Even if San had been actively trying to correct Amarus, she wouldn’t have listened. Amarus smiled as he called her little trick fascinating. She used to be ashamed of it. "I would not go so far as to call it that, but it is certainly useful," she admitted.

"I am often about, I will be glad of our next meeting," Amarus said, bowing in parting to San. She was enjoying this campaign.

Anna stumbled up to the next booth and looked around. There were snacks which after her last encounter with them she was wary to take snacks from any of the student booths, Then there was a game. Nervous she tried following the instructions.

She looked over at the booths owner.

She wasn't sure if she wasn't looking in the right place but she wasn't seeing any kind of pamphlet or shirt or anything that stated her purpose. "Your running right? What is your goal if you win?" Anna asked the girl confusedly.

Amarus didn't have pamphlets, it's true. She was hoping to engage in conversation with each and every student and guest who wandered by. Amarus lifted the metal domes, let the ballons fly, and watched with pleasure and amusement at the excellent score they received. "I am Amarus, Lotus Eater, and yes-- I am a candidate for Vice President."

She tilted her head, bells ringing. "Would you care for a snack?" she asked, sliding the plates forward. "Or perhaps a drink?" Amarus' skin glowed lightly, and her mirror-silver eyes reflected that light briefly as she thought of her answer.

"As vice president, I would hope to provide the resources to students to prepare them for the trials they will surely face-- we hardly have a network of counseling, and we need to have a lot more fun if we are ever to forget about those horrors which plague us-- I would like to ensure our student body, in other words, is given both the opportunity to 'party hard' and study equally hard," Amarus said. "My personal compass stays true to the purity of heart, mind, body and soul that one may achieve through rigourous training. I expect only the best for and of those I work with," she added.

"Why, is there anything in particular you are hoping to see realized? A passion that needs to be met?" Amarus asked.

Anna nodded that was fair. "So you want to start a sort of counseling system? Is it supposed to be to help the student's find their place after school?"

She bit her lip, That would be very helpful to someone who wasn't very good with accepting the things that would happen to her.

Hmmmm. She thought for a moment WAS there something she wanted?

"I'm not sure" she said quietly. "I WOULD like to learn more about Humans if that could be considered a passion?"

Amarus had been around for quite a while. In fact, she was around long enough to remember DETH and Defenders the controversy surrounding their campaigns. She had never cared for humans, and in fact thought of them as nothing more than sources of FEAR.

"I suppose, yes. We have an excellent peer support network, but it would be good if we had other outlets for those who have memories they cannot escape-- I have a natural tool at my disposal to ease the therapy and recovery process no matter what the activity. I believe that it could help," she said.

"Learning is considered a passion in and of itself, and thus a more precise subject is surely on par. I might, if I was to do some digging, find a way for you to communicate with the appropriate group, though I suspect they are not terribly active... I have met with simulations of the Hunters, once. I thought I had died. I thought I had become one of their weapons. It was not terribly pleasant. What about humans interests you? "

((Ignore dice))

Uru found himself wandering around the booths when the Student Council elections were announced and students were putting these stands up to garner attention. It was effective, he'd admit, but not many of the students got him to actually care about the student body like Frost did, Gabriel only got his attention because of the tug of the cold to the booth. Now he was standing at a ghoul's booth. Amarus's. Something pulled him here like the shadows were calling him. He found the sensation normal at this point, often contributing it to the Umbra half of himself. Even if he couldn't actually consider himself as such.

Amarus removes the three metal dishes to reveal three balloons. Unsurprisingly, this little game is another dart-throwing contest. In which case, he performs well, nailing the balloon. However, the score that it revealed was disheartening.

"2?" he muttered under his breath, almost a hiss. What mockery is this!?

Now there was a familiar face! Xiu had almost been starting to feel a little out of sorts upon finding that nearly everyone running this year was someone she was unacquainted with, but on that note, she was amazed to learn that Amarus was a third year now. Jack, to think that so much time had already passed since they had first met one another!

Lingering off to the side, she waited until her friend finished her current sentence to the other ghoul she was speaking to before sheepishly piping up. "I hate to cut in--"--ducking her head, Xiu offered both Amarus and Anna an apologetic smile before focusing her gaze on the former--"But I just wanted to say hi, Amarus! I'm so glad to see that you've decided to run this year!"

Shifting the bag of goods that she had dangling from her arm, the baku reached out to pull her friend into a hug. "And to think that you're a third year already! I feel so old now." As old as a small seventeen year old could feel, anyways.

Amarus was struck by the uncomfortable familiarity she felt with the approach of Uru. A dream from a dream, memories that Moon had stirred. Would she stand by Black Kingdom's side? Amarus forced the thoughts down. "Welcome," Amarus nodded, her bells ringing, as she lifted the metal covers off the balloons. It was not only skill, it was also luck: the balloon that Uru popped had only a score of two within it.

"It is proof that fairness is something we fight for, because it is not given to us," she suggested, with one of her wicked smiles, her mirror-silver eyes softening in amusement. "I am Amarus, Lotus Eater. If your mind or heart are troubled, you should consider taking a snack," she said, pushing the plates forward. She did so love to offer treats. "I am running for Vice President. I would, naturally, be an exceptional choice." She would summarize her campaign points, if prompted.

