Jordan was shaking her head as she watched Chris leave her room to get a shower. Watching every part of her backside in motion, "Nice a**. . ." She thought as she laid back in her bed remembering everything about that erotic moment. She could still feel and imagine Chris' lips touching hers as she just closed her eyes and reimagined the scene over and over again. Those lips and that face were imprinted in her mind now. Just the very thought of it made her hands roam down between her legs to get it off her mind some, but she was startled by the sound of her phone going off. She looked at the screen and noticed it was an unknown number calling. She was more surprised to realize that eating and their kissing made time fly by as it was a nine in the evening. Did they really socialize that long? She decided to just ignore the call and continue on with the taking care of herself.

That damn phone wasn't going to let that happen though. It went off another time and after that she couldn't focus and lost the mood to actually get pants off. She picked up the phone with an agitated voice. Hello? Oh it's you. . .Uh-huh. . .yeah. . .Really? Hmmm. . . .alrght, it sounds like a good job. Juuuust give me like an hour and a half and I'll get it done. . .Later." She said as she was typing in her notes app an address. On the phone was a client looking for an armed car robbery carrying a decent sum of cash just in town. How they knew she was back home was past her, but she wasn't going to refuse money. That and she still had a rush, so she wasn't falling asleep anytime soon. The car was leaving the bank later tonight, so she decided to leave once Chris was settled in and asleep for the night. It still wasn't the time for her to know anything about the life she lived and she wasn't ready to tell her since it meant bringing up Elaine. She didn't want to get her caught up in this life either, it would only make things more complicated for the two of them.

After taking a shower that was probably longer than it needed to be, Chris changed into her pajamas, an oversized shirt and a pair of shorts, and headed to bed. Except she couldn't sleep. All she could think about was Jordan. Jordan, Jordan, Jordan. Jordan and those kisses, those touches, those everything, and God dammit this wasn't working! Twenty minutes after climbing into bed, Chris threw back her covers in frustration and made for the stairs. Obviously her attempts to rid herself of this distraction while in the shower hadn't been enough; it was time to paint.

Afraid Jordan might be sleeping, Chris slowed her pace and took more careful steps as she descended the stairs. Slipping into her art studio, which could be entered from the kitchen, Chris grabbed some painting supplies and set up shop. Soon she had a paintbrush in her hand and was, despite her best efforts to stave off the thoughts plaguing her, sweeping onto the canvas whatever came to mind.

Jordan was laying there patiently for Chris to get to bed, the girl had been in the shower for quite awhile now. She could only imagine what that girl looked like fully undressed and it killed her. This girl was someone she was entrusted to protect, not to woo. Still why was it so hard to just keep it at that? Maybe it was those kisses of hers or perhaps the emotional stress these two were going through with Elaine gone. "Come on stay focused. You got a mission coming up." She said as she heard the faucet turn off.

Beta waited to here for Chris' door to shut and then a couple of more minutes to just make sure she was actually asleep. Little did she know that Chris had made her way down the stairs into the art studio. With the thought that the girl was finally asleep, Beta stole her way down stairs. She made her ways to the kitchen counter tops to pick up her car keys and then went off out the door.

Making her way to her to the Black R8, she clicked the unlock button and opened up her door. "God I need to get this cleaned up." She said to herself as she kicked the Rockstars over into the passenger side floor. She put the key into ignition and listened to the v10 engine start up. It wasn't a silent car, but it was something to listen to. She shifted into reverse and pulled out of the driveway. She looked at the clock, 10 p.m. on the dot. She then shifted into drive as she made her way to the mission rendezvous point with the car roaring through the neighborhood.

Everything Chris started, she wanted to scrap. On one hand, she was trying to hard, trying to plan out her painting, to put more conscious thought into it than was beneficial. On the other hand, she knew if she let herself break loose, she would regret the outcome, whether it was tied to Elaine, or... to Jordan, even. Her frustration disrupted by the sound of jingling keys and footsteps. Glancing out the open door and into the kitchen, Chris spotted a figure, Jordan, snatching something from the counter and leaving. Rising slowly, quietly, Chris walked over to the kitchen doorway just in time to see Jordan stepping out of the house. Where was she going at this hour? Chris frowned. She wasn't leaving for good, was she? No, her stuff was still here. So what, then? Was this going to be a regular thing?

