Fool, Jake thought to himself as he hurried towards Aiden. Don't you remember last Saturday? Those ropes won't save you. Roman went to hook his arm over Aiden's right bicep and would attempt to lock his other arm around Covell's neck to lock-in an early crossface chicken wing. All it took was one successful attempt to end this match, and they both knew that. Now it was a matter of catching the smaller man off-guard once more.

With how he was crawling, there was no way Aiden could detect that Jake would go for a submission as he did. Shades of last match rang true in his head as he found himself with his throat having pressure applied to it and his breathing lessened. Jake had successfully trapped Aiden in his ever so clever crossface chicken wing sleeper. Now that he was in a fight to keep his breathing regulated and not delete anytime soon, Aiden frantically looked around to find the nearest rope or method he could use to escape.

Jake kept the hold applied, the fans and himself in a wild frenzy over the submission that seemingly came out of nowhere. Roman wrapped his legs around Aiden's waist and laid on his side so the diminishing Covell had to dig deeper for an escape. They were right next to the ropes, but no rope break would help Jake's opponent escape. The brash high-flyer had to come up with something innovative if he didn't want to submit and essentially quit his series. Trying to make him more uncomfortable, Jake yelled in his opponents ear as loud as he could. "TAAAAAAAPP! TAP THE F.UCK OUT!!"

Now, now it was becoming a bit of a struggle for Aiden to handle. At first, he had the idea that he could use his free arm to send elbow shots into Jake's side. That would have worked out great. However, Jake clearly did his homework. He wrapped his legs around Aiden and laid directly on the side of his body which Aiden could have taken advantage of. ********. Looking over, Aiden could see that they were right next to the ropes. He gripped onto it tightly, but there was no rope break. Son of a b***h. The match wasn't a Normal Falls match. That sly dog had it changed at the last second. Impressive. Trying to will himself into something creative, Aiden looked to grip ahold of the ropes and aim to pick himself up to a kneeling standpoint. At least if he were able to achieve that, he could stand.

Aiden was not the stronger man between the two. However, his will to get out of the trap he was in was admirable, even from his arch nemesis's point of view. That didn't earn him any favors though, as Roman fell back down to his side and kept the submission locked in, facing the ropes and yelling periodically to show how tight he was making the crossface chicken wing. This could be his early way out of a brutal Best-of-Five series.

Just when he thought he had a plan of attack, even that fell through. Aiden was legitimately without options and Jake wasn't letting up on the hold. If he tried to stand up at this point, Jake might break Aiden's back with his weight. if he tried to reach behind him, Jake might even grab his arm and do something worse wit the submission. Thus, Aiden was out of options. What was he going to do? Toss himself out of th- That's it! With only one real direction to take and no other options left, Aiden put all effort into moving his body closer to the ropes with help from his feet pushing against the mat. The closer he got, the closer he was to pushing himself over the edge of the apron and onto the ringside floor. It's all he could do. All he could do.

Jake hadn't thought of that. Of course, he never allowed himself to be on the receiving end of what he referred to as his move, but nobody had ever thought of breaking the hold by using gravity as a solace. The ropes had actually ended up choking Roman once he had tried to keep the hold applied, thus he had to release the submission. It was a damn shame, too. Jake wanted to make Aiden tap, and though there was always the potential of getting him to, it was unfortunate he couldn't make him tap right now. Roman held his throat, which had been hurt from the pressure of the bottom rope. Regardless, he rolled out of the ring and stood on the sand. Jake went behind Aiden and attempted a back suplex onto the apron to show off his own fancy moveset.

Thank god that worked. Aiden had caught a break by managing his way out of the ring and falling onto the ringside area. But at the same time, the damage had been done. Aiden was coughing and rubbing his neck with his right hand while rotating his left arm. Clearly sore due to the torque Jake put on it. For a minute, Aiden expected to be able to get some breathing room while Jake himself would do the same. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Jake had exited the ring and lifted Aiden up, only to raise him into a suplex position and crash him down on the apron. My god was that painful as hell. Aiden's face displayed a ton of pain as a lightning bolt feeling jolted through his spine and caused his back to instantly ache. That was not the softest landing and was certainly one of the more painful ones.

