Dizzy had her chin propped in in her hand and was just watching all the pae having fun with their families. It was heartwarming. A little chubby pae child -- of which type she had no clear idea, but it was obviously a pae -- looked lost and confused.
"Can I help you find anything, hun? You look like a pae on a mission."
Hearing an older pae talk to him Melanthios looked at her for a moment before skittering over and showing her the glass bottle. "I found this, but I can't read what inside." He explained. "Would you be able to help me?" he asked as he titled his head a bit, causing his antennae to bounce lightly.

"Of course! That's my specialty; reading letters in bottles," she said with a wink as she reached out for the child's bottle.
She wiped some of the sand off and looked it over. "Mighty fine bottle you found here, but his cork doesn't want to seem to come off!" She put a little more muscle into it, but finally, with a loud pop and tiny puff of smoke, the cork came out. Dizzy looked at the bottle with concern. They aren't supposed to do that.
Cautiously, but also trying to not alarm the child, she peered into the bottle. It darkened on the inside, and there was something else in there with the paper. The fairies did not tell her that there would be surprises in these bottles. She smiled weakly at Melanthios and slowly tipped the bottle. Oh Guardians please don't be something bitey.
The note came out first. It was singed a bit on the corners, but otherwise fully intact. "Lessee..." Dizzy put the bottle on the table and read the note. Oh dear. "Hun, are your parents nearby? I bet they'd wanna see this special message, too."
On the note, it was obvious something had written over the original instructions for receiving a new blessing. Dizzy could read it, but she didn't want to speak aloud in front of children. She took one more peek into the bottle. She couldn't quite figure out what was in there because soot covered the inside. Well, it looked like soot.
It wasn't the message itself that worried her, but how it was written.
Help me. Written in blood.
This was not a fun carnival prize for a child. This was not mentioned at all in the job description.
His eyes sparked as she said that she could open the bottled and he wiggled excitedly as she tried to open it. He was quite pleased when she said it was a fine bottle. To him it was the best bottle in the world! Oooh that was so cool! He thought that the smoke coming out of the bottle was pretty awesome, surely it was a sign that there was something great in the bottle!
He tilted his head once again, looking rather confused when she asked for his parents. He wiggled uncomfortably for a moment at the mention of parents. He didn't know if he acutely had them or not. Just that he had been found as a seed. "Eachann takes care of me, I can get him if you'd like?" He spoke up after a moment of pondering. The paeterpiller waited a moment for her response before shuffling off to find the faun.
It took him sometime to find the tall wood-colored faun, or rather for the faun to find him. Said faun was extremely upset that Melanthios had wandered off on his own. The paeterpiller twitched impatiently as he got lectured, they needed to go back to the lady and talk about his letter! "But I found a letter in the bottle and the lady wants you there when she reads it!" He exclaimed at the faun as he tried to pull him in the right direction.
Eachann's tail was still swishing back and forth angrily as he finished lecturing the toddler for running off like that. Some how he felt that Melanthios hadn't paid attention to a word he had said. He sighed as the the other rambled on about a letter in a bottle. "Fine we'll go check it out." He said as he picked Melanthios up. He wasn't planing on letting the paeterpiller run away again.
The return to the booth took a lot less time than it had to find the required adult. Eachann looked curiously at the bottle, letter and pae that ran the stall. "Hello." He greeted, unsure of why he was needed.
Melanthios waved excitedly to the lady as they returned to the booth. "This is Eachann!" He stated proudly. Pleased that he had completed his quest to fetch the adult.