Deciding to confront her about it, Chris returned to her studio and remained there, wasting time until Jordan got back. When she heard the woman return home, she would step into the doorway and ambush her.

It was going to be a long night for Jordan. It took her 30 minutes to ride into town and find the rendezvous area which was on the third floor of a four story car lot. Once she arrived to the third floor, she found a Grey 911 Porsche sitting on the east end of the lot next to a support pillar. On the support pillar was the symbol for Beta,β, which was recognition for the woman to know this was the spot. Underneath the driver side of the car was a pair of car keys for her. The Porsche would be her decoy so they would be looking for a Porsche, not her car R8. She unlocked the car and inside on the driver side was an MK14 EBR-RI rifle equipped with a scope and a box or two of ammo for it. There was a card on the passenger seat which read, "Just to make the job a little easier for you, welcome back." As she picked it up, she noticed some kind of explosive was hidden beneath it likely to be used on the armored car. With all her tools in hand, she started the ignition and set off for the destination point.

Two hour later, she was perched on top of a hill that overlooked the highway going into the city and out across the flatlands. The highway was pretty desolate at night if not for one or two cars that were driving who knows where. The armored bank car was supposed to be making a drive on the highway around 12:45 which gave her time to just sit there in the car and meditate while she played some of Jhene Aiko's on her smartphone. She sat there and watched cars go by, while she thought about Elaine and Chris.

She was so frustrated with herself, how could she put up the role of a guardian for Chris. She wasn't a client that Jordan would just lose after a few days this was somebody she had to care for and protect. But people she tried to protect only ended up getting done in by her. Was she worried that the same might happen to Chris with her around? She couldn't handle another death of a loved one. It was about that time her alarm had went off letting her know it was 12:40.

She got the rifle ready and scanned the road for the large Van. It was about a mile away, coming her direction with no cars around it surprisingly. You'd think police had that on lock down. She followed the car's driver and focused in on him carefully. "Caucasian male, brown hair, about in his thirties. . .Just aim for his head. . ." She said before pulling the trigger. The gunshot wasn't too loud before the bullet whiffed over the hill and going through the windshield through the cranium of the driver which let out a spray of blood. The van screeched and swerved over the road before toppling over and through the guard rail into a ditch. Even Elaine would've been impressed with a one-shot kill like that. She drove down real quick to the toppled car and approached the back doors where the cash was stashed. She pulled on the doors, "Locked of course. . ." Jordan grumbled as she went for the explosives and applied it to the door. She went for cover and then waited until the bomb went off, ripping apart both doors to the back. There lied an amount of cash from more than enough fat cats that would be sobbing when they received the news that there pesos were stolen by a bandita. They'd never find out though.

After taking the cash and heading back to the city. She reached the parking lot to find a man in a suit and vest waiting for her with a suitcase. She handed over a walloping million dollars. He went through it to see it was the real deal and then in return gave her the suit case that had a quarter of the money to her, 250 k's worth in her case. It made her grin. She loved what she got to do for a living. She gave the man the keys to the Porsche and went on her way back home in her car.

Her car came zooming back in at 2:45 in the morning. She parked in the driveway and moved the MK14 to the trunk of the car, but decided to take the suitcase inside. She unlocked the front door and tried to sneak into the house with sly maneuverability. All she could think about was how badly she wanted to get to bed after such a long night.

The hours ticked by. Chris gave up painting around midnight and spent the remaining two hours and forty-five minutes thinking. Thinking about her mother, about Jordan. Although it had only been a week since Elaine's passing, Chris had almost forgotten how familiar this was--waiting in the still and silent dark for a certain person to come home. She used to pull all-nighters when she caught her mother sneaking out of the house, just to make sure the woman got in safe and sound. Chris had long since stopped asking questions, but part of her knew that whatever her mother spent those twilight hours doing, it was dangerous. Sometimes trusting she would return in one piece wasn't enough, and Chris had to see Elaine whole with her own two eyes.

