Finnley nodded along as Ime spoke. "It is a g-good thing for people to not have to hurt. Especially if they are r-really hurt..." Finn had seen some really bad wounds after the big battle. It wasn't something she would really want to see again but sometimes you just had to suck it up and get things done.
"I will have to remember these! Do y-you know of anybody who, like, grows plants? That might b-be something good to have at camp....though...assuming it could be m-moved in case camp has to be moved..." While she was compassionate for everyone who may be hurt. The thought of them leaving healing supplies for their enemies didn't quite sit well with her. Although she didn't even want to think about their camp having to push further up into the Jahuaran forests, it was always a possibility.

Ime thought for a moment and then shook her head.
"I've never met anybody like that. It seems like a good idea, though, doesn't it? If you could mimic nature and grow your own plants, right there where you needed them." It seemed like something Mama would have already done, if it was possible. Then again, she may have just never heard the idea. Ime would have to ask about it when they made it back to camp.
"Could you grow them in little bowls or something? The roots aren't too deep on some of them..."

Finnley started thinking as well. How could it be done? Would it even be feasible to have a mobile herb garden? "It would be v-very convenient. Especially during wartime. I...I don't know how it could be done. M-maybe they could be grown in bowls...or maybe someone could make boxes and put them in a c-cart to be able to be mobile?"
It seemed like it could be possible. She just didn't have the green thumb to try it. Finnley decided she'd have to keep an eye out for someone who was good with plants and ask them if it would be possible. It would be very handy to have. "I'll have to keep an eye out for someone who is good with plants and ask them!" Finnley said excitedly. Wouldn't it be neat? Or maybe she should just try to do it herself! Maybe she could get Ime to help!

"That's a good idea too," Ime agreed, nodding as Finnley spoke. There had to be someone somewhere who was good at keeping plants! With so many people at the camp, they had a better chance now than ever before of finding them. "Maybe we should try. I mean, we can take the seeds from the flowers and try to plant some of these, right? I really don't know how to do it, but there's no harm in trying, right?"
She shifted her sash and nearly tipped a few stems to the ground, but righted and saved them at the last moment. They were going to have a great harvest to bring home! Why had she never come searching here before?!

"Right! And aren't there some plants th-that grow if you just replant a piece of them? Maybe some of the h-healers or your Mom would know more about the plants and we can get advice! I think it would be fun to try!" Talking about doing something worthwhile and something that would help a lot of people made Finnley very excited. And it was showing. Her smile was bigger and her eyes were bright.
Ime's sash was getting quite full now. It was amazing how much they had managed to find! "Do you know of other things around here th-that we could try to take back. I think anything and everything helps right now..." Finnley hadn't expected her little outing to go this well but she was happy that it was going great! She had met someone new and was really enjoying the time she was spending with her.

"Hmmm..."
What else was there to bring back? Sticks for kindling? She imagined the bark of some trees must do something good, but she wasn't sure which ones. It would be embarrassing to return with random scraps of nothing. It was amazing what they had come up with in exploring this small area, but that was always kind of ow it went. You wouldn't notice a plant until it was identified, and then not until you learned to look for them.
"I don't know, can you think of anything?"

Finnley scratched her head nervously. She was still learning a lot of the flowers and herbs and what not that were used in healing so she really didn't know what many. "To be honest...I really d-don't. I've been trying to memorize all the different kinds of flowers but maybe I should ask one of the h-healers to help teach me." She had a little way to go before she'd ever consider herself more than a prentice. Finn just hoped it didn't take her too long to do so.
"Maybe if we go back we can ask wh-what they need and what it looks like! That might make th-things a little bit easier!" That way they also wouldn't have an abundance of one and none of another. It was the most logical thing to do, right?

"Yeah, sure! I bet my mama would be willing to help. It'd be nice to have someone to go out collecting with! There's always something you miss that some other person might have found." Without any mentioned of heading back, Ime began toward camp. They'd done all they could do at the moment, and she'd much rather get a bag or basket to carry more plants in!
"Are you going to fight if the Obans attack again?" Being prentices, they still had that choice.

"Your Momma seems l-like she's really neat! I may end up asking her f-for some help as well! Do you th-think she would mind?" If Finnley was thinking of the right person, that lady helped so many people and was such an inspiration to Finn. She would be so excited to have someone like that teach her. Once they started walking back to camp, Finnley realized just how far away they had walked. It would take them a little bit to get back, but it was worth it and it would give them more time to talk!
"I...don't know if I would fight. I like h-helping people. Not hurting them...even if the are our enemies. I don't think I would l-leave. I would stay and do what I could to help I think. It's the right thing to do in my opinion." Finnley meant every word of it. No matter how scary the fighting was or how bad some of the people injuries may be. It would be worth it if she got to help people.

"She is," Ime agreed with a little giggle. Sure, her mother was most often busy, but she had been kind enough to talk to Kelina about her babies and agree to help, so surely she would teach another healer like she had taught her own daughter! It would help a great deal to have another set of hands in the tents, even if they were slightly less experienced. Ime had only been a child when she had begun helping, mostly running supplies from one end of the tent to the other. Now that she was older, she was able to do more.
"I don't think I could hurt somebody, even if I wanted to," she admitted then. "Most people our age want to go right into it, you know? Or like the tournament, just kind of picking up weapons and going after strangers with them. I just don't know if it's something I was meant to do." The words came out before she realized the meaning. Maybe the issue wasn't finding her preferred weapon, but that she didn't prefer weapons at all. A little expression of shock moved over the girl's face. Huh! Imagine that!

Finnley smiled at her companion and her walk had a little bounce in it. They were nearing the camp now, she could hear the hustle and bustle of everyone going about their lives in the camp. "The only way I think I ever could would be if they were trying to hurt someone I love. But I don't th-think I'd be able to hurt anyone really. Maybe it's not! It's okay if it isn't. Not ev-everyone has to wield a weapon. I can t-tell that you're smart! You could do anything!" Finnley reassured her, tending to lean towards an optimistic point of view. "I'm really glad I met you, Ime. Thank you for teaching me a few things! Sh-should we take these flowers to the healing tents?"

Ime smiled broadly. She liked this girl, even if they were a bit different. It would be nice to have a friend that wasn't running off into battle when the next attack inevitably came. The Obans may have taken on more than they could handle with Tendaji. So many people had gathered together to fight, and in the presence of others had grown much stronger. Tendaji would not fall without a fight.
"Yeah, come on!" The girl held up her sash-basket and began to jog for the tents, inevitably striking fear into her mother's heart as she called for her without explanation.

It was nice, Finnely decided, to have a friend who was the same gender. Natsu and Viveka were great, sure, but they weren't like Ime! And she was so easy to talk to! Once they hit the edge of camp, Ime started jogging for the tents and assuredly where ever her mother would be since she started calling her name. With a smile, Finn jogged along behind her, glad that she had made a friend and her little outing had been successful. It had been a good day!
