No. really, he was angry at a certain moderator who was there to keep the game satisfactory. To make them 'happy'. He was downright livid about it all. And he was doubting her words heavily. There was no doubt in that, but the fact remained. If he wanted out he had to kill the queen? Losing wasn't the right option, right?
...he grimaced. Jacking hell.
And now he was going to end up with a mouth on him. ...mentally. Tsk. Fine. He grumbled and had made the trek out upon hearing the queen herself was loose and rampaging. Rather nastily. He grimaced at the sight before him. Jack almight on a pa- THERE HE WENT AGAIN!
No. No. Cursing was NOT a proper course of action. Calm down, calm down. What would his father do? Right. Put her in her place.
...it seemed like words (IRONY) wouldn't work. She was an NPC after all.
He started forward, cards turning to claws as he advanced on the figure before him. "You know, if you'd never appeared..." None of this would have happened. The words didn't leave his lips, but he did lunge forward, striking at the figure draped in red as she lashed out at him. His two minipets danced around his legs, working to heal up the pain caused even as he continued to strike at her.
She had to go down. She had to. They both did. Then... then perhaps they'd all be allowed to wake up. From this dream turned nightmare. His own nightmare had been repaired, but this one only got worse. Threatened to spiral further and further down. Because he was a living being. He wasn't a puppet who would comply with every request to a certain blond, pigtail bearing marionette.
He may have been compliant at first. Happy to play around. But he'd learned that this wasn't just a game. That life was passing by as he was stuck here. As his friend were stuck here. He wasn't going to stay and let that happen. He'd find a way to escape and take them with him.
And sadly, the queen of an NPC was in his way. Because Alice had placed here there for that purpose.
Though there were doubts in his mind, doubts that actually defeating the queen would change anything. That this would truly help. He didn't want it to be true that... perhaps she intended to keep them here. To let their lives be replaced with those dolls she'd made. It wasn't clear, she spoke in cryptics for her own devices and even now he was a bit terrified that would be the end result. That he'd find he was trapped in a land of talking trees, humming mushrooms, and psychotic hatters.
A land where rhyme and reason didn't need to take part in things.
He didn't want that.
In truth, perhaps. All he wanted was to find himself at home. Safe. Enjoying a nice cup of iced tea, reading a book. Waiting for his childish brother to charge in and tell him about some stupid idea he'd come up with. Because that was what normal was.
And the queen? She was in the way of that. So she had to go.
Shadow was wondering why so many people couldn't take down a single boss. With how many times she was replaying the blood splatter animation, you'd think she'd be dead by now.

Ahem, he was not done complaining yet Alice. Not by a long shot.
Not only had she drug him into this game (why him and not his brother who'd adore a world as kooky, crazy, bizarre, and bewildering as this), but she'd gone and drug his friends in. Poor Olivia should NOT have been subjected to things like the jabberwocky, that raid, being killed in a room, glitch land (if she went) or any of that nonsense.
Excuse you, Alice. He had a reason to be upset! (It was probably far too bad that he didn't know that beating this queen might be the downfall of his darling little Olivia. Oh well, need to know basis, RIGHT ALICE? )
Still, he had other things to rant about. Things he was going to blame on a certain marionette as she was the sole center and cause of his woes. Woe be it for her to bother him. To make him do something other than exams, reports, prom, and goodness know what else.
Speaking of prom, there was that crazy funhouse. He'd gone through it so many times. It was weird, he'd done it alone too... why had he done that? Still, that ball pit. Always that ball pit. Falling down and getting shot out the tube. He was so done with that thing by the end of it. ...freaking ball pits. Though the squirting game was fun, partially just because watching Andrew's expression as he was within ten feet of it was glorious. Ah, tormenting that poor fire demon. Even when he wasn't doing anything particularly worth calling tormenting him.

