Katherine Pierson
PCI Psychiatrist and Commanding Officer

Pierson adjusted her glasses, her smile not faltering in the least. "You're not the first person with that attitude I've had in here. An agent by the name of Colby... Colby Granger. He was a bit of a punk, no respect for authority. But he was a damn fine agent. Got the job done, but it always had to be his way..." Pierson opened a folder and looked over the contents of it before closing it and continuing, "Colby was one of the best agents I've ever had under my command. You wanna know what happened to him? Well I will tell you. I had to arrest him, and put him in a high security holding facility where he still resides to this day. He was a damn fine agent. But he was apparently also a damn fine double agent. He was working against the PCI from the beginning. Had everyone completely fooled. Caused the deaths of at least a few hundred people from those passenger jet crashes a while back. You know what could have stopped that? Someone like you. Who could have truly seen through the bullshit a sociopath like that can weave for people." Pierson watched Zack and adjusted her glasses. The PCI office, and her reputation had both been hurt quite a bit due to Colby's double cross. She herself was quite surprised about his actions, but he had done quite an excellent job at fooling her. So much so, that an impressed arms dealer, broke him out of the secure facility, replaced him with a double and blew up his cell, vaporizing the body leaving only a few bones. Colby now made quite a lot of money being one of the wealthy arms dealer's henchmen.

"Now... if you really are not interested in my offer then you can go and never come back. However... my offer will remain open, so if you ever wish to entertain my offer, you can call me." Pierson reached into her pocket and pulled out a small business card, handing it to him. He was free to make a decision, but she was not the type of person to take rudeness like his lightly, no matter how much of a smile she held.

Zack Hoyt

And now she was spouting some sob story about some other guy that had acted exactly like him. Zack could barely contain the urge to roll his eyes at this woman’s attempts to persuade him. He had no interest in some other guy’s actions. It really did have nothing to do with him. So now she was going to play the guilt-trip card by saying that “If only Zack had been there to detect this Colby person’s lies” speech. ”Spare me the guilt trip. Yeah, those jet crashes were a tragedy, but they were hardly my fault if I wasn’t there to inspect this double agent of yours. An agency this size would have many other Polygraphers who could do the exact same job and read that guy’s intentions. Someone like yourself even, right?” he replied, giving Pierson a look that said that he knew what her classification was already without her saying it.

He glanced down at the business card she was holding out for him to take before snatching it out of her hand. He wasn’t taking it because he was thinking about calling her back. Zack was only taking it to be polite and give the appearance that he was considering her offer. Just to at least get this lady and PCI off his back. The card would probably find its way into some trash bin when he left, or he would simply drop it somewhere and “conveniently lose” it. Zack turned away from Pierson, headed for the door to the hallway and stepped out of the room. ”Call you? Ha! We both know that’s not going to happen.” he retorted over his shoulder as he went into the hallway.

Down the hall from where the room where he’d been talking to Pierson was, he could see three other people gathered and talking amongst themselves. It looked like they were some of the agents in that failed mission Pierson had led, and it also looked like Zack would have to go past them if he were to find the exit to this large building. It shouldn’t be that hard or that big of a deal to walk right by them either. Without another thought, Zack headed down the hall towards them, shifting his hold on the guitar case slightly so it wouldn’t fall off his shoulder.

Syara was happy to see Kage come back looking good as ever, it was weird seeing blink carry her back to the van unconscious when they had finished their mission, creepy even. "ill take you on! glad to see your awake and about again Kage" she forgot all about going to see the dead body now that two of her team members were here.
"to the training grounds it is then!' she gave a slight whoop as she found the company, she still harbored a lot of energy after the mission, specially since she was still pretty much stuck at home as of late. Pierson was not taking any chances with her health, And many were in agreement with her.
A new person aproached the group as she gave her shout of excitement and she glanced over at him wondering who he was. she knew most of the people here, being restricted to the grounds a lot since she passed the training classes, and only remembered a little about Pierson calling in a local person to see if he could in the group. "Kage... is that the new kid Pierson wanted to recruit?

Charlie grinned. "Thanks! Target 1 was heavier than I was expecting." Charlie was looking forward to a little physical exercise. Syara was pretty close to her in size. Despite Syara being younger, Charlie was tiny - it came part and parcel with her Japanese heritage. But, it meant Syara made for a great training partner, and targets had a bad habit of underestimating her, which she used to her full advantage.

"Speaking of, please tell me. Did Blink throw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, or carry me like a damsel in distress?" Charlie laughed good naturedly, then looked up as Syara pointed out the guy walking towards them, with a guitar case slung over his shoulder. "Yeah...I think so. Let's go say hi." Charlie waved at him casually. He didn't look to psyched to be here, so she didn't think bombarding him would be a good idea, but at the same time, if he was going to be a member of the team, it was important for him to feel like he could talk to the other operatives. "Hey, you're Zack, right? Pierson was saying she was looking to recruit someone. I'm Charlie, this is Syara, and that's Matthias. It's nice to meet you." Charlie held out her hand for a shake, with a warm smile.

