Otto still sulked, a little less pointedly. "Fine. But that means I don't gotta say nothin' either." Which was likely what she wanted anyway. He loved Maebe and Cami in very different ways. He didn't realize he could love people so differently until he'd been with them. His eyes widened suddenly. "I just had a thought." He murmured. "Who has my body?" He hadn't seen the others in the infirmary. If he had, he'd have latched to whoever had his body and given them the talk.

There was something foreign in her expression, for just a moment. Something that looked like it might have been regret, but it was so much more. Yearning, disappointment, what was it? It was too hard to pin it all down, other than to simply say it was off. And then he brought up the subject of the bodies, and poof - it was gone. "I assumed Shy. Are there more of you? You never actually told me how all of this happened - but to be fair, I never really asked." She leaned in - there was no hesitation, no thought, no tease - and kissed him briefly on the lips. "Okay." She murmured, settling in for storytime. "Tell me what happened."

"So here's the thing.." He started, trying not to spook himself too much by the foreign voice coming from himself. "Me, Shiloh, Gale, Quinn and Lucky... we went on a mission." Mission, yeah. That was a good cover. Not a 'take Otto to undo the bad thing he did' quest. Which he never undid, as far as he could tell. "We met up with who I assume was uh.. probably Death?" No big deal, don't ask questions. "He asked us to make a wish, but let us take a rain cheque instead." As evidenced by the black hourglass tattoo on Shiloh's forearm. Like they all did now. "He let Alice take us back. But we all woke up in the Infirmary in different bodies. I mean, I didn't really get to see the others, since I pretty much hid under a blanket for a while."

Five boys, all of which had probably switched with one another. Now she realized why he was curious about who was in his body, right now. And to a lesser degree, so was she. "So a raincheck on a wish from Death. Didn't anybody think to like, you know, ask for immortality?" What else did someone ask from Death? "Or maybe he's hoping you guys wish to be back in your right body. Hah, that would be messed up - here, have a free wish on me, but just kidding I know what you're going to use it on because I'm just messing with you." Yeah, that sounded like Death all right.

"Immortality? I dunno. Besides, the wish comes at a cost." Likely a grave one. "He said it had to be specifically pertainin' to Death. I can only imagine what bad s**t would happen in exchange for never dyin'." Would he lose friends? Youth? Maybe some extinction of species? Was being immortal even worth any such cost? He didn't want to die, but he wasn't sure he wanted to live forever, either.
"Just... I don't think I can sit here without worryin' what some sack of s**t is doing out there with my face." Imagine his reputation ruined! "I mean, I'm sure we'll switch back eventually..."

"None of the guys you went on that mission with are sacks of s**t", Maebe huffed out defensively, but she hesitated when she realized there was one she didn't know. "Except maybe that Gale guy, I don't know him. But if any of the other three have your body, you're perfectly safe. They're good guys. Especially Shiloh. But Lucky and Quinn are good people. If anything," Her face twisted back into mischief. "They should be worried about you."

Otto looked insulted. "What?! Why would they worry that I'd---"
<>
"I---- Whatever!" Otto huffed, rolling to show Maebe his back. "I mean, maybe I'd do somethin' stupid if I was in Gale's body, cause well... he's a dweeb."

Otto's reaction was so perfectly, predictably Otto. She laughed, genuinely laughed, and threw her arms around his back. "You say that all innocent, but think about it. Of those five boys, only two - maybe three, if Gale does - has a relationship. Right? And of the five, only one has two women crawling all over him. So." Her hands slid down his chest, into places they shouldn't. "They should be worried about you, not because of who you are. But because of who you've got."

Whatever. He was so innocent. Super innocent! Just because he touched a thing that made them all have to go on some dumb quest, that made him untrustowr----okay ******** it, she was right. He was the least trustworthy of them all.
That kind of sucked.
Otto twitched, grabbing her hand before she went anywhere with it. "Y'make a valid point." He grumbled, getting himself up from lying on some other dude's bed. "I'd best just keep away from the both of ya. Yanno. To preserve Shiloh's uh... integrity."

"Noooooooo." Maebe pulled a pillow over her face and started to cry.

Otto rolled his eyes. "Nice try, sweetheart." He drawled lazily. "Them tears are faker than yer phony mask."

She pulled the pillow off, clearly tear-free, and smiled. "What mask?"
The pillow came for his knees, flung with a mighty vengeance.

Otto jumped back, trying to grab the pillow she was using against him. Pillows were a tool of slumber and comfort! Curse the witch who used them for war!
"Well, until I get my body back, you don't get none of this." He swept his arm across his borrowed body in a haughty show of self confidence. "Off limits."

Watching him - no, watching Shiloh do that arm sweep with the haughty look on his face was just too much for Maebe. She pulled the pillow back, and held it up to her face, biting into it. She was trying so hard not to burst out laughing at you don't get none of this, but it wasn't working - And a few seconds later, she buried her face into the pillow and made sounds much like the ones she had when she was crying, except these were real. And they were not tears.

She had to be laughing. It was just so Maebe to start laughing at him after such a ludicrous display.
Otto puffed his cheeks, crossed his arms, and debated leaving. Debated a long time.
