The kick to the shin connected, causing The Storm to let his grip on Cartwright's hair fall free and grab onto his shin instead, letting out a "Son of a b***h!" in the process! It didn't seem like the most effective move in the world, but kicked shins was one of the worst pains one could deal with!

Just as The Storm was about to go back onto the offense, Cartwright's zealous instincts took over. Matt was rammed back-first into the Plexiglas chamber! It may have cracked, but it didn't break under the pressure! Not yet, at least. The sickening thud of Shanahan's spine connecting with the chamber was amplified by the growl of agony that followed as he fell down to a sitting position against it!

Slumped back against the chamber and already feeling the effects of the impact on his spine, Matt's focus wasn't entirely on Cartwright at the moment. As a result, that dropkick connected hard! With Cartwright's feet pushing firm against his chest, and the Plexiglas behind him, Matt was effectively sandwiched between the two forces! He let out a roar of pain while falling into his side, his arms instinctively wrapping around his ribs.

The Storm's ribs were quite possibly cracked after that dropkick, he was in no real position to fight off Cartwright's attempt to pull him up to his feet. But he refused to be taken down yet again! Right as he went to throw an elbow into Cart's ribs, he felt himself being pushed into the chained wall of the chamber! His entire body collided with the steel mesh, causing the side of the chamber to vibrate! His hands gripped the holes in the chains, stopping him from falling down to the steel again. After all, he refused to be taken back down!

Just as The Storm was about to push off the chains, he felt a sharp kick smack against his already wearing-down spine; a loud grunt left his lips. Another kick, another grunt! And another kick, followed by a grunt! Somehow, Cartwright had fully turned the odds on the challenger!

Hoping to get away from the kicks, and hopefully guessing Cartwright's rhythm by now, Matt used the Chamber wall to his advantage. He pulled himself out of the way of the fourth kick with a rotation to put his back against it instead, also leaving the champion nothing but chains for his feet to hit!

How perfectly that seemed to work out for the challenger! The Storm's eyes locked onto the trapped Cartwright the moment his foot got stuck, and his mind was already working at full speed. Before The Talented One could successfully pull his foot out of the chains, Matt shot forward and attempted to knock Cart right off his feet with a boot to the side of the head!

The champion was down on the steel grating with his leg suspended very nicely for The Storm to his next move. Matt's face was a message of pain and anger, his back already aching with agony. He stood over the Talented One, looking down at him with a steely expression. Suddenly, his head whipped to the side to stare at the man's leg. Without hesitation, he lifted his boot and attempted to drive his heel straight into the man's suspended knee repeatedly, aiming to cause effective damage to the limb!
