Myra pouted as Meia dodged and turned into a fox. Her eyebrow twitched again. The dumb fox had dodged.

"M-myra….H-how did you…."

Myra blinked and looked toward Cora only to see her companion stumble and then take off full speed toward the front door. "Wait, Cora!" Myra reached out, but Cora had already sped off. This was all Meia's fault!

Well, now. These servants of his certainly couldn't keep their covers today. Will lightly removed himself from the sofa as it was flying in the air toward Meia and landed safely on his feet. Will's eyes narrowed ever so slightly as he spotted Meia shapeshifting back into her fox form to avoid the furious sofa throwing tactic of the blonde female Hercules. The man would have attempted to distract Cora, but it had already been too late. After all, Meia's loud "YAOWLLLLLL!!!!!!!" had already shifted all attention to the two of them.

~Meia, you useless fox, the task was simple. Return at once before I hunt you down.~ Will telepathically scolded Meia as he strode back towards Myra and where Cora had been before she charged off like a girl fleeing from a serial killed. It was no wonder that Will usually assigned her to go with Cerbs or to stay in fox form because the kitsune simply couldn't help but randomly revert to the form of a fox.

"And good job, Myra. You just scared the living daylights out of your friend," he said sarcastically. As for Myra, she was easily aggravated these days. Meia and Myra certainly had interesting roundabouts when it came to Sebastian and Will. "You are going to have to explain much to her....better get her before she gets lost in the middle of nowhere. Cerbs."

The little puppy that Cora had just moment ago gushed over plopped down to the floor and grew in size until it was a bigger sized puppy, big enough to pick Cora up... he probably wouldn't count as a puppy then....

Cerbs scrambled over, chasing after Cora before the girl reached the door. "Mrrrr~" he purred playfully as he grabbed Cora by the collar and then brought her back to the sofa that she had been sitting on before.

"Cora..." Myra sat down by Cora and hugged her. "Sorry... that...Meia is a result of a lab experiment, and Will took her in...and... I might have been experimented on too....but I don't know for sure....."

Cora almost made to the door. She could see the orange light of sunset streaming in through the windows and her hands clasped around the handle just as something warm and wet touched the back of her neck and she screamed. "Put me down! I demand you put me down this instant!" Her feet were lifted from the floor and she flailed wildly to get loose. These people were crazy. They were crazy and were most defiantly not human.

Cora found herself deposited back on the couch. The couch that she just saw her friend and guardian throw half way across the room at a black haired girl who seemed to make a point of turning into a fox. Cora might have perhaps tried to run again, but Myra swooped down and hugged her. Cora went board still, afraid to move. "Bullshit" Cora muttered at the explanation. "That is complete bullshit and you know it!" Gaining a little confidence, Cora wiggled and tried to squirm out of Myra's grasp.

It was around that time that a certain fox came sulking back in. While she would never admit it to Will, the idea of him hunting her down made her shiver. She made that mistake once, she had no intention of doing it again. She trotted over to Cerbs and hid under him, ears flat against her fuzzy red head. "Oh just tell her the truth Myra. If your going to give her a story like experimentation, the truth isn't that much of a stretch. And frankly, it would be easier no?" Meia said with a obvious eye roll.

Cora's eyes moved from Myra, to the TALKING FOX, and back to Myra. "What truth? Myra? What's she talking about?"

As always, Bastion was at Cyrus's side. As royal advisor to the king, and general of his armies, Bastion felt himself to be king in all but name. Just how he liked it. Cyrus could be easily persuaded after all if he simply made his case strong enough.

The court session over, Bastion descended the raised platform after his master. Slinking out from the shadows of the throne. The tips of his golden wings dragging ever so slightly behind him. "It is quite troubling your majesty. This jester has so far alluded all attempts at capture." Bastion agreed solemnly. "I will double the patrol in the city until he is found."

They walked a while down the marble halls of the palace. "Sire...it is useless to try and understand the mind of a mad man. I would not be surprised if this jester is deranged or touched in the mind." Bastion did his best to sound grave. "As for the rebels…" the corner of his lips twitched into what could have been a smile for the briefest of seconds. "Shall I arrange for a raid of their known bases then Sire? All in the interest of catching this Jester of course." Any if a few rebels went down during the raid then all the better.

"Bullshit" Cora muttered at the explanation. "That is complete bullshit and you know it!"

Had Myra really been that terrible at lying? The golden haired woman frowned and hugged Cora as the girl tried to wiggle out and escape. "Cora...just...take a moment to listen... Will has already made preparations for dinner, so calm down."

But alas, it seemed further explanation on the experimental story provided would be useless. Cora didn't buy any of it. At that time, Meia foxy trotted back into the room and settled under Cerbs, who had shrank down in size to a size bigger than Meia but smaller than the overgrown puppy that had dragged Cora back. The dog panted, still with one head.

