainty of its destruction on the death of her..."

"Brother...based on some other presumed mechanic of magic surrounding 'greater crystals'. Or royal crystals more generally? Iris, as the only royal I've spoken to you have the best chance of answering that quandary. Would your crystal destroy on your decease? Or does anyone know closer how the man died- 'The kickback from his crystal'....knowing what that means would help some. Was something done to the crystal actively to destroy it? Even if it is 'destroyed', would there be fragments behind to make use of in study or in creation of some lesser thing that might be enough to open the door one way for even an hour? "

"We live in a world of magic, fortunate or unfortunate, meaning that the rules governing our world seem largely mutable. Where there's a will, there's probably a way with the right tools. There's also the Marcasite Crystal still unaccounted for- lost? destroyed? If this Helen is dead, it does not seem to have followed her as a 'greater' crystal having been destroyed as well. "

"There's also this connection through Tartaros that was being lobbied for- a different door. What is the mirror to that on this side? Myths we have would give the impression that some analog called Asphodel or Elysium or some other Hades realm. If Tartaros has a priestess, then there must be a priestess or priest of some analog here. Can that be found, or used for a different door? From the sound of Cassandra, the Black Earth is no friendly place to Zirconia and now no friendlier to any of this universe. That blame was blanket. " If mirrors are perfect reflections and all to the point of doomed romances existing. Unless such a person hasn't been awakened yet. As much a chance of that as anything else, since there's major planetary bodies missing Senshi as it is this side. A Sailor Earth to match this Gaia very prime amid that if his or her world is the last with life and under siege.

Zia, exhausted from magical output, powered down and rolled over to sit upright and lean the back of her head against the mirror. ********* offered comfort was taken by scooping the manx up and holding her firmly, one hand stroking the fur on her back.

She looked upset and dazed, even as she glanced up at Kairatos for his comment about the 'care package'.

"She's blaming me. I was supposed to find some way home. That's the entire reason Zirconia was brought over. In case Alexandros and Nehelenia didn't make it out of the epidemic alive. And I didn't help anyone. I should've known better. I didn't bring anyone home but Zirconia, who failed in every way."

What do we do now? needed some more thought. Instead of answering she just sort of buried her face in ********* fur.

Until she turned a much more guilty look to Thraen. "I didn't want to say when the mirror was open, but the crystal was trying to protect itself. I think it retaliated on the holder's death because, well one it was dangerous, and two because Alexandros was... kind of... Nehelenia smothered him in his hospital bed to end the comas."

She cleared her throat. "It was a necessary action. Everyone who was trapped would have died. But Helen, and everyone around Alexandros' bed died as a result of the crystal's destruction. Cassandra, though, I don't imagine... reacting well to it. Nehelenia and Alexandros were the peaceable tie that held the connections. Before that it was cold war and embargoes. A lot of the hostility and distrust is still there, I think. Zirconia has a lot of problems with Black Earth and White Earth. And the queen killing the prince would go over... badly would be an understatement, I guess."

She turned her head to the side, staring at the mirror's frame out of the corner of her eye.

"Helen's the senshi of mirrors. And not like, as in shiny reflective surfaces. As in portals. Only her mirrors can cross universes. I'm not sure if there's another one on the other side to resonate with, or if Cassie's going to get over her tantrum..."

Her eyeline moved up to the top of the frame.

"I don't know what happened the the Marcasite crystal. I guess because there's no cauldron here to take us I was assuming when we-- people with foreign souls-- died we'd just... or our starseeds at least, would just turn to stardust."

She looked forward at the floor, still seeming half dazed.

"I think no matter what, we gotta get this thing back to Earth," She finally concluded wit ha nod and set ********* down before standing up and grabbing the side of the mirror to look behind it and see if it was mounted to anything.

"Help me out!"

The manx cat was excellent for all petting needs. Her green eyes looked up to Zia (at least as best as she could from this angle), trying to take in any other information that had been withheld prior. She remained silent, but thoughtful.

It was probably her best interest to not explain the full details for Alexandros' death. It may have been necessary, but it still is not easy news to receive.

Iris' wings ruffled a bit at the question Thraen directed to her. It wasn't an easy question to answer. Even after all this time and multiple uses of her crystal, it still was not something she understood perfectly.

"...I do not know how the mechanics work for a Greater Crystal..." She flicked her fingers in front of her, as if she to open up her hand and reveal her own crystal for all to see. However, when she opened her hand, her palm was empty.

As she gazed at the empty spot within her hand, she continued her explanation. "However... it isn't a matter of the crystal destroying itself upon my death. I suspect in my case, it would be more of an issue of the crystal becoming inaccessible."

Closing up her hand, she glanced to Thraen, expression serious as she momentarily debated how to phrase the next part. Once she seemed to have an explanation, she spoke again. "My crystal is not tangible most times... it is hidden in a different sort of subspace pocket than the usual henshin pens and phones. Only I can access it. Without this Iris-shaped key, the crystal would remain locked in that subspace pocket."