Dizzy fidgeted nervously waiting for the boy's parents. She wasn't sure what to tell him or how to approach this. Maybe she should have just offered to trade tickets for the bottle. That would have made this much easier.
She nodded her head at the faun that was introduced. This was also a quite exciting moment for the pink fae because she had never met a faun face-to-face. Only ever saw them in passing. "Nice to meet you, Eachann. You son here found a very interesting bottle in the treasure hunt game. I thought maybe you'd like to take a look at his letter before we give him his prize." She smiled, belying the worry inside.
She showed the note to Eachann. "This is a special note, unique in that it wasn't expected at all." She couldn't tell the faun that it wasn't a proper prize in front of the kid. He was so happy and excited. She looked over the booth to see if she had anything that would work as a prize or distraction. In the corner was a couple of plush dolls that were to be given as prize trades for some items. While Eachann looked over the note, she retrieved a plush toy and held it out for Melanthios. "Here, I think you have earned this special prize for finding such a special bottle."
She glanced to Eachann and then picked up the bottle. She took a deep breath and then tipped the bottle on the table to find out what was in it while Melanthios was distracted and looking away. Please don't be something gross or a body part.
She winced when something fell out of the bottle, but it didn't exactly fall. It floated. A pink and blue feather. Harmless really. Except the blood splatters.
"I ... I don't know what that is," she admitted. Was it an angel feather? A bird feather? It was hard to tell. Was it the quill in which the note was inscribed? Was there a pae out there in distress? This was definitely puzzling. "The best I can say is perhaps seek out a shaman. They might be able to get the answers from the island."
Dizzy hoped it was nothing. Just a gimmick from the fairies for a scavenger hunt or something. She knew they did that from the stories her daughter told of last summer's 'Getaway'.
"I can ... trade you tickets for it, if you'd rather not involve yourself in this mystery. There are some nice prizes in exchange for the tickets." She had to offer at least. Eachann could make the decision if he wanted to take on the mystery of the feather or just let Melanthios have some tickets for a different prize.
(( In-character, Dizzy's muse wouldn't let me give the feather to a child, so it made sense to me to bring in his guardian. I hope you don't mind. You can take the feather to the faun Seer, Vanya, and she can provide more information. Should Eachann want to know more.))
"'Power scrolls. Just give out some papers to send pae off to get Guardian blessings. That's all you have to do, Dizzy.' My butt, those tricksy little fairies." Dizzy thought to herself.
A slight blush formed on his face when the other pae mention his 'son'. He was still getting used to the idea of being a parental figure. "Uh sure I'll take a look." He said. Hearing the way she was speaking he shifted Melanthios so that the boy wouldn't be able to see the paper as he read it. The faun was shocked when he saw what was written on the note, he quickly masked his surprise hoping that Melanthios wouldn't notice. "I see what you mean, it is very special."
Melanthios pouted when he wasn't able to see the note, his attempt to grab it was thwarted when he was given a huge plushie. "Yay!" He clutched the toy to his body excitedly. "What does it say?" He said looking up at eachann over the top of his new toy. For it to be so special it must have said something really cool! "Drat" Eachann thought as the plushie wasn't able to keep melanthios' mind from the paper. He was trying to figure out how to respond when Dizzy started to empty the bottle. He was preparing to shield the boy's eyes in case it was something really gross. Luckily it was just a feather. Although said feather lost points for being bloody. "The tickets sound go-"
"Nooo!" Melanthios cried cutting off Eachann's statement. "We need to solve the mystery! It's going to be fun!"
"I'm not so sure." Eachann responded, the bloody message was worrying and it was not something a child should be involved with. "I'm sure you could get something really neat with the tickets."
Melanthios shook his head. "I want the feather!" It looked rather neat and it must be special if it was in the bottle. It wasn't like anything they could find here. Plus he had an awesome plushie!
Eachann groaned He could have just taken the tickets anyway and deal with an extremely upset child but he had to admit he was curious about it. He just didn't want to get Melanthios involved in something that could be dangerous. "If I take the feather, and see the Seer you have to promise me that you'll stay home if I think its to dangerous for you okay?"
The Paeterpiller pouted, he had found it! He should be the one to find out what it meant! While he wanted to be there the whole time he knew that Eachann would take the tickets otherwise. "Fiiine" He said with the most pouty voice he could mange. "But you have to promise to tell me everything I miss! Annd you have to buy me something cool if you ditch me!" The faun sighed before acquiescing to buying something. Hopefully they would find something that Melan would like while they where here. "Looks like I'll take the feather." He said with a tired smile before grabbing the feather and bottle. He placed the feather and note back in the bottle, looser than they had been so it was easy to get out but in a way that Melanthios wouldn't be able to see the blood on the note. He figured it might be a good idea to show the seer the note along with the feather. He wondered what he had just gotten himself into.
(Nahh its fine! I don't blame her xD Creepy bloody note is not child-friendly)

