Brows creasing in thought, the girl leaned forward, elbows propped on the tabletop and her chin in her hands. "Right. We don't have any other choice right this second but to continue playing this game, but it's not like any of us are going to mindlessly obey Alice, right? We all want to get out of here, so we'll just have to play things by ear until we find out what is really going on here. I don't know about you guys, but I'm definitely not comfortable completely trusting that AI."
Though that being said, there was one thing in particular that had also bothered her while they had been in that room. Frown deepening, his voice suddenly took on a slow, careful tone as he gaze flickered between NotAllan and Shadowstep.
"Also...was it just me, or did that girl that Hulk knows seem surprisingly attached to Alice? I mean it could be nothing, but it did make me a little unsettled. I almost expected for everyone to be suspicious in this place, considering none of us--or so I assume--are here of our own free will."

NotAllan shrugged a sigh with her whole body. "That's what bothers me. I don't think ALICE is lyin'."
It just didn't add up. "I was a programmer before-" She cut herself off, realizing not everyone in the group might know of the existence of hunters. For all she knew, these were just humans who had been sucked into something larger than themselves. "Before coming here and codes ... Codes don't lie. They only know truth functions. They don't lie unless they been programmed in a lie so specific that we'd be able to tell."
It troubled Chel greatly. "Things like providing satisfaction as a function... I've never seen it." She nodded at Nightbloom. "And the fact that someone is trusting in it so much... It's downright suspicious. I don't trust her. We should be careful 'round her."

"The woman threatened to 'extract me' from the game, by the way." SANDSHARK interjected with a bark, arms folded and a pint of fake ale sitting in front of his spot on the table. He'd plunked himself right by Nightbloom and Shadowstep, coming in a little late thanks to a dungeon summon. He was starting to understand this whole system now.
"Maybe she's an operative of whoever put us in this damn five day coma? That may be why she trusts ALICE so much. Hell, maybe she created her." The man rattled, shrugging and sipping at the tasteless code beverage.

"The girl, Mimsy... she's definitely siding with ALICE. She insisted that ALICE is benign and that my real target should be some malign force within the game. I don't know if her information is really trustworthy or if she was trying to mislead me,"Shadowstep said casually, "I don't like how attached she seems to be to all of this. We can be sure that we would have to deal with her should ALICE end up being our target."
He furrowed his brow for a moment, thinking it over some more.
"As far as ALICE, herself, she may not be 'aware' of any lies. I don't know. This whole damn thing is weird."
