While it was unlikely that anyone would come searching for Shalvesta, the prospect of being left here without Ichil made the suddenly cheerful and fun atmosphere take a turn. But knowing she wouldn't be left alone but would, hopefully, be able to walk back to her tent with Ichil as a companion meant she didn't fully grasp how much this idea didn't appeal to her, and so her mood remained cheery, bouncy in a way quite unlike her normal mood. She tilted her head, but nodded at Ichil, her grin turning into a soft smile - not falling, but shifting easily. She hadn't been so open in her features in a long time, and her cheeks ached but she couldn't make herself stop!!
Instead, she let out a soft peal of surprised laughter when Ichil, bedecked in her riches and silks and skirts, shifted to her haunches like a youngling ready to scamper about. It was so charming that she couldn't even consider refusing. She felt girlish, and she found she quite liked it. So after a moment, her eyes crinkled at the edge, she braced herself, looking like she was trying to force down a large smile that had alighted on her cheeks. "After you, my lady." She said softly, but this time she giggled, the honorative coming out more teasing than respectful, in a gentle way.

Ichil laughed heartily and gave Shalvesta a friendly whack on the shoulder. She had no problem with joking about her ranking. It was all just a big joke, wasn't it? You didn't have a choice what family you were born into, and nobles rarely had to do anything at all to become noble. Even Shalvesta had been welcomed by marriage, which was doubtlessly out of her hands, and she maintained her rank after her late husband's death. It was all just silly, if you asked her.
With that, Ichil bolted off toward the tent where the party was winding down. Nobility filtered from the main area to return to their sleeping quarters while a few more rowdy patrons stayed and laughed the night away. Ichil had it in her mind to get herself a drink before she retired to the droll gossiping of her sisters. Perhaps Shalvesta would like to stay awake and chat a bit longer?
The prentice burst laughing through the tent flap, now more out of breath than from just dancing, and skidded to the punch to pour herself and her new friend each a glass. She ignored the offended looks they were getting for their antics and sipped daintily as her other hand offered Shalvesta her cup.
"I'd hate to call it a night so soon, but if you want to turn in, I understand." There was an honesty to her voice and almost, dare she think it, a humility in her words. It would be up to her friend when their fun was through for the night, but she knew that she would have to find Shalvesta again.

Truly, the two made quite a sight - running together, skirts flying and laughing heartily, skirting around startled soldiers, and finally tumbling into the quiet of the tent they had originally come from. Slowing as they mouthed the mouth of the tent, and the many nobles piling out of it, Shalvesta panted but smiled, brightly and easily, her eyes lit up with childish pleasure. But as Ichil turned back to her, inviting her back inside, breathless from her running and laughs, Shalvesta gazed back into the room, then gave her new friend a soft smile, shaking her head but accepting the drink.
She sipped it, more greedily than the first drink her friend had offered, a soft chuckle breaking from her. The drink was much appreciated, after the dancing and running - cool down her throat, and pleasant. "We've had our fun, and will have it again - but for now I should duck out while the night is young." After all, she didn't have family to walk her back to her tent, and her own abode was more entrenched near the trainee soldiers - fresh faces sent in and trained on the battlefield. She had settled there so she could watch and be near these new soldiers, but it also meant it was a bit more intimidating to walk out there, by herself.
After finishing her drink, Shal set it on a nearby surface, then stepped to her friend, reaching for her hand in clasping in both of her own. A hug would be too familiar in this setting, and yet she felt it was the most appropriate for the camaraderie she felt with Ichil. But clasping hands would have to do. "Soon though - yes?"

It would be a lie if Ichil were to say she wasn't disappointed. She was not usually one to stay up late, but she hadn't had so much fun in quite a long time! It would make sense for the two of them to part ways and rest, though. Her own family would be waiting for her and she was likely to get at least a little scolding for leaving the party. Shalvesta had her own reasons, but at least she wasn't saying goodbye forever. She would seek Shalvesta out the next time she was able to escape her father's eye, and who knew what kind of adventures they might have?
Ichil grinned and let her hands lay in Shalvesta's.
"Very soon," she replied, voice soft. She too would have felt a hug more appropriate, but if Shalvesta was more comfortable with a gentler gesture, so be it! Yes, she saw a grand future between herself and her new friend.
