MissKitty couldn't really pinpoint how she felt about this 'new side' of Akubi. She had never realized he could be so doting. There wasn't a thought of 'why haven't I seen this side before', because she knew why. MissKitty purposefully pushed people away to avoid things like that from happening. Not because she didn't want it, but she didn't want to eventually need it.
When she was compared to, well, her real self, the gryphon avatar scoffed. "The way you talk about her, I don't think I'd want to be associated with such a person." Which was becoming truer and truer as this little pow-wow continued.
"Harsh? Oh, I assure you, the harshness has yet to begin." And with luck, it wouldn't. She needed to leave, before this situation got out of...
What? "W-wait, you're not..." And suddenly she was gone. "... Interrupting." Oh, great. A tummy ache would be the least of her problems at this point.

When Soaps excused herself, there was little he could do. Forcing his friend to stick around would only distress her more than she was already distressing herself, and so he let her go.
For now.
Slowly his head turned toward MissKitty and he just gave her a blank stare, "Despite her flaws, Riyo is one of the truest friends I ever had. I find her loyalty the most beautiful thing about her. She tells me the truth and I tell her the truth - even if it might balk her a little sometimes...I feel like I can tell her these things because she is is strong enough..." Nyantics shrugged his shoulders.
"Otherwise I need to go before I blather on anymore and it isn't like you are interested in being friends anyhow." Nyantics started to leave the tavern without taking a single drop of the drinks they had here. Offering up memories was not his style.

MissKitty, unfortunately, couldn't manage her poker face when Akubi went on about how truthful and strong Riyo was. She frowned. Often she felt like the opposite was true.
He was leaving, and she could either let it go and stew on his words, or say something and possibly ruin whatever mental image he had built up of her.
s**t.
"T-then, I guess you don't know her very well." Her tone was hesitant, hands pushing the mug away to turn and face him. "Because, she lies a lot. To hide the fact that she's weak from the world." MissKitty's ears drooped as she spoke.
"And she only recently realized why she's so... 'reserved' as you call it."

He paused at the doorway and he sort of tilted his head to the side as if to consider the words. Nyantics just turned to face the other with a confident smile, "She hasn't really lied to me, to be honest. She may omit or not tell me things but in time she will. Riyo doesn't trust me yet, that is all."
Though her reaction did confuse him a little, "How do you know all this, anyhow? Are you a good friend she never told me of?"

He was very naive.
She might have liked that about him.
"Because Felis is just my last name, Akubi." Though, it did hurt twice as much to be truthful after deceiving him. At least she'd made a strong effort not to lie. "I don't talk about my last name because it just brings up my past transgressions, which is why you didn't recognize it."
It was probably best to just spell it out for him to avoid further head tilting. "I'm Riyo."
There. She said it. "And I'm sorry."

Welp. That was a bomb drop.
There was way more headtilting at this than there might have been if she didn't just spell it out for him. Silence filled up the space between them and he just shifted his shoulders, "Fair enough."
There was no anger. There was no betrayal. Even how she treated him a while ago was simply brushed under the carpet and forgiven. She hadn't known it was him and he hadn't known it was her and there was no changing the past.
If she had been someone he hated? If she had done or lied about something more serious? He'd have held a grudge against her, but for her? Nyantics just let it slide down and away between them as if their friendship were made of non-stick teflon.
"All this dancing around takes way too much energy, Riyo." He said simply.
He sort of turned his head back toward where Soaps had exited and then looked at MissKitty, "I just...Hope maybe you'll be okay enough to talk to me about stuff, but for now I'm just happy we are friends. That I have friends at all."

The silence was a little alarming, and it lasted for an eternity until...
Oh.
Wait, what?
T-that was it?
Really?
Holy s**t he was one easy going dude.
MissKitty was shocked into her own bout of silence for a moment, eyes wide and confused about just what had transpired. She had never known anyone so forgiving, and it was almost touching.
"When this is over..." She finally opened her mouth to speak. "... I'll tell you whatever you want to know, because... I want to trust you as much as you trust me." She at least owed that to him. At least.

He gave MissKitty smile and offered her an arm, "Well, you won't be able to tell me much if you keep drinkin'," he said simply. Nyantics saw the prices for the drinks, he didn't want to risk it as being something permanent.
For all he knew she could empty her head until she became a vegetable.
In other words it seemed like a good deal to him.
"We..Need to make sure Soaps is okay. Is that alright?" He furrowed his brow a little.

"I don't think all the memory drinks in the world could rid me of the things that plague my brain." She hopped to her feet, reluctant to take the arm but determined to anyways.
"Lets go." Was all she said in response to finding Soaps. MissKitty had been the one to drive her off, so it was only fair that she aided in the search.

"I suppose that could be true, but it never hurts to be careful," he shrugged a shoulder. When she accepted his arm he simply turned them about to exit the establishment.
Maybe Soaps would be somewhere nearby still.
All else failing he'd hunt for his friend when all of this was over.
