Tamiya sniffed. She would be right, of course. Larque was such a worrier. She immediately bristled upon his reference to the letter. So he had received it, too. Her confidence melted into anger. One of Tamiya’s dangerous tantrums could have been on the rise, and a string of capricious curse words filled the air.

“The note. Demons arrive in droves from the bloody pits of lightness, festering feathered monstrosities and mutated freaks!” She roared. She was unable to control herself and her volume increased rapidly. “There is a balance on Alternia, Larque and Etsali, a fine balance between capriciousness and heathen anarchy, that contains the spirits and subdues the horrorterrors from within the depths of the Alternian deeps! The words screaming from their carnal hate holes are nothing but cloying lies meant to wrench the innocents from their spot in the Carnival and scatter them along the path for traitors and the damned!!” Rage streamed through her body in rivulets, causing her fingers to shake and gnarl. Her voice dropped to a hissing whisper and her shaking became the result of nervous panic.

“Do not believe for a ******** moment that you any of us will be spared from their unnatural goddamn conquest. Alternia as we know it will be destroyed in a mirthless blaze. They will tear everything from hive to loonyblock down just the grubbing same, you will see…”

Kabukidad slinked up to Tamiya and rubbed against her, his skinfolds bunching up as he comforted her. It was a message to both of the trolls. Larque, she trusted. Etsali… She was still a wildcard. Her… Orangebloodedness cast some doubt on her fortitude and trustworthiness. It would make for an obstacle in their relationship. Tamiya’s method of making friends could also use some work, not that she would ever know or admit it.

Vitula stood there with his hands crossed and a slight pout on his face as he awaited the answer to a question he so desperately wanted to be answer. He looked back to the red blooded troll who he thought he saw move from the corner of his eye.

"Did he try to back away? or did he just trip a little?" Vitula thought. Parrot Pop then quickly bit down on his horn. This was usually Parrot Pops way of saying Vitula was doing something wrong or getting to carried away.

"Oh, I get it. I guess I did get carried away a little bit"
Vitula said putting his index figure up by his horn to let Parrot Pop stand on. "That was a bit to much." He said sighing. Parrot Pop was not done yet, he flew off of Vitulas finger and bit horn once more and began circling Ephias from above. This was Parrot Pops other way of saying apologize.

"Yes sir." Vitula said turning to Ephias. "Sorry about that, I can go off from time to time on stuff. It's just I was very excited to see the queen today, and I guess I just got a little . . . . alot carried away" Vitula said to Ephias.

"But what about you? Did you have any questions you wanted to ask? Or any you heard you found interesting?" Vitula said trying to not make the troll afraid of or worst not want to be around Vitula.

Iluard looked down at the yellowblood and cleared his throat. "The queen will not be making an appearance during this reconstruction period. If you have inquiries for Her Highness, you are welcome to schedule an appointment with her at the above-water embassy."

He felt that a brief and effective answer, and looked about for further questions. Nothing? Good! It was time to wrap up his Q&A session.

"Alright, attention! Attention," He announced into the mic. "Further questions can be answered on a personal basis. At this time, rooms will be assigned to recruits. Younger recruits, please sign up seperately for lusii housing. Please meet with the drones at the back table for your assignments. Additionally! There is a sign-up for the full-force construction phase that will occur after your training is completed sufficiently. If you have friends or colleagues that you would like to work with during this phase, you should sign up together so that your partnership will be guaranteed during this most important phase. Individual trolls are also welcome to post if they are looking for a group to join. Thank you for your attention, and glory to Alternia!"

Iluard clicked off the mic and took his leave.

((sign-ups for the next stage of the meta, which will run from August 17th through the 27th, are now up! A similar post will be made in the rebel thread as well soon; both rebels and royalists can sign up whenever they'd like.))

Larque was visibly taken aback at Tamiya's reaction to his question. All at once, the last few threads of his remaining anger quickly melted into fear, and he flinched as her voice rose. There were a lot of familiar words in her speech, terms she'd said before that he knew vaguely about, and her fervor sent a shiver down his spine. By the time she finished, the greenblood was all tensed up, wound tighter than a spring. As Kabukidad slimed up to rub on her, he clenched his jaw, and took a careful step away, hoping his lusus would be able to follow him soon. "Let's hope that we never have to, then, and forget I mentioned it..."

So much for seeking comfort from a friend. Her passion never failed to make him uneasy, and he glanced quickly over to the orangeblooded Etsali, wondering how a stranger would handle Tamiya's outburst. Despite her frightening descriptions, it was still better than being alone in such a mess, though, wasn't it? It wasn't as if Mantismom would be willing to flee the city anyway, as his first instinct had been to do. He was good and stuck, and he ought to have been happy for a friend at the top...