Ok, perhaps he had a bit of a mean streak. No wait... Andrew had been a jerk and forced him to marry him because of that dormouse NPC. He. Deserved. It. End of discussion. There was no longer even the mildest hint of forgiveness on his face. Freaking Andrew. But he still wasn't as bad as ALICE.
He'd tried to trust Alice, but now that he knew. He knew it was fine to despise her, and perhaps to use that utter annoyance with the NPC to try and take down the queen. A little of both. Either way he was still hacking away at her as all of this went through his head. Wow, what a weird thing to think about while he was attacking someone.
Was this like that thing he'd heard about your life flashing before your eyes when you dissipated? But he wasn't dissipating so... soo... what was this?
What did you call dying in this game anyway?
Oh well, back to what he was doing. He had to mentally gripe about the other things he could pin on Alice. LIKE THAT RAID! What on earth kind of game made you relive nightmares, or see the things you desired played out before you? Huh? What strange, screwed up game had Alice been put in charge of? Even if she was working for someone else she... sort of... agreed to all of this!
Besides. He didn't have another face to blame for it. So uhg he was angry and he was going to gripe, and rant, and... do it all in his head. Yes, he was a very frustrated Cheshire.

Oh Alice, did you think he was done? No. No, for you see he hadn't even MENTIONED THE BEAR. The bear he'd made the mistake of teaming up with in a dungeon. Because... well he accidentally pressed okay. Or something. Shh, stop judging him. That was his job. It was your fault Alice, you stuck him in that group!
Ah yes. Where was he. Teddomination. That rather special, happy, perky, messed up bear. That needed a few dozen tranquilizers shoved in him. Perhaps hourly. He wasn't sure. He'd have to test the dosage if he ever had a chance. Just enough to keep him... normal levels of happy. Like Olivia. You know, despite her bad choices she was very low key. So cute... so easy to manage. So-

So it wasn't bad enough he'd had to deal with the strange bear the entire dungeon, fighting his way past strange plants, flowers, and wasn't there a dodo that time? Yes. The broken Dodo boss. That was special in it's own way. (THANKS ALICE) But regardless, the bear had just been sooooo hyper and happy and 'YAY WE DID IT' and really. Tranquilizers. Why were they NOT a part of this game?
All things aside. It was because of THAT dungeon that Teddy decided they were bestest best friends FOREVER. ...great. To the point he literally made him join a guild. Grabbing his hand to hit the accept button and all. And it all went spiraling downhill from there. Majorly. Epicly.
Like a boss.
Wait now he was sounding like Boi. WHO WAS ANOTHER SUBJECT ENTIRELY THAT NEEDED TO BE SPOKEN ABOUT! That speech. IT WAS AWFUL! Who raised him? Holy Jack almight- ...he was cursing again. Goodness. Where were his manners? Had they gone out the window with 'YAY WE MADE A GUILD?'
Because that was only step ONE of the bears fiendish plans.
No, those plans continued on throughout the game. Including, but not limited to, being drug all through Tulgey woods and introduced to the trees. Plural. Not one. ALL OF THEM. He'd given them names. Like Smiley, Snoozy, MURDEROUS KILLER OF DESTRUCTION AND DEATH, Happy Mr. Toodles, and of course Branchy. Branchy was his favourite. He'd been forced to hear about the epic tale of Branchy (which to be fair was mostly about Teddy) for a good twenty minutes. And then they went and found cake. The cake was delicious. And not a lie.
Moving along they had some dungeons, he was able to beat down anything that moved and escape quickly enough. But then came the next problem. Cake land. Yes. Cake land. Land of tea, cakes, and crazy mad hatters.
...Teddy had found out that the cakes did fun things. Like making you big, small, pink, sugary, and... well you got what he meant. They did fun things. Well fun for the rest of the world. Frostpaw could have done without it.
He paused and checked his handy-dandy pocket checker. Was that it yet? Hmm... just a few more. AH GOOD! And then as the little ticker for his ability chimed as full, he swung rather heavily at the queen. TAKE THAT! It went something like this as the queen hit him again.