"Oh just tell her the truth Myra. If your going to give her a story like experimentation, the truth isn't that much of a stretch. And frankly, it would be easier no?", the foxy stated in an annoyed matter of fact eye rolling manner.

"What truth? Myra? What's she talking about?"

Cerbs pawed the fox on the head softly as if approving and as if asking if he could paw at Cora too. Without bothering to wait, he clamored onto the sofa next to Cora and shoved Myra aside so he could put his head on Cora's lap. "Cerbs!" Myra complained. And way to go Meia for talking in fox mode! "We...are not ...completely human." she admitted lamely.

In this time, the owner of the mansion had been rather silent and watching Myra's failure of an explanation. "The truth, hmm?" Before any of the other two could fumble up the explanation, Will answered. "They are demons, and we will not be having blood of virgins or any sort of that nonsense for dinner. "

"I will double the patrol in the city until he is found."

For some reason, Cyrus had the feeling this jester would simply enjoy it more if there were more guards patrolling. The regent had previously dealt with some madmen before, and they were challenged and even more excited by any increased attention they received. At the same time, were there no attention, some madmen would try to strive for more attention. Cyrus wasn't quite certain what type of madman this jester was. Perhaps, Bastion was correct in that he should not dwell too long on the mind of a madman.

"As for the rebels…Shall I arrange for a raid of their known bases then Sire? All in the interest of catching this Jester of course."

The Regent glanced at Bastion as they ambled down the marble halls. The particular portion they were at for the moment was actually a secret passage where he and Bastion could speak unhindered. "I assume the raid will be done by the patrol members? It would be too much of a sign if the patrol were doubled and the raids done by our other troops.

Those rebels just did not understand the state of the world. Cyrus was trying to unify the land so they could protect against the coming darkness. He had already felt the signs. His body could feel the urgency and the sensitivity of the earth. It was as if the earth was tense and hurt. Such was the burden of a regent connected to the earth and land.

As if to reinforce that notion, a small tremor shook the hallways. Cyrus felt it, but he wasnt sure if Bastion did. That tremor must have originated from far away. He wondered if it had come from one of the areas where they were trying to build the international road. There had been reports of a mysterious darkness.

"Did you feel that tremor? I fear the roadwork must progress more quickly."

"Demons?" Cora was getting the sense that she just walked into a very large and elaborate practical joke. Only problem was…as much as her mind was scrambling for some rational explanation, she had nothing. Nothing could explain the talking fox, or the transformation that happened right before her eyes. There were no wires attached to the couch to explain how Myra had tossed it so easily. The puppy, who was a tiny little thing when she walked in, had just happened to quadruple in size at a moment's notice and had picked her up and carried her across the room. Nope, she had nothing.

Before anything else could possibly happen, Cora pushed herself off the couch and put a good several feet of distance between her and everyone else. "We, are going to go sit down for dinner. And you," Cora looked directly at Myra, "Are going to tell me the whole truth from beginning to end. And if you so much as try to lie to me again, I will steal your car and drive myself home. And you," Cora directed her attention to Will, "Will tell me if she is telling the truth. And…please tell me this dinner comes with wine?"

~~~
It was a small tremor. The faintest of quivering through Bastion's golden wings. "The world is ill at ease your Majesty. Perhaps it could be….no….perhaps I shouldn't say." Bastion had the good sense to look conflicted. He had many roles as advisor, chief among them to act as a filter for the King. There were many things happening throughout the world. It was Bastion's responsibility, and utmost delight, to cherry pick what the King needed to hear. "I will send word to the builders to double their speed."
A moment of silence. Bastion brought one wing forward, wrapping around the back of the throne. He still looked conflicted, and leaned down a little to speak of things in a more hushed tone. A….sensitive subject. "Your Majesty…I received word today from our Earthen scouts. They believe that they have located the guardians. Shall I order them to approach the Guardians? It would be helpful to have them on our side no? Our world…it would be so much more stable with them on our side would it not? We could bring them here. And show them just how….generous and righteous of a King you are. Your majesty." Bastion smiled softly. His eyes glittered, "Also…there has been word about your sister…" Bastion down casted his eyes, fixing on a point on the marble floor, "I'm afraid to say…there is some evidence that parts of her memory is returning. Images, dreams. She may…soon remember who she is, and try to return your Majesty."
~~~

As the sun was setting, the candles glowed like so many stars among the students and faculty. There was the sort of hushed silence that seemed to linger around the remembrance of tragedy. She looked out at the gathering crowd, and noted someone familiar had just arrived. "Professor Orion? Sorry but would you excuse me for a moment…" She walked past him, shifting through the people until she reached Genya.

"Hey." Seeing him, she was suddenly remembering that her back was covered in burns and that it was supposed to hurt. It did a little, in a dull throbbing kind of way. "How are you doing?" His cheeks were beat red. Like he was embarrassed to be there. She couldn't imagine why. "Ah…I just wanted to say thanks for earlier. The doctors said I could have ended up in the hospital for a couple weeks if the burns on my back had any time to do real damage."

