"I think we used thermals to heat the water," N'tren responded to the word. "My father has a system that brings heat to the washing rooms." He hoped that she understood what he was talking about. Trying not to be too eager, N'tren waited for others to speak.

Datiath, in the meantime, had his eyes on the flits. He watched as they lifted themselves off the ground and moved around. Stretching out his wings, he gave them a good flap before bringing them back to his body. Interesting, he said to no one in particular.

R'ael clears his throat thoughtfuly. The term sounds familiar, but he's flustered enough not to be able to place it, so he stays silent instead, looking a bit frazzled as he tries to come up with the right defenition for the term.

Remia shook her head, disapointed that she couldn't give the right answer. Thermals.... Well, it probably had to do with heat, like N'tren thought. But beyond that, she honestly had no idea. At least others seemed equally unable to answer, and she wasn't alone.

"Thermals...", G'dor scratched at his head, rolling the term over. He knew that word- warm pockets of air. The best kind to fill the sails of the fishing ships and otherwise. At least, that's what he hoped it was. He could imagine his dragon's wings like great sails- it would make sense to fill them with rising air, "...is... it warm air?"

Remia smiled excitedly. Warm air! Of course! She knew that warm air rose, if only because the steam from the pots rose, and because the top of a room became warmer when the fireplace was lit than the bottom.

"Oh! G'dor! That must be it! Warm air rises, so it's like wind, only going up!"

She turned bright eyes to the Weyrlingmaster, waiting for the verdict.

G'dor blushed a bit with the small bit of attention, hunching his shoulders up closer to him. Sure that might be the answer- but what if it was wrong? He'd look stupid...or if it was right maybe they'd get all excited that he knew. Which was worse he coudln't quite say.

The boy slowly glanced over to R'ael, pulling at his lower lip before returning his gaze back down to the ground. Was he still cross with him? Neither had made the effort to apologize, either because they were both equally stubborn or neither completely believed they were in the wrong...still...he was his brother, the distance was killing him.

R'ael ducked his head, also feeling foolish, but also feeling G'dors eyes on him, which makes him look away, feeling hateful, guilty, and angry all at the same time. Why had G'dor had to say what he did? Why did he say what he had in return?
Maybe after this....then maybe he'd talk to his brother. Maybe. Just maybe.
