He looked at the red head for a moment as he laid down, resting his back against Babu's torso as he lounged there, staring up at the ceiling. "Babu may seem so to you but he's a burden and he knows it," It sounded rather harsh but the reality was that having Babu was a burden to him in that most people stayed away from him because his soul was both intimidating and different from everyone elses. No one wanted to be associated with him as he was the odd man out. No one really knew the truth about how he was born to live a luxurious life but because of the greed and jealousy of someone, he was cursed and was forced to live in the streets of the ghetto, raised in an orphanage filled with unwanted children. Children who had fathers in the rich side that had sex with their mother who was a prostitute in the poor side and so they were just cast aside. Or children who were unfortunately born with blonde, light brown, or red hair despite their parents having dark brown hair or black hair. It was something Balthazar avoided talking about.
"It's not really something I wish to discuss...I'm sure you're jealousy will go away once you find a way back to your home where I'm sure you have friends and family who will be happy to see you. Don't sit there and be jealous of a person who has nothing but themselves..." Which was true since Babu was merely an extension of him.

Orion let his gaze wander to the two of them and smiled softly, no- he didn't seem like a burden at all... Or at least Orion didn't see it like that. The lion seemed to be an amazing creature to him- and even if he brought some grief, in the end was he not a friend? Sure he was a part of Balthazar, but he also seemed to have a mind and personality of his own. "Home... I'm not sure that will be possible" He voiced, his own tone going meek. How could he get back without the proper magic to cast the spell... He didn't have another mage here to help him, and he could only use the fire magic that he was born with.
"Nothing... No I don't...really think that's true. Babu might be a part of you but- he also.... I dunno, seems like a entity of his own." He stated, looking to the lion with deep violet eyes. "He's a solid creature- with mass and structure- and his own thoughts and emotions...even if they are based off of yours...he is his own being in a sense" He continued, simply stating the facts that he could see with his own eyes. After all, though he was young he was extremely successful in the academy and well...a prodigy.

Babu had risen his head and looked over to Balthazar and they seemed to have been speaking to one another. He rolled his eyes at the large cat and elbowed the lion's side in which Babu growled and stood up, letting Balthazar fall over on the bed. With a heavy sigh he pushed Babu while he was walking off the mattress. The large cat slowly made his way over to Orion and for a moment it seemed like he was going to pounce on him. But surprisingly enough Babu had plopped down next to the red head and continued to groom himself. Already the cat's heat would help warm up the red head...not that he needed it but doing this was a way of showing Orion that Babu trusted him...or at the very least liked him.
One way to get Babu to like you is to pretty much complement him as Orion had just done.
"Traitor," Balthazar replied with a growl of his own before turning his back on the two. "I'm going to sleep, I have work in a couple hours. Don't wake me.." And from there he tried to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Orion watched the two curiously, wondering just what they were discussing- that Is until Babu stood up from his spot on the bed and made his way towards Orion, making the red head shift a bit. He couldn't help but be a little nervous when the predator approached- after all... He didn't think the lion liked him much...that is until he plopped down next to him and began grooming himself. He looked at Babu with disbelief in his gaze- his violet orbs darting to Balthazar as he growled the word traitor to the creature and...well he had to raise a hand to stop himself from chuckling at that. These two may be the same soul- but they were surely two different entities.
He turned his gaze to the lion as Balthazar rolled over and smiled softly to himself- "Wanna see a trick?" He voiced quietly, before he raised his hand and concentrated on his palm. A dim light came to life in his pal- that violet magic with the flowery scent. for a moment nothing changed about it- until two small figured appeared in his palm- Babu sitting proudly at Balthazar's side- the blonde with his arms over his chest and his gaze set in a defiant glare...something he seemed very good at. "I mean... it isn't much but... This is how I see you two- proud and strong" He added, letting the image fade as he sighed and leaned back against the wall- letting his head tap against the wall with a soft thump. Violet eyes closed softly as he willed himself to sleep- though that didn't seem to want to come to him easily.... But at least Babu at his side gave him some comfort.

The lion had watched with interest and when the fire died down his attention went else where. He sat there rigid with his ears pointed and his fur bristling slightly as he sniffed the air. With Balthazar in a deep sleep he would take it upon himself to get rid of her vermin he smelled. Standing up he looked over to Orion but didn't linger as he turned and his body seemed to have faded slightly to where he was almost transparent. He then walked through the wall so that he could leave the room without needing the door open for him.
Once out in the hall he hurriedly made his way around the corner and toward and open window. Hopping out he walked down the stairs of the fire escape then jumped down to the group with feline grace. He was now in the alley as he walked further down, following the familiar scent and at last he stood several feet in front of a shadowed figure and after a couple more steps he stood in front of a man who looked just like Balthazar except for the pitch black hair and the deep brown eyes and of course the prissy white cat sitting upon the males shoulders as it waved it's tail back and forth with that snooty expression on his face. Babu hated both, but hated that stupid cat the most.
"Only you?" The male said as he reached over and began to pet his cat as the cat purred and looked down at Babu as if he was mightier than the big lion.