Oh, now they had done it. Myra couldn't just let Cora take the car and leave. She smiled sheepishly as Will responded to Cora with a smile and a nod, remarking that wine would be in abundance and that Cora could make a request for a certain type of wine if she wished to do so. The golden haired woman wiped the sheepish smile off his mouth as she tried to figure out how to explain the situation. Not telling her all the details would be a lie, right?

They were ushered into the elaborate dining room, which happened to have very comfy chairs. Myra had almost forgotten how comfortable the chairs were while she was away with Cora, but this was a gentle reminder. Myra hoped Cora would be partially soothed by the comfiness of the chair and decide not to bolt for the door and drive away like a car thief.

Cora, Will, Myra, and Meia were seated, and Cerbs was back to being a smaller puppy size. The puppy was dragged to another room, presumably so he wouldn't wolf down everyone's food as was his habit.

With a small gulp, Myra began, hoping what she said would be reasonable. Maybe the salad being served as appetizer would serve as a distraction. "Yes... Meia and I are demons, and Cerbs is too...although he's really just a dog that changes sizes. Meia is... a little fox, and I'm just the most human looking one with greater strength than usual. I was assigned to protect you from other demons....but we are still friends, right? D:"

-----

Cyrus nodded as his ever so faithful advisor reassured him that the griffin would pass on the orders to quicken the construction of the roads. Cyrus's hope was that the road would link the entire land, so it would not be possible for an isolated region to be subdued by darkness without anyone noticing and with no way to reach there.

The regent felt a slight breeze as Bastion's wing wrapped around the back of the throne. Even though he didn't realize it, he had to come to depend on Bastion more and more throughout these years and attempting to suppress his emotions on how he and his sister had fatefully parted.

Bastion's hushed voice just had to bring back a reminder of what had happened in the past. It seemed that Bastion was worried about her. "She is my sister. She will honor our agreement. I doubt she would return that easily if she regains her memory ....for her own sake." She couldn't come back now. Cyrus strongly believed it was safer for his sister and their world for his sister to remain on Earth.

As for the guardians, Bastion was right. "Approaching the guardians seems to be a wise choice especially in our current predicament, but... how much training have they had?" Probably not enough if they were on Earth.

Genya had just been trying to blend in with the crowd and had no idea that his face was beet red. However, his moment of pensive embarrassment ended or perhaps lengthened when someone tapped him on the shoulder. It was that girl! "...you're..welcome," Genya stuttered. "I'm..fine." Yeah, because the whole fire was probably his fault because things went kaboom when he lit the Bunsen burner.

Oh....his nose was itchy from embarrassment now. "I'm g..lad you're fin-----" ACHOO! Genya's eyes closed instinctively as he sneezed because Scythe was being lazy.

The candle lights in the vigil around Genya and Andi suddenly seemed to get brighter and larger until they were engulfed by light and the sensation of them falling. When the light faded away again, they were still falling until....BAM!

"Ow! What kind of manner is th---they just fell on us! This is obstruction of justice!"

Genya and Andi had in fact landed on a bunch of patrol officers in a town in OtherWorld while ethey were pursuing a certain jester.

Cora sat back in her chair and sipped her wine while Myra blundered through some form of explanation. It was a white wine, paired by one of Will's staff perfectly with the salad. She twirled a lock of her red gold hair around her finger, shrewd and narrowed eyes taking in what Myra had to say. While Cora had no idea of the significance, she looked very much like a girl of royal blood in that moment, silently considering all information presented before taking any action.

When Myra was done, Cora looked first to Will. Simply to see if he wanted to deny anything that Myra had said. He hadn't. So…that was the truth of it was it? Cora's oldest friend, and the only family like figure she had, was a demon. As was Meia. And Cerbs. What did that make Will? She suspected he was another one. Either that or a human who must have had an extremely interesting life story.

Very slowly, with not even the hint of tremor in her hands, Cora set down her wine glass, and dabbed the napkin in the corners of her lips. And only then, did she look very deliberately up at Myra. "Who assigned you? And who are these other demons? And….why would anyone want to hurt me anyway?" She asked as smoothly as one might have been talking about the weather.

Cora picked up the wine glass, taking another long sip that damn near drained the glass. Quite the feat for someone who hardly ever drank. Unless you counted her and Myra's tradition of having margaritas and movie marathons. She put the glass back down, "Myra…why did you never tell me any of this before? Sure you insist that I know self-defence, and you make me spar with you all the time. I'm the only person I know who can wield a sword like a medieval knight. But why….in the name of…of….Loki…didn't you ever mention, "Oh by the way Cora, I'm a demon and there are other demons out there who might want to hurt you." Didn't you ever think that might have been useful information if these other demons ever showed up?" Cora crossed her arms. She ruffed a sigh and sat in a very tense silent for several seconds.

