The shirt was shrugged off, leaving Finn standing their in his jeans and boots. His lips pressed together in a firm line, the moment it looked as though Oliver was going to try and leave, Finn slammed his hand against the front inside if the stall, blocking the young mans path with his arm.

"Shut up." He said, "And get back inside. And stop freaking out. I'm not going to....do whatever I'm sure you're thinking I'm going to do." He stared down at the life trainee with a narrowed eye, before reaching up with his free hand towards his own face, fingertips digging underneath the front of his eyepatch before peeling it up and off of his face, so that if Oliver chose to look, he would see that empty socket surrounded by scar tissue staring back at him.

"This place is bad, and s**t happens." His voice was a low hiss, as he pointed to his own scars, to the bubbled acid scars across his rib cage, to the bullet wound scar on his shoulder and side, and the one on his left arm from where a giant insect leg had gone straight through, breaking through the bone.

"And you're afraid to shower in front of other people? Because that is most definitely not what you should be afraid of, here." His tone was turning vicious.

"Now wash your damn hair or I will do it for you."

......God he sounded like some bitchy old nag of a mom right now. He cursed Oliver mentally for it.

For a moment Oliver stared. Not at the empty eye socket, or the bullet wound, or the burn that looked like it should still be hurting, but at Finn as a whole. He was tough, and had gone through a lot on the island. The Moon hunter was right. s**t happens, and it definitely happened to him. Yet he was still here, for all the scars on his body.

But the reason for the staring was not fear, or revulsion or admiration for his friend's strength. It was the sheer absurdity of the situation. This strong, brave, vicious man was standing there half-dressed and telling the kid to wash his hair.

It could be unpredictable, the things that finally made Oliver feel better, and this time it was the nasty tone and threats. He didn't look quite as sullen as he gave up the fight and pulled off his own coat. The dinosaur shirt followed with some timid awkwardness, and then socks, and he even kicked off his pants for good measure. He wasn't ready to take off everything, but it was probably more than Finn would expect.

The wet clothes were dropped rather unceremoniously in a heap in the corner of the shower, and Oliver closed his eyes as he stood under the hot water. Although most of him looked soft and un-marked, having lived a rather gentle life in front of books and games, there were some long scars around his right shoulder. A couple were scattered and irregular, but one on his upper arm looked surgical in nature. There was a smaller one on his collarbone, but it had healed more smoothly than the others. But the scars weren't the source of his reluctance when it came to public showers, he was just... nervous.

He glanced in Finn's direction once, and somehow kept himself from asking Finn to not look. And then, for good measure, he ran his fingers through his hair, rubbing his scalp where he thought there might have been some lingering cookie crumbs.

Finn had actually been about to give up. For all of his own acts of stubbornness at times, he actually found that quite often, he gave too few cares to what actually happened, and in moments like these when he felt that he was going out of his way to help, with little to no personal gain for himself, he found that he really had no reason at all to continue trying to force the young man in front of him to do anything. He wanted to sit and cry in his room for the rest of his short, pathetic, life? Fine.

So it was with fortunate timing that Oliver managed to find it within himself to suck it up and take his clothes off to shower. He watched him for all of a few seconds, just long enough to take in the few scars that the young man possessed, before he took a step back, and began pulling off his own boots, adding them to the pile of clothes he had left outside of the shower, before working on his belt buckle, and then the button of his jeans.

For just a little longer, Finn was content to make the kid feel absolutely mortified, likely as payback for making him go through all of this, before he turned and walked a few steps away to finish undressing, out of the life trainee's sight, stepping into the shower next door to Oliver's and turning the water on.

He stayed in the shower for a long time, and was either trusting that Oliver wasn't going to run away now, or had felt that his good deed was done and the young man could leave whenever he wanted.

The longer he stood under the hot water, the more Oliver relaxed, and let all the miserable emotions wash right off. He didn't even have to focus on getting clean, it was just... so peaceful standing there. He never knew how well the water would drown out the sounds of the other shower occupants, and was even only partially aware of Finn leaving.

In his warm, worn out state, the first thing to come to his mind was that it would have been awkward trying to take turns. But he could have stood there all night had his legs been up for it, and enjoyed the hot water until his skin was red and wrinkled. Crying all day was exhausting.

At some point during the shower, it might have been just barely heard over the sound of running water. A little, "thank you" from the other stall. Whether Finn truly cared a little bit, or was only pretending, Oliver would be thankful for the kindness anyway.