Amarus felt an entirely different sensation when Xiu arrived at her booth, however. "Xiu!" Amarus said, clearly excited to see her-- how much Amarus had changed, from awkwardly struggling to understand feelings and souls. Amarus happily accepted the hug, slipping her arms around Xiu and resting her head briefly against the ghoul's. Amarus laughed; it was not a haunted, cold sound anymore but rather a content one. "You will never look old, but it is true you remain my heart's mentor for as long as I exist-- Xiu, thank you truly and profoundly for shaping my origins at this place. I know that it was not entirely your ambition, but I was without direction, and baking gave me something to enjoy that was not punching other students in the face." Amarus smiled contentedly, like that had been really hard.

"Look, I still make cupcakes the way I did once, under your supervision for Baking Club," Amarus said. She gestured to the plate. "Yes, last year I was running but it was by and large a terrible joke. This year I have decided what better way to use my new found responsibility than to expand it? I have been a Resident Assistant for the Ghost Dormitories, and it has shown me how much I hope to channel my mischief." It was true: although she still got up to all sorts of trouble, on the outside Amarus was an upstanding ghost full of ambition.

"Ah, I do not mean to keep you-- I still have no eyePhone, but my messenger birds are always about-- I hope to see you again! Thank you for visiting me, Xiu. My booth is graced with your presence," Amarus added, with a bow.

Apparently she was going to be late in arriving to this particular part of the carnival as she had been with the first half. And it was all in the same location too, with the same booths as it turned out. Everything redecorated, taken over by students aiming for office - right there and yes, she now decided to turn up.

First was Amarus' booth, a ghoul who was rather familiar for many many reasons - the obvious seen her about campus, remembered her running last year, possible classes and well, alternate reality stuff and stuff that she couldn't still really place just yet. But, Maple, as usual, kept to herself and was quiet as she wandered over and looked at the ghouls' stance and platform and what-have-you. As well as the others present at the moment. Oh, wait, Uru?

Uru's head jerked up, his nose to the air as he sniffed. Ah, that smell. That smelly smell. That smell that smells. Ghoul. The demon turned and eyed the ghoul a bit a ways away before tucking his hands into his pocket, making his way toward her, giving her a slight wave in greeting. Maple was one of the few acquaintances he actually sought out if they were near. Otherwise, he'd quietly stand a bit away and watch creeple.

Amarus had, in fact, recycled this exact booth a total of three times. Where had she stored it? Who knew. She probably did, actually. In any case, its blue light heartbeat made being there somehow soothing, even for her. Another familiar face, right in a row-- it was weird for her to see so many ghosts of a memory wandering to her side just a the same time. This face, in fact, was familiar on more than one level. "Hello, shy ghoul," Amarus addressed Maple. She smiled, tilted her head, bells ringing.

"Are you thirsty? Hungry? Or would you care to play a game?"

The sudden thanks caught the ghoul off guard, but it was the words that followed that caused the baku's cheeks to gradually redden in color. For a moment, she seemed a little uncertain as to what to say, but then a warm smile found itself onto her face. "You've grown so, so much Amarus, and I think the one who should take the most credit for that is you. After all, you must have worked incredibly hard, but that being said, you know that I'll always be here for you in whatever way I can. Above all else, we're friends, right?"

Gaze sliding over to the plate of cupcakes then, Xiu's smile widened. "And I'm still amazed by your creations--they're absolutely gorgeous. Let me know if you want a part time job at my cafe once it's up and running." She gave the ghoul a playful wink.

Swelling with pride at how much more confident her friend seemed to be now, the baku returned the bow with one of her own. "And you're always welcome to contact me or drop by my new home anytime you'd like! Also," Rummaging through the bag she had, she withdrew a small, neatly tied up package of spookies, "It seems silly when you're such a talented baker yourself, but I wanted to show some support for those running this year." Offering it to Amarus, the baku took a step back to wave.

"Best of luck to you! I am sure that you'd make a wonderful Vice President, and I do hope to see you again soon!"

Anna pulled back nodding "No no it's quite alright! I... " She was reluctant to say she didn't know how she would answer that one. " Your obviously friends I don't mind if you step in."

She stepped back for a few moments to think of the other girls response. There was an appropriate group? For a while she had been reluctant to think about it because she was sure any learning would have to be on the side. Now she began to realize there may be others with a similar interest out there. And hunters??? What were Hunters? She made a mental note to ask someone when the subject arose again.

So it was, Maple gave the boil a small nervous looking smile as she meekly returned the wave. "H-hello, Uru'Baen." It was tempting to scoot towards him; him being someone she could regard as a friend almost and his tallness and strongness and all that. But she shook her head lightly, dismissing the idea because she needed to not be shy right now. Or at least get over all that. She was a Second Year, probably close to being a Third.

And besides, the hostess of the booth was talking to her. There was a small meep of surprise, "O-oh." Her hands went to playing with the hem of her cardigan, "y-your cupcakes l-look r-really n-nice," 'cause they did. (Wow, how many students baked here?)

"S-so..." Okay, maybe she'd try some conversation, "y-you ran l-last ... year... y-yes?" She was looking like a nervous tea deer right now.