Finally she drained the rest of the wine. "We can still be friends. Afterall, I can't just throw you out of the apartment. But! Only if you promise to be honest with me from now on. No more secrets." Cora picked up her fork, "Also, I want you to make me your brownies."

~~~
Bastion bowed his head, "Such a wise and trusting King. I am certain you are right." Bastion had several different opinions about the banished Princess. But alas. It was not his place to order an attack on the girl. Especially while she was being so well behaved in her purgatory. He sighed softly.
"As for the guardians…the scouts merely detected their pressence. It is hard to say, as of yet, if they have had any training." Earth was such a wild and uncivilized land after all. A world without magic, it was practically barbaric. Having to rely on any number of machines to do what Bastion could have done just by blinking. "It is possible, My King, that they are not even aware."
~~~

Andi found herself somehow, sprawled out on top of Genya. Not to mention, sore and rather disoriented how she got from standing among a crowd of people to….lying in the dirt. Maybe she should have taken the doctor's advice to stay home.

"Ow! What kind of manner is th---they just fell on us! This is obstruction of justice!"

Eyes widening, Andi scrambled up, likely kneeing Genya in several places in the process, jumping to her feet. By default, a string of apologies and mixed curses sprang out of her mouth in Italian. But after a second of this, and seeing the confused face of the strangers they fell on top of, she switched to English. "Ah….Sorry about that. We were just…." She stopped, and looked around. Wait, this didn't look anything like the university. Not to mention, these officers were dressed funny. And had horses? And they weren't even RCMP at that. Military? No that wasn't it. "Is this a…war reenactment or something?" That was really something that happened more in places like North Carolina. But she supposed that here in southern Ontario they did have the war of 1812 to brag about.

Andromeda made a couple quick steps back, helping Genya to his feet in the process and dragging him back with her. "We're so sorry about falling on you. We were in that fire earlier and….I guess we're still suffering from some smoke inhalation. We'll just….ah….be heading back now." Andromeda paused, and looked around again. "Um….do you know which way the university is?"

Myra watched Cora carefully, wondering if Cora was slowly regaining her memory. After all, the princess had been drawing that conceited griffin idiot earlier at the university, and she had just mentioned Loki. Honestly, Myra was just hoping Cora wouldn't completely flip out, but there she was...pensively thinking silently about what she had just heard from Myra. She certainly kept her composure as most of the royals did back in the Other World. Cora was a royal, but Myra couldn't just tell her that right now.

The servants cleared the empty salad plates as everyone finished and brought out the next course. Myra sighed as she answered Cora. "Well....maybe assigned was the wrong word. I'm your best friend and body guard and your only family here. I've been taking care of you." Myra glanced sideways at Will for a moment before continuing. "They don't like you for some reason." She shook her head as Cora downed the wine. "Well, I've been trying to figure out when to tell you, but we were safe, so you could enjoy living a normal life for a while longer...uh...Cora...don't drink too much."

Meia was probably finding this funny because Myra had to explain all this stuff now. The blonde heaved a sigh of relief when Cora stated they could still be friends. Brownies she could handle! Meia better not crack a joke now. "I'll make the bestest brownies when we get back :3"

---
Untrained Guardians. Wonderful. They would to train them to make them useless. "Right... the books say that even their presence is a sort of balancing factor. They shouldn't been on Earth." The Regent sighed. But they had been as detected by the spies. The Guardians had mysteriously disappeared years ago as well. "Let's bring the guardians home."

~~~
Genya was still recovering from his sneeze when they landed on people and then fell hard on the ground. "Ow!" And then he was kneed and hit more. It hurt so much. "Wahhhh" Hurt Genya so much he started crying.
"What sorcery is this?" demanded a certain white haired caped knight as random gibberish spewed out from the strangely dressed male. There were two strange males. A crying blonde one and this one spewing gibberish. "War reenactment? Heavens no! What witchery is this? Has that evil jester summoned you as creatures of destruction? They look human! We shall not be distracted by crying demons!" The other guards had encircled Andi and Genya by now.
Genya continued to sob in pain, looking up around him and Andi to see a bunch of unfamiliar people and surroundings. Andi, in the meantime, was explaining about the fire and asking about a university. Basically, Genya was being useless.
Andi was met with piercing blue eyes and a bespectacled face. "What university? What sort of demonspeak is this? Arrest them for obstructing and aiding in the escape of that demon jester!"
Myra's explanation was opening up more questions in Cora's mind. As the second course was served, Cora reached for the newly poured wine. This time a red. First and foremost in Cora's mind was Myra's wording. Only family here? Was that too mean…she had family somewhere else? But Myra had always said….but then again Myra had also let Cora assume that she was human. There was also that nagging question of why Cora would need a demon bodyguard. In the years she had known Myra, nothing ever happened. Nothing suspicious or malicious in her life at all. But of all this, Cora merely said nothing. Those were conversations to have at home. Cora didn't feel right brining up her lack of family among strangers. Cora drained a little more of the wine glass. A normal life. Would she still have that now? She didn't want things to change between her and Myra. Myra was right about one thing. They were best friends.
When Myra felt the need to bring up Cora's drinking, she tilted the glass back in defiance and drained what was left. "Yes Mom." She murmured once it was gone. She was vaguely aware that everything felt warm and fuzzy all of a sudden. Maybe….she should slow down. She ate a little, and sipped at the recently untouched water glass. When ready, she turned to Will again, and nodded her head slightly, "Thank you for having us for supper. I know it was rather…sudden. And…a little…chaotic. But thank you." She told him. Firmly wanting to not talk about demons or anything else of that nature until her and Myra were back at home.
~~~