When Chris heard a car pull into the driveway, she stood and stepped over to the door offering passage between her art studio and the kitchen. The door opened, closed. A tired-looking figure walked into her house. Once Jordan drew near, Chris flipped on the lights. Crossing her arms, she leaned against the kitchen doorway. "And where have you been?" she asked, her expression one of stern curiosity.

Jordan was only a few steps into the the house. She couldn't remember how she left the place, but she was pretty confident she left the lights on. She'd spent enough time in the dark already tonight. When she took a step near the kitchen, the lights flashed on and there stood a figure. It was a pitch black, indistinct figure She let out a yelp as she stumbled back and fell over the couch. It took a few seconds for her eyes to adjust to the lighting for Beta to realize the figure was Chris. The afterimage of the blob was still lingering in her vision as she looked back up at the girl.

"Jesus ********> She started off with a sound of annoyance and bitterness, "What are you still doing awake? You should have been asleep hours ago."She was more perturbed than usual due to the fact that it was almost three in the morning. She heard Chris' question on where she was. "Are you trying to interrogate me right now? You got a lot of nerve to be trying that this late." Jordan said with her legs hanging over the back of the couch and her upper body laying on the seat cushion of it. She could tell that this girl wasn't going to give until she got an answer though. It was those crossed arms that annoyed her the most, like the role's of guardian and child were switched. "If you have to know, I went on a late night drive. I couldn't get any sleep after you left. Driving around town makes me tired after awhile." She nonchalantly lied. It's not like Chris knew all her habits anyways.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 29, 2014 9:04 pm

Chris narrowed her eyes and searched Jordan's gaze for any indication that she was lying. Nothing, nothing, and more nothing. Although she still wasn't wholly convinced, Chris, sensing Jordan was agitated with her and finding no reason to continue searching for something she wouldn't find, allowed her stern expression to relax. Jordan was a grown woman, for Christ's sake. She could do whatever the hell she wanted. Not to mention, she was now essentially the parent figure here. But still. Old habits died hard, and this one would be even harder to break for a very specific reason.

Chris averted her eyes to the ground, let her arms fall away from her chest and to her sides, and stood straight so that she was no longer leaning against the doorway. "I'm sorry. It's just that..." She sighed, shook her head. "The last time someone left this house in the middle of the night without telling me, they never came back." Chris took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, willing herself to not cry. "I'm going to bed. Goodnight." With that, she started for the stairs.

Jordan watched as the defeated Chris was making her leave to her room for the night. She felt bad now for giving her that kind of attitude when she was just concerned on her well-being. She didn't want to leave it like this with guilt of being a jerk resting in her head. Then she'd never be able to fall asleep. "Goddammit. . ." She thought as she got up off the couch.

She reached for Chris' hand and grasped it. "Come back here." She said as she pulled the girl back and brought her arms around her from behind. "No matter what, I promise to come back through that door under any circumstances. Got it?" Beta told the girl. "I'm not going to leave you here alone and wondering where I've gone. I'm going to be here for you." She listened to Chris take in a deep breath and smiled. "I miss her too, you know. I spent a few days just sitting alone with her gone. No one there to help me mourn for her. It's hard. I don't want you going through the same things Chris, it sucks. If you have to cry, just let it out. It's one of the reasons why I'm a guardian; for you to have a shoulder to cry on and tell you it's going to be alright." She explained hugging her tightly.

Although Jordan's words were more comforting than Chris wanted to admit, there was still a voice in the back of her mind whispering to her that Elaine would have said the same thing. Elaine had planned on coming back before Chris even knew she was gone, and then she was killed. Who was to say the same thing wouldn't happen to Jordan, too?

