There is a rustling at the doorway, and what might be discerned as the spectre of death itself lurks there. A hulking cloaked being, wearing dark colors, and the sound of straining breaths emanate from the shadowed hood. It is terrifying to behold, as if some hellwraith has come to feed on Lilium's fears.
Then a weak voice whispers her name, and it is instantly recognizable as that of Cervus. The shadowed hood rises as the figure slumps against the doorway, and the glint of a familiar golden brown eye is visible in the shadows of the cloak.

Taken aback at the figure in her doorway Lilium backs away nearly tripping over the chest at the end of her bed. Managing to catch herself she plops onto the chest, And stares into the doorway with fear in her eyes. Can she fight it? Should she fight it? Is she to die today? These thoughts and many others flooded Liliums mind.
Then the demon spoke. It was not like anything she expected, it sounded like.....Cervus. Can it be? Shaking she looks into the eye of the figure and with a faint hoping smile and ctutter she speaks. "Ce..Cervus?"

The cloaked figure sinks to its knees, and there are darker patches visible on the dark green cloak. Blood. He's bleeding. "Yes, beloved. I have returned. Not particularly safely, nor whole, but I have succeeded, and I have come back...if you'll still have me after you see what I have become." His voice is tight with worry and pain.

"You..Your injured." she pulls herself up grabbing her nightgown as she goes to his side. "Was it the.... nevermind. It does not matter." she moves his claok aside to tend to the wounds at this point not noticing anythign else save his wound.

He flinches away, violently, curling away from her touch and her sight. "Lilium...don't! I...I'm not as I was. I don't wish you to be afraid of me, or sickened by the sight of me." There is a soft clattering as his feet shuffle on the floor, as if he were wearing metal boots or some other hard soled shoe that clacked.

She looks at him lovingly for a bit then with a stern look and tone "Quit being silly. Your injured. Let me tend to your wounds." She heard the clacking but took little notice. "Besides. If you were so worried about my reaction why did you come back?" She attempts to see to his wounds once more.

He whispers hoarsely, "Because the changes were to save our people...to have an upper hand against the Moon Court. And I want to see our son or daughter born." His words were thick with tears. He slowly drew back his hood, revealing enormous antlers, thickened hair, a more muscular, larger chest.

Though it did shock her she did her best to supress a look of such. "I know My Lord. It may all be for naught if we don't take care of your wounds." She persisted with her attempt to help her husband. He has changed but its nothing major. Bigger antlers some facial hair. He's still her husband.

Cervus grimaced and shrugged the cloak off the rest of the way, forcing himself back to his feet...er...hooves. Digitigrade legs, the lower body of a proportionally powerful stag, tail and hooves included. And a distinct absence of wings. He looked at Lilium mournfully.

She is taken aback by what she now sees in front of her. It is much harder to supress the look of shock in this instance. She takes a few steps backwards and stands stunned for a few seconds. "uhhh. . Let's.." She tries to gather her sense. What did he do? This is not the Fey she married. Her voice cracks as she tentatively goes to look at his wounds. "Let's see those wounds"

He obediently let her tend to the gashes on his chest, arms, and furred legs, claw and bite marks from various creatures oozing with ichor.
He whispered softly, "I am so sorry, Lily." He hadn't called her that since she was a child.

She gets up and gets a wash basin and returns to his side tending to his wounds. "What have you to be sorry about? You did what was necassary Cervus. You should not be sorry for that." she ripped her gown into strips and cleaned and bandaged the wounds on his chest and arms first deliberately saving the legs for last.

He sighed softly and let her tend to his wounds. "And how fares our child, my Queen?" he queried. A hand, fingers tipped with a miniature hooves of their own, only softer and more pliable than hard bone would be, reached to gently touch her graven belly.

She shivers slightly at his touch. "Your child is good. I've recently checked in with Ursa and all is well." She moves on to cleaning the wounds on his legs her hands shaking a little more then before but she tends to her duties. "I had not expected your absence to be so long."

He murmured quietly, "Nor had I. Time had no meaning while I chased the stag across the lands. I could not sense a measurement of days, nor the sand spilling from the hourglass of life. I could not discern the seasons...it was as if I were wandering a dream, outside of our reality. For that I am most sorry."