"Witchery? No Sir. We were just at the vigil. We must have….left the group and gotten a little lost." Andromeda spoke in a tone that was quickly increasing with panic and speed. With the officers approaching them from all sides now, she started moving back, pulling the wailing Genya with her. Though….Two steps and she felt something very hard and sharp poking into her back. She thought it best not to move anymore. "We're just lost. That's all. We don't know any jester I promise. Though if you describe him perhaps we can keep an eye out for him- Argh!" One of the soldier people grabbed her wrist and twisted it sharply behind her back. The other joined it, and a length of coarse rope bound her wrists. The hell was this?! What kind of officers used rope?! A lead of rope was added to her wrists, the end tied to the pommel of one of the saddles.

"The university of Waterloo! It's just near here. We didn't aid and obstruct anything. We're just lost! And that wasn't demon speak. It was Italian. You know… Leonardo da Vinci. Pasta. Venice. Per favore." She struggled with the ropes, her fingers slipping over the tight knots. "Wh-who are you? Really you don't need to arrest us. We don't know anything about a Jester. Please. We're just lost honest…"

Myra hadn't meant to purposely say "only family here", but it had slipped out unintentionally. She really meant that she was the only one in the group of weirdos at Will's, who was family to Cora. Alas, she didn't predict Cora interpreting it otherwise.

Myra glanced sideways at Cora when the girl muttered "Yes mom". Sure, she was like a babysitter to Cora, but Cora never called her mom unless it was a joke or if the princess was annoyed. She sighed. Myra just didn't want Cora to get a terrible hangover after experiencing the events at the mansion. The rest of dinner concluded eventlessly with Cora thanking Will and them leaving, but not without a box of cheesecake since they did not stay for dessert.

Will had left Myra with a parting "gift", a small travel size make up kit, to which Myra made cutesy faces at, before hugging Will so hard he had fallen over and made faces at Cora. How he knew of her wanting another one to replace the one she had lost from a certain fire earlier was a mystery. Anyhow, the gift had put Myra in a happier mood after the somber day, where she and Meia had majorly fubared in front of Cora and revealed the existence of demons.

And then, Myra and Cora had left with Myra driving. They were rather silent for part of the ride, and as they reached near midpoint of the trip, Myra decided to break the silence. "Hey, pumpkin... you could always have some cheesecake on the ride to sweeten up your mood," Myra offered with a smile as she drove.

Little did Myra know that something low in the air close to the ground was rocketing toward the car and would impact them shortly, sending the car flying.

--------

Genya was really trying to suppress his sobs, and while he was succeeding partially, it still wasn't working very well. The sobbing increased again when he was bound and tied up. "Wah... why..what's going on?"

Meanwhile, the dashing white haired caped man heard Andi out, but of course, he didn't appear to believe Andi. Neither did the others since they tied Andi and Genya up. Le Kraz Carlton glanced at the sobbing Genya and then turned back to Andi. "Hmph. Lost, hmm? Waterloo ? Now, that is just popcockery! There is no university of Waterloo around here. Our culprits are rather smart, making up names. Now, next they will say their clothes are from Waterloo." He edged his head closer to Andi as if to inspect her further. Nope, the Otherworld had no knowledge of the language named Italian. It was not a language spoken in the OtherWorld. "A spell? No spell will save you."

And then Genya noticed the spears. His eyes seemed to brighten a little, tears stopping for a moment. "Are those.." he tried to touch one with his roped hands, but was met with a poke from a spear! "They're real!...like in the museum!"

Upon hearing Genya, Kraz blinked. "Real?"

And then Genya was off, cutting off everyone else and getting lost in his own world. "Oh, my! Were the factors for those quantum mechanics and time dilation present? But how? Everyone was still at the candlelight vigil! Perhaps, there was an invisible coagulation of forces, which created a rupture in the space time continuum and brought is here! But why just us? Perhaps, it was the fire! No, that doesn't seem to make sense. More experimentation and data... however, time travel? These clothes are medieval and -----" Genya's sobbing had stopped as he continued gushing about the science of spears and how wormholes sometimes existed int he universe and that maybe they were in another universe. Of course, all this talk was way over Kraz and the soldiers' heads. Perhaps, Andi was going to have to translate.