Orion heard the creature shift at his side- violet eyes cracking open just in time to see Babu faze through the wall. His eyes widened with alarm as the lion disappeared from sight and his gaze darted to Balthazar. He had said not to wake him.... So he wouldn't. Quietly he shifted to his feet and crept out the door- just in time to see Babu jump out the window. Biting his bottom lip he closed the door behind him softly and made his way hurriedly followed the lion out the window and on to the fire escape. Finally he reached the Alley- spotting Babu from a distance "Babu! what in the world--" He voiced in a hushed tone, though he stopped speaking when he heard another voice. Instantly he summoned the little bird he had created into existence- making it appear just around the corner so it would look like it had followed him and fluttered over to sit on his shoulder.
Warily he approached Babu- making sure to keep some distance between himself and the Lion just in case. Once closer he found himself sucking in a breath of disbelief. He looked identical to Balthazar... only his hair and eyes gave the fact that he was someone else away. "Who..." He muttered his gaze moving to the lion once again. He seemed agitated...and Orion didn't want Balthazar to be disturbed. So he gathered himself and stood a bit taller. "Can...we help you?" He voiced- his voice wasn't threatening, holding that gentleness it always carried- but there was an edge of confidence to it. He wasn't afraid of this man...why should he be?

Babu growled at the male as he spoke with a deep threatening voice, "You have no business here, leave." Before Bartholomew could reply to her his attention was brought to a red headed male who seemed to know Babu and that just sparked his interest. He stared at the boy for a moment as he smirked slightly though the glint in his eyes was aggressive and sinister. "More like can I help you? Has Zar finally found himself a willing slave?" He looked to Babu and since he and Balthazar were twins he could actually understand the lion.
"Not necessarily but as I said...leave," He growled and moved so that he was standing between the two. He didn't like the way Bart was staring at Orion and so he turned slightly and motioned with his head for Orion to head back.
"Now now don't leave just yet. I wanna know who you are, haven't seen a red head with your kind of eyes. Something about you interests me, how about you and I go to my place and talk? I'm curious how you know my dearest...brother." Bart had walked toward Orion but Babu remained between the two of them and he stopped when the lion had growled.

Orion nearly shuddered when the male looked at him- he didn't like this guy...something about him made Orions nerves tingle with wrongness. His gaze shifted to Babu for one moment as the Lion moved between him and the man- taking note that Babu wanted him to leave- but he didn't think that was necessary. "I'm not sure it's any of your business as to who I am or how I know... Balthazar. " He stated rather flatly- years of dealing with professors who didn't like him because of his talents teaching him how to deal with people like...this man. He wouldn't let him intimidate him.
Orion had to stop himself from looking away when he brought up his eyes- he'd forgotten that his eyes were not...something people were used to here. "Anyways- I feel it would be unwise to go anywhere with you. And as Babu doesn't seem to really enjoy your company I'd ask if you would please leave" He adde-d making sure to keep his tone curt, polite, but firm.

The way the male had spoken sparked Bart's curiosity even more. With a smirk he replied,"Oh..but I don't think you have much of a choice really. Babu can leave Zar a message that you and I are having a nice cup of tea at my house." The cat on his shoulder had meowed and looked down at Babu and hissed to where it almost sounded like a chuckle. "Better watch your step you big ol' p***y cat." The cat meowed before going back to grooming himself while Bart dealt with Orion.
Rather than replying Babu merely growled and let his claws slowly grow out from his paws though they were only for intimidation purposes. However Bart's next comment had Babu relax and almost seem defeated.
"If you haven't realized already, I live in the upper rings of the city and my family has a great influence on what happens down here. So if you don't want dear ol' Zar to loose that job of his...I suggest you come along." He glared down at Babu in which the lion had backed up and turned as he left, heading back inside and leaving Orion by himself.
The end of the alley would show a car driving up and waiting as Bart headed toward the car but waited for Orion to come along.

The red head had to stop himself from clenching his hands into fists- keeping them relaxed at his sides. He wanted to wipe that smug look off on the mans face- oh so badly. But he had promised not to give Balthazar any grief- and thus he would do just that. 'I'll be fine' He commented silently to himself, shooting Babu a gentle look as the lion backed up to leave. He understood completely, after all Babu owed him nothing.
His gaze returned to that firm expression as he looked to the man again. "I see that I don't really have a choice." He murmured as he walked forwards- letting himself fall into the ease and grace that the academy had taught him- he was a prodigy, he was proud- and he was strong. He would not be intimidated by someone who hid behind a title and wealth. That wasn't power.
Of course Orion had no idea what a car was- and had to force himself not to panic as it pulled up. He simply slid inside when the door was pulled open, moving to the far side so that he didn't have to be close to the dark haired man, keeping his gaze steady and focused ahead. "So what is it you wanted to talk about? I'd actually prefer to keep this short and sweet. As I don't know you, and frankly I would prefer not to- no offense, but your intentions don't seem to be good natured in any sense of the word." He stated bluntly.