The offer to be a shoulder to cry on was acknowledged with mixed emotions. Chris didn't want to appear weak in front of Jordan, and, more than that, she didn't technically know her very well, so how could she be of any actual help? But at the same time... If anyone knew what Chris was going through, it was Jordan. Chris could already feel her hands rolling into fists and her muscles tensing as her body proved too tired to put up a decent fight. Facing Jordan, Chris said through almost-gritted teeth, "It's just so... frustrating," she said, her voice strained, eyes meeting Jordan's. The tears were slithering down her cheeks, slowly at first, one after another. "It wasn't her time yet."

Jordan was a little surprised to see that face of Chris' covered in tears when the girl turned around to exchange gazes. It was heart-warming and heart-breaking at the same time to finally see her opening up and letting it go as Jordan acted as support for her. It seemed Chris was able to be sturdy for some time, but that emotional wall eventually had a breaking point. The poor girl, must have been going through so much right now. She brought her in close and brushed a hand through her hair. "I know Chris. . ." Beta said quietly. That's what she had been saying for a week now and to know somebody felt the same triggered her eyes to water up some. She bit down on her lip trying to hold it in the best she could before embracing her, ". . .i know."

This brought back so much grieving alone in the car trying to drive off her sorrows and just sitting there covering her face in frustration. It was hard to be strong, when you lost your motivation to keep looking forward. Now she realized that she had found another reason to remain strong as it stood there, crying in her arms. She'd stay there for hours if it meant that Chris could let out all she needed to. This was one of the big knots in between the two women's bond.

(Sorry for the late reply. I've been working a lot and also got sick. Fun stuff.)

Chris was surprised by how much she was letting go. Her hands eventually unclenched and she wrapped her arms around Jordan, almost literally using her for support. Crying into Jordan's shoulder, Chris began to feel both worse and better at the same time. It was all pouring out--her grief, her anger, her everything. All of the emotions and tears she had shared with only herself for the past week were now being dumped onto Jordan, but Jordan didn't seem to mind. In fact, something told Chris they were the same here. Both had mourned alone, whether they chose to or not, and now the pain was out in the open to be shared. Not carried by one person. Shared.

Eventually, the tears dried up, and Chris was just keeping Jordan close to her for comfort's sake. Once she was confident she could speak with a steady, even tone, she said in a whisper, "I don't want to be alone tonight." She was essentially asking Jordan if she could sleep beside her. After a week of crying herself to sleep in the lonely darkness, Chris found herself not wanting to leave Jordan's arms.

Jordan had never dealt with trying to comfort someone grieving so she was bit unsure of what to do. All she could think of was to just to brush her hand against Chris' back while she held back her tears and listen to the girl cry against her. Despite that playing around earlier, this felt better to her. Sharing relating emotions and holding each other to soothe their broken hearts for the same person, she imagined Elaine was somewhere with a grin going from cheekbone to cheekbone.

She listened as she could hear the crying subside and just stood there with this gorgeous maiden in her arms. It was so quiet in the room, that the words Chris whisper easily echoed through her ears. Her lungs felt as if they had grown twice in size in her rib cage and break loose. "Did she really ask me that?" She thought in both disbelief and nervousness. The rogue, who just an hour or two ago just killed a man and robbed an armored car, was getting cold feet? "S-sure. Whatever will help beautiful." What the hell? Was this really happening right now? Weren't they just kissing earlier, why is this more nerve-wrecking now? She couldn't understand this feeling she had, she'd been with plenty of other people male and female, but she didn't get like this for them. Then again, she'd never gotten so close or attached to her one-night stands. Then it hit her. She understood this feeling now, she was falling for Chris.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 05, 2014 8:24 pm

Chris was relieved when Jordan agreed. Even though Chris hadn't explicitly asked to sleep beside Jordan, it seemed they were both on the same page. Caught up in her own head, Chris didn't noticed the way Jordan's words faltered or any other signs that she was experiencing an internal conflict. Instead, she took Jordan's hand and led her up the stairs to Elaine's old bedroom. Releasing the girl and climbing onto the bed, Chris patted the empty space beside her to invite Jordan whenever she was ready to sleep. Chris was pretty sure she would wake up tomorrow morning and wonder what the hell she was thinking by asking this of her new guardian, but right now it didn't matter. Right now, she just didn't want to be alone.