Cora didn't mind the silence that filled the car on the ride back. She stared out at the Toronto skyline, watching the buildings twinkle like so many stars. They took the back roads home, driving out into the farm country. Cora was taking all of this new information…relatively well. It felt true. Somehow, but she couldn't explain it. Like some part of her always knew that Myra wasn't altogether human. Something…..other. Cora wanted to talk, wanted to ask so many questions. And yet, she didn't. Just demons was enough for now, and it wasn't as if Myra was going anywhere. She was really the only family Cora had. There was time. And Cora didn't know how much she wanted to know just at that moment.

They were about midway back when the first words were spoken. Cora tore her eyes from the skyline and looked down at the cheesecake in her lap. "Mmm….maybe." It did look good. And it would give her something to do to avoid talking for a little longer. At least until they got home. But, Cora would never get to have the cheesecake.

There was a loud explosion and the car flipped in the air. Cora didn't have time to scream. Didn't have time to even so much as be frightened as she was thrown from the car into the fields. There was the sound of howls and whoops as Cora tried to sit up. There were five of them. In the semi darkness all Cora could see was silhouettes against the fire and car head lights.

Cora hobbled to her feet, feeling comfortably numb from the amount of adrenaline pumping through her veins. She started toward the car. Myra. Where was Myra.

"Did anyone see where the succubus's body landed?! Save the Princess. Her guard will be our challenge."

Cora listened like they were talking about someone else. They were all facing away, and didn't notice her make it up to the car. "Myra! Myra!" Cora hissed in the dark. The flipped car was utterly destroyed. Her sword…it was here somewhere. Myra always made her keep it in the trunk. Where was it…

"The Princess!"

All five of the beings turned on her after one had noticed her presence. She realized, up close, they weren't altogether completely human. Not all of them at least. Cora jumped out of the way as one made to grab her. But where one failed, another succeeded.

"Your Brother sends his regards Princess."

And Cora felt a knife pressed to her throat.

CRASH! BOOM! And then all went spiral-y.

....really? Maybe we should have made faster time. Damn Will for living so far int he middle of nowhere! The fact that the car flipped over meant it was no ordinary situation, and they couldn't just find a random car to borrow in the middle of nowhere.

Myra hadn't flown as far as Cora mainly because she was more snuggly stuck under the car steering wheel than Cora had been. In fact, she had been stuck with the car the whole time. She had raised the hood but not fast enough to stop Cora from flying out. The partially raised hood had helped her from not being immediately crushed though.

And then there were the howls and whoops. Myra groaned as she began to crawl out slowly from the car, trying not to resist launching the car into the air out of annoyance. Where was Cora? She wasn't in the car...what were those other voices?

"Myra! Myra!"

She was close! But before Myra could reply, the others had arrived. Myra heard the mention of "Princess" as well as the regards from Cora's brother. ........ really? Why now?!!! The Other World had decided to meddle in peaceful life. Was it because she and Meia had revealed the existence of demons? No way. Will's place was safe, and he wouldn't...right?

Myra fumed. Cora was on the other side of the car, and she was now finally out of the car. She peeked under the car, through where she had just crawled, trying to get a view of who was there. She saw....six pairs of feet. Luckily, Myra had better vision than usual folk in the dark. And so, Myra fumed more. Five people other than Myra. They made themselves blatantly obvious and weren't even hiding their employer information. She could already tell from their auras and scents that they weren't quite human. Perhaps, even a demon was mixed in there.

The golden haired demon sighed and then smirked. Well...might as well. Her clothes were already dirtied from the explosion and the flipping car. She quickly removed her jacket. Underneath was a sleeveless and rather revealing blouse. Around her neck was a slightly singed scarf. Standing up, the succubus strutted out from behind the car into full view of the assassins and Cora. "Did you forget about me?" she asked, batting her eyelashes as she flipped one end of her scarf behind her, took it off and twirled it, revealing much more than Scyther and Greenie really want to see. Myra Bagarth may have been in a car accident, but she still looked darn hot and could stop others in their tracks.

If they were any other situation, Cora would have facepalmed. But as it was, she took Myra's strip tease (and her captors sudden slack in his grip) as her chance. She kicked her captor hard in the shin, and spun out of his grip. Cora ran straight for Myra, and didn't stop until she was behind her. "Myra….we need to have another chat when we get home." Cora breathed. "But for now….can you hold them off while I get the swords out of the trunk?"

Having only know Myra was a demon for all of….a few hours. Cora wasn't quite sure of her capabilities. Though strength and a uncanny skill for distraction seemed to be a part of it.

"Yes." Myra agreed standing her ground in the most provocative sense ever.

Cora nodded and sprinted for the car. She crawled into the driver's side, grabbed the keys, and hit the button to pop the trunk. There was a dull metallic click, and Cora could only prey to whatever deity was bothering to listen that the trunk would be able to swing open enough to get the swords out.