Her gaze shifted to Zia as she continued. "Based off your explanation, the greater crystals may have more of a defense mechanism to them when it comes to their handler's demise."

Her eyes once more flickered towards the mirror they had just been communicating through. "There are many things I do not know... I am just guessing at this point..."

The cat was let down, and Zia announced her intents. The chubby manx trotted towards the girl's ankles, weaving about them inquisitively.

The princess gave Zia a look akin to something like the Senshi had done earlier as she announced her intentions with the mirror.

"...I do not think it is wise, considering this room was sealed off. I am certain it was sealed off for a reason." Her reasons might have been simple, but at least it was to the point.

"So it goes into a new sealed room where we can keep an eye on it without waiting for the right moon phase, because who the hell wants to have someone pop up here and find out Cassie was full of s**t and left us a whole new surprise?"

For all he cared they could lock it in an expensive vault or something somewhere, somewhere that an unsuspecting senshi who wasn't aware of this little conversation couldn't walk into an trap, since after that conversation, there was very little suggesting they could really treat the Black Earth as allies, when they, and Zirconia, made a nice convenient little target to hang the blame on for everything that had gone wrong.

"Wouldn't we have... you know... noticed something if the crystal actually self destructed?" Did crystals reform to meet their new rulers? Or did they just... hang out and wait? Somehow it seemed like something that powerful destroying itself would have shaken things up... I mean I guess it could have gone into subspace first but even then..."

Wouldn't it be sort of like putting a box over a firecracker?

Anyway he'd feel better knowing that, in a pinch, they could throw a brick at the damn thing, without waiting on planetary alignment.

Were there time and willingness, this would be where I would ask for all our benefit if we could experiment with Iris crystal to learn more about it, whether with me or finding one of her teammates. Probably her teammates. I don't expect there's that much good blood between us. Well, that sort of thing would take a lot of trust, and is a different focus subject. "Iris, if you ever have the time or inclination, it would help in general knowledge about the royal's crystals if you could run some tests with your teammates - can one of them hold it with you and without you powered up. Can they wield its magic. Things of that sort. Then relay the information to Ash or Kallichore for possible addition to the Primer. Or maybe Start a second document for more advanced knowledge since Primer's are supposed to cover basics."

He tried to put some scenario together of Iris' information and how the missing crystals may have ended out," If he was asleep in a hospital bed, it doesn't seem likely that he would have had his crystal out of its personal subspace? Or did he? I suppose that information would need if you knew or had been in the room before the explosion to have seen it. Unless someone else of 'those around him' had been able to access it for him. And the Marcasite crystal... was it with Nehelenia in hers at the time? If it was, its likely not to be accessible."

And Kairatos has a good point that it strange something of that power only destroying a room with no wider sensed feedback. I expect the answer would be 'because magic' if it was so.

Until such time as she's reborn, if she's reborn, or someone finds or invents and item that remove accesses subspace- He was distracted with cosmic surety of the Catception of a cat-girl holding a talking cat and petting it for comfort, leaving him paused in speech and motion for a long count of seconds.

One senshi in all the two or multiuniverses with a magic that has no other purpose than portal-ing across them? That sounds either dubious or pointing to some other ends I can't see the whole of. It seems like there should be some other senshi then, who's whole purpose was closing portals to keep them and their doors shut where they aren't wanted. That assumes a not wantedness. Or that there is or was only ever hostility. "Things usually evolve for a benefit- what was the hope of the cosmos for interdimensional travel..."

The inquiry was not addressed to anyone, just thrown to the air like the Cosmos itself or God was going to answer. Or many gods. Thraen didn't expect an answer, though, no more than he believed in any greater power(s) anymore. Usually rebirth cycles were tied in reasoning to a creation mythos, but with no proof of 'Will' had proven presence in what he'd come across. "What are the mirrored crystals here? To the Pyrite and the Marcasite- they had twins here like everything else it could be reasoned? Can we find those? If their power is so cosmically significant, or infinite, than they could have the power needed to separate souls and send another to its proper home."

The Lobby to move the Mirror was unexplained- like Zirconia was expecting any of them to just take her at her word now. "With hostility from the end that can open and close it at a whim, bringing it to the last bastion of live in all the galaxy sounds dubious. It would be easier to study, since it wouldn't require contacting a senshi, and would allow more than three days. "

"There is more certainty that none of the Dark Mirror can access it here than Earth. " A point of magical experimentation that could reveal something or go really horribly awry and proof all the misgivings Cassandra implied about this side of the Mirror. "Why, exactly, do you want to remove it? You can't suggest things and not give reasons."

True reasons. But verbally adding that had no point or purpose but causing derision. As pointless as bothering with letting emotions make decisions. He was, ultimately, there to try to help Zirconia.

