Proto took one step off the elevator...and immediately froze. A -very- familiar tail had gone scampering by, the pup it belonged to off down the hall peeking into random doors and...well, exploring basically.

The red general stiffened, fur bristling as he watched the small thing rampaging around in the hallway. What. in. the. <********> Bass was supposed to be watching the little shits. IT WAS HIS TURN DAMNIT.

UGH.

Proto -was not- eager at all to explain to everyone in this tower just what was going on with those pups. He, in fact, really had no idea the details of how it happened either. It was not something he wanted to think on.

Ever.

Arpeggio, however, was still all too happy to keep looking into things she likely wasn't supposed to be in.

Splash also saw the tail. As it was unfamiliar to her, she quickly stepped off the elevator.
"DECLARE YOURSELF!" She demanded, holding her trident in both hands, pointing it in the direction of the unidentified audio.

Oh s**t.
Proto just...sighed and watched. This was going to end in disaster wasn't it?

Down the hall, the pup backed out of a room and turned to look at Splash. Head tilted to the side, her blonde hair flopped into her face a bit. With a tail wag and a bark, the small Audio padded closer.

"Hi there! Who are you? And....HI DAD."
The pup was now waving enthusiastically at Proto, who currently looked like he was trying to slink back to the elevator.

The response to her demand was not met in a expected way. Splash was rather taken aback by the young audio's complete lack of fear. She seemed to totally lack malice or ulterior motive, she Splash relaxed her stance a bit. What nearly floored her was the young audio's greeting of Proto. Splash turned and just stared at her fellow bot for a good minute.

"......Dad?" She questioned finally when she began processing the information.

She wasn't normally one to pry into the private affairs of the other masters, (excluding their health) but....

At this point, Arpeggio was happily padding around Splash. She was new! She was interesting! She had a very distinct smell...maybe watery? Arpeggio really had no idea, but she was SUPER INTERESTED in this new bot!

Proto, on the other paw, was heavily regretting ever leaving his room this evening.
"Look, I have no idea okay. Wily did something and..."
The red bot's tone was defensive, as well as slightly panicked. He was flailing a hand in Arpeggio's direction at this point. He still had -no idea- how the hell to explain the pups.

He also wasn't eager to explain who the other involved party was.

Regaining her composure, Splash placed her trident upwards, as so the excited pup running about her did not spear herself. Proto seemed very obviously uncomfortable about the whole situation, and didn't want to explain the pup's origins. While Splash remained interested in how the curious little thing had come about, she decided for her friend's sake not to ask to many questions.

"You are a hyper little one," she noted, turning back to the bouncing pup. "What are you doing on this floor? I get the feeling you aren't supposed to be here," she said smiling at Proto.

"Welllll I'm supposed to be with OTHER dad. Daddy Bass! But that was sort of boring so I came out here to explore a bit. There's just so much to look at!"

Proto let out a noise of despair. DAMNIT, stupid pup, ruining everything! Now Splash would know that it was him and -Bass-. Somehow their programming had spawned...

He wasn't even sure -what-. But things had happened and surely it was Wily's fault.

Splash Woman liked to think of herself as calm and collected. That was normally how she acted. Her status as a robot master put her above many of the various other working bots in the tower. They looked up to the robot masters, and despite the antics of the other masters, and Splash tried very hard to maintain a level of calm dignity. Her protective programming made her somewhat maternal over her fellow bots, and again made her strive to be a mature example.

But every now and then something came along and broke through that calm. Something that made her temporarily lose that dignity, and something had just come along to do that. She bit her lip trying desperately not to laugh. She knew it. Who else could have it been besides Bass?

Using every ounce of energy she had she suppressed her desire to laugh. "You certainly do not take after your other dad, do you little one? I believe it would be wise if you rejoined him before you get into any serious trouble."

Seeing Proto's expression brought some of the calm dignity back, and then, it was go. "As a matter of fact, why don't we take you back, sense we are headed up the tower anyway," she suggested innocently.

SHUT UP...is what Proto -would- be screaming if he knew what Splash was thinking. What did she mean, who else could it have been but Bass?! It wasn't like he had feelings for that fin-helmeted IDIOT.

HRMPH.

"Awww but it's fun out here!"
Arpeggio flopped flat on the ground, heaving a dramatic (and unnecessary) sigh.

Proto, on the other paw, just dragged himself back into the elevator. Yep. Definitely should have just stayed in -bed-.

Oh no, Proto wasn't getting off the hook THAT easily. Splash certainly felt sorry for him, but not sorry enough to let him run off without dealing with his pup.
"Are you bringing her back now? Go with him back to your daddy Bass little one," She told the overly dramatic pup. "I don't mind her going along with us," she told her creeping companion. "I think it would be a good idea to at least show her around the tower," Splash's grin was every so slightly malicious. Ok, yes, she WAS having fun at poor Proto's expense. It was good for him every now and again.

"It's a Tower, that she -isn't- supposed to be wandering around."
Proto was growling now. Oh, he was definitely in a foul mood.
"I am not sure why you would want to show her -more- of it when all she is going to do is get in trouble."
She was, in fact, rather good at it.

Arpeggio had perked back up by now, bounding around Splash excitedly.
"I'd like to see more of the Tower! Can I go with you please please please? Daddy Bass is cranky. Daddy Proto is cranky. You seem nice!"

Proto was grumbling not the nicest things to himself.

"Locking her away will only make her worse. It is better that she at least be with someone to explore the Tower rather than on her own," Splash returned to her normal, over-motherly self. She watched the pup bounce around her. Somehow she found herself liking this hyperactive little one. She saw her friend's mood was not helped by the pup. She gently stopped her bouncing with one arm. "All right little one, calm down. I think it is time for you to head back where you belong," Splash decided she was finished having a chuckle at Proto's expense. "For now, why don't we take her back? I can finish the tower check afterwards," She offered.

"Yeah yeah I know she needs to get out but..."
It just didn't look like he was ready to mentally handle the bouncing ball of fur. Proto really wasn't much for constant company...and having pups (four of them, not that Splash needed to know that just yet) meant he was constantly being bothered.

He looked so defeated right now.

"Cmon..we can dump her back on Bass' floor."
And he'd likely end up staying there too, flopped in the cot and covered with puppies. Sigh.

Arpeggio's jumping had been stopped but now she was -wiggling- in excitement.

Splash held firm the squirming pup. "Alright little one, time to go back," she insisted. She walked back to the elevator. "And you were wondering if I am ever bored of the Tower?" She joked to Proto, pressing the button with the tip of the trident.

As the elevator doors closed on the pair (and their new companion) there was one further reply from Proto.

One long, suffering, unneccesary, sigh.