Pasha was SOSOSOSO excited!! She had finally found a thing! And a pretty thing at that! A nice blue crystal that sparkled in the sun and made pretty shadows all over the ground. But even better, she was told to find someone named Azure who would tell her just what it was. So off the little pink toddler toddled, finding a blue angel she assumed was this Azure person. She scuttled over, clutching her crystal tightly and reached out to tap his leg before holding out the blue crystal to him. "What do?!" she beamed, rocking back and forth on her heels, tiny little wings flapping.
As she finished her explanation to Nimue, another voice beckoned for Takeko's attention. She turned to see a strange...feline-like Pae'il holding another pouch. It may have been more shocking actually, if not for certain familiar features...
Shaking her head, she hurriedly apologized. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to stare. You just...remind me a bit of my granddaughter's girls... Err, what can I help you with?" At first inspection, the pouch seemed unremarkable, but if she was able to help...
When she got the drawstrings open, Takeko's first sight was of a collection of dried herbs and leaves. Nothing too out of the ordinary really, typical grasses, straw...however, something lay bundled beneath. Something round, heavy, smooth...something the angel carefully removed from the pouch with wide eyes. Was this...?
"Hmm...I may know what this is...but I'd prefer to have someone else confirm my suspicions," she said, turning her eyes up towards the young woman. "I have a dear friend from the Great Tree. He mentioned someone else there who had found something like this, so she may be able to help you. Her name is Twinkleshine, and she's a white fauny with smooth hooves and a horn...I think they call themselves 'unicorns'? I hope I got that term right," she muttered to herself.
"I heard she's here at the carnival today, actually," she added with a nod. "Of course, if you can't find her, please come back and see me. I know a couple of other Pae you might talk to; they might be available by then."
((Haha...you can SOLO an RP with Twinkleshine on the secrets of what Shahrazad has found if you'd like. Or, if you'd rather play out the discovery with another player instead, or if the interaction between Twinkleshine and Shah would just be too awkward, I think we have a couple of backup volunteers. Just let me know and have Shah come back to see Takeko. XD))
Shahrazhad kept on a deceivingly calm face as the item was brought out and the pae to seek next was revealed. Twinkleshine? Oh... She knew that pae; the mother of the monster haunting her days. Was she really to seek her out? If Rosewater found out...
...well, it wouldn't be that bad she supposed.
"I see." Slowly, the demon reached forward to take her item back from Takeko and turned it in her hands. Its surface felt smooth and cold, yet with an almost fluttering warmth. Strange. "Well... Thank you for your time Takeko; I shall return if I have difficulties finding this Twinkleshine you speak of." Naturally, it would be pretty easy to spot the female in the crowd. "Have a pleasant day."

Azure felt the tap on his leg, and looked around before his eyes dropped level to see the young girl before him with a blue crystal. "Oh hello there, sweetheart." He smiled at the young demon girl in front of him. Two young girls had come up to his booth so far, it made him wonder why he hadn't had daughters. The blue angel knew the answer to that though: it would have turn him into Raken, at least boys were less fragile.
"Alright, let's see what you have here. May I see it?" Azure looked it over, he was partial to this one because of its color, but as he looked it over there seemed to be something off about it. Azure thought he might know what it was, but he couldn't really be sure. Something told him if he gave the girl tickets for it and brought it home, Dyas would kill him.
"I think you have something very, very special here." Azure told the girl. He didn't even turn to his books, he knew there wasn't anything in it for this. "This isn't just a pretty rock... but I don't think I can tell you what it is either..."
The blue angel tapped his forehead, trying to think of the name of a pae who might know "Ah right. There's a naiad named Nereus. Do you know what a naiad is little one?" Nereus should be able to help the young girl figure out what this crystal was, and what to do with it.

Remy approached Takeko's booth and pointed at the lady behind it, and then looked over his shoulder at Porter who had followed him, a small mountain of tickets and other things Remy had found during his dig in tow. After receiving a nod from his father Remy reached up, holding the bag over his head so that the lady could see. "I found this. It's mine." the rainbow pup said it happily, he wasn't trying to be mean... but it was his.
"Remy..." Porter shook his head, his children had a thing for territory, a difficult trait to put up with three of them in a small house.
"But I can sharrre." Remy added, looking back at his father.

Pasha had handed over her crystal only reluctantly, and she bounced around as he spoke, but the moment he said very, very special, her eyes lit up and were as wide as can be. "Really?!" she cooed excitedly, making grabby hands at her crystal as he spoke about some Nereus Naiad person. Whatever that was. "Ah...n..no? What is naiad?" she blinked, suddenly worried she might never find this person and figure out what her pretty rocks were.
"Hm... well the naiad live in the water. They're like us, but have tails and fins instead of wings." Azure paused to look around the carnival, "She is silver colored..." Azure's eyes scanned the crowd hopefully. It felt like he was giving a difficult task for a young girl to look for a naiad, you never really knew when they were hanging out on the surface. With any luck, Nereus was at the carnival as well. This type of occasion was the most likely thing to bring everyone together.
Azure's eyes lit up and he smiled as he placed the crystal gently into Pasha's hands. "Take this to that lady right there." Azure said pointing in Nereus' direction. "You see the silver one?"

Water....tails and fins instead of wings....uh.... Pasha blinked and glanced around for something silver colored with finny tails and not wings. She didn't have to look long however as Azure pointed her out. The little pink demon blinked. So that was a naiad huh? Well, if he said so! She knew what was in her very very special crystals! "Thank you!" she beamed, taking he crystals and giving Azure..or rather his leg... a really big hug and a pat. "Byebye!" she cooed, hugging the blue shines close and toddling away.