"And what if it decides to re-seal itself?" Zia countered Iris' apprehensions, and then pointed a flailing arm in Kairatos' vague direction at his comment about putting it in a new sealed room where they didn't have to wait on moon phases.

"What he said."

She was working at moving the heavy thing out of it's place without risking tipping it over or damaging it further.

"We did notice something. Or you would have if you were in the hospital room. People died, and other people were restored to their bodies. It was a huge, big deal."

She took a break to flop down and lean against it, panting to catch her breath from the physical effort.

"I think the crystal was in Tartaros with him. The dream worlds, Tartaros and Elysion... they work weird. Like you're separate when you're asleep, the you here and the you in the dream, but then you come together when you wake up and all of the physical things you did on either side converse together. You can be holding it in the dream world and have it be just as real. You can be dead there and die here as well, too..." She exhaled a long sigh and suddenly frowned. "That's how Rota died in Elysion. A Nega killed her while she was dreaming.

"Speaking of Elysion... The Pyrite Crystal's twin is the Golden Crystal. It was there, but then I think it... vanished? With Helios? Who is the..."

Pointer fingers suddenly criss crossed each other and her face displayed sudden and surprised realization. "Oh! Well I suppose Helios and Cassandra are parallel analogs of each other. Tending to the nightmare realm of Tartaros and the dream realm of Elysion. And they both guard Earth's greater crystal in the absence of its prince. Either way, I haven't seen Helios or the crystal since then..." She looked to ********* as if the other guardian could confirm or deny this.

"Everyone seems to be like that. The planetary senshi in that world are..." She held up her fingers to count as she rambled off on story telling tangent time. "From the sun on out, Hermes, Aphrodite, Gaia, Ares, Zeus, Cronus, Ouranos, Poseidon, and Hades. Zirconia adored Hades."

She stretched her arms over her head with a groan. "Not sure about the Marcasite's twin. I feel like I should know it, but I'm drawing a blank. Whatever the moon's great crystal is."

She stood up to try moving the mirror away from the wall again. "I want to move it so I can keep an eye on it. Selene- Helen... is dead. There is no one to make mirrors with this rare quality any more and I can't get to the moon on my own. And like I said, if this hall was sealed, it might decide to reseal itself up. I need this. I need to work with it. It's my only lifeline."

She pulled away to angle her head up to look at it.

"Cassie might get over her tantrum. Or maybe I can get ahold of Ouranos... Either way, this is..." She rested a slow, reverent hand on the dead surface, briefly dazed and enthralled again as she stared at it.

"I just need it."

She looked over her shoulder at Kairatos. "We can stash it in the basement at home maybe, yeah? No one goes down there. and I'm pretty sure no piddly little Dark Mirror senshi is gonna use this thing. It's way more complex than normal mirror magic and those newbies can barely manage that without straining."

Iris said nothing towards Thraen's prying for more information on the Royal Crystals. Instead, she just looked at him. It wasn't her usual hardened gaze he was probably quite accustomed to. Instead, it was something softer, yet still reluctant.

However, upon Zia's question back to her, those eyes shifted towards the lilac haired girl. The Princess remained absolutely silent throughout the explanation of Tartaros and Elysion. The Pyrite Crystal and the Golden Crystal.

Taking note of the partial inquiry, the manx replied "I was not overly familiar with Helios prior to the battle in Elysion... but I personally have not encountered her since that battle. I have heard nothing of her or the Golden Crystal since then."

Soft words escaped the Princess, far softer than her usual speech. It was almost as if she didn't want anybody else to hear her utterance.

"...it is what legends are made of..."

The blonde turned away from the whole group, walking towards the entrance to the room. As she walked, her dress faded back to the familiar fuku she usually wore. She stopped at the opening. Without even turning back, she stated what was on her mind.

"If anything happens and I find out that damned mirror was the cause... I am after yer blood, Zia..."

"Iris!" the manx said in an indignant tone.

Still turned away, the blonde replied "Do what ya want... I'm outta 'ere..." With that, the eternal senshi exited.

"...In. the Basement?" Kairatos sounded a bit... unconvinced as to this particular choice adding. "I was thinking more along the lines of Fort Knox..." But if it was anyone's mirror, it was hard to argue it being anything but hers, and her place besides. And definitely no less weird than Iris change personalities sharply between delicate flower Iris and... well... 'normal' Iris.

He still wasn't pleased in general, but grumpy at least you could do something about, even if it was a cheerful little fantasy about throwing something.

"Great we need another feather duster looking for blood." He snapped, just to be prickly. He couldn't entirely blame Iris for her doubts, or Zia, or... well... anyone. But it didn't mean he had to pretend to be happy either. And 'anything' covered a lot of territory.

"...Fine. Basement. We can throw a blanket over it or something. And then chain the door."

He did not like Cassandra. He did not trust Cassandra. He did not like the idea they might need her, but it didn't seem like there was much to be done about that right now.
