Melvin sat down, scooting his chair back into place and glanced at the empty chair beside him.
There, Rin. I'll watch over your greenhouse till you get back. Don't worry.
He felt Saliva stir with concern but ignored it as he sat in place and just wished this meeting was done and over with now.

Ami grinned as Melvin sat back down. Well that had certainly been entertaining.
She figured now was as good as time as any. Truthfully she wasn't the slightest bit nervous, she just hated the fact that she had to share something. There was a reason she always proposed her projects in the privacy of Dr. H's office, wherein she felt as though she was on an equal playing field with those present in the room. In the privacy of an office, information was contained, the system was closed.
"Good afternoon," she began her introduction with sparse, short syllables, eyes on the crowd, assessing their demeanor. She didn't give her name or any sort of introduction, as that was meaningless and wasted time. "This is not so much a proposal as an invitation." She let the word linger, as though she'd presented a gift from the gods. "I have captured three demons, who are now in my possession and jurisdiction. I am extending an invitation, with the doctor's approval of course-" There was a quick look to the doctor, which then became a short gaze. "-for those within the life division to study them on an appointed date, which I will post at a later time at an inconspicuous place. It will be a guided study." As in, her rules. "No other divisions will be allowed. Anyone deemed unfit for study will be asked to leave immediately. Those not willing to follow such accommodations are not invited." Ami's sentence ended crisply, leaving no room for comment nor question. She was not asking anything of anyone, merely providing an opportunity. It was hardly a friendly invitation, but nothing that came from Ami's lips was anything remotely in the ballpark of friendly.
Now she looked back to the Doctor. Quote: Basically announcing there will be an orp shortly for anyone to come study the demons :'DDD !! All are welcome, Ami's just a grumpycat.

Sitting silently he watched the others around him, lips puckering slightly as things rolled on at a snail's pace. This meeting was shitty, these people worse than that as far as he could tell. Did he even have anything in common with any of them? Aside from division? Not that it mattered much he supposed. As a woman rose up to 'invite' them all to a study of demons he coughed, rudely, purposefully as she spoke then placed his legs crossed over one another to listen. It sounded exciting, of course, most probably thought otherwise due to delivery but he wasn't thrown by the lack of warmth in the woman's tone. In fact he was more intrigued as it registered no nonsense and he liked that the most.
A careful study of her face and he made note to watch for her posting, given the doctor approved the study but with this place the way it was he doubted it would be much of a problem. Looking from the woman to the doctor he wondered if finding her on twitter would be possible, given how many hunters were already on there he didn't think it would be a stretch for her and if she used her picture boom he had a name. Pulling his phone out he flipped the twitter app up and started to browse the followers of other hunters, looking for the woman and from time to time glancing up, so he at least appeared to be paying attention to what was being discussed though not doing so in the least.
Shifting in his seat Cain sighed a bit to himself, pocketing his phone for now since his searching had gotten him nowhere but a faster boredom. On a yawn he started stretching out and wondering just what kinds of demons had been captured. How many types of demons were there, all these things were still new to him, but fascinating none the less. Curiosity coming strong he started to run through various possibilities, imagining a giant bear demon, they had those right? Probably...it was probably adorable, scary adorable? Could that happen, running a hand through his hair he chuckled softly to himself attention back on the crowd and off his own musings.
At least until another thought struck him, was there such thing as a peppermint demon? Or would it be more of a sweets demon, people were afraid of things like rotten teeth and such right and Dakota had said that these creatures were born of fear. It could totally happen then by that logic, which was amazing in itself. Deliciously amazing, unless it was rotten then not so amazing, like Jojo she was not so amazing. Cain grinned slowly, a sort of creepy grin before his features fell back into the normal bored look he held. A hand going over the pen tucked into his belt loop, Jojo's totem form.

Someone else had spoken up, and then things had gone quiet again, and Laz was nudging at Noah's mind restlessly. He swallowed his anxiety as best he could and sat up in his chair, his eyes flicking rapidly between Dr. H and Mary, finally settling on the assistant as the safer option. "I'd, I'd like to conduct experiments on growing vegetables and, and crops with a focus on sustainability and utility," he said, and swallowed, and added, "I've read over the records of previous attempts, but they all mention the effects of Insanity fog, so, um, since that variable has changed, I'd like to repeat some of the studies and find out what that will affect." He glanced nervously around the table, at Dr. H again, and then fixed his eyes back on Mary, waiting to be slapped down for having had the audacity to suggest that he was capable of conducting research.

It was strange to realize just how many unfamiliar faces cropped up in this meeting -- just how few people in his division Ever had actually interacted with. His eyes settled on each as they stood to make their proposals and then, thoughtfully, raked out over the crowd. In truth, he hadn't yet begun to think of himself as 'one of them', or embraced his identity as part of this particular faction of Deus. He was still struggling, somewhat, with the label of hunter, and nevermind adding Life before that.
But on the other hand...perhaps he should take note of some of the faces. A few he recognized from Twitter, or chance meetings here and there, but others were completely new. This island was too small for him to never have seen some of these people: where had they been hiding?
The truth was that, in fact, it had been more him hiding than them. Mopping, cleaning up. An EM here and there, but nothing really important, nothing that drove him forward. He frowned, and fought down a strange, niggling urge to get up and make a proposal himself, just to make himself a part of things.
Probably for the best: a thought in the back of his mind, and he wasn't sure if it was his or Amory's. It wasn't like he had a major skillset to offer anyway.
