Just in and out of portals. How long had they been doing this for? Hel had no idea, but it honestly felt too long now. Her frustration was rising.

She appeared back in the stone circle of portals, and right when she was about to open her mouth, a rumble starting to sound, and soon the whole area was shaking. "What the--"

Some of the stones of the formation sunk into the ground, and along with them, the extra portals disappearing too. Stone after stone continued to sink into the ground until there were only two large stones with portals left. Hel blinked and stared.

Did...it feel sorry for them?

Ugh. Pity. The worst.

This was getting slightly ridiculous. Shun closed his good eye, then stepped through another portal. He felt the now familiar sensation of cold. And then.. more cold. He opened his eye and looked around. He wasn't being spit back out.

"..."

Either the portal was broken or he found the one.

"I think he did it..?" Kettil wandered to the portal that Shun had disappeared into and didn't return from. Hopefully it didn't mean that Shun had gotten devoured by some weird portal beast.

"You did it! Good job...!" ... Now if only Shun had found a sunny beach instead.

Oh well. Hel could forget being mocked by the stones if it meant getting them to where they needed to go. She stared intently as Shun stepped through a portal and didn't come back out, and then Kettil went too. "Well alright then!" Hel ran through the portal, and upon reaching the other side was knee deep in snow. Before her was the cavern sunken in...snow.

Yep...her toes and fingers were definitely starting to go numb.

"Well..." Hel looked over at Shun, managing a grin now that progress was being made. "Beats swimming, ya?" That being said, she waded through the snow, it getting deeper as she made her way closer to the cavern. Hel then started to just shovel snow out of the way as furiously as she could, and deeper and deeper down did the reaper go until--

"ACK!" POOF!

Hel disappeared from sight down a hole, and when one peered down the hole, it was lined in a brilliant light blue.

It was ice.

Quote:

Hel fell down.

You have 2 options...you can go back or go down the hole too.

If you go back home you get warm and probably enjoy a nice hot cup of tea and / or hot choclate.

If you choose to follow Hel you're getting colder...and you're taking a ride on an ice slide! You shoot down it really fast and it does flips and stuff too!

Shun huffed out a frosty breath at Kettil's comment. As Hel said, they at least were not swimming. He would be in considerable trouble if that were the case. Shaking his head, he began to walk after the valkyrie... but then she suddenly vanished.

As far as he knew, Hel didn't have any stealth or teleportation abilities. It didn't take him long to see the hole she had fallen through, however.

"Kuso.." he hissed lightly, then glanced to the Muut with him.

"Might as bloody damn well," he grumbled before jumping down. The next thing he knew was that he was now sliding down really fast on a large thing of ice. He gritted his teeth and pulled his arms in towards his chest lest his limbs end up smacking something really hard on the way down.

Then there was one. He peered where Hel and Shun disappeared to and then just shrugged.

He wasn't done with this adventure yet! Thus Kettil jumped his happy frozen a** down where the other two had disappeared to, "Could be worse~!"

Quote:

After your speedy ride down...

You land in even more snow!

Luckily it's soft and makes for a good cushion.

You're now in a huge domed space. Think the size of a foot ball stadium. Ice and rock make a for a domed top, and it's snowing in this large space, despite the fact that it's enclosed. In the center appears to be a stone spire that's glowing, which is great, because that's probably where the artifact is. The problem? It's surrounded by hundreds of wooden viking long boats buried vertically up in the snow.

While Hel had landed face down in the snow with her feet sticking up, by the time her companions joined her she had already righted herself and was staring ahead. "Damn." She breathed, just staring. Upon the arrival of Shun and Kettil, she pointed. "Look at that! Crazy, ya!?" She looked back towards the glowing stone spire.

She wasn't sure how'd they get through that wall of viking ships...

The reaper started to wade her way through the snow, but tripped and ended up falling face first, disappearing into the white again. "ACK!" The reaper popped back up, and growled. "What that--" She dug around in the snow until she grasped something and--

Hel pulled out a ridiculously large viking oriented sword that she needed to wield with two hands (size reference). "WOAH!" She exclaimed, her voice echoing and making some snow from the top of the dome fall on her. "IS THIS NOT AWESOME!?" The reaper was too in awe over the sword but upon further examination beyond her...weapons lay half buried in the snow. A whole slew of them. "Maybe we can use this to break through the ships!?"

Quote:
Sure why not:
You're busting your way through with good ol' fashion violence! There's a few different weapons to choose from:

An axe
A sword
A hammer

Pick whatever you want! It's ridiculously large and requires you to wield it with both hands! You're smashing your way through the viking long ships to get to the stone spire in the middle.

The viking ship wall has HP of 900 / 900

You're new weapon has a modifier of 2d100s - 50

Keep track of the HP, have fun, and watch out for splinters

Shun scrambled back up to his feet after landing on the thick blanket of snow. It cushioned things rather well, but he was feeling pretty chilled now. Once he was able to, he stared up and around to where they were exactly. The wall of ships was certainly impressive, if not somewhat befuddling. However, his attention was soon grabbed as Hel picked up a rather large blade. There were other oversized weapons on the ground.

"I suppose so..."

He personally would much rather use his own blades, but he couldn't deny that his daggers weren't exactly meant for breaking down giant a** walls. The sword he picked up was incredibly unwieldy and cumbersome, not at all like his personal weapons.

"This is bloody impractical."

It was lucky that Shun didn't linger too long at the bottom because soon Kettil was there. He took a moment longer to adjust to the fact that he had finally landed before he got up and brushed himself off, after all he was the last one down the hole...

He peered behind himself suspiciously just in case.

"I think I'mma have a bruise on my backside in the mornin'," Kettil drawled ad he rubbed at his lower back. Hel's new toy caught his attention, "AHHH! YEAH!"

It didn't take him long before he found himself a nice large hammer to and suddenly took to smashing things to bit, "PRETTY STURDY!"

"You mean BLOODY AWESOME!" Hel cried, swinging the oversized sword around in an arc and feeling the satisfaction as it blasted through some wood, showering herself in wood bits. She even forgot it was cold out!

"No worse than the bruises my sister leaves I am certain." Hel sneered at Kettil with a smirk.

Hel and Kettil were very enthusiastic.

Shun was not. With a grunt, he hoisted the heavy blade up and sent it smashing down onto the wall. The strike was nothing to scoff at, but it still felt so damn unrefined and uncontrolled.

"Bloody awesome is right! It is a good work out and..Annnnddd... A good way to work through aggression."

HINT HINT.

Not really. Kettil was jabbering with no real thought or intent and it showed as he kept swinging the hammer about. He paused only long enough to consider Hel's words and just smiled, "Fun bruises are the best bruises."

Hel grinned at Kettil's words. "Ya...they are...but the best bruises are those that you also leave upon your enemies in battle!" The reaper exclaimed, and swung her heavy weapon hard, practically exploding a hole into a ship which continued to clear the way through. "We are getting there!" She cheered, and looked over at Shun.

"How are you holding up, Mister stealth tactical?"

"Holding."

Shun had nothing more to say on the matter as he begrudgingly swung the oversized sword at the wall, sending more splinters flying out in all directions.

"As long as they aren't bruises given to me by the enemy!" Kettil agreed with a smirk and took another couple of swings.

He was only a little sad that he couldn't take a little time to admire the actual handiwork but it was smash or be smashed (...possibly).

Kettil was fairly certain that something would become sentient and attack them if they stood around long enough, that was simply what experience has taught him.