Turning towards the apron was an innovative young kid, who had to admit himself, even he was wowed by Aiden's agility. They both were aware that this was a showcasing of a promising future, and win or lose, Jake couldn't be outdone by his competition; it was another thing he refused to accept, even at the mere age of 20 with more than enough room to improve. The kid took a few steps back, looked at Aiden lying down on the apron, and went for a running big boot to the side of Aiden's head. He couldn't necessarily run full speed thanks to the sandy surface that covered the outside of the ring, but as long as it was effective enough to put Covell in a world of hurt, it would suffice.

Painful. Tiring. Annoying. Several words Aiden could use to describe the predicament he was in as well as his back's condition. If it wasn't enough that Jake was now on the prowl and taking the fight back to Aiden, it was going to be worse as Aiden was hung over the side of the apron with his shoulders and head draping over the edge. looking over, Aiden caught Jake's momentum at the last second as a boot came flying right against the side of his head and nearly spun his body with the power applied behind the strike. Aiden's body crumbled to the apron floor again and now Aiden was clutching his neck as it was whiplashed from the big boot's impact.

There weren't quite as many cheers as Jake was hoping for after his move, but plenty of "ooh"s. That was even better than what he had anticipated. Roman felt in control of this match for the first time and rolled Aiden back into the ring once more. It had seemed that the one thing that was different this round was their willingness to think outside the box and step outside of the squared circle. Jake slid in the ring behind Covell and signaled for him to get to his feet. Jake's boots were trembling, itching to connect with Aiden's head once more.

No matter what course the match would take, it was now visible that Aiden had a weak spot. No, it wasn't his back. But it certainly was his head and neck. Having such a whiplashed effect from the boot to his skull wasn't something to take lightly. If anything, he'd need an hour in the Training Room after the match, a spa visit and a ice water bath. But for now, he'd get none of that. Right now, he'd get the suns beaming rays heating up his skin in the middle of the hot beach which coincidentally was heating up the surface of the mat. Uncomfortably, shall Aiden add. Regardless, Aiden had to make it to his feet somehow, someway, and he did. With help from the ropes and the nearest turnbuckle, Aiden once found his grounding against the ropes, but stumbled into the ring corner and how had his back and butt against the top and middle turnbuckle keeping him stood. It was all he could do for now until he shook the 'cobwebs' out of his head and regained some strategy.

Like a train without brakes, Jake aligned himself directly across from the groggy aerialist and charged full-force towards his familiar opponent to attempt a full speed body splash in the corner. No need to try a big boot once more; there was always a time and place for those. Right now, Jake needed to change up his offensive arsenal and keep trying to catch Aiden by surprise.

Groggy. Faintly seeing stars. Equilibrium out of whack. Aiden was not in the right strategic mindset to adequately dodge Jake's oncoming attack in time. He could have easily dropped to his a** on the ground and let Jake slam into the turnbuckle chest-first. But he wasn't thinking clearly. Not yet at least. Aiden needed to focus if he was going to turn this thing around. But until he had that breakthrough, Aiden was hard-pressed against the turnbuckle from the weight of Jake crashing against his frame. Now, Aiden would slump down to his a** on the mat and lean back against the turnbuckle trying to regain his bearings.

See? Patience was a virtue, because an already lightly-gassed Jake Roman would look to the corner to his right (Aiden's left). He hurried towards the turnbuckle in his sight and turned back towards Covell once he felt he was at an adequate distance. Jake was known as a nice guy backstage, but he wasn't one to hand out breathers, and he wouldn't hesitate to capitalize on Covell being in a prone position. The kid sprinted towards his adversary and went for a running boot to the head of Aiden. Jake really loved using the bottom of his feet as an offensive maneuver; not only did it do damage but he was convinced by his peers that he was the best at such a simple big man move.