Larque was about to distract himself by looking around for his lusus, before the wimpy looking greenblood at the mic began to make another announcement. Once he had finished, Larque looked to Tamiya again with a grave but determined expression. "I will follow your lead, then. Let's see if we can prevent Alternia from being destroyed, and all that garbage."

      ∞ Ephias Sagine

Vitula's lusus seemed distrissed. After nipping at his charge's horn, he took to the air and began to encircle Ephias. What could that possibly mean? Suddenly, from out of nowhere, the yellowblood began to apologise. That was a surprise! Ephias stared at the other boy, his face expressionless—that is to say, at rest, which unfortunately looked closer to bored or annoyed.

“You don't need to a-apologise for something l-like that...” Ephias mumbled. “Everyone has stuff they get excited about.” He recalled his own outburst not even two minutes earlier. He could hardly blame Vitula for being enthusiastic about his interests.

When the yellowblood asked Ephias if he had any questions of his own, he shook his head. “Not-not really. I...” Ephias trailed off. From somewhere further off in the crowd there was roar. A high voice had risen to a shriek. As Ephias tried to parse out the words, the noise dwindled until it was (relatively) quiet again. He shrugged and continued a bit louder than before. “I mostly want to get the reconstruction done as q-quickly as possible. Someone did ask about the future of space exploration. The military representative gave a pretty vague answer, but it sounds like it might be a pos-possibility if we do well here.”

Speaking of the military representative, the greenblood had begun to speak again. He was announcing sign-ups for lusii housing as well teams for the construction phase. “Er... We should probably go check that out. If you want t-to come with me...” He looked back at Wolly. The sheep was already pushing his way through the crowd to make a path.

“Why are you so interested in the queen, anyway?”

Etsali mouthed their names to herself as Tamiya revealed them, glancing back and forth between the two trolls curiously as she did so. She wasn't entirely sure what a spiritual soul-brother entailed, but maybe it just meant he followed the same faith as the purpleblood did? Larque's face wasn't painted, though, no matter how scary it might have been at first, so she couldn't be sure at all. She didn't think she wanted to ask, though, because Tamiya was getting very into her response and interrupting seemed like a terrible, horrible idea.

It was pretty interesting to discover they both lived here in Old Hemisect, though! It also very much explained why Larque was upset about things being torn down, even though she'd thought that was why they were all here. He must have been worried for his hive, and she could definitely understand that. She'd be so upset if someone messed with hers and she and Keeper had to find somewhere new to move their hoards into! Sympathy for the state of other trolls' hoards was a mildly foreign concept, but for a brief moment she hoped Tamiya really could keep their hives from being messed with.

And then Larque brought up the note and those thoughts swirled off to the side in the wake of curiosity. Curiosity that immediately quailed in the face of concern and worry and a very definite dose of fear as Tamiya worked herself up into a furor. Etsali cringed back as the girl's voice rose, leaning into her lusus for support, and turned wide, imploring eyes towards Larque. Was this normal!? She wasn't sure whether it was good or bad that he looked just as uncomfortable.

As Tamiya's lusus comforted her and Larque pledged to follow her lead, Etsali glanced nervously between them and then pasted on a wide, queasy grin. Her mouth opened, but she faltered at first, snapping it closed another second or two before trying again. "All very important stuff! Keeping things from being destroyed and-and horrorterrors and-" She laughed uneasily. "So I think I should go make sure I'm signed up to help now! It was...It was interesting meeting you!" Fingers clinging to Keeper's fur, she turned to look for her way out and then made for a run for it.

I actually feel bad she's leaving so soon, but she got even more freaked out than I expected, haha. I hope they can bump into each other more as things go on!

Her little moirail's voice would have given her location away, if it wasn't for her huge lusus, that she was hiding under. Again with the paranoia! Eostre laughed. Classic redblood stuff."Of course not, sweet Tierte. The Queen needs your help too much to kill you. I'm glad you made it though. Seems you missed the speeches but... at least you aren't at the rebel camp," Eostre said with a sly grin. "They would run you to the ground before they killed you, of course."

She had to say those sorts of things to keep Tierte on her side. The feral redblood became much too hard to handle if she believed it was Eostre that was going to kill her, and began screaming or throwing a fit. It just wouldn't do to have a moirail like that, so it was all justified. Not that it mattered, because as a redblood no one cared what happened to her. It was a miracle she hadn't been culled already with her accusations of murder at every corner...

She paused (mostly for effect), but also because she heard the simpering greenblood officer mention sign ups for teams and groups for the construction. "Oh Tierte, you'll join me won't you? We can be a team again, like when we went to the desert."Eostre remembered how they fought that giant beast, and how she got to punch it... Hopefully they'd encounter the rebels and she'd get a chance to put the filthy traitors in their place. "You liked that, didn't you?" she said, her voice sweet as ever.