Bart followed in suit as he got into the car and shut the door, telling the driver to head off to his house as he looked over to the red head. He smiled and found his bluntness and attitude very amusing. His cat sat on his lap as he let his fingers comb through his fur. "Now then don't be so hasty. First things first, I'm Bartholomew but feel free to call me Bart. And by now I'm sure you realize that Zar and I are twins. But I'd like to know more about you before I talk about myself and Zar in detail. So how about it?"
He gave a friendlier smile and it would seem that his expressions were a lot softer now that they were inside the car. Of course that could all just be forced however it would be hard to tell considering that he was very good at faking expressions.
He then moved the the mini fridge that was in his town car. He pulled out a bottle of champagne as he poured some for himself and Orion. He then held the glass out for him to take...if he wanted it of course.

It didn't matter if the male seemed to be more at peace within the vehicle- just seeing Babu on edge like that had set something off in Orions mind- this man was not a good person. "My name is Orion, I would prefer to keep my personal life as it is- personal." He stated curtly, his gaze moving to the bubbling drink - he really didn't do alcohol well. "No thank you I'm not good with liquor" He voiced gently- slipping back into that careful and tender tone- unable to really help it. He didn't like being curt with people- and he certainly wasn't a hostile person.
"Anyway, I would prefer not to speak of anything personal in the long run. If there are things I need to know about Balthazar, then I'll let him tell me if he wants to." He added, folding his hands on his lap so that he wouldn't fiddle. "I don't see why my being here is a big deal. I've just met Balthazar and he has given me a place to sleep whilst I am...visiting." He stated- careful of his choice of words.

"But that's just the thing, he will tell you nothing, even things one aught to know about another. For example he could be mentally ill and you're going to be his next victim. That may or may not be true. Besides the fact that he has allowed you a place to sleep makes it a VERY big deal. All in all you know nothing and that's what fascinates me the most. You either have big balls or you are the most naive person I've ever met," He replied with a light chuckle while downing the drink he had offered Orion then he proceeded to take sips from his own cup.
He stared forward for a moment in completely silence and mumbled, "Hm...I lost my train of thought..." Looking over at Orion he tried to remember what the hell he was going to say or do. With a shrug he went on to a new subject. "I guess just know that Zar did something pretty terrible to deserve to have his appearance changed and cast aside to the poor side. I advise you to be very...veeery careful." He proceeded to pull out a car and handed it over to Orion.
"This is my address since clearly you want to head on back. So when you finally decide that being around Zar is too dangerous, then come by any time." He smiled and the car finally came to a halt as they were back at the apartment building and Orion was free to leave.

Orion Listened to the male as he spoke- though he actually found himself doubting him. He didn't think Zar wanted to be alone- but he had to protect himself and thus he shut others out. 'or- I have a boat load of magic as my arsenal and could incinerate you in an instant' he added mentally, which almost pulled a smirk to his lips but he kept himself composed. He bit the inside of his cheek when the other spoke of an 'appearance change'. So it wasn't hard for him to suspect the man in the car next to him. "I believe I'm already doing so" He added as the car pulled to a stop.
The word 'Dangerous' rang in his head for a moment- So far Bartholomew was the one who had threatened him....or at least he had threatened to upturn Zar's life. "I should inform you that I don't feel threatened by Zar in the least- and the same goes for you Bartholomew" He voiced, deciding it was actually best to address the man with his full name- he didn't want to seem like he was on friendly terms. He took the card from the man as a polite act, slipping it into his coat pocket as he opened his car door and halted for only one moment to look over his shoulder at Bart. "Besides- it seems that those with high social status are the ones who should be deemed dangerous- abusing ones status is shameful where I come from" He stated, before he slipped out completely and closed the car door- not waiting for a response.
The male made his way wearily back to the apartment, creeping in as quietly as possible- before taking his place in the corner against the wall...though this time he wouldn't be able to sleep... His mind was racing.

"You'll see," Bartholomew replied as the driver drove off as he an ominous grin grew on his face as he chuckled and already devious thoughts were being planned.
Back in the apartment Babu had been laying beside Balthazar as his head lifted and looked to see Orion walk back in. His glowing eyes watched him curiously though he simply put his head back down and tried to get some sleep himself. He didn't know what Orion and Bart had discussed...but he felt a bit apprehensive toward Orion now. Could he trust the red head now? For now he would steer clear from him until he knew what happened between him and Zar's brother. He would be sure to tell Zar once he was up which would be in about an hour now.