Zack Hoyt

He hadn’t even taken ten steps when the three noticed his approach. ’Dammit. they aren’t going to make it easy for me to get out of here, are they…’ He was going to have to at least say hello or something to get rid of them. When the pink-haired girl came up to him with her friends, he stopped for a brief moment. He wasn’t planning on coming back here, so Zack felt this action of theirs was pointless really. When Charlie finished and held out her hand to hopefully shake his, one of Zack’s eyebrows raised. She was probably assuming that he had accepted the recruitment offer. He did not grasp her outstretched hand in that friendly greeting that someone would normally do in this situation. Instead, speaking in a rather curt and sarcastic manner, he said, ”Yeah, sure, whatever. Nice to meet you.” With that Zack tried to step past Charlie, Syara, and Matthias to continue trying to get to the exit. "Now goodbye."

MATTHIAS KENT "BLINK"

Blink laughed as the three joked about. He always enjoyed his comrades company, even when they bashed on one another. Another figure approached from behind Matthias. This time, he couldn't identify it. He looked over his shoulder once more and smiled as Kage introduced the trio. It was the recruit Pierson had very briefly mentioned. Their 'guest' didn't seem to want anything to do with them. Matthias's smile quickly vanished, as he rubbed his chin. Never with the PCI Corporate Building had he been met with such....resistance."Umm.. Nice to meet you too...?" said Blink, his tone sounding a bit confused with a hint of sarcasm. What was up with this guy? Matthias reached out toward him without actually touching him, in hopes of stopping him. "Whoa whoa whoa, big guy! I hope you're not in a rush to leave. If there's anywhere you need to go, I'm sure someone here would be able to get you there. Syara, Charlie, and I were just about to have some fun sparring, or what not, if you cared to join us! Come on, it won't hurt." said Blink in a welcoming manner, raising his shoulders and arms into the air. He took another sip of his coffee, leaning back into the wall with his right shoulder, and crossing his arms.

The guy obviously was uncomfortable around the others and displayed no interest in the three. What did he and Pierson talk about in there? Matthias was all about gaining trust. If this new recruit was going to join PCI, he wanted to make sure he could count on him and not have to worry about putting a bullet to his head. Although very solitary, Blink would never cooperate with someone he couldn't trust his life with. Blink was getting ahead of himself... From the looks of it, this guy, aside from what Blink's seen on paper, was just another civilian/potential suspect Blink could track from anywhere on the planet.

Just as Blink moved to stop the new member Syara grabbed his arm, " hey wait where are you going? don't you want to see the place?" she didn't honestly think that he could want to leave. She believed everyone had the capability and the intentions to help those that need it. Stein had his issues with sanity, and vision had lapses in judgement some times, what with his drinking getting out of hand now and again, but it never occurred to her that someone would not want to work for the greater good.

What was with these people? Did they not understand that he didn’t want to be here? Why wouldn’t they just leave him alone? Ignoring Matthias’ offer of a ride and the offer of joining them for their sparring session, Zack moved past Charlie. He had just about made it past Syara and Matthias when Zack felt someone grab hold of his arm. His body tensed briefly before reacting. Out of reflex, he turned around, yanked his arm free of Syara’s grasp, and quickly grabbed hold of her wrist. His eyes narrowed a little as he glared at her. ”First of all, don’t touch me without telling me.” he snapped, ”And second of all: Newsflash! I’m not joining your little club here, so why the hell would I need a tour if I wasn’t planning to stay?” While he was saying this, Zack didn’t realize his grip tightened a little on Syara’s arm.

"Zack." Charlie said carefully. His grip was tightening on Syara's wrist. Whatever Pierson had said to him must have upset him, and now there were three strangers standing in his way. It made sense that he'd be a little tense, but Charlie knew Matthias would stand with her - and intervene if necessary - if it came to it. "We're sorry." Charlie apologized quietly, for the second time that day. She was really on a roll.

Calmly, Charlie made sure to look into Zack's eyes. She knew he was at least in part Polygraph, probably a very strong one if PCI was hoping to recruit him, although the team wouldn't get the details until - if - he decided to join. Polygraphs read body language and intentions as part of their powers, and she wanted to make sure she was firm but sincere. They really were just trying to be welcoming with their invitations, but she wasn't going to let him hurt Syara.
"We didn't mean to bombard you. If you have somewhere else to be, that's okay. We won't stand in your way. But we couldn't have known you weren't planning to stay, so maybe you could let go of Syara's arm, and we'll all go our separate ways, yeah?"

Zack Hoyt

Since his hand was holding onto Syara’s wrist, the other three would most definitely be able to see Zack’s gloved hands by now. But when Charlie decided to intervene and spoke up with an apology, Zack’s gaze flickered over to look at her, breaking his glare at Syara for a very brief moment. His powers and his reading of her body language told him she was just trying to keep the situation civil and she wasn’t trying to antagonize him or anything. If anything, he was probably in the wrong for snapping at them like he had. Knowing that sort of ticked him off.

