"I met her a few times after that too, and one day she asked me out on a date. And like.. No one had ever really treated me like a guy back then, just like a kid or a little brother. But Nevada, we went out on a date. It was just silly stuff at an aquarium, but I felt like.... ugh." Otto shook his head, feeling much too proud to let himself get mushy about his feelings.
"Anyway.. Even after that, and even after she told me she liked me some time later, I went runnin' after Eva instead, cause of some dumb crush I had on her." He was a sucker for black haired women, after all. And Eva had been his first female friend on the island.
"I was dreamin' though. Went out with Eva for a year, and she only ever treated me like another friend. I wanted to make her feel like a girlfriend, but it was hard when I never got the same. And I was always too scared to touch her, cause she's... well.."
He shook his head.
"I started going out with Nevada after she told me she was gunna die. I knew it was coming but..."