Okay, so the city might NOT have a stupid name. Cool! It'd also be nice if one of them could help since they were doing all the heavy loads. Tit for tat and all of that and-

Oh gog what was that noise. Something like a high-pitched squeal like some sort of siren. And it was getting closer. Luxara didn't even get an opportunity to turn around before she was, for all intents and purposes, glomped.

Somehow she didn't even go deaf, even with Forera's squealing right up against her.

"OOF-" She wobbled like a punch-me clown, already smiling as she recognized the voice finally. "FOR!" The greenblood stabilized in time to see Forera in full view when the tealblood child moved around. Luxara went in for a big bear hug herself. "It's been forever and a HALF! You got the letter too? That's so AWESOME. It looked like no one else was here at first! Have you seen Gan or Kur? Did, maybe? Then it'll be the whole crew!" Luxara was smiling so hard that her face hurt. That was a big effin' grin, to be sure.

She paused only long enough to hear about sign-ups. So it was one of THOSE. "Oh man. Oh MAN." Her eyes lit up with a GREAT idea. "You wanna sign up together? It would be so PERFECT!"

Perched atop a sour looking guinea pig was Nahori, having listened in something vaguely resembling awe for the entirety of the speech and the instructions that came later. It was obvious she was nervous with the way her body was lightly trembling, though that was hardly new for her. This night she found no comfort in troll-watching those around her, either, in fact she could barely pull herself away from guineamom's coarse fur long enough to attempt it. Earlier she had been making the most pathetic half-whimpers, perhaps trying not to cry, but a quick buck from mom had startled a loud squeak from her that quickly faded into the silence her lusus preferred.

They were here for the cause, those guineamom was usually a wary guardian, she simply couldn't turn her nose up at this royal call. Had Nahori been on her own, the orangeblood was certain she could have ignored it completely, this sort of thing didn't suit her at all. Spending the entire time hoping no one official looking tried to talk to her was probably not the best kind of behavior for a soldier. It was sad, while she loved to get away from the hive and see new places and learn new faces this was just too much. The royal army scared her, what if she got hurt, what if she never made it back to the hive again...

A shrill wheeking woke her from the little daze she had evidently fallen into. Mom was getting impatient, wanting her to sit up high and proud and straight. It took a might more annoyed coaxing, but eventually Nahori was stretched up to her full height—she was tall for a child—and peering out uncertainly over the crowds as many began to amble towards their training. Her arms were tucked protectively around her midsection.

Vitula listened to Ephias as he spoke to him. The young redblood and told him he did not have any questions he wanted to ask to the greenblood who was taking questions at the time. Vitula listened more and more to Ephias as he brought up about the reconstruction. He agreed about getting reconstruction done as quickly as possible, so that way when they did get done they may have time to do other things around the city.

It was at that moment Ephias had asked Vitula if he wanted to come with him to sign up for teams and lusii housing. Vitula looked at the red blood and shook his head in agreement and walked with the troll to the sign up table.

As they walked Vitula heard Ephias ask a question about why he was so interested in the queen anyway. Vitula took a deep breath and began to explain to him.

"Ever sense I had moved to Chittentown, I always knew I wanted to be more then what society saw me as. I understand that sense my blood isn't what most trolls see as royal I usually get over looked. I believe that if I can atleast meet the queen and have her notice me, then maybe other trolls will notice me all around alternia as well!" Vitula said looking up into the sky.

The news that she would be getting free food was met with a wide toothy grin, the teal blood feeling like she'd scored big. Food was expensive if you liked the higher end stuff, and a great deal of what she liked was aquatic- something that not a lot of trolls liked to do given how the royality was in well, the sea. Didn't want to cast a line and catch and kill some purple's lusus after all. Just a matter of self preservation and all. For antiqua, she just figured that hey, even if the free food was cheap it was still free and it would save her some beetles for later purchases. Small numbers eventually added up after all.

Cracking her neck as the green blood finished, she looked around, nothing the mix of trolls around. High and low, younger and older- it was a motley group for sure. There was old friends meeting up, talks of Lusus things, happenings in space, (she wondered briefly if maybe she should consider a life as a space pirate) and frankly none of that really interested her. She was more focused on the training and aspect that she might get a chance to show off how much a valuable member of troll society she was and thus how she totally have a boat and get permission to do pirating. On Alternia. Or space. She wasn't picky. As the hubbub died down she ran towards Seadad, eager to tell him of her plans and the news- she'd of course, would need materials. And her special nice hate for this. One couldn't go into anything sans a proper captain's hat. However she was leaving her found weapon at home- she didn't need it..right?