There wasn't. Not at all. The thing would not budge. So instead Cora climbed back in the car and into the backseat. Pulling them down, she finally got into the trunk that was. Both swords were there. Cora's needle like rapier in it's sheaf, and Myra's massive claymore. Cora slid her own into her belt, and pulled the heavy claymore out of the car. She couldn't actually lift Myra's sword, but rather let the blade drag across the ground, digging a crater into the soil. Who knows, maybe it would sharpen it.

"Got it!" Cora called out to her friend and guard. Dropping the claymore just behind Myra, Cora pulled out her own sword and held it towards the would be assassins.

"We can't go back pumpkin." Myra warned.

"What? Of course we can. Just take care of…of…whatever they are. And then we can go home." The spell that held the assassins in place for this long was starting to break, and they were shaking their head in a dazed awaking. "Come on!" And before Myra could explain, Cora lunged at one of the assassins and used everything Myra had ever taught her to keep him from killing her.

Myra's display worked, as usual; Cora was free. The men were usually got off guard more than the women, but the women were sometimes flabbergasted by the sheer random posing so much so that they would just be caught off guard because they were laughing.

Cora took the time to get the trunk open and retrieve their swords while Myra continued to mesmerize their attackers. The effect was starting to fade, and Myra wasn't about to just strip down and be naked because Greenie, Cora, and Scyther would complain. The blonde succubus simply smiled sweetly as she lifted her foot slightly and backwards in preparation to kick a mass of earth at their attackers, which would likely just scatter and obscure everyone's view. Cora was taking her sweet time...but the girl was doing the best she could. The sound of Myra's claymore grinding against the dirt as it was being dragged out certainly brought everyone's attention back to reality.

"Got it!"

"About time~" Myra hummed as their assailants charged again. Her foot dug into the ground and sent up a torrent of dirt into the air as she quickly used grabbed the heavy claymore behind her. Before she could answer Cora's second question or any question at all, the princess charged to attack one of the assassins. The succubus launched herself at the closest assassin ...or rather just swung her sword through the flying dirt, using it to hopefully connect with one of the assassins. Luck was with her. One dumb inattentive assassin down in one fell swoop.

And so there were four. Cora was holding her own against one of them, and so Myra would try to deal with the others.

Unfortunately, it seemed that two assassins went toward her, and the third headed toward Cora and the fourth assassin. Great. If they caught Cora again, Myra was going to throw an even bigger fit. "You ruined my car..... and my new make up!?" Myra growled.

Apparently, the assassins hadn't really done their research. None of the assassins were physically stronger than Myra, or whoever sent them hat just been an idiot. Yet, they were able to "shock" Myra and get her to drop her claymore and cut her although not well enough to incapacitate her. "Hey!" Unfortunately for the first assassin, Myra's reflexive action was to kick and send the first assassin flying into the air like Team Rocket blasting off again.

And so there were three.

"Soo.....are you going to get me new make up?" Myra asked the second assassin with a tone so sickly sweet like pure honey that it could only be foreboding. Angry Myras were bad news even to houses. "No?" ....and so Myra and the second assassin skirmished as she tried to edge closer to Cora. That skirmish lasted as long as the second assassin dodged Myra because the moment the succubus landed a hit, the assassin made a nice deep hole in the ground.

And so there were two.

The third assassin who had reached Cora had decided to attack from the air. This one seemed more versed in magic and was staying in the air so he was safe from Cora's slashes. This assassin seemed to be casting shield buffs on the fourth assassin who Cora was fighting. The fourth assassin was stronger than Cora, but Cora seemed more nimble. He was pushing her back and trying to corner her against ....the flipped car?

Myra, in an attempt to distract this third assassin, retrieved her claymore and let out a most random battle cry and charged. "You knoooow I CAN FLY TOO! CORA, KICK EM WHERE THE SUN DUN SHINE!"

Whether or not Myra was serious, Cora took the battle cry to heart. The second the assassin on her was distracted by Myra, she kicked him as hard as she could between the legs. The assassin fell in a bundled heap, clutching at himself as if fearful that they would never descend again. The last one was high in the air. He too was distracted by Myra, trapped in sword to spell combat with her. He kept casting up a shield. And while Myra was chipping away at it, Cora didn't know if it would be fast enough to get him down before the others started to rise to another attack.

"MYRA DUCK!" In a sheer act of desperation, Cora threw her sword at the assassin in the air. Thankfully there was no shield on his back, and it pieced through his torso. He fell right next to the other, writhing in pain as the blood seeped between his fingers.

There was no time to think. No time to consider that she had likely just killed someone. Cora pulled her sword out and grabbed Myra by the hand. "Come on Myra! You need to flip the car over. We need to get out of here."

They reached the car, and Cora let go of Myra's hand. "You flip the car. I got your back. And we'll go home. And….and…." A quaver started in Cora's voice as the adrenaline in her veins was depleting. "Hurry Myra. Hurry."

