"...Maybe," Nightbloom answered, though she couldn't hide the doubt in her voice, "I uh. I genuinely hope that that...works out for you. Do you want me to leave you two alone?" At least, that's what she got from the look she was giving him, and she kind of instinctively shrunk back a little. Well, she didn't actually want to leave, but maybe she could just...stop staring at bigbadwolf as he flirted with the tree.
Hastily turning away and eying the red marks on the tree, the girl traced her fingers over the hearts. "Hey, mister--miss?--tree, how about I trade you my two of diamonds for your two of hearts." Diamonds and hearts were both red suits and they were kind of close to one another if you...tilted your head and squinted a little, right?
...Okay no they weren't, but it was a worth a try. She was quick to get ready to duck out of the way of the door though, just in case it chucked another something-or-the-other at someone else. She definitely didn't want to get caught in the crossfire. Gaze sliding back to the side to eye bigbadwolf, she gave a tiny little shake of her head.

The sounds and crazy noises coming from the others was what had garnered her attention. She stood by the sides and watched everyone's silly attempts... and soon, the sillyness seemed to catch ahold of her too. She took note of her own card being the Ace of Spades. Instead she offered the door a riddle of her own. "When is a door, not a door?" she asked, light heartedly.

Ch33p looked around at the gathered masses and then back at the tree, rather sheepishly it must be said. “I’m sorry but you don’t seem all that secret right now…”
With the number of people starting to accumulate around the tree Ch33p was starting to feel a bit skittish. Too much jostling happening all at once! She tapped a finger against her leg for a moment, weighting her options, before making a decision. “Thank you for your time, but I’m… I’m going to go… thank you… bye…”

It didn't look like any tricks were going to work on the door. sweetm00n briefly considered pointing out that she had both a heart, and many twos on her body, (Two arms, for one!) but realized it would probably be pointless. Sniffing a little haughtily, she marched off.

Overhearing the tree calling for hearts, Gun shuffled forward. "I'm a nine of hearts. That's more than double what you're asking for. Or you can take two of mine, if you wish." He wasn't sure if the special card he was assigned was important, but right now he didn't really care. The door was a mystery and he wanted to solve it.

the0racle had been wandering, as she was often given to do, and had wandered herself right to the edge of the map where a tree seemed to be in the middle of a rather extreme harassment by a group of players. There were players swinging from branches, kicking the tree, trying to make love to it, and otherwise bribe it to open its door. She kind of wanted to walk on by, but then she kind of really wanted to stick around and see what was going on.
the0racle marched up to the tree, mulling over how she could get the tree to open its door herself. "If you share your secret with me, I will tell you of your future..." the0racle declared in her most mystical of voices. She dramatically closed her eyes and rocked on her heels, as if a vision was coming to her now. Maybe one was? It was kind of hard to tell. But, probably not. Her game self wasn't as good at decoding the future as her real self was. "Your future is that you will give me your secret. Can I have it now?"

Suddenly there were two others around her, with glaring names over their heads - WarQueen and Killsteal. There was something strange about them, almost a comforting feeling of familiarity - but it was hard to pick anyone out completely. Everyone had a mask of uncertainty around them, but she felt . . . okay with them.
Well, not what they were talking about.
Giving them both a little look, she pouted a little, one that was more worried than scolding. "I would think you need your hearts. They seem pretty important." She murmured a little. "I would have thought it was to do with cards also, really." She thought out loud, sighing.
"Maybe we need a two of hearts, not two hearts. I am just a 9 of diamonds, I do not fit."

"Or a punk," he added, taking no small pleasure in watching the one apparently labled the 2 of Hearts get a familiar thrown at him for his efforts. Seems they'd have to keep watch for things that corresponded to their associative card?
killsteal gave a dry look to the woman that joined them--although "them" was a rather loose term in this case. They seemed . . . alright. Or maybe he had a little too much booze back at the tavern. "******** right off," he barked. "I got ten damn hearts and none've 'em are yours. 'Sides, I think this tree's got its jollies out now."
He had half a mind to see if it minded letting him sharpen his nails here while they were at it, just so this venture wasn't a complete waste of time.
