Bartholomew walked up to the dragon's, seeming mildly interested. In actuality, Bart was actually rather excited about the student council elections. If he was a fully enrolled in student he would most definitely be running himself but, due to some unfinished paperwork or something of that nature, Bart wasn't 'fully enrolled' and, thus, could not run nor vote. Regardless, it was definitely something that interested him. He loved politics. He also hoped to build some relations with the potential council members. He hoped that doing so would put him ahead of the game in running for office next year.
Bart gave the boil a good look over. He recognized him from the carnival, but before he hadn't majorly interacted with him. He figured now was the time.
Bart's first thought was that at least the boil could dress, and it was quite the plus for Bart. However, Bart knew there were far more important things than style. Although, not everyone could pull of wearing a dashing suit like the jackalope did, many could try- the dragon was not excluded from that possible pool of people.
Bart, upon seeing the game, smiled and obliged. He loved the little game, his eyes following easily, and he guessed correctly. Bart was even further impressed with the selection of minipets, as many of them suited Bart's fancy.
Even though Bart was rather impressed with the boil so far, he had yet to talk to him much. "You seem very knowledgeable, good sir. And I have no doubt you can do a good job of keeping up with the money. You are- after all- a dragon. However, do you have any ideas for school events or fund raisers? Or do you want to deal with that sort of thing at all?" It was a rather cheesy question, but Bart wanted to officiate some kind of conversation. "Also, do you happen to play chess at all?"

With a farewell nod at Amarus, and a very quiet, mumbled thank you, he turned to his new boothgoer, and wish he hadn't. Andrew was already starting trouble, in the form of heat around an iced booth, and Gabby turned up his own natural powers to keep things solid and cold.
"We do not take. We protect. I can't expect someone like you to know a thing about dragons, so I understand that you are ignorant of our ways, but please. Keep your negative comments to yourself."
Andrew was still angry at him for his antics at the boils booth, but that fact did not seem to deter Gabby from holding his head up high, and exhuding as much cold as possible in the boils direction in the hopes it would turn him away.
He gave Elliot a stiff nod and helped him with the game, trying to ignore Andrew's presence as much as he could. It was clear the boil was ruffled by Andrew's heated presence. There was only one thing that would calm him down.
And as if he'd heard his call, Efflo was there, pressing a kiss to his cheek. Gabby let out a relieved sigh, and reached out to try and pull Efflo into his arms, but when he reached for him the boil was already gone.
Gabby slumped with melancholy.
The next few games were played mechanically, as if he was only half there. Someone was asking him a question, and he snapped out of his reverie to attempt to answer it. "School events? I think our school events are fine the way they have been. Tradition is imperative for a strong school system. But for fundraisers, oh, I'm sure I can think of several. Your typical edible sales, outdoor events with games, really I feel the days of thinking up new ideas are over. My ideas are simple - stick with what we know."
He handed Bartholomew his minipet. "I do not play chess, or I should say I have not. Is it an interesting game?"

Andrew truly was out for revenge, and it was a petty little show. Gabby played the game silently, slamming the cup back over the diamond as he pointed it out. "It is, and you lost." He reminded Andrew quickly, hoping that to be the end of it.
But of course, it was not.
"You do not see how a dragon protects because you know nothing about dragons. You are speaking through ignorance that shows a lack of attention and intelligence - and I'm not going to explain to you again why you are wrong, because I am well aware that you are only here to cause trouble. That is your decision, and mine is to inform you that you're just making yourself look bad. After all, there are many dragons on this campus. I'm sure your bigotry towards their entire race with your false information would not win you any new friends today."
And Gabby could have left that conversation proud, if Andrew had only kept Efflo's name out of this.
"Efflo is handing out buttons and supporting me, because he believes in me. I see you are travelling alone for this event, what a pity. It looks like someone finally figured out you weren't worth her time. What a relief."

Bartholomew was plenty content with his answer. It seemed like he really had his ideas together. Bart also agreed that sticking with what worked was a very good way to go. After all, there was hardly ever a need to fix something that wasn't broken.
Despite the fact that the dragon had never played chess before, Bart was reasonably contented with his answer. It was bad that the dragon had never played chess before, however, he did show reasonable interest in it and that was definitely a good thing. "Really? You've never played? Chess is not a game that everyone will enjoy however, I believe it is a game that everyone should play at least once. I would be more than happy to show you how to play, if you would like." Bart was being genuinely nice, as the boil seemed like a reasonable sir, and Bart definitely saw it as possibly beneficial to make friends with him. He would definitely vote for him, if he could. Still, Bart snagged a pin off of the table. He then hooked it through one of the collar button holes in his suit jacket, where it was visible, but classy and didn't damage his oh-so-neat suit. Bart was aware that Gabby may have very well been manipulating him into doing such but, that made Bart only wish he could vote more. After all, a man who could manipulate probably had at least a slight idea of what to do with power.