Upon hearing Charlie mention letting go of Syara, Zack finally noticed how tightly he was holding on to the girl’s arm. He cursed himself mentally before releasing his hold on Syara’s arm. With a scoff, the redhead returned his hand to grasp the strap of his guitar case and shifted it again as it has begun to slip off his shoulder during that little incident. As he did this, Zack closed his eyes and turned his back on the other three psychics. ”Whatever…” he murmured, a slight scowl coming to his lips. As much as Zack didn’t want to admit it, Charlie was right. These guys wouldn’t have known he wasn’t planning to stay since he had only just met them right now. Regardless, Zack wanted to get out of this place and go back to doing his own thing. ”I’m outta here…” he muttered as he started heading off down the hallway once again.

MATTHIAS KENT "BLINK"

Matthias immediately discovered he was being ignored, but quickly shook away his aggression. He wasn't one to engage in petty confrontations. He'd leave the man be. Syara tried stopping him, but, she too, was met with disagreement. Upon seeing Zack grab Syara's arm, he stood from the wall, drinking the last bit of coffee resting within his mug. He glared at the strange man, until things had simmered down. In Blink's eyes, someone this uncomfortable around PCI agents had no immediate place here. He rested a hand on Kage's shoulder, trying to dissuade her from a pursuit."Leave him be, Charlie..." Matthias said nodding his head. Zack obviously had issues on his end he needed to take care off. Blink could understand that.

once her hand was free Syara stepped back to rub it, a mixed coctail of emotions welling in her chest as she watches him leave again, this time clutching the strap to his guitar case. It took a fair amount of restraint on her part to keep from following him and tackling him to the ground, he had insulted the PCI and her friends. Blink held Kage down, but he was making a mistake leaving Syara free to go, irritated she followed the kid, leaving the building behind him just what she was always ordered not to do.
She had been in the world outside, Pierson had seen to it she could react with normal people easily enough. her tracking skills were nothing near what Blinks were, but she didn't have a problem keeping to the polygrapher. she was curious why someone would refuse a chance to work with them. perhaps he had a huge family, or was some drug addict that didn't want to put effort forth to earn a living. She dint think Pierson would chose some one like that but she supposed there was a lot she didn't think Pierson would do, but she did anyway.

Zack Hoyt

When Zack finally found the exit, he shoved the door open and stepped out into the fresh air. He let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding in because of how annoyed he’d been. Now that he was out that building, Zack could finally find his bandmates at the park and they could then return their studio to rehearse. They had a pretty decent gig later that night that they needed to practice their set for.

Down the sidewalk he went at a pretty fast clip to put as much distance between himself at the PCI building as possible. Even though he wasn’t aware yet of someone actually following him, he wanted to put distance between himself and those other psychics as soon as possible just in case he was followed. Their crusade to rid the world of criminals and evil or whatever had nothing to do with him, so why in hell would they even try recruiting him? It was a preposterous idea to him and even the mere thought made him roll his eyes as he turned yet another corner, passing by quite a large number of other pedestrians. Zack wove skillfully through the crowds, attempting to ignore a lot of the new thoughts from the area around him that were filling his mind.. Most of the time, he didn’t even use crosswalks to get to the opposite side of the road when he needed to.

It wasn’t until he got close to the park that he started to hear someone’s thoughts, and those thoughts concerned continuing to follow him of all people. ’Great. One of those people back there decided to follow me. Dammit.’ He quickly crossed the street, carefully so as not to get hit by the next passing car. If whoever, was following him actually decided to cross the street right behind him, they would have to wait for the cars to go by first. The entrance to the park where his friends were waiting was about a block away too. If they did cross the street, Zack planned to confront them before he found his friends.

Syara quickly noticed how strange it was to her to walk the streets, she got a few interesting glances thanks to her mask, but for the most part people still relatively ignored her presence and shoved past her without a care. it wasn't something she was used to. her only hope at this point was the man with the guitar case that she was following, she was lucky she found everyone's' work entertaining enough to learn something otherwise she would have been lost by now.
Zack sped up to cross the street just as the pedestrian light turned red, and horns blared as Syara proceeded to follow him out into the street, she jumped and became nervous as people started to shout for her to get out of the way, and in her panicked state she continued out into the road, finding herself on the other side of the street in the midst of the oncoming traffic.

Zack Hoyt

It wasn’t until he had crossed the street that Zack heard a blaring of horns from the cars behind him. He stopped and turned to look at what had happened and also to see which one of the PCI agents had decided to follow him. He frowned a little seeing that it was the girl with the mask who had grabbed his arm earlier. What was her name again? Sarah, Sierra, or something. Right now remembering her name wasn’t on his priority list. Instead, He was busy watching as the masked girl panicked a little with the cars honking and the people shouting at her to get out of the middle of the road. ’Good god… For a government agent, she’s not that good at following people or staying out of danger.’ he thought to himself as he rolled his eyes slightly while watching as she backed up onto the sidewalk where he was standing. He didn’t even move as he unwary girl came close enough to bump right into him. Zack didn’t flinch or anything. But he did decide to say something to catch the girl’s attention in case she didn’t turn around after bumping into him. ”Just what the hell are you doing?” Zack looked at her, not so much glaring but staring at her with a slight frown on his features. He then waited for her to explain herself even though he knew she would probably lie to cover up the fact that she was obviously following him.