Andromeda had never been quite so confused in her entire life. The ropes were tight at her wrists. And while they could be easily cut…these knight guys all must have been top level boy scouts. She had to hand it to them. They knew their knots.

That did not however help that they were more or less being kidnapped by a poetic madman. "W-well my Dad bought this jacket for me in Milan actually. For getting into university. He said…he said most girls liked to have to brag about some designer piece of clothing or another. But the rest….yeah. Waterloo." Andi realized she was starting to babble but honestly she was running out of ideas. She really DIDN'T want to be kidnapped right about now. Or ever for that matter.

And then Genya was piping up beside her. Andi stood open mouthed for a second. Was he really for real? How did he go so fast from crying to…..this? Though….while he kept on, the gears in her own mind started to turn. "No wait you could be on to something there. What if the fire….what is the smoke from the fire acted as a chemical catalyst. There was a high pressure system heading towards waterloo, maybe it got here early and…. Do you think the cloud static of an imminent thunderstorm would be enough energy for that sort of reaction?"

((Myra and Cora related stuffs))

The shield buffing assassin that Myra was currently in combat with was annoying her because it almost seemed as if he was justing for her to wear herself out. It was a battle of physical strength versus mental magical strength. Too bad the assassin would never find out who would be bested.

"MYRA DUCK!"

And bam. There went the magically inclined assassin, who dropped like a bomb to the earth. Good Cora! Myra landed, ignoring the writhing assassin. The succubus didn't really care if the man lived or died. Cora was alive, and that was all that mattered.

"Come on Myra! You need to flip the car over. We need to get out of here." Before Myra could compliment Cora on ...erm.. surviving, her younger charge had already grabbed her and dragged her to their overturned car, requesting her to flip the car.

And so, Myra flipped the car over again, but she was highly doubtful that it would work. It seemed a bit burnt, although thankfully the car hadn't exploded for some reason. "....I'm not sure if this is going to run." The urgency was evident in Cora's voice. The blonde looked toward the assassins that were still in the vicinity. The one that she had slammed into the ground was crawling out. Then, there was the other one that Cora had been fighting. The magically inclined one was still twitching.

The key to the car was still in the ignition, and Myra turned it in hopes of it working. Unfortunately, the car wouldn't start. They were in the middle of nowhere. She looked at Cora. Could she fly them both out of there fast enough? They were probably about in between "home" and Will's place. But. "Cora, grab what you can from the trunk. Quickly!" Seriously, it was sheer luck that most of their stuff was intact. Unfortunately, it wasn't as if there was much stuff there because they had simply traveled to Will's for a visit.

Flying in the dark was going to have to be it, and they'd have to be quick. Myra was sure she could take down the two assassins, but she frowned when she saw the assassin she had launched into the air like a rocket with her foot. How was he back so quickly?

The succubus grabbed Cora. "Don't be scared. We're going to fly!" Fly to where? No idea. Home was not really an option, and they couldn't just head toward that mansion again, right? Her wings spread, but as Myra's toes began to lift from the ground, a magical circle appeared underneath her and Cora. Dark green bindings roped around Myra's legs and snaked up to grab her wings. "As if..." The princess's guardian tried to use her usual brute strength to tear away, but it seemed that there were some extra magical qualities that prevented that from happening. Myra's face held a determined look, but Cora was probably going to realize that they weren't escaping. ...that stupid mage is still alive...... should have killed him

That left only one option...unless someone came to help them. The last resort charm on Myra's necklace. The charm would disappear if used, but it would take them to the Otherworld...with no prediction of where they would end up.

~~~
Meanwhile, back in the mansion that Cora and Myra had only left not that long ago...
"Hmm.... our succubus friend seems to be in a bind. Foxy, go burn some of those vines before she starts launching bodies through the roof. " There had been been enough damage to the mansion lately, and Will wasn't going to have any more of that for the day. He knew how far Myra could throw/kick. The blonde gestured toward the mirror, which showed the scene of Myra and Cora's situation. "Go. Into the mirror. Be discrete and return immediately." He failed to mention anything on how the fox was to get back to the mansion.
((Otherworld - Alphie's place - hey, you picked where they going to land. ))
Next to a small lush forest, there was a small quaint village with several wooden buildings. In one of these buildings resided a man by the name of Alphonso. The inside of this dwelling was particularly simply and plain with minimal decorations. The man lived simple and was in the middle of sharpening a knife...
This quaint village, however, was not yet linked to the grand interlinking road that Cyrus desired built to connect everyone in the world. But in between where the current closet connection to that road and the village was a small well dark space. The road would have to go around that, if it were built, unless the dark space could be removed. But..the dark space had slowly, but surely been inching wider...
((Greenie, you can trigger the teleports or Meia it or both. Either way, they prob be porting! Leaving ya options! smile Feel free to make up details about the village and Alphie's place. All I know is that his place is simple. I will do Genya in some other post.))
