I like the original Yu Gi Oh, I also liked the Yu Gi Oh Duelist manga. I never got into the other series. I still have some cards in a binder, I used to play but I wasn't that good, although I couldn't get the right cards to do it properly I guess. I have 7 Trails to Glory on my game boy advanced I was pretty good at that.

Ahhh so they have their own zones then? The show doesn't really make it clear.
Well this one punk kid from the best school in town tries to steal the pendulum cards from the main hero, but loses. So then the main girl of the series ends up confronting the bully kid before he can go after main kid again, and to protect her the guy who looks like a dark version of the hero shows up and duels. Since his dueling has real world effects the bully kid gets injured.
She thinks it is the main hero (and still does for some stupid reason despite things constantly showing her otherwise) and so did the kids. So the school comes to the crappy school the main heroes go to and they decide to settle it in a best of 3 matches duel. If the main characters win they will drop charging them, if they lose the better school absorbs the smaller school and pendulum summoning. Thus the "best in each course" duels some of the main people at the school.
Main character wins, main girl loses (so distracted by "OMG main character beat people up even though they seem totally different just because they look similar" ) and the third match ends in a tie. So to settle it they have a fourth match, which ends up being main character vs main bad guy thus far. The doppleganger struck again though injuring one of the teachers so they called off the duel to rush to the guy, even though the bad guy was winning. And the stupid main girl still doubts that it isn't the main character doing this stuff...
Main character is annoying too since when he isn't all hyper spastic trying to put on a show he gets super emo over everything and puts on his goggles and pouts until someone has to slap sense into him. I swear it has happened 3-4 times so far in the series where he gets super upset over something minor like "wahhh someone else has pendulum summoning besides me now." I can only imagine the temper tantrum he will have once he finally loses.

CARDGAMES ON MOTORCYCLEZ1!!1!1! Sure if you want. I'm probably not going to rewatch it. I lost interest when suddenly they were all going to school and some grandprix thing and they introduced CARDGAMES ON MOTORSKATEBOARDZ1!!1!1! for the kids.
Yeah the cards are magic cards (or trap cards, but like I said they were just in the one duel so far) that the duelists find randomly on the field. Like in a recent boring episode the antagonist duelist is cook themed and he has a food/chef themed deck and the arena is a big kitchen and he kept finding the cards by like turning on a blender and it popping out or opening up something in the kitchen and finding it. They do some broken things too like increase a monster's attack by 1000 or pretty much whatever they need at that moment in the duel it seems.

The GBA and DS games were amazing. It was the main thing to keep me into the series for the longest time. I wasn't into the actual card game for too long since everyone I knew who played quickly dropped it for Magic the Gathering and I ended up trading some of my working deck to make the jump over too. The GBA/DS games helped me still play it though. Was fun too since you could obtain most the cards out at the time in game and most of them functioned like they would if you were to actually play. Though sometimes they would be broken/not work like they should.
